After a dismal experience at shake shack (see previous review) I took my wife, son and daughter-in-law to iceberg. We ordered 4 huge over the rim specialty shakes. They were delicious and plentiful for a decent price. I shelled out $22 for these tasty shakes. A far better deal than the $14 I paid for 2 mini shakes at the shack. I enjoyed my iceberg shake over the course of 3 days. A freezer was involved in between but it was still very good. Keep up the satisfying work iceberg!
Ice cream is five stars.. thick, flavorful, but I do wish they had a teal “mini” - I always toss at least 3/4ths of it. The food- not so much. I know, I know, I should have known not to expect much from a crab sandwich here… but I gave it a shot. Don’t. The tater tots were good though, and my son liked the corn dogs.
We were not happy with the two Oreo shakes that we ordered. We ordered the mini which by the way is a shake that you could share with two people so be sure you are hungry if you are getting a mini for yourself - otherwise you’ll throw away a quarter of it.There wasn’t enough Oreo in our shake and the Oreos that were in it did not taste like original Oreos. We ask the employees if they use original Oreos and they said they did so I’m not quite sure why it didn’t taste like Oreo. There was also a blueberry in my shake which really grossed me out until I realized what it was.We started eating our shakes inside the lobby but there were so many flies in the lobby that we had to go eat out in our car. The lobby is very small but there is a lot of room seating outside. I would definitely recommend take out onlyThe Employees and service were good.We have been to other iceberg locations before and things were fine but this was not a great experience for us this time.
Love this place! I have been so many times and have rarely had any problems. The only thing I want to mention is that we got there around 9:30 PM and the drive thru was closed, but it was still open to walk up to and order. This is one of the best shakes and a great bang for your buck! I will continue to come here often.
I love this place! I spent many years going to the orem location, and was so sad when they closed. When I moved up this way I was so excited to see they had one. You get way more then you pay for, everyone is always friendly. The ice cream tastes amazing, and it has a cute little 1950s vibe wich I love.
I think Iceberg used to be really good, but times have definitely changed. Everytime we decide to give it another go, something just goes wrong. Usually service related but this time I actually got whole almonds in my ice cream. Every spoon full is like 4 or 5 full almonds. And while Im glad they dont skimp on the toppings, I cannot eat full almonds in ice cream.
Took this photo as soon as I got the shakes. The boy that was taking orders was very unprofessional and handed my shakes to me dripping all over the place. I was very upset and should not have even accepted them in this condition. They should be making these shakes fresh not minutes before and allow them to melt while we wait in line. Won’t be visiting here for a while. If I could give 0 stars I would. 2 weeks ago….Gave Iceberg one more try on 07/25 and the manager here working that night really turned everything around for me. Guess it just depends on the staff working nights but tonight was awesome kudos to you guys and just for that I’ve changed my stars to 5 stars. Thank you for an amazing customer service experience I truly appreciate it Sandy!
This old school drive in is great on many levels. The milk shake selection is endless. The milk shakes are thick and enormous. Most importantly, the milkshakes are delicious. There is usually a wait but it’s worth it. There is some limited seating outside on a few picnic tables. Iceberg is the best.
Very inexpensive and the food was great. The fries were hot and fresh. Shakes were great and they had lots and lots of flavors to choose from. Customer service was fast and the staff was pleasant.
Had a few freezer burned chicken burgers from here, its ok for a quick fix, shakes are good and humongous! Staff are always stressed out, but seem nice enough.
Great food, fairly fast drive through. Amazing shakes!
If you want some amazing milkshakes, this is the place to go! There are tons of flavors, and the consistency of the shakes is perfect- a little too thick for a straw, but not so much that youll have a hard time eating with a spoon. They have two sizes, mini and regular, and both are absolutely huge. Definitely go with the intention of sharing!
Disappointing experience. Disappointed to write this review. I’ve really loved this place a long time. This time was much different and so frustrating. The kids that are working here (except the girl) are so unprofessional. Blasting straight gangster rap inside, dropping f bombs and n bombs all over the place, and not just the music, the employees talk like this! At least the two younger boys, maybe 16-18 years old. The older ladies that were on shift were super uncomfortable and it was very obvious. Kid at the front has no patients and does know the menu, over all bad attitude. Inappropriate music and language the entire time we ate inside with our children. Total disappointment
Always had a good experience here with the exception of last visit. Looked on the website after having dentle work said they opend at 10:30 so I got there n got out about 11 am, the kid at the counter said they dont open till the manager gets there and didnt know when that would be.
A great place for soft serve ice cream and shakes. It is always super busy when I come here. Prices are great. Ive only had their ice cream, cant speak to their burgers. Definitely a place to go for 🍦
Historic SLC shake shop. Good for shakes but thats about it. Always busy. Always seems to struggle with cleanliness. Flies are always abundant in the small dining room and Im sure thats the case in the kitchen too.Regardless, they have good shakes and for that Im certain Ill be returning again.
I love little places like this. I also love ice cream! They were helpful. Wish they had a good to-go option for their giant ice cream cups. They melted and made a mess in my car.
Wow! This was my first time here. The shakes were very good. The burger I had was delicious. My kids loved their shakes and ate their food as well. The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the place was clean.
Their prices are fantastic and their food/shakes are consistently great. They do have long lines...but, theres a reason for that. They are wonderful!
Food is Superb. Shakes are amazing. However I am here to write about the absolute worst service levels and wait times Ive ever seen PERIOD. For a place as popular as it is they should have triple the staff. Expect an hour wait for a burger and shake EVERYTIME. Dont expect to get through the drive through if its busy either as it puts you out into the road. Just to wait 45 minutes to be told CASH ONLY.I am DONE with this bulls**** experience. As good as the food is its NOT worth the INSANE wait times. Their management should be ASHAMED and EMBARRASSED.
Good shakes and tasty traditional burgers. Im always amazed at the line-up for the drive-up window. Id give it 5 stars if theyd cleanup the outdoor seating and add some umbrellas.
I never give bad reviews but holy cow. That was the slowest service Ive ever received, staff wasnt wearing masks, none were wearing gloves. Having worked in food service this place is a nightmare.Only reason Im giving two stars instead of one is the food is good and they gave me extra fry sauce :)
It was a bit hot, so I wanted something to cool me off, and a large Milkshake from Iceberg was on my mind. I ordered a large Strawberry shake, and large fries too. The fries were KILLER, but the large shake was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Either one were to be enjoyed on their own. The next time, Ill use the shake as a dessert instead of trying to drink it. SO GOOD! The fries are about the best that I have found around town. Yummy!
Extra thick grasshopper shake! Loved it
I ordered a cherry chocolate large shake. I thought it was huge. Its definitely above the rim and kinda difficult to drive and try to eat it. I asked for an extra cut to use as a lid and that worked. When I was able to eat it at home, it was rich and creamy. However, the ratio of chocolate to cherry was off. The entire shake tasted like chocolate and every one in while Id get a whole cherry. The size was misconceiving as there was a smaller cup inside of the large cup. I guess the over the rim portion makes up for that. It took me three days to eat the entire shake. Overall, Id go back and try another flavor.
I ordered a fish burger but they had just ran out so I ordered a chicken sandwich and onion rings. When I went to pay they had given me a 15% discount because they ran out of fish. That was very nice. I enjoyed the chicken sandwich and the onion rings were out of the world. Try them Im sure that you will not be sorry
Service is good. Timely, well mannered, and quick to serve. Their world famous shakes though? Not so much. Arguably the worst shake Ive ever had. I couldnt taste any strawberries. It tasted...off? Bad whip cream mixed with soft serve ice cream? Even the chocolate shake was bad which Im not sure how you screw up either.
If I could give 0 stars I might. We waited 40 min for one lime shake. They basically forgot my whole order which was just three kid cones and a lime shake. I went back to the window three times and finally a nice girl in the back said “hey I can just make yours right now.” I ordered at 8:05 got my shake at 8:45 pm. The ten orders after me all got their food before me. And my friend who had a hair in her shake got her new shake before mine too. The cashier handing out the food had his mask down under his chin the whole time too. Super nice guy but not his night.
Good ice cream. Over the top portions.Limited seating. Terrible drive through mechanics. Access via the walk up window if possible.
Ive only tried the cheeseburger, onion rings, fried zucchini, and shakes but they were all good. I wasnt crazy about the look of the (mayo to ketchup ratio) fry sauce, so you might want to see if they have ranch instead. Fun retro vibe and friendly, helpful, clean employees.
I will not be coming back and I encourage others to go elsewhere. My red flag should have been the woman who had been waiting for her 2 hot dogs for 40 minutes. Apparently the machine in the back was down, whatever that means. But Im sorry, as a business, if you see customers waiting for 30+ minutes, ask their order again and take it by hand to make sure they get the food they paid for. I waited over 30 minutes before I finally decided to get a refund and go. You know who did get their food right away though? The owners family who waltzed into the building and got waited on hand and foot. Glad you kept your family happy because you lost a few customers today.
Burgers were better before only thing good now is the shakes food portions are small
I went for the shakes which were very good and large! The service was slow. Like most restaurants they needed more help.
We were in the drive thru for almost an hour(there were only like three or four cars in front of us), and when we got to the window our shakes were already done, but we were still sitting there for a few minute before they gave them to us. As a result, they were melted when we got them. I’m now juggling them to keep them from dripping all over the car.
Handed me two shakes I had no idea how to get home!! Lol love this place its been a staple for many years they need helpers, go now the shakes are the best!
Wow first and last time eating here. The screwed up every item that I ordered, ordered 2 kids meals I dont know what the idiot cashier heard. But I got 1 kid meal no fries with it and the burger was done wrong. My shake tastes more vanilla then cheesecake. I thought the lines was always long because they had good food not because people spent more time here making them make their order right. Doesnt deserve any stars
The Iceberg drive-in has been around forever. It’s a classic Utah icon. They are most famous for their shakes. A mini shake cost 3.99 and the cup is 7 inches high and the ice cream probably goes 2 to 3 inches above it. For the price it’s a lot of ice cream. This place has a nice classic diner retro vibe. Not a lot of indoor seating and no bathroom.
They handed me a puddle that got all over my car. Definitely not a thick shake as advertised. So if you dont mind getting your car detailed after, give em a try.
Been a favorite since I was born. Today they had customers for shakes right at 10:30 opening, which is a great sign for the economy. We needed one extra shake ready to travel (trust me, if you come home with Iceberg but without one for someone you live with, youre in trouble) and the staff knew right how to stop it from melting all over the car. I recommend Eggnog Oreo Malt.
The shakes are the best around and they have lots of options for lunch or dinner too.
Is it even fair to call it a shake? Its just ice cream in a cup thats hardly mixed. The portion is too huge, you will not be able to eat a fourth of the ice cream before it gets completely melted. Not to mention the ice cream tastes like trash, and the menu is way overpriced. Even McDonalds soft served is better. This is a disgrace and it deserves 0 stars, never visiting again.
Their milkshakes and shakes are Divine what a place to go to get a great shake
I love this place! The food is good, and the shakes are awesome! So MANY flavors!!!
Went through the drive thru to get shakes. Was able to get a m&m shake even though it wasnt on the board so that made me very happy 😊 The other two in my car got Nutella shakes and they really liked them.
This is an unexpected find! We cruised up to this joint in an older neighborhood, without checking menu or reviews at all. It was a burger place on our route and that was all that mattered. The menu is stacked with American Drive-thru classics! We ordered 5 combo meals and everything was delicious. Fries were crispy and hot. The shakes were huge, well flavored, and perfect. This truly a hidden gem! Make the trip from the yuppie side of town for a delicious unbeatable treat! 🍔🍟🥤
Always enjoy going to Iceberg, especially OG location. Can sometimes have a bit of a wait, but its worth it. All their shakes are huge, and great rich flavor. Usually only get shakes but their buggers are fantastic too.
We waited in the drive through for about 40 mins then finally got to the window and our shakes were just sitting there melting while the employees sat there and talked with the window open for at least two mins As we just sat there and watched them melting. Then we pay and the girl hands us our shakes completely dripping everywhere! All the girl said is here are extra napkins. It was a huge mess in our car! They werent shakes they were soup!then when I finally tasted my hot fudge Sunday the fudge was disgusting. I didnt even eat it. Not impressed 😕 wont be going back anytime soon if even. Get some better employees!
The food was ok but the milkshake was just soft serve in two cups.
The shakes were amazing! We went for shakes and decided on food. It wasnt good at all. My daughter liked the fries with the chocolate shake. The reason for the 2 was the guy at the drive thru...yuk his attitude horrible, rude, no customer service AT ALL. My husband doesnt complain much. He did about this kid and I dont blame my husband for being angry after the way we were treated. I dont think well be back here not as long as hes working anyway. Lets just say his Tupac shirt matched his gangster attitude.
We use to love this place, we havent been for many years. We decided to go tonight and sadly we were VERY disappointed. We waited over an hour in a half for 4 shakes. Customers in front of us received theirs, we went to the window and we were told there were 2 orders in front of ours. Waited another 10 or so minutes and still no shakes. Went up again, advised again we have been waiting for over an hour 1/2 for 4 shakes and we still have not received them. They finally told us they lost our ticket. The gal up front was super busy trying to take care of ordering and getting out food/shakes. She advised the people in the back this wasnt ok, the kid in the back could have cared less. We finally received our shakes and they were ok. Totally understand being understaffed but this was not the best customer experience.
Still the same fantastic, HUGE shakes as when we used to go here as teenagers in the early 80s. So yummy!
Ordered through grubhub and that was the worst choice of my life.1. The food was cold and was not even edible.2. The food looked as if a toddler put it together3. I dont know if it was the restaurant or the driver but my drink was not with my meal I even paid extra for a cherry lime Ricky.5. Lastly I paid almost 30.00 for food that went in the trash..I will never go to this place again 😒
Food was good and fairly priced, however wait in the drive through line was very long. I imagine another business hit by staffing shortages
Delicious above the rim shakes, you really get your moneys worth. Also delicious cheese fries.
Famous for their excellent shakes. Be prepared to wait. Service is not fast, and the owners, for some reason, dont reinvest in the little things, like a working speaker system, that would create a much better customer experience.
Awesome! Mini milkshake is not actually small at all lol. Just keep that in mind. All the food was to die for! Which I probably will if I get addicted to it 😂
Great old fashioned grub. Best shakes on this planet.
Had a bacon cheeseburger and ice cream cone twist. The place inside was disgustingly dirty- grease smeared on the tables and food crumbs on the tables and chairs; flies buzzing around; odd smell. The burger was tasteless. Seemed boiled. The bacon on it seemed like that thin cut precooked stuff. The ice cream was delicious and a good decent size for the price.
Very disappointed with Iceberg tonight. Drive thru was very inefficient (like always.) I had been in the drive thru line since 8:25pm, and the employee turned me away at 8:45pm saying they were closing at 9:00pm. Employee did not care that I had been waiting for 20 minutes, and have been a loyal customer. You should serve your customers that arrive well before closing!!!
The best place for shakes. It never fails to amaze me with the combinations that you can do. It truly is a desert paradise for kids or any adult.
They have awesome huge shakes. The mini is much more than you’d ever need and is a good price
We showed up 30 minutes before closing, and after waiting 5+ minutes they finally came to the window and told us that they were closing early and couldn’t take our order. After I asked why that was because we were 30 minutes before close, the employee stated that we are too busy and understaffed so we’re closing. How is this even an option. Close because you are too busy??? Super disappointed in management!
I love this place. I have been going here since 1980 when i was four years old. I loved it then and i still love it today. Great food. great service. And the malts are to die for. I would Give it 10 stars if i could.
Milk shakes - taste out of this world experience
Heres the situation... Theres no reason not to go here, but theres every reason not to go inside⚠️ The price per quantity is great➡️from the safety of your vehicle.HOWEVER, should the 🎼sweet song of the soft-serve siren draw you indoors 🎶 BEWARE! Immediately upon entry our children about lost their shoes as they stuck to laminate* floor (laminated by years of melted ice🐜). I have to applaud the countless flies who entertained the children while we waited, but it was a little alarming how many fries could be found under the seats.Well be back, but only from the 🦺 safety of our S.anctuary U.tility V.ehicle 🚙
Ordered a jumbo burger and got what looked like a kids burger. Onion rings had zero flavor. Asked for fry sauce never got it. Had to ask for our drink. This wasnt even at peak hours.
Great memories here. Still tastes the same
First off weirdly placed, like almost creating a car wreck just too get in. Secondly the service was so poorly done that it took them several minutes too get the order of the car in front of us. Then several minutes and me straining myself too hear the speakers. Then they shoved our food haphazardly into the bag Im normally not a person who complains matter of fact I only commented because it was a poorly done job that I needed too say something too hopefully prevent others from supporting this place.
Always excellent food And Ice-cream and shakes.Alwayd.Thank You.
It was a long wait at the Drive Thru. By the time we got our mini shake orders it was all melted. My husband ordered the strawberry banana shake with macadamia, but they had added almonds instead, and they were hard, too. Its an extra cost to add Macadamias so we didnt get our moneys worth.
I had their root beer shake. It is soooooo good! Their strawberry and butterfingers are very good too. But the root beer is the best I’ve had out of all the shakes. Way better than shake shack.
Wew I think these guys need to clean their ice cream machine. The place felt so dirty, I felt like I needed to take the covid vaccine immediately after coming here. Not to mention the poor food quality is overpriced.
I always get a regular cherry pecan shake. The last few times Ive gone, my shake turned out under mixed, white chunks of ice cream showing. The cherry is NOT cherry red like it used to be. The past several times the shake is light, light pink with white ice cream swirling through. That does not make a vanilla shake taste like a cherry shake. Totally bummed, cuz I paid full price for a not so worth it shake. Will I do it again? No cuz there are new and improved places to go for an over the top handmade shake.
So disappointed- we are happy to wait in line but not wait at the window after paying and waiting for staff to bring our 2 shakes that sat on the counter melting for 11 minutes. They then tried to hand the melted mess to us. During this time we watched 2 employees working very hard making shakes and FOUR others STANDING around play fighting, texting on their phones and laughing. We sat there at the window, shakes in sight while not a single employee was paying attention or crying to hand them to us. They literally forgot we were waiting on our order. One star because they remade our order- but were rude about it.
Burgers were good, not amazing. The wait was a bit long but that is forgivable because they were quite busy. The shakes were huge, but not particularly wonderful. The onion rings are fun to look at, but not at all practical for eating. Fries were good, but they forgot the fry sauce the charged us 25 cents for. I probably will not be back.
This was the worst experience Ive ever had. Its been about 5 years since Ive eaten here and its safe to say that I will never go back. We waited in the drive thru for 40 minutes and somehow still ended up with cold food. Got a 1/4 of the way through my shake and found a black hair. Horrible customer service. Horrible food. Dont waste your time and money here.
The burger was sub par, I got the Rodeo one, I do not recommend it. Their fries are the worlds best!!! The milkshakes were also good.
Rude staff at the drive through. Tried to tell me I was done ordering halfway through. Very surly at the pickup window. He crammed my familys order into one bag and smashed everything. Food fine otherwise.
Same ol’ great iceberg food and shakes!
Iceberg has been the go to place for thick, huge shakes since my first visit in 1966. The one pictured is the original on 9th East and 3900 South in SLC, they have built several outlets during the last decade or so. I believe they are only in Utah, would appreciate any additional sightings.
The place is nice. I went there with my family and I have food allergies and I have to know whats in the food and they were very cooperative and helped me. Their shakes are very good and so is their other food but shakes are their specialty.
They gave 15 other orders out while we waited for ours. It was sitting their waiting to be put into a to go bag for the majority of our wait. Our food was a bit stale and not as warm as it shouldve been when we got it. :/ the shakes were aight
Had a bubble gum shake mini and it was huge good flavor good price
Dont bother with the drive thru, the location makes it difficult to deal with it. Just park and walk up to the window. Great shakes, but theyre larger than what you think they are, so definitely get a mini.
Difficult to get into drive thru and not enough toppings in the shakes for my taste
Very rude drive thru service. Openly hostile. Will not recommend or return. Nostalgia can only take a business so far, they will have to maintain quality and have good customer service.
Iceberg has the best shakes! I always order the grasshopper which is my favorite. Their drive thru line could have room for more cars but thats not really under their control.
Had been quite a while since Ive been to iceberg was pleasantly surprised that their quality has maintained superbly since the last time I had eaten there which is in the neighborhood of a few years it can be busy there sometimes I would recommend avoiding the drive-thru it gets congested and backed up onto the road which is not really safe but there is a pretty good size parking lot nearby I would recommend Park and walk up I got my food in less than about 20 minutes and it was an evening on the weekend and the food was delicious prices are pretty good so drop on in and get a burger and remember just avoid the drive-thru.
Id avoid this place - 26 minutes from payment to shake in hand, while 3 cars and 2 other in-person orders who went in after mine got their orders filled before me.
Been going to this place for 20yrs! Best shakes in town!
I really want to like this place. Their milkshakes are more like a blizzard consistency, but delicious. For five of us, we got two larges, and it was more than enough. The biggest problem was it took 20 minutes plus to get two shakes, and our tots came out wrong. This place needs a little more staffing on a busy, warm Sunday afternoon.
