THIS π PLACE π IS π AMAZING.I love it I love it. It always hard to find vegan yeast donuts (in my opinion) and here the vegan donut selection is awesome and rotating. The toffee mocha donut had me questioning what Iβd been doing for breakfast the past years of my life. The hot chocolate is also delectable and warming. The service is freaking wonderful and helpful, and itβs the best start to my morning.TREAT YO SELF and try one and then come back again and again like me
Holey Moley these are good donuts! Super enjoyed the variety and freshness of the donuts. The people working were also so nice. Very easy to access from The Hop streetcar at the third ward stop. If you have a particular donut flavor you want, you can also reserve it the day before to make sure you get it! They also have vegan options! Keep in mind theyre only open in the morning. Excited to go back again!
What happened to the vegan donuts? They used to be amazing. Came in this morning, got a couple vegan donuts, they looked and tasted NOTHING like what I am used to getting from this place. The chocolate cherry donut used to be light as air with a wonderful dark red glaze. Now, it looks and tastes like dog food. Who changed the recipe? See my comparison photos - would you eat the lump of dog food I was given this morning? Or would you prefer the beautiful, glossy, delicious donuts I was given one year ago? My favorite donut shop is hereby ruined and I wont be back(Note- the picture from one year ago features a dark red glazed chocolate cherry donut, the donut from today is a disgusting brown plop)
Great doughnuts! I had a pumpkin filled doughnut and it was awesome! Also had the Homer which was great too! I had the apple pie filling doughnut which I didnt care for too much, but I am picky when it comes to apple pie filling. You may like it so definitely try it! Will definitely go back when I come through downtown Milwaukee again!
First off, Iβm definitely a sweets and doughnuts kind of guy. Iβve been coming to this shop since its inception and not embarrassed to say some of the employees started recognizing me all too much. I love cake doughnuts and they make some of the tastiest Iβve ever had, hence I keep going back. Iβve eaten donuts in Portland, San Diego, NYC, Chicago, Austin, etc. and Holey Moley still remains near or even at the top of the list for me. My utter weakness has been their concoctions such as the Diablo Rojo (red velvet cake dipped in chocolate and topped with peanut butter chips and Nutella), Cookie Dough (glazed chocolate cake actually topped with a heap of cookie dough), coffee cake old-fashioned, and the recent addition of Peanut Butter Chocolate. Oh, and how can I forget when they decided they should offer doughnut frozen custard sandwiches. My only gripe is I havenβt visited nearly as much as I used to. Did I mention they have a rotating wide selection each day and Saturdays are dedicated to vegans? They may be a bit pricier than your run-of-the-mill Ma and Pa shop but Iβd say theyβre more than worth a stop in while visiting the Third Ward. Iβd also suggest stopping in earlier in the morning as they can sell-out pretty quickly.
Great place with awesome vegan donuts π!!! Definitely worth a visit. We drove all the way from Chicago to get donuts here because after initial try few months ago we still couldnt find donuts like these anywhere in Chicago. Hopefully you guys are planning to open some Chicago location in near future or we will be there again soon π!!!
My husband and I will ride our bikes from Racine to holy moly in Milwaukee, they are that good. We truly miss you and hope you open soon.
Iβm more of a cupcake person but this place is freaking awesome. Best doughnuts ever. I could get drunk on all their doughnut selections. Once covid becomes a thing of the past This is the first place Iβm hitting. Iβm hoping that temporarily closed is just temporary. The doughnuts are that good!
Really really good donuts! They had several vegan options and not just one, like most cafes do. Their donuts were perfect, not greasy or fried, but baked so they were dense yet fluffy. Their prices were very reasonable, and the staff was casual and polite. I highly recommend them!!
Easily the best donuts in the city and definitely worth every penny. If youβre going to splurge on calories do yourself a favor and forget the chain donuts. Spend an extra dollar, support a local business and enjoy something crafted with passion. We all talk about how hard it is for small family businesses these days so letβs show some love and buy some donuts. Really great donuts. Itβs a win win. Anything you get will be flabbergastingly good.
These donuts are AMAZING!! The only trouble is getting there early enough to get your pick, as once they run out for the day they close. I highly recommend the peanut butter based one or just the plain old glazed- these are my go tos and I have yet to be disappointed!
Not impressed. We went in at 10 oclock on a Sunday morning and there was no line. That was great. The selection was limited. I asked about that and they indicated they had a rotating stock. Understandable. Its a very small shop. I cant imagine what lines are like in that place. Theres almost no seating. The donuts were pricey. We took them home to eat. There was nothing special. Unfortunately the Boston cream donut was less cream inside and more liquid filling and leaked a lot. It wasnt a great experience. It wasnt great food. We wont be back.
Not open on saturday 10/3/20 probably for COVID. Need to update google
Great place for artisan and gluten free donuts. Nice venue and ambience but parking can be difficult
Im vegan and a donut fanatic. Ive had vegan donuts all over the country and Holy Moleys offerings can go toe to toe with some of the best. I stumbled on the on a trip to Milwaukee and saw their were vegan options. Usually that means one or two options and Im always happy to have options, but with Holey Moley that mean there were than half a dozen vegan options to choose from.
I like the cool donut creations, however the price at times outweighs the quality. Still a great donut place
Always a new flavor to choose from. Ive never been let down.
Doughnuts were great! They seem like they are baked versus fried, which I highly prefer. Coffee was good too! A nice selection of vegan doughnuts!
The Homer was super sweet, as expected. Loved the cookie dough doughnut and the doughnut holes too. Staff was helpful with suggestions.
So many delicious options to chose from, I simply could not just try one. And then...get this.....they change up their menu daily...mind blownπ€― I will be back at least 6 more times
Only place I know I can get vegan donuts, and theyre amazing here.
I went on a trip to Milwaukee with my dog, and I was happy to find ont that this shop is inside a dog friendly building! They have a nice seating areas, but there are lots of nice benches outside in this neighborhood as well. Their boston cream is the best donut Ive ever had :D
I was very excited to finally come here! We tried three donuts. I loved their pumpkin and their chai donuts. They were very moist and sweet. It was well worth the $2 per donut.
Not only is it donuts (already great), they have awesome flavors and are made with love
Very nice people. Got there about noon so most of the doughnuts were picked over but that certainly wasnt their fault - just a word to wise - get there early. Nice clean place. People were nice. Doughnuts we just ok.
My favorite place in Milwaukee. My husband has made special trips to Milwaukee from Indiana just to surprise me with vegan donuts. The people are always nice and the donuts are delicious.
Great vegan options, good donuts, always have had good costumer service...but on the pricy side in my opinion. Still willing to pay the price tho for the flavor :)
Great selection of doughnuts. Even better flavor! They also had great coffee.Staff was well educated on all of the allergy related questions and concerns.
These donuts are amazing and always a great treat for the office. Sadly they have been closing stores lately so this is one of the few remaining in the Milwaukee area.
Craving good donuts. Google in downtown Milwaukee. Bingo. In comparison to some other mediocre reviews, I had no problem with either freshness nor selection on a Thursday morning at 11:00. Staff was quick and friendly (even gave me a compliment on my outfit!?!?), selection was still very good. And the donuts... were... FANTASTIC. Really good donuts.A bit on the pricy side, and the hotel-lobby feel isnt exactly cozy, but if artisan donuts is what youre looking for, Holey Money will hook you up.
You will love Holey Moley Doughnuts! Get there fast for the best selection of unique flavors and toppings---once a certain flavor is sold out for the day, youll learn your lesson and set your alarm to get up early next time! I got the Coffee Cake doughnut and it had the perfect amount of sugar cinnamon crumble and cake----soooo good with a nice cup of coffee!
The donuts and cookies and croissants are great, also theyre just really nice people. Worth a visit.
We visited and asked if they knew if their products had soy and none of the employees there had a clue and website had no information. So I sent an email to see for future reference and hope for better service. Ediths reply. We do train our counter staff to advise anyone with allergies not eat our doughnuts. Clearly they do not want me business and I am okay with that. I do no want to support a business that discriminates people with allergies.
I didnt think I even liked donuts that much until trying Holey Moley. Turns out, I like GOOD donuts and these definitely hit the mark.
Okay so all they had were cake donut today, I do not like cake donut but decided since I made the drive all the way over there I would buy two...wholly moley are they awesome!!! My only regret is that I did not get 1/2 dozen. They could teach bakers how to make cake donuts. I WILL be back.
Working in an Emergency Room. Someone who I assume works for this location came and dropped off a bunch of left overs for our staff. Made my night and the hospital staff greatly appreciated it. I had the coffee cake donut and would most definitely get it again! Thanks donut fairy!
This place has such a cute atmosphere! The donuts are gourmet and unique. Theyre gluten free donuts are to die for! Well worth stopping in or even going out of your way!
Cute, little shop in the 3rd Ward area. Delicious donuts, too!
We arrived 15 minutes after it had closed but the very nice employee opened back up so we could make a purchase.
I love this place! Drop in for exceptional and inventive donuts anytime I can!
Their donuts are incredible. They have such a unique and diverse selection each time I have gone here. It is pricey but the quality is very high. Eggless and gluten free options are very good as well.
Gotta stop for gluten free donuts and coffee every time we are in town!
Very good donuts and many different choices. I thought the atmosphere would be a little more fun.
The worker was lookin kinda fresh doe π³ and the donuts shlap π€ͺπ₯΄π₯΄π₯΄
We Love holey moley. The powdered sugar donuts are my favorite!
One of the only places for vegan donuts in Milwaukee and the taste makes you wonder why any donut isnt vegan.
Their vegan doughnuts are outstanding, wish their was a larger selection.
Very happy that they have gluten free and vegan donut options! Service is pretty good here as well.
Someone brought them in to work today, Ive never had them before. I had one with a chocolate topping and bacon. It had some sort of peanut butter filling. I liked the idea, but the doughnut itself had the taste and texture of a week old biscuit, and the filling made me want to gag. Disgusting, Ill never go here, and will pass if ever offered one again.
Donuts were good. I had the chai and coffee cake donuts. They prices were great and the person working the counter was friendly. The coffee was nice and hot.
I waited in a 30 minute line situated in a cramped area right next to the doors for a below average donut that was obviously made hours ago. They claim to offer all these options, but when I went at 9 am they had sold out of everything but two flavors. Please try to accommodate the crowds you expect to visit your establishment by maybe providing more donuts? Oh, and perhaps think about putting more workers on duty. As far as I could see there was just one person in uniform handling the entire mess of a situation. 10/10 would not recommend.
Worth every penny. The best donuts youll ever have!
Great selection! Canβt go wrong w the baby cinnamon spice donuts
Highly recommend the matcha doughnuts. Went on a hunt for vegan doughnuts and Holey Moley delivered.
Stopped in on a weekday morning, only one person working - they got through a line of 6 customers in no time. Doughnuts are very rich and moist. First bite had me saying βholey moley.β
Keep the Baby Spice coming (gluten free b and vegan! Its the only place I can buy donuts!)
I love going to this place at Miller Park and getting the donuts with Ice Cream!
So nice to have a place with vegan donuts. I really hope they can open up a riverwest location. Also the staff was incredibly delightful.
These guys have the best doughnuts I have ever tried hands down. The Mexican Hot Chocolate doughnuts are amazing. They have the most diverse selection of types and tastes that I have ever seen. Well worth the cost.
Some of the best donuts Ive ever had! Tuesdays are BOGO. The spice ones were my favorite!
Amazing options, amazing staff, amazing deals! I want to see this place blow up with customers! They deserve it. I go here once a week at least. Get a punch card. Get coffee. Get doughnuts. Just know that you cant get doughnut holes unless you pre-order.
I just had Holey Moley for the first time today. I cant find a gluten free donut anywhere unless its in the freezer section at a grocery store (oh so fresh, NOT). Can I just say if I could marry a doughnut, I would..but only if it is from Holey Moley. I ate them right after my work out and regret nothing. They were moist and beautiful. I love you Holey Moley!
Was too sweet and overpriced. I asked if a donut had icing in addition to frosting and was told no, so I bought it. Wrong answer. Adding more sugar does not make it taste better.
We heard about Holey Moley from our friend. Vegan donuts in Milwaukee!!! The donuts were super awesomely delicious. We had the choco glazed cake and the PB and J raised yeast donut. They both totally rocked. We also ordered a soy steamer. Loved it. Service was perfect. Bathrooms upstairs were clean and nice. Thanks Holey Moley! Hope youll become a mainstay in Milwaukee and keep cranking out the delicious vegan donuts!
Great vegan options, decent service. The iced coffee was good with drinks priced accordingly. I wish they had a deal for half a dozen. Monday and Tuesday have great specials/discounts though. The only other doughnut place I frequent is dunkin or krispy kreme so the price of the doughnuts were slightly higher than I am used to.
Just ok I was expecting better.
Good donuts, just get there early before they run out. This was a need for Milwaukee and it looks to be run well so hopefully it will be around for a while.I had a Nutella donut that was to die for. Top 10 donut of my life, and Ive been to a lot of top shops around the US.
These are probably the best doughnuts in Wisconsin, and the best ones of what I have tried. The salted chocolate whiskey is phenomenal. Every time I am in Milwaukee for work I try my best to stop here.
My wife loves the Doughnuts and i take her there often. I respect the attention to people with gluten sensitivity. However, they sell out of all the popular flavors FAST before 9am most times. The reason for 1 star: I took my wife here at about 8:15 am Saturday April 15th. There was a line of 3 couples in front of us. The couple who was ordering had a young dog on a leash. I dont like animals in places were food is served or sold. The sight of the dog was bothering enough as there was also doughnuts in a dish on top of the display case, no barrier separating them from the dog. The dog was also not well behaved or trained, it was pulling at the leash trying to jump on or run over to us and everyone else that passed by. I dont care for dogs and dont want some ones random dog jumping on me. We will not be a customer of Holey Moley Doughnuts anymore as when the Lady working behind the counter finished ringing the couple up, she asked to pet the dog. After petting the dog she continued to make a coffee for the next costumer WITH OUT WASHING HER HANDS OR PUTTING ON GLOVES! My wife and I were STUNNED and DISGUSTED. Apparently this place is dog friendly that may be a positive for some people, but we will no longer be going there.
One of the best doughnut places Ive been to. I try to stop by every time Im in town.Love the Passionfruit Coconut!Interesting flavor but also classic flavors. If you find yourself in the Third Ward area this is a great place to get a little sugar pick me up.
Gotta get there early in the morning. Very unique. Good dougnuts
Ive finally found a doughnut shop that tops my hometown favorite shop. My top favorites are the Boston Cream (I could go on and on about the chocolate ganache), the Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Glaze (and Im not even Vegan) as well as the Maple Pecan. But the best part is there is always something new to try as they offer new options with the changing seasons.Yes you do need to get there early for the best options - but theres a reason they sell out. Theyre that good!
All of the donuts are great. You wont be disappointed!
Tasty doughnuts, but they were sold out at 10:15am on a Wednesday, when theyre supposed to stay open until 1pm. They need to plan their stock better!
Delicious food, friendly staff!
Delicious (and large) donuts. Lots of variety.
They have pretty great vegan doughnuts, but they dont label any of them as vegan - probably because they dont want to put off non-vegans. However, this means that any vegan varieties are often sold out (bought by mostly non-vegans) very quickly, so if you want to a good selection of vegan flavors, order ahead.
Was extremely disappointed to walk to Holey Moley and discover they were completely out of all gluten free donuts. Its extremely challenging eating out with a gluten allergy and this place did not give any condolence that they were out. Update your website if you are not going to always offer allergy friendly foods.Do not recommend to vegans or anyone with a gluten intolerance or allergy
Had coffee and donuts and both were very good. Very friendly staff as well.
Delicious! Loved the peanut butter filled one with bacon! They also had gluten free donuts, which I have not tried yet, but am excited to!
Very expensive for doughnuts 16 bucks for only half of a dozen there is Not much of a selection, can get two dozen for that price at KK. Also hot chocolate was not even hot. Never will I pay that for a doughnut overpriced definitely not worth it. Iβll stick with Krispy Kreme way cheaper and taste better.ππΌππΌ
Delicious donuts! Ordered a dozen assorted and dozen cake donuts for superbowl. Everyone loved them. My favorite was the PBJ donut.
They basically have gourmet donuts here and the price reflects that. A little pricey (you may not be buying a dozen to bring into the office), but well worth a visit or too. Treat yourself!
A little pricey but the doughnuts are very good. I go here every year and pick up a dozen doughnuts for the boys at work.
The only thing you have to know is that these are the best doughnuts in the city. It is not even close.Get there early because they sell out of flavors early. BEST DOUGHNUTS IN THE CITY!
Um, hello Milwaukee, why dont you have more doughnut shops? Thanks Holey Moley for filling a doughnut shaped void in Milwaukee with delicious, unique and creative flavors. I was sad when Milwaukee Cupcake Company vacated this space, but overjoyed by their replacement. I highly recommend a visit to this shop!
I love the doughnuts at this place. Theres always a new type to try and discover. Try the Fast Elvis.
