Update as of 8/23/21. Moving from 4 stars to 1 star.After working with a salesperson for about 2 weeks, we found a car and had it on hold. We wrote up a purchase agreement and sent it to the Credit Union. The loan office at the credit union was on vacation and didnt respond to the sales persons attempt to fax the purchase agreement. Despite my telling the salesperson that wed figure out what was going on on Monday, he sold the car out from under us over the weekend. This place is SKETCHY and I recommend that you keep one hand on your wallet while youre there. This is a shark tank masquerading as a nice guy business.*********************************************I like the no haggle thing, but their prices seem to be consistently higher than Blue Book value. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. The experience is so unlike a normal dealer I cant figure out their motivation.

My experience was very good. They offered me a very fair price for my vehicle. Once I arrived at the store the process was very efficient and the staff was very helpful.

Amy and Nina took very good care of me at the Milwaukee location. It was very busy there, but both ladies were sweet and personable. The process of selling my car was pretty convenient and easy.

I sold my car to CarMax, and it went great. I got my quote from them, and I was initially concerned that i wouldn’t get what they said in their internet quote, but I got exactly what they quoted. The visit was quick and seamless, all in all, I was very pleased with my experience.

My experience was great. Even though we’re still in the process of getting a car, I still appreciate the help we have received and the “no hassle”atmosphere. You can honestly take your time to look around and see what vehicle is best for you, ask questions and find out things you need to know. The majority of workers there are nice and very helpful. I would definitely come back here to look for another vehicle when that time comes, and I would definitely recommend to a family member or friend!

I was told by my new car lease salesperson that I could sell my older car at the end of that lease. I was unaware that I could do that. I thought I just had to turn it in. I did an appraisal check with CarMax and Carvana. CarMax was higher so I took my car to them in Milwaukee, WI. They were very cordial and professional and efficient. I found that VW Credit would charge CarMax about $10,000 more than the residual amount owning at the end of the lease. This does not seem legal - I am an attorney and it think that should be challenged in court sometime by a lessee or CarMax. So, I paid the residual amount off myself and then sold the car myself to CarMax. I would recommend CarMax to everyone wishing to sell a car hassle-free or to buy a car. The experience with CarMax was very rewarding and easier than dealing with a car dealership. Thank you!

I did an online quote request. I then took my car in for an in person eval. The quotes were the same. Everyone in the office area was very helpful and caring.

My husband and I had an incredible experience at this location with our salesman Mark Kolp. Mark was on the ball from the start and so friendly and easy to work with. He also ended up staying over an hour and half later than his shift to get us in our new car. Top notch service. We will definitely go back for future cars and request Mark!

Our purchase process was awesome and super easy! When trying to contact the service department, good luck… we tried leaving a voice mail and calling during business hours, but never got a response. We reached out to the Carmax social care email on 9/30 in the am but still have no response.

2nd time Ive purchased a car at this location. I worked with the same sales rep. I didnt like that she skipped a few steps a long the way. But in the end I understood why. Getting into the business office to sign your documents can often be the longest part of the process. Id complete financing online and had my insurance locked and loaded. So with an appointment right at open, she was pushing me through to be the first in the business office so I wouldnt have to be there for hours. And it worked. From the time I walked in the door to the time I drove off the lot I was only there about 45 to 55 minutes. And with a 30 day return policy, I can take it back if I dont like it. So needless to say I was very please with my experience in this trip.

I was overall pleased with process. Willie, who took care of our final step was excellent! My only slight criticism, is it would have been nice if appraiser could have taken test drive instead of waiting twice. Otherwise we were quite pleased.

Got ripped off on selling my car. The offer they give you online is what you get. No. I didnt have to accept it. But then trying to get your money is impossible. If I didnt have a bank account I wouldnt have been able to cash it. Even Wells Fargo that is on the check wont cash it. So if you need cash. Dont think it will be fast. Just disappointed

Both the appraisal process for our old vehicle and the test drive and purchase of our new vehicle was the smoothest process for buying a car I have ever experienced. We received a surprisingly high offer for our old 07, $500 more than the dealership offered us. The associates were helpful and quick. The next day, we received a phone call saying we had to come in and re-sign some paperwork that was lost/deleted. They were very flexible on when, and offered us both a tank of gas and 100 towards their service center for their mistake. Good customer service saved the 5 star review, despite the mix up.Week later edit: we had to return and re-sign everything because they deleted our e-signed paperwork. We came back in, signed everything by hand being told sign here, sign here... they gave us a tank of gas and some service coupons and we were on our way. On the way home, they called my wife and blamed a missed signature on me, when I was told exactly where to sign. They are fast, but not careful enough.

Ive bought 2 cars from Carmax, great place to buy. I went to purchase another about 2 weeks ago and every time I was about to sign for the car the price kept going up. I told them the monthly payment budget I wanted, by the time we were done, the price was $177 over my max budget. I felt like he wasnt even listening to me, I ended up leaving without the car. I may go back in the future, but for now I will keep looking. Nice cars, service could be better and dont let them talk you into something you cant afford.

My entire experience with CarMax was great from the initial online estimate of my cars value to the actual sale of my car for the original estimate.

I bought my last car with CarMax in December 2020, right after a terrible car accident that someone hit me in my drivers side at 66 mph, and totaled my Honda SI. Staff that specifically assisted me was constantly on their phone, talking to each other, treated me like a formality and just another easy sell. No real customer service or care out into my transaction.Was told they sell a car every 2 min so why bother offering any new car incentives. I appreciate the ease of purchasing a car but a little dignity would be nice.The service department never returned my call about some scratches and malfunctioning on my vehicle. Will be trying to follow up for the third time today.If you’re not in the market for customer service and just an easy car buying transaction... totally go here!Otherwise, don’t expect much in the department of care or consideration for your purchase personally.

First time going to CarMax I had a good experience they had a nice selection of different types of cars that you can buy I was pretty much satisfied now I have to do is running the car and see if anything goes wrong I have a 30-day warranty on this particular car well something happened I can bring it in and hopefully they should take care of it well matter of fact Im finished driving around now hoping youre done anything wrong but if it do Ill take it back I have a 30-day warranty also as far as if Im not satisfied with the car they are giving me my money back or I can find another car I hope I dont have to do that because Im pretty happy with the car that I have right now just keeping my fingers crossed hoping that dont nothing really seriously going wrong with it well Ill take that back if they do theyll fix it after the 30 days its on me so well see

This is the second time Ive purchased a car with CarMax. The process was smooth and my sales associate Nate was great to work with.

The transfer of the vehicle process was HORRIBLE, never got a tracking number, and the check in quality check took a whole week (when each rep told me it’ll take a day or 2) - once the vehicle was cleared to go the salesperson and process was great. They didn’t overcome the issues that I had but I have no problems with how they treated me from that point on.I didn’t get my Bow either 🧐

Got a Subaru forester 2014 with low mileage and low price. I love it, its in perfect conditions and yes it took 2 to 3 hours to get it, but hey, I came without any info prepared and they search it for me. Advice to people who MAKING UP their numbers- they know it!

Purchase a 2015 Hyundai Tucson from Car Max in Milwaukee Wisconsin I have had seven chill trucks on this vehicle brought to service and repair the engine was replaced back in May the air-conditioning has not worked since then I have tried to make appointments for service they always call me back and tell me they’re too busy so since May I have not had air-conditioning today I had called at 8 o’clock this morning trying to get an appointment I talk to Chantel and try Did you I paid $150-$200 extra month on the car to keep a warranty I have had seven tow trucks it’s been in there for repair seven times I started at 8 o’clock this morning until 4 o’clock I still haven’t got this car fixed I need to get the car fixed and I need to arrange of a rental and I am about 20 miles away from them I have faithfully paid my portion of the payments to capital one on time but I still can’t get this car fixed I have called the sales person Brandy penny to get an explanation on why I was sold a car that was like this. I finally received a call back at about 5 o’clock from a dealership that is willing to take the vehicle and also I need to report that the person that did the engine that was John Amato in Milwaukee Wisconsin they refused to take the car remember there’s a warranty out on this car I need help and I am absolutely at my wits and I have to work I have to get around and I’m still paying for the car so please do not go to Car Max because this is just absolutely ridiculous that they leave me like this and 13 like thisFix the car or take it back but just don’t leave a person like this you just don’t

Wow! Im hard to impress but they did it. 2010 Sonata. 162k miles. Wheelwell rust, not structural but ugly. Chunk out of the front bumper. KBB private sale maybe $3k if you happen to find a buyer. Online quote $2700. So Im thinking Ill get there and be told $900 like the last dealership I went to. NOPE! 2 hours and out the door with a check for $2700. If you like the quote, go get it sold without haggling, making appointments with no show buyer, getting low ball offers from random Facebook/Craigslist creepers.

Great experience fir my first time buying a vehicle. Wasn’t a hassle like I thought it would.

My husband and I moved here in July and our beautiful 2008 Chevy Cobalt died proudly in our new city. It was meant to be and so I had the idea to take advantage of this wonderful business and so I did. The process of getting a car was so easy because of these wonderful people who attend to you so closely and so well the moment you step into the building.I met Melissa Marie as she was our sales lady for our now beautiful 2013 Ford Focus. She was so very laid-back and was very knowledgeable of everything that we needed to do that day. This is just a great dealership that really pays attention to their customers. She kept us informed all the way and never stopped even after the purchase.Unfortunately, I had to take the car back to the car service at CarMax, five days after the purchase. The car was just acting not quite right and I was a little tense at this point because the Chevy, which gave us 6 great years, was just a problem vehicle from day one. Anyway, my tension was immediately erased from my system from when I met, Kurt. He is a fantastic mechanic and stayed with me the entire time the car was in the shop. It took about 2 weeks but that was because he was severely booked but he didnt keep me out of the loop at all. He even took the car to Ford because of some electric issues and they were able to replace what was needed. Kurt deserves an award for being so kind to a crazy, irrational, white lady who was crying and swearing at her husband the day that she came in. I was never treated as such because Kurt and the others in there, kept me cool, calm, and collected. We have our 2013 Ford Focus back and it drives better then ever. Im so very grateful toward Kurt. If you want someone who will have your back and stand by your side the entire way, ask for Kurt. He is your man.

This place is unprofessional we sat for 2 hours then had me buy insurance. Brought in everything that was asked then we almost done finally. She came back with my work stubs stating that I had to go to Walmart and get a print out of me cashing my work checks. That’s ridiculous and a waste of time and too much info. When I had real stubs and I work for a whole real business. I will be calling fox 6 and better business!!

I paid for a transfer and was told I would be contacted when the vehicle arrived. I received no call or voicemail. When I called to check on the vehicle, they didn’t know which car I was referencing. Once we found the car they informed me it wasn’t on hold.The car buying process went much smoother. My reps/agents were efficient and professional. The only other issue was the check oil light came on before I drove it off the lot.

Carmax really makes the car buying process easier. They shipped the cars I was interested in for free and didn’t guilt me when I didn’t like one. The one I did like had a few scratches and they were quick to take care of it and make it look brand new for me free of charge. My sales associate Pakou was a life saver, she was very easy to communicate with via text or phone and she answered all our questions. At first, we were assigned to someone else who left us waiting 45 minutes and never showed up. However, when I asked Pakou by chance if she knew where that other employee was, she immediately said she’ll help us instead and we are so glad that happened. Overall great experience.

I came late on a Saturday night after a very long and tiring day at a dealership. Despite being tired and cranky, Sean and Jennifer were absolutely amazing. Especially Jennifer, who went out of her way to fix a miscommunication.

Tried to tell us that a vehicle with a bad transmission had frozen to the ground because (he) washed it to make it look good for the test drive. Were old, not stupid. We walked.

Milwaukee location didnt do a good of going over the car. Called them about my maintenance light the said come in and we inspected. I asked was the air filter cabin air and the coolant was exchanged the said yes. The lied about that only thing was done the car before I purchased it was an oil change. I end up having to drop it off to the waukesha location to have it inspected coolant exchange air filter and cabin air filter replaced
