Insomnia made some mistakes that resulted in our order taking 2 hours...we understand things happen but there were was no communication until Nia answered!! GIVE HER A RAISE, she deserves it. Came here with my best friend July 26th. We stood outside trying to figure out what we wanted for awhile, in the process of this we were watching people and the service. Service at this point seemed decent but as time went on, we noticed how their behaviors changed towards certain customers...paid it no mind and ordered anyways. Its late so theres a wait.. we sat outside at the church thats about two stores away from insomnia cookies so we can see them. They can see us.. 30 mins go by we stopped an associate to ask about a status update for our order and to join them, we arent in a car, were sitting on the steps right over there. Associate says ok ill be back with your order shortly. Another 50 mins goes by. Customers build up standing outside and the workers noticeably became short/rude with everyone. We asked for our order and they claimed to come out awhile ago looking for us and we didnt come to the door. I told her about the other associate we spoke with as well, just basically saying hey, we have been out here for a considerable amount of time and havent heard my name at all. Instead of acknowledging this, the worker (short with glasses) fussed back and says well....i called your name and its your fault that it took as long as it did. She gets our order but it doesnt come back as what we ordered. They left the milk I brought with it out so we were missing items. And her overall demeanor and attitude turned us completely off from the cookies/establishment. Our order wasnt warm or made properly. After she gave us our food she went in the store and turned the lights off. I wont be returning for awhile as this was my first bad/iffy experience with you all.

Purchased a very expensive cookie cake here and 90% of the cake was barely cooked dough. Only the outer edges were edible. The smaller cookies may be good but do not buy the cookie cake as clearly they do not know how to properly bake them.

I had to stand outside for 20+ minutes to have them fix my order after I called them back explaining that they missed part of my order. The lobby is closed so we had to stand outside and the person running the food did not come back to tell us what is going on. It was unfortunate and I feel every time I have ordered, the customer service has gotten worse.

I used to work here. I quit because I was moving. Started out good. Fired manager for no reason and left store with no manager, no schedule,, and short staffed for 2ish months. People in store were more then qualified for management position but were overlooked. They finally hired a manager (from another store) paid to move him over. After a few months he quit. Its been 3 months since I left. There are minimal employees trying as hard as they can with no outside help. One of the leads has years of management experience (lucky for insomnia) and has offered to be manager there but they continue to look over her (while she manages the store as best she can with the access she has and without the pay) just like they did the last time. Choosing to let the employees just deal with it. They have been offered raises and gift cards for all the extra they have done but not a single employee saw these raises or gift cards to say thank you.. The team when I was there was a great team and the ones that are left are from that team. Go easy on them, they are doing their best and they are just burned out. If the lobby is locked or there is a line down the side walk just know they hate it as much as you do. If the wait time is ages or they are just out of inventory they are doing what they can with the lack of staff and ability to fix inventory problems. Upper management doesnt care like the employees do. Please have a little patience for my old coworkers they deserve it. To my coworkers love you guys, you are strong, you got this.

I placed an order of just 6 cookies well before closing. Called the location to get a status update as the website said still processing for the past 30 minutes. Went to the physical location to see if we could just pick them up to see that they were closed at 12:30, well before their closing time of 1am. Called them again and they said they were not processing any more orders for the night so that they, the workers, could leave on time. Then was told our money would be returned in 3-4 days. Not going to be ordering from here.

Needed to sooth my sweet tooth with the nearest thing...and this was the place! Parking was difficult and I had to park around corner. Interior was less than I expected. Small counter, minimal customer seating, and the atmosphere seemed ...blasè. cookies were warm out of the oven, but they werent anything special! Best thing about this place was my cashiers helpful, pleasant attitude.

In store purchases apparently stop at 8pm however this is not specified on their website or Google maps and no sign was posted on the door. Cookies are good but not a successful trip.

1st visit since quarantine. My sister and I were looking forward to some warm cookies (even though she’s on crutches and has a cast), but this craving was not satisfied today at the North Ave location. We waited in line for about 5 minutes while the two in-store employees chatted between themselves without a single “hello” or “we’ll be with you in a minute.” Our patience ran out and so did my sister’s stamina on her crutches, so we left without cookies or any acknowledgement of our presence. Disappointed in this service today, and can’t see me returning here to spend my money.

Just happened 2 see this while driving. Remembered a friend posted about it on fb. So, I decided 2 check it out. The cookies are good. They also make cookie ice cream sandwiches & have a few vegan choices. However, its not a must have 4 me unless in the area & someone else wanted it. Subways cookies are just as good, if not better (& cheaper) & Classy Girl Cupcakes are in the same price range as Insomnia Cookies. Id rather get a cupcake.

Ordered a container of cookie butter because they forgot it with my first order. it’s been an hour since i ordered and i still haven’t gotten it. now my cookies are cold and i’m tired. don’t order here.

Didnt habw a problem till now, tired to order ice cream and cookies at 9 and wasnt able to get anything till 11, its currently 1am and ive got no cookies or ice cream and $25 charged to my card, I tried to call them and they just hung up. There was no problem like this until they updated their page.

They said someone had my “exact same name” (my name is Zaire btw) and they “might of accidentally handed it off” - He said he would bring me fresh cookies back and the cookies were definitely cold when I got Them. Not warm, not fresh. Horrible first experience here.

Served completely raw cookies, also use the same utensils and tools for vegan and allergies with no concern for customer service. The other locations Ive been to were FAR nicer.

The store and the employees were very nice, the store looked professional and well designed, and when I got the cookies they were very warm, yummy, and packaged in a cool little box.

Im a cancer patient and to celebrate my last round of chemotherapy my best friend ordered me some Insomnia Cookies for delivery! Well, to top it off, the Insomnia staff sent a personal message congratulating me too and they added a few extra cookies to my delivery. It made my day! That is truly above and beyond customer service and so heartwarming to me. Thank you guys!! Cheers!

Today is Valentine’s Day and my husband placed an order for a cookie cake in the shape of a heart on Monday 2/9/21 and today is 2/14/21. He called about 5 times. Each time there was a different status on our order. The final time the guy on the phone says they must made a mistake somehow and sent it out for delivery? .... This is not the first time we have had problems with this location. The last two previous times ordering from the 3rd street location downtown they delivered us the wrong order of cookies and we had to wait 2 hours for the correct batch to be delivered, and one of the batches of cookies was very hard and stale to taste. The customer service is terrible and we are irate that we had to alter our plans on Valentine’s Day due to their lack of service and communication. Unacceptable.

I started ordering cookies from here back in Mar/ Apr for delivery. They were so good and always warm and fresh that I probably ordered way more often than I should, especially since the prices are so high. A few weeks ago I ordered and waited over an hour and a half for the cookies. I live really close to this place, I only order delivery to limit contact. Customer service was really nice and offered to send another box but I did eventually get it, so they sent me a coupon instead. I tried to use the coupon today but the store sent my order without the free cookies. They also sent me raw cookies. Im really frustrated because these cookies are already over priced and they seriously just sent me thin cookies that are barely cooked... and not warm! I dont think I want to deal with this location anymore.

So I definitely wont be ordering from here again. I ordered earlier this evening and just now opened my box and the first cookie I pulled out had a long hair baked into it.

I Ordered 1 s’mores, 1 chocolate chunk, 2 snicker doodle, 1 peanut butter, and 2 white chocolate macadamia. They gave me 3 chocolate chunk, 4 snicker doodle, 4 peanut butter, and 1 s’mores. Told me the order would be ready by 12:15, waited 45 extra minutes just for them to give my order to someone else. For a place who only sells cookies and ice cream I didn’t think you could mess up that much.

I ordered online and about ten minutes later, get a call from the store manager that they dont have a few of the varieties I picked. Ok, no problem I picked out replacements. It gets delivered and not everything I ordered is there. Forgot the ice cream to go with the cookies. I call up expecting to get the shop, no, they have national customer service line... She refunds me the pint price but I had already tipped 20% at time of order. I asked for a call back from the store manager and didnt receive it.Pretty disappointed. Save yourself $50 and buy mix at Target and bake it yourself. Didnt even arrive warm 👎

If you love industrially baked goods, youll love insomnia. The cookies taste like theyre freshly defrosted right out of the freezer. And hey, if you love riffraff hanging out in the lobby menacing the customers, youre at the right spot! Cookies are almost $2 each, but when youre as high as the staff working there, you wont even know you overpaid. Enjoy!

(Downer/North Ave) My first time there. The cashier and server were lacking considerably in customer service. They told me there was a 15 min wait and they would call me when ready. No problem. However, 25 min later, still no cookies. Went to cashier. The cookies were on rack. As the server was bagging them, the cashier backhand waived me away and said, Can you move over there? I have other customers! Think she had temporarily lost her mind. I stayed there as the server was walking toward me with the cookies. I left without saying anything. I returned to the store. Told the cashier that was my first experience there. Said she was rude and disrespectful. She denied her behavior. I reminded her of the camera in the store. She changed her tune and said she didnt mean it. I said I understood but she kept trying to make an excuse for her behavior. Told her all she needed to do was apologize. She apologized like a kid made to say they are sorry but they really didnt mean it. No more insomnia cookies for me! Im taking 2 melatonin caps and will see you in the morning.

Need better management. Every time i come in late night employee never welcomes you. Just have you wait in the lobby. Over 10min. Need more employees at night. This is horrible. Don’t bother coming at nighttime. Not sure how it is during the day.

Its been more than an hour and a half, and the tracking shows the cookies are still being baked. I called customer service and she said they were out for delivery, so I dont know what to believe. I didnt even talk to someone who works in the store, it sounded like somewhere that handles multiple locations. Their website says they deliver in 30-45 minutes. Im definitely asking for a refund, I never wouldve ordered if I knew it would be twice that.

Im going to start out by saying, whoever the guy was that was working tonight 3/18/20, you shouldnt be working with people. My daughter walked in, stood there for a minute or so to decide what she was getting, I was parked right outside watching her, a young lady took her order, she paid $10 I might add! Opened the box to see if it was correct and this guy yells Mame, you cant be in here! My daughter jumped a foot, I saw it. If it were me in there, he would have gotten the cookies right back at him...there was no reason for that! And my daughter apologized...like she did something wrong! 🤬

Delivery was prompt, correct, and the gentleman was nice. However, they taste like store bought. You are better off patronizing Beans and Barley, National Bakery, Peter Sciortinos, or Grebes. Another option is to make your own from scratch.

Cashier tried to sell me stale cookies. When I told her I would not accept them she got angry and threw my change in my hand. She made fresh cookies and slipped 2 of the old cookies in my box. What a jerk? I said mam why did you put 2 of the old cookies in my box. She liked and said they were all just on the cookie sheet that just came out the oven. I said well why are these 2 cold and the other 4 are piping hot. She rudely snatched one of the cold ones and replaced it with a fresh one. Will never go back

This place pays rent on the big expensive store by selling COOKIES. obviously I understand nothing about this business model. They have been there a few years now. by selling cookies. yes really.

Cookies are good quality, the staff is not particularly friendly (but not nasty either). The prices are astronomical. Plan to pay at least $2 PER COOKIE. In many cases its higher. I know its tough to make a cookie store work, but theyd have a lot more customers (Id return at least) if the prices were 33-50% lower. I dont plan on returning to pay $15 for a cookie each for my wife, myself, and my two kids (plus an extra to split).

Yes. Drool over these amazing snickerdoodle cookies. Warm chewy and full of flavor. It is a cute little kind of romantic place to be. If you want somewhere to go for dessert when you are one the eastside this place is open just for you. Enjoy!!

Awesome cookies!! but today when i went one of the employees made me wait like 10 minutes before taking my order, and when they finally took it they told me that they couldnt do brownies for a half an hour because the ovens full, which is ok but they were so rude and ignored me when i said it was to go like 5 times (it has ice cream) so its melted before i can even give it to who i got it for. but last time i went i had the best employee ever!! he gave us our order just like we asked for it super quick and even gave us 3 cookies for free!! so basically u either get a really great experience or a really bad one :/

I remember there being an insomnia cookies on campus in Madison back when I was there. At the time it was a crazy idea, I thought. Going to insomnia now, over 10 years later, its even better than I remember! Warm, gooey, delicious cookies either sandwiching some ice cream or a la mode. Honestly, as a pregger lady, this place seriously hits the craving spot and is open until 3 AM. Cant lose!

I wanted to order the 6 cookies for $11, but instead I had to pay $11 for 4 cookies because I could not pick n choose my cookies. The cookies were picked for me and i dont think thats right. If Im paying that much $ for a cookie, i should be able to assemble my cookie box how i want it! The service was bland!

I have gone here in the past and the service has been horrible- rude cashier and the cookies have been burnt and stale. The last time I was in which was about a month ago the cashier told me they had a new store manager. I went in tonight and what a complete turn around!! The new store manager was still there at 3am and the night shift manager. They were extremely friendly. I asked if the cookies were fresh or burnt like in the past. They said if you ever get burnt cookies to make sure an employee remakes them to your liking. And they gave us 4 times the amount we ordered and discounted our order because they were about to close. I commented about the past experiences and they said we fired they entire old crew. What a relief!!! Had second thoughts about ever going here again after the last experience and I can definitely say I will be back more frequently with how pleaaant this visit was!!!

This is one of the places you go when your with friends and already super wound up for a night of mischief making. The food is great but the seating is limited not exactly good for anything more the a brief hang out while you pump sugar into your blood veins. Then again thats probably exactly what they were going for. Dont forget they deliver!

Ordered for pickup and paid online. Showed up to the store and they said they didnt have my order. Im fairly certain they gave my order to someone else. They also had no idea how to cancel the order when I asked.If you do order online from this store dont make the mistake of paying online like I did.

I spent $11.26 for two SMALL sugar cookies, that taste like biting into a stick of butter, and a bottle of milk. They taste and are visibly greasy, small, and over priced. I will say the delivery was fast but I don’t plan on ordering from them again and I wouldn’t recommend it unfortunately

Insomnia Cookies have been something my friends have been chatting up for a while, so my wife and I headed over after a date night for a quick cookie fix.Food: Cookie sizes range from mid to large. Ice cream and milk are also available. They had about 10 different types of cookies and 8 ice creams. Our cookies were warm and quite good, but lacking that extra bump that grandmas/a good bakery might have. That said, they were still great for a quick fix. Also, prices were a bit steep for what you get.Atmosphere: There really is none. This is fine, however, as it really is a place that does delivery of cookies. The shop itself was pretty bare.Service: Or checkout girl was ok, not overly friendly, but fine. We seemed to walk into a Christmas party for the staff, so I understand if we may have been breaking up the party a bit.My score: 6/10. Cookies were great, and if you are calling for a late night snack, this might be your best bet. However, if you HAVE a choice for dessert, you can find better in the area.

Who doesnt like cookies and who dosent like hot cookies fresh from the oven. I like there deluxe triple chocolate cookie. On top of it have some ice cream with the cookie. Usually their staff is nice. However last time i went their there staff member was kinda annoyed and wasnt paying attention to what i was saying. Put me off.

The cookies are really good but they’re the only thing about this place that is. Every time I’ve come the parking is horrendous as well as the customer service. This time I went with my boyfriend and we both got ice cream cookie sandwiches, but my boyfriend got the deluxe size. The cashier made both of our cookiewiches and AFTERWARDS told us they don’t have any spoons. So here is my boyfriend with a plate full of melting ice cream with nothing to eat it with but his fingers. If we had known beforehand then we would NOT have ordered ice cream. I really don’t understand why you wouldn’t say that ahead of time. Extremely stupid and careless service. And two couples came in after us who ordered just cups of ice cream and the cashier didn’t tell them until AFTER that they didn’t have spoons. The customers seemed so confused. We had to leave the melted mess there. Big waste of 9 whole dollars. Just so stupid, I don’t get it.

We ordered a six pack of cookies for $10 and an ice cream sandwich for $6.50. We expected the size of the cookies to be the size of a small bowl for the price...they were tiny! Ok flavor, but completely misleading pictures and over priced. We will not return.

I very rarely ever crave cookies, especially to the extent to have them delivered. However, my husband and I were amused by the concept of all night cookie delivery so we indulged. It definitely wont ever happen again. The cookies are not good. The delivery takes forever and the milk I ordered was sour.

I think it’s time for Alyssa from Insomnia Cookie on North Ave, to find a new job if she doesn’t drop the horrible attitude she has. You work in costumer service honey, there’s no need to give me the excuse that “this is how you are all the time” to justify you being rude.
