Grocery, amazing bakery, hot and cold deli, huge alcohol selection, and an indoor bar. Theres an outdoor patio and youre within walking distance of a few parks. This is a south side landmark. You can get pretty much all your standard grocery needs here. Delicious hot paninos, an scrumptious hot case, and a premier cold case for all your deli needs. They carry a lot of local bakeries and stock their own treats. Half the square footage seems to be dedicated to alcohol and you can even sit at the bar inside. I dont know anything else you could want from this place and if there is they probably do it and I havent mentioned it.

Neighborhood market at its best! Many specialty items for the serious cook. Baked goods, deli, hot bar and wine/beer bar. What more could you ask for?!

Ive come here since childhood, and I was very disappointed to see what has become of the store. There isnt a great variety of produce anymore, and the bakery is way overpriced for the quality. They have a large array of Italian named desserts which do not taste authentic. It appears they named the desserts after Italian classics for show rather than for providing the classic Italian treats. Based on the price, I would expect these to be not only authentic but delicious. The desserts taste stale and were disappointing.They expanded the back of the store to include a huge meat/seafood section which has a ton of product, but the product is lacking in flavor and quality.It appears the expansion was made to house a liquor/wine section rather than provide more authentic Italian foods as that is the largest area of the store.The store used to be small and quaint. It smelled of fresh rolls and sausage when youd enter. Groppis used to be known for the quality of the meat, deli, and bakery. Unfortunately, it seems the store has put more effort into making a profit than keeping up with the authentic Italian selection and quality of product they used to sell.

Love their paninis!! They are so tasty, inexpensive and great for a picnic at the lake or drinks at a near by bar. Also very much recommend their desserts! Got a lemon bar today that was perfect! I brought a couple people here for their time and they love it!

Groppis has an excellent hot deli counter. If you dont feel like cooking but want something more than fast food Groppis deli is the way to go. They also have a very friendly staff. Parking can be a little tough but youll find something. Enjoy!

Picked up a couple of paninis. While the flavor was good I found them to skimp on the meat for both flavors I ordered, the Cubano and Smoked Turkey. Not sure Id order again.

Always has been an interesting store with many good quality products.Hot deli sandwiches have always been tasty-------BUT NOT the Reuben we had today. one thin slice of corn beef & a huge mound of Sauerkraut.Should have beed named -- sauerkraut sandwich. A must stop in Milwaukee- what looks like a little neighborhood deli unwinds into a labrynth that includes full deli, meat, seafood, produce, grocery, Wisconsin specialty beer/cheese/sausage- and a bar!

The older guy working the hot case in the mornings is very rude. He acts like you are taking up his time and is very short with customers. He does not say thank you or have a nice day. If you say have a nice day to him, he responds with I will.”Stopped in on Wednesday looking for tuna noodle casserole. He said we have it on fridays. So I come in today (Friday) and he said we won’t be putting it out today. The schedule changes daily. So why did he tell me to come Friday?? I only came in for the one item. Due to the inconvenience and this specific employee I will be shopping elsewhere. Poor customer service. Be honest with your customers. That guy needs a write up.

Unbelievable selection and delious food.

This is one of our go-to stops for lunch when we are traveling in the area for work. Lots of hot and cold food options for a quick lunch or dinner, plus the bakery case its full of amazingly delicious (and pretty!) goodies. The portions are generous - the half size panini is enough for two of us with a side of one of the delicious salads. The curry chicken salad is wonderfully spiced. We just tried the three bean quinoa salad and it had such a bold, unique flavor. Lots of interesting things to try here!

This is really a culinary treat. I have not ever experienced such a variety of pretty much everything and anything you could ever think of! The fruits and vegetables is a gorgeous display of color and freshness.

I like Groppies, and previously they had a five-star rating from me. However, today I went in and a manager had her mask done around her chin for at least 15 minutes while I was there, and another employee had their mask down under their nose. masks do not work if they are under your nose. They have to be covering your nose and mouth. I also could not find an email address or a website for groppies, so Im forced to leave this comment here rather than sending it to them privately. Please enforce your employees wearing masks properly and get a website

Meat selections are varied. Sausage is amazing. Prices are about the same as the grocery store for the meats offered. Love this store!

This place is phenomenal, a local diamond, and a must visit. The staff is great, the layout is endearing, and the selection excellent. If you are local to it and havent been there yet, you are welcome ahead of time. Go!

Love walking into Groppis. Brings back the neighborhood grocery stores of the past when I was a kid. Love the fresh homemade food offerings - delicious. Also fresh cut meats & sausages & seafood. Large liquor & wine offerings. Numerous bakery items. The only reason that I didnt give a five star rating is due to high prices.

Disregard for customer and employee safety during this time of Covid due to no masks and no plan for customer and employee distancing. Want to support the small local grocer but hard to shop at a business that is not even trying. Formally my run-to store for my favorite hard to find breads and bakeries and int food and just to get something I ran out of. Will return when I think it is safe.

Wow popped my head in with some friends and to variety they have in the store is extensive. They even have some patés and baked bread and in the back they have a large variety of brats! I would come back for sure.

We need more neighborhood markets like these. I shop here when I am in the area and have never been disappointed.

An excellent neighbourhood grocery store specializing in Italian products. A very nice meat counter, plus a separate lunchmeat counter and a cheese counter. Also a good selection of hot foods. They carry special things that you just cant find at your local chain store. Highly recommended!

This grocery store has character and convenience. It is pretty small, but you can usually find what you need. They have a huge selection of wine in the back. Oh and dont forget to stop by the bar and have beer!

This is a one-of-a-kind stop in this part of Milwaukee. Its like an antique grocery store. They have everything. They have Deli Foods, fancy breakfast pastry, you name it. If youre biking around the area its very convenient to stop in have a snack, sitting in their nice Courtyard. You really ought to check this place out.

Were in town visiting family, and we were told to visit Groppis to grab some ingredients for dinner. Wow! This place has it all. Everything is fresh, looks great, and the service was fantastic. Definitely a place I will be visiting again when Im in town. A hidden gem, thats definitely a must for groceries.

Chocolate eclairs are not cream filled half the time but otherwise its very good

Kitchen staff audibly and obviously complaining about having to make four cold sandwiches for us with over 30 minutes left before they closed. I’ve worked in this exact same type of place and I understand the courtesy, but with a half hour left and not having to cook anything you shouldn’t be openly complaining to the point where customers can hear you. Sandwiches were good but absolutely nothing special, not special enough to warrant being lazy and rude. Close the kitchen earlier if you don’t want my money and keep it to yourself until customers are gone.

A selection beyond what I expected.

I love G. Groppi Food Market. I like to make a monthly pilgrimage from Pewakee to buy cheese, pasta, and any other goodies that catch my eye.

Nice local grocery store the Isles are a little combined and condensed. Customer service is excellent. They have a great produce and deli section. The bakery is awesome. A little pricey and they dont take food stamps. Overall great little store.

It pains me to write this review as we have loved shopping at Groppis for many years, but I am extremely disappointed at the lack of safety measures in place. No employees wearing masks, incredibly crowded, most elderly shoppers not wearing masks, and zero attempt at social distancing protocols. This morning was our last time shopping there sadly, we left before making a purchase because we were so disgusted at the lack of care. Very sad!

This is a Bay View staple but you can find more than just staples at this amazing local corner store.Beyond the typical produce and daily cooking ingredients youd expect at a store of this size, they also have a wide selection of authentic Italian import groceries.Their butcher section, though, is by far the highlight with homemade sausages that are out of this world. Their famous spiral saltisa sausages are something youve gotta try at least once and their red hot Italian sausages are so flavorful and spicy, you cant get enough.Ive been going to this place since I was a kid and I was sad when it almost went out of business and closed, but Sendiks did a great job revivifying a neighborhood gem and keeping its well earned charm.

We were referred here by a woman on reception at the Lake Express Ferry building as we were looking for lunch while waiting for the ferry. From the outside looked small, but on the inside so much more with a wealth of food and produce choices. My wrap was the tastiest thing I had eaten since being on our trip in the USA. Highly recommended.

Ive passed by a dozen times... finally went in. It was wonderful! Expansive on the inside, with a pleasant surprise around each corner. Food was good. The selection of surprises was the best!

Expensive, but worth it. I find a lot of things here that I cant get anywhere else. I love their freshly made paninis and homemade take and bake pizzas.

My wife and I truly enjoy shopping at this very unique hidden gem. A little pricy, yet delicious!There is a small full service bar in the back, out of the way from the grocery area (probably suited for the locals & I dont drink).My wife usually sends me there for a sandwich, salad and a few speciality items. A must see!Oh, they are not to far from South Shore Yacht Club and just around the corner from the Coast Guard station.

Great Italian grocery store. The paninis are definitely a favorite of mine. Molly the new bartender on Monday is definitely a great host. As well as the rest of the team bringing a smiling, helpful face to your experience. I will be back many more times to come.
