Great supermarket, but there’s too much political activity near the entrance. Nothing kills my weekend mood faster than having politics shoved into my retina. I just want to shop in peace.
Great price with authentic Asian food that you can find. I can easily spend $300 in a wholefoods and get almost nothing, but here, I can a full cart of stuff that I need. You need fresh live fish? Come to this place and you will not be disappointed.
This place has lots of parking, really clean and organized. I appreciate the social distancing as well as having a hand sanitizer right at the door. The cashier was really friendly and I like the atmosphere which was great. The workers look really happy and really accommodating.
Kinda not 5-star as grocery like your wholefoods or tradejoe for sure, but 5-star as asian grocery. Get every thing you want here, from totally not healthy snack to a jam with asian women face on it here. (Lao Gan Ma)
Im a New Yorker so Im highly disappointed by the dead fish swimming in the tanks. Some of the cashiers got attitude problems including the bakery. They act and look like they dont want to be there. I used to think CA have all the best sea food but I was super wrong. NY is busy so the sea food is fresh. Their hot food section needs more flavor. NY have the best Asian restaurants.
Always appreciated for the variety and selection, Ill be a lifelong customer. While their motto is for one hundred they try harder, Ill have yet to understand why they do not maintain their stores better. Every isle and nearly every product is on sale (nothing is on sale when everything is) and the endcaps sale signs are so old theyre peeling off the plastic.
Great selection of produce and items. Their lunch selection is good.
Very nice strip mall type shopping center.
Came here for Taro. This place has precut taro packed in a vacuum sealed bag. The taro is very tasty. Will buy again
I enjoy the spacious shopping environment at this store.
It’s a little pricy among the other 99 ranch in the area and many flies in the store. It has good variety of products
It is just opposite to the hotel which I stayed...This market pretty much has everything, all the daily needs.. including fresh veggies, fruits, all types of meats and a live counter for sea food...The products are usually from Taiwan, korea and other countries.. So, it was difficult for me to pick and read about the products.. but I had picked few chocolates and other stuff which I could figure out after a great difficulty... :)
Good selection of produce. Went an hour after opening. Very well organized. Great staff. Got a couple of coupons. Good alternative to Lion Market chain.
They have pretty much everything for most Asian of daily need. However, I found their products are more catering toward Taiwanese other than people from other parts of Asian. Price tend to be more expensive for the same products comparing to non-chain independent Asian grocery stores or less massive supermarkets, averaging 15 to 30% more costly. The upside is that they are one stop for almost all store since its one of the biggest 99 Ranch in Bay area with lot of selections. Also, one of the cleanest. But lately, I think they over kill it with bleach to a point you can only smell bleach in the air to a point which you literally get suffocated. There are always lines but they move relatively quick. Parking is a problem, especially during meal time and off work hours. And its worse than before due to parking spaces taken away for out door sitting. Driving through the parking lot is a little bit tricky too because of the outdoor sitting areas.
Lots of hard to find items (cassava, pandan leaves), and a wide variety staples. 30+ kinds of dumplings, a plethora of Boba products, spices galore. You always leave with happily More than you intend to buy
Prepared food did not look appetizing. Fully stocked. Not crowded. Large Asian supermarket
Good spot for getting fresh Indian fish types.
Great selection of meats, as well as dry and frozen foods. The meats all seemed very fresh. I would say fresher and better looking than Safeway. All meat was labelled not just with the type of animal, but the specific varietal and the county of origin and slaughter. Meat prices were very fair as well. The produce is a little limited, but there is a nice selection of mushrooms. Go here for meat/bones. Theres a great bakery next door too.
Worst customer service! I was shopping at this ranch last week and the cashier doesnt bag the items for customers (not only me, but also the customers in front of me in the the same line). When I asked the cashier to bag the items, she says you need to bag the items yourself. Isnt it the cashiers job? This happens at the Cupertino ranch 99 too...
Good store with nice Chinese music playing in the background
This 99 Ranch Market is better than average in its chain. Large selection of oriental vegetables, dry goods and fresh seafood. Stock is typically delivered twice a week, Tuesday and Friday. Hot food to go is replenished frequently and different daily. Wait time in check out is typically under 10 minutes.
Pricey bad customer service
Quite a selection of Chinese and Japanese foods and beverages. Had a Japanese worker with me and he loves the place
99 ranch really needs some new shopping carts. This is a very important touch point between them and their customers. Dirty, rusty and banged up carts sends a terrible message. 99 Ranch is not a mom and pop market chain and should be more guarded of their image.
Wide selection of Asian grocery. Live seafood too.
Got in there and there were lines at the registers but it still wasnt a long wait. Took a little while to find what I was looking for, but found it and several other varieties. Price was having a $1.16 off sale, nice!
It got what I needed. Also has a small food section.
Great place to get fresh vegetables and fruit. But of course, main thing is all the Asian ingredients and products. Its probably cleaner than the other 99 Ranch Markets Ive been too.
My only complaint is that the parking lot had shopping carts in too many places where they shouldnt be.
Love 99Great fish. Condiments and fresh cooked food to goEven hard liquor prizes are great
We starts going there 20 yes ago
Asian place to be on a Monday. Not much people to deal with at the seafood counter;)
Good selection, but not the lowest price
I go to this place for SoGo bakery they make delicious and amazing birthday cakes. You can order just an hour before your pick up too. I like mango, tiramasu, mocha flavours. The cake is very soft and less sugar. Been customer from many years and also referred to many of my friends.Thank you SoGo for mataining quality and taste👌👌👌
The best place for asian groceries.
Some checkout clerks treats different people with different attitudes, they need to learn how to become a human being first.
So many different fruits especially during this summer season. I have been seeing a lot of special fruits that I have never seen before. It’s exciting to try new and fresh fruits. And 99 ranch never lets me down. Delicious and great to share with family. Recently, I have been loving this fruit called rambutan (imported from guatemala). Tastes and looks similar to lychee. Yummmyy
Its a good place to pick up some items. Great vegetables. Open until 9 pm.
They have Kyoto beer!
Ordered at a kiosk. In 10 minutes the fried chicken and plum fries were ready.
Clean. Well stocked. Deli inside. No more indoor dining Everything is outdoors in terms of dining.
Good selection of Asian groceries. Selection was fresh and displayed well! Service was fine!
Its a reliable place to get Asian groceries but they often lack the things that I am looking for from other cultures its definitely more focused on Chinese food.
People working in the store were not very friendly or helpful.
Most Vegetables and Meats are available.
You can get many grocery from Asia!
Get variety of Asian produce.. well stocked always.
Hot food section is self-serve so you can definitely stuff as much food as you can in the take-out containers. And youll be surprised how much packs in there. One time, I packed what I thought was full to the brim. But the staff at the counter probably thought I was a rookie and went ahead to help me stuff so much more in the box. Loved that and I didnt even ask her.
Well organized and tidy! I love that 99 Ranch gives back to the community essentially every week with their cooking class with kids. It creates such a sense of community and builds up healthy habits for kids in a fun environment. Cooking can be fun and learn some nutrition too!
Nice shop. Fresh fish
One of the best 99 ranch in the bay has almost everything asian ingredients. Great produce section
Well you know why you are here. Pretty much the same as other ranch 99 locations.
There were many types of choice to pick from, I like to buy my stuff first then eat there since they give you like pink papers of money that you can use at the food area. Top notch!!
Not bad - not clear that the carts are sanitized though
Get that fish 🐟🐟 🍤 fried or Ill take it home daddy 😂
The place for Asian groceries!
Its the best time of year! 99 Ranch always catches the essence and spirit of Chinese New Year. This year CNY is so close to the New Years, I love the extended holiday feelings. Experiencing both western and eastern cultures and getting a taste of home. Thank you 99 Ranch for working to bridge cultures through your food, staff and environment.
Good produce and asian good variety
Good asian grocery store. Authentic Chinese food and snacks
I really like this grocery market. I will always walk away with bags filled with cheap unique fruits and vegetables. There are even a lot of organic options with super reasonable prices. Even if you can’t read Chinese or other Asian language that is on the packaging, staff members are always friendly and helpful in helping you figure exactly what it is you want or are looking for.
A huge variety of Asian foods to choose from. Assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables that sometimes it is hard to choose from. Always fresh and clean, which is a good prolem to have. Conveniently located near my home which is a plus. Love trying new things here.
They need to upgrade their carts. Most of other things I dont like about this place are pretty much part of how they normally operate -- narrow aisles, fish smell, expiring veggies etc.
Price gauging going on here and watch your receipt! Was charged for something I did not buy (over $10 more charged). The groceries are double the cost now here and not worth the trip. Go to Marina or order online from Weee instead.
Whole foods are not so fresh
This is the Chinese grocery store we go most often. Wide varieties. You can get pretty everything for your kitchen. The vegetables are fresh and price is affordable. It has been there for a long time. Dependable store.
I generally good grocery, especially green stuff like vegetables, but fish and shrimp not always fresh, I bought last time shrimp that smelled rotten and was rotten.
Good store with large selection of groceries. Some on the products they sell are not easy to find in our stores. E.g. kelp, offal products, some kinds of dried berries and fruits.
Clean. Staff not very social or helpful. The store is had good sales on items I needed. That was a plus.
Check your receipts, I find more often than not that there is a price mistake somewhere on my receipt.
Lots of stuff you cant find elsewhere but a bit dirty
I usually come to this Ranch 99 after I catch up with friends over food in this plaza. And it never disappoints especially when I want to buy fresh fruit and veggies that I cant find in American supermarkets. The prices are always reasonable with different sales going on every week. I especially love the Asian pears because they are so much more sweeter and juicer than the normal pears you find. These Asian pears are slightly bigger and rounder than the typical pears we usually see.
Good selection of asian foods.
Good selection of Asian food. I needed galangal and Thai peppers. They had both.
Typical Asian market, well stocked and good prices. Everyone wore masks so it felt safe.
Get some hard to find Chinese food right here.
Located in such a convenient location within a plaza with so much dining options. Makes it easier for us as a family when we go out to eat in this plaza and also do some grocery shopping together. 99 ranch should be your go-to place for all things related to Asian food or products. You cant go wrong from their fresh seasonal produce, beauty products, alcohol options, or cooking ingredients. The staff are super helpful and knowledgable about the products too if you have any questions.
Great Place for paying Chinese food
Great selections of fruits, vegetables (the usual grocery store essentials), but they also have some makeup products including popular brands in Asia of face masks (Sleeping Diary). Once I was in a crunch to buy some disposable utensils and 99 ranch had a box of them for just a buck! My friend got a rice cooker too and shes been loving it!Basically 99 ranch market can be your 1 stop shop for all things food and other essentials (especially if youre looking for a more Asian-centric store!)
Fresh fish, mangoes and litchi fruit - best place for these.
This grocery store also has a fast food take out or eat in Chinese food restaurant. Ive been going there for the past 5 years. They always have very good food and very friendly service. I highly recommended it.
Good place to get asian foods. A lot of the stuff here you can’t get anywhere else. They have a cool but small and not really well taken care of collection of money trees and orchids. Overall nice place.
This store has so many varieties of produce and I recently found some lotus root that I have been loving. I have been making sure that I am hitting my recommended daily servings of vegetables everyday. Trying to mainly stick to unprocessed foods allows my body the chance to prevent future chronic diseases. The lotus root has a slightly sweet tangy taste with a crunchy texture. Ive just been slicing them into cross sections and making a stir fry dish or you can make it into a stew. These vegetables are high in dietary fiber, vitamin C and vitamin A!
Ovwrall, what you would expect from a Ranch 99.The freshness of produce at this location depends on the type could be hit or miss.On the positive, this location still has coupons for the deli when you make a purchase with a minimum amount ($20 I believe). Beware of the very short expiration date on the coupon, so its best to use them quick!Parking is challenging most of the time as it is in a busy shopping plaza.
Love the coupons they give you to use towards the deli or pastries! Worth it!
Reckless customers don’t care about social distancing here, believing masks is all they need for protection. Also no carts cleaning, no distance markers, store doesn’t enforce rules. Only repeated voices messages about it.
Typical 99 ranch market. We prefer this one as it is close to Costco, so we can have entire grocery done with these two places. You can find all Asian groceries here with lot of options for sea food.
Pretty typical of the smaller 99 Ranch in the Bay Area. Good prices and good selection of goods but lacking in produce compared to most of their Southern California counterparts here in the state.
A great place to shop for all kinds of produce....but their prepared foods & bakery are not sowonderful & more like Fast Food.Veges, Tea, Bottled, Canned Goods, Rice, & moreare at bargain prices. Everything you need tomake fantastic Chinese meals are here, be itVegan or other. One of the nicest 99 Ranch Markets around.Parking can be a challenge & people drive like manicsin the area...so beware!
Good selection. Cash out service is slow.
Usually Im pretty humble about food markets. But. This particular shop is a gem. And I mean it. Whether you cooking or not, looking for an Asian food or Mediterranean. Go for it. This place is a must to visit place. Youll be happy.Clean, neat, well structured. A huge variety. Either I need to rank it with 6 stars, or to review my previous places. Thanks for the good place.
My go to spot for Chinese groceries. Occasionally, Ill stop by during the week for lunch and do some quick shopping. Their beef noodle soup is consistent and quick. This particular location prepares their soy sauce chicken better than other 99 Ranch Markets. The shopping center is busy so parking can be a bit of a chore especially around dim sum time on the weekends.
Great choice of veggies and seafood options. Parking can get tough and at times you need to wait long before you can find a spot. However the store itself is great and is a one stop for everything. Go to place for fresh seafood with a lot of variety.
