I truly appreciate the staff at Brass Bell! Our children have experienced effective lessons in piano and saxophone. Before purchasing a piano for our home, our older son practiced in the studio rooms while an enrolled BB student. We have also purchased and rented beautiful, new, top of the line and professional level instruments from Brass Bell (Yamaha and Packer) with competitive prices and in some cases included repair fees built in to rent. The staff have also sourced odds and ends that made our music experience complete (Lord of the Rings sheet music, music and instrument stands, practice app recommendations, an easier case to bring the instrument to and from school, for example). A sincere thank you to Brass Bell for all the resources and rounding our childrens childhood/academic experience!
Weve used Brass Bell for all our student band needs, and its always been a great experience. They are super friendly and helpful and have always made sure we have exactly what we need. The store is also a beautiful space. I believe they offer lessons for certain instruments as well. Definitely recommend for band student services, or if youre maybe just looking to get back into playing the bass again!😄
We were initially scheduled to do the meet and greet last week. I received a call the day prior stating the instructor didn’t feel well and would need to reschedule to this week. This week, we went to meet Grace and she was awesome. Very friendly and provided thorough explanations of the process. She stated my daughter would be ready to play in their winter recital which was exciting. About half an hour later we finished with her and were ready to sign up. We were told we’d need to pay a month in advance plus a one time registration fee. No problem. I filled out the paperwork and swiped my card to pay. It wasn’t until then that I was told that Grace was actually fully booked. My option was to wait it out and see if she got any openings in the next few months! After driving half an hour there and spending half an hour with Grace- this was a major let down. There was no alternative or initiave to make things right or offer another great instructor. The guy just kinda stood there blankly and cluelessly. He said he was on vacation for a few days and that was pretty much it. So moral of the story- seemingly great instructors, with an unorganized facility. Half an hour drive back home- very frustrated!
I went in last minute to do a tune up on my trombone. They kindly took it for me and did all they could to restore it to working conditions. They were kind knowledgeable and I will be back next week to get my instrument back in tip top shape. They also have reasonable lesson and rental prices. I am so happy I found this place, they are excellent.
Hi heard your store was amazing just need to know if you can close like at 9 or 10 since my daughter needs to take her instrument on this Wednesday and we need the size for her vilion so it would be great thank you!
I was looking for a particular music book and I didnt have any information other than some songs that were in the book and the agent quickly helped me find what I was looking for. They were kind and knowledgeable and helped me even after they realized that I would not be able to purchase it from them because I live in another another state and needed it quickly. Awesome customer service, I would highly recommend!
Luke and the team are always wonderful! The team is always knowledgeable and quick to match you with the appropriate item or direction needed. They’ve had a very powerful, positive effect on my musical growth.
Quite a variety of instruments available at this store. Guitar, bass guitar, drums, band / orchestra, etc. Not a huge selection in each category though. Guitarists in particular may be underwhelmed at the in-store selection so they’re probably better served by one of the many other stores that feature those more heavily or even exclusively. Service has been very good at this location for our daughter’s band and orchestra needs when we’ve needed repair or just new strings. Prices are fair as far as local stores go. They have books and materials needed for many of the area school programs if you need those.
Brass Bell has been so great to work with. Since Covid19 hit I had wanted to get back to playing guitar but my son had it and now lives in Minnesota. I turned to Brass Bell to rent a guitar and they were so helpful and encouraging. Since then, I have returned and rented another guitar and most recently used my rental credits to purchase a guitar. They helped me through it all! Thank you Brass Bell!
We brought my sons trumpet in to be fixed last week and expected a call on an estimate. My husband called today and they told us it is quarantined for a week before they will do anything. They never told us this and my son goes back to college on Friday and has a music class. They wont be calling us back with just an estimate on Monday. How can you not let a customer know this. Now we are going to have to get the trumpet to my son somehow because they dont tell their customers anything. This is very bad customer service. If we would have known, we would have seen if we could find another place that could fix it faster or have it at least fixed in the town my sons college is at.
Very great service and very knowledgeable staff
Very helpful, excellent staff, reasonable price.
Everyone I dealt with was polite and knowledgeable and very helpful. Great customer service!
Excellent every way. The BEST People work there: Cheerful - Knowledgeable - Helpful - Kind...PATIENT!!!Instruments vary in price; something for everyone from beginning beginners to PRO - Real Musicians! Lots for Kids also.Teachers - TEACH! Workshops are fun and rewarding.Do I Really LIKE the BRASS BELL? Much More Than Only FIVE Stars...A Galaxy!
Omg! They were a God send for my son and I! They sent us a very unique item in less than a wk!! They were so kind. Im so grateful for them!!Laura Prestby
Easiest trip to the music store ever.
Ive had consistently pleasant experiences.
They were 100% tolerant of my eccentric personality all the way. The staff was thorough and kept me up to date. If I had any questions all I had to do was text! Kind, considerate people. 10/10 would recommend!!!!
Great service from an excellent staff
We had a great experience shopping for a bass. Great customer service.
So happy to be able to support Brass Bell especially in this time of quarantine. My daughter wants to learn to play my old guitar and we need some new strings. I messaged the store and they texted back immediately. I have my strings and tuning accessories on the way - thanks, Nick!
I appreciate the helpful friendly retail staff who are pleasant and well-informed. Additionally, my sons music instructors have been top notch. They embody a passion for music, know how to take students to the next level by watching for signs of readiness. Most importantly they have served as genuine role models for my son. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience at Brass Bell!
Man, let me tell you about my beautiful experience at brass bell music store. My 12 year old sister is heavily involved in music and she is interested in playing the guitar. Before I stepped inside, I called about lessons and the gentleman over the phone gave me all the information I needed ASAP! No holds or anything! When I arrived to the store everyone was so helpful. I’ve never been in a music store before and I felt at home! After getting my sister signed up for lessons, I let them know that we were very interested in purchasing a guitar that day. The young lady that served us on this day, made sure my sister received the perfect fit to start her musical Journey. So overall, my sister and I received the best service ever and we are excited for her to start her lessons this weekend. Keep it up!
During the lockdown, I had to call and order my kids lunch music supplies. Brass bell staff are supper responsive and efficient with finding what I need, arranging the delivery. They made my life much easier! Thanks!
We have always had a good experience every time we have gone, the last time we were there I have to say I was very impressed. My daughter needed to have her flute repaired and we were hoping we didnt have to wait for days for it to be ready. We waited for a few minutes for the repair person to look at it and when we explained to him that my daughter needed it as soon as possible (high school play orchestra pit), he fix it then. A few minutes later my daughter had her flute all fixed and ready to go. Everyone was super nice and helpful!
The staff is always friendly and ready to assist. Repair service was quick and reasonable price. The technician made suggestions about additional services that would be beneficial to my sons guitar. And there was no pressure to purchase the additional services. Great customer service Brass Bell!
Customer service and professional advice is the best. Very good at following up if they can’t answer a question or have something in stock. Big enough to have a large selection of instruments and accessories but small enough to be hands on. Nice job!
Every employee at Brass Bell is friendly and helpful. I bought a viola, sax and french horn from them. I am very satisfied with the quality and service. I rent keyboards for jobs and get all my music there. They will order for you and locate obscure pieces. I recommend Brass Bell to the families of my students . Its great to have the Brass Bell Store in our community. .
We have worked with other music shops in the area, and Brass Bell is by far the tops in customer service. They were very accommodating when we were shopping for a new flute as they let my daughter try many different flutes to find the best one for her. Also, the rent to own policy at Brass Bell is a great option when purchasing a new instrument.
Great customer service shipping on timeHappy to do purchase again
Took my alto sax to Brian Katz for a complete repad. My axe is a high-end, 45-yr-old LeBlanc (Paris). It has a very unusual and complex action with a dozen+ interconnected adjusting screws and all custom pads needed. I was unsure of Brians ability to take on this project (last time I went to a Chicago shop), but he did a wonderful job! He had the pads individually hand-crafted to fit, setup was almost perfect, and we spent an hour in his shop fine-tuning the action so its now perfect. All for the estimated price and time. Cant recommend Brian more highly! I wish I had taken my Mark VI bari to him...next time!
My first visit to Brass Bell Music was EXCELLENT! I met with Mark and Joel who both assisted me with my cymbal and drumstick questions. I even asked if I could test a cymbal or two in one of their soundproof lessons rooms...no problem! Very helpful and very accommodating!I also purchased a Jumbie Jam steel drum. Thanks for the great recommendation guys. My kids love it.
Love Brass Bell! Both my kids take music lessons there and the teachers are wonderful. The staff at the store are super friendly and very knowledgeable. You can tell how much they love music and enjoy working there. Would definitely recommend it.
Brass bell is my go-to place for my guitar repair. They always make a good job in being so transparent with the repair your instrument needs and the price. They are knowledgeable and quick to answer your query and always willing to accommodate your schedule.
1st visit to the Brass Bell . Very impressed with the collection of instruments ! I felt a little out of place as I came in for a banjo restring to realize I had the only banjo in the store ! However, tech Nick Miller did a fantastic job on my banjo and it sounds wonderful ! Great experience !
My friend and I go a lot to brass bell music store to play guitar and jam out! its a nice place! it feels like youre at home, the staff there is so nice. like you could have a nice conversation with the staff and you can make new friends just by being there! its overall amazing!!!
My son plays alt saxophon. Two times he needed keys adjustments, and both times Brass Bell performed the service on time and to our best satisfaction. I was already very satisfied with their professionalism and courtesy. However, they proved to me that they can do it even better. It was around the Christmas 2018, with many non-working days and a lot of instruments waiting for the repair. My son brought his instrument with broken neck kork. His music teacher made improvised repair, but it was obvious that the replacement has to be done. When I brought the instrument to Brass Bell, I was told that the waiting time is around 7 - 10 days (due to the circumstances). Upon my inquiry if it could be done faster because my son had very important performance and he needed to practice, the manager assured me that he would personally see to it to be done in the shortest possible time. The very next day I received the call from Brass Bell, letting me know that the instrument was ready for pick up. My son had enough time to practice, performance was a real hit, and my gratitude to kind people from Brass Bell grew even more. Based on my personal experience, I can absolutely recommend Brass Bell to all parents who are looking for the respectable source of music instruments, accessories, and related services for their children.
These folks were very professional and easy to work with! I’ve taken some of our band instruments for repairs: detailed quote with all proposed work to be done and the final price was right in line with the estimate given. Delivered them to my band room. Sraightforward billing process. Will definitely used them again!
We called and asked about renting a classical bass and were quoted a price, toldwe could do a month to month, and told they were available. I went to the store 2 days later and was told they only had new basses, the cost was 40% higher than quoted, and the minimum was three months: My son needed the instrument for a music camp that began Monday morning and I stepped outside and most music stores were closed now and it was a Saturday afternoon so I was stuck: I felt it was a total bait and switch and I would have gone somewhere else if they had told me they only had new ones for 3 months (we had Called other places that gave us similar quotes to their original one but they were closest. Ive drive further away as I did when I returned it to get a better deal and frankly better service.
Andrew cleaned and serviced my silver Canadian Brass trumpet and now it looks and plays beautifully! Hes a very thorough communicator and service provider.
We rented music instruments from Brass Bell for a couple of years. The rental process is simple. The staff is always friendly and ready to help you. We took private lessons from teachers on their list. It worked well also.
Very helpful and knowledgeable of the equipment.
Great shop! Not just a good selection, the right selection. Something for players of all levels. Great staff, too.
I brought in my guitar to the Brass Bell to get the electronics worked on; minor stuff that didnt involve the neck of the guitar. When I pick it up, a string has been snapped, which happens routinely with guitars. I ask them why it hasnt been replaced. Their tech tells me it will be $30 to replace that string. Its apparently part of their guitar setup package, which was what I paid them to do in the first place. Will not ever be going back to them.
The rent to own program is really taking advantage of the customer. Only 2/3 of the payment goes towards the rental and they gross up the purchase price at the end.Manager responded saying it was a good deal. Not true. Again market value for an instrument is what they deem to be the sales price. So you rent, pay more for the instrument at the end and if you buy your rental only 2/3 of the price goes to the rental. What bothers me is if I buy it they have no expense at all in up keep. Yet I am paying over market price for the instrument. Not cool. Please send questions if need be.
Everyone there is always friendly and helpful. They repaired my daughter’s flute quickly and when they were done it played beautifully.
The staff at Brass Bell are very friendly and helpful. I went in looking for a ukulele and spent way more time there than I anticipated checking out all the other cool stuff they have. I would highly recommend. (I found a great uke too!)
The staff is very helpful. They are willing look up music books that are not in stock and order them for me. I like the friendly staff.
Always very attentive staff who are knowledgeable in a wide range of musical areas. I generally find accessories I need for guitar, and they clearly concentrate on the band/orchestra/lesson market; which seems to be successful for them.
Theyve always been helpful and courteous. Ive been shopping with them for 6+ years!
Buying a higher end instrument from them is kind of sketchy in terms of their sales choice. My family purchased a $2,000 saxophone for me from them about seven months ago. What I did not enjoy about the process was that the saleswoman (shorter girl with glasses) was not showing me her entire instruments available. First, she grabbed all the used instruments and tried to sell them to me. She kept saying Let me check what I have in the back..... She went back either two or three times. It was kind of annoying because if were going to spend this much money, can you please give me all my options? She was more concerned about selling the used equipment first before buying a new one. The even more sad part was that the used Yamaha YAS26 was roughly $1800. The new one was $2,000. If I seen the first used one at $1,800, I just cant believe she wouldnt be interested in telling me that if I spend $200 more I can just get a brand new one instead. Be careful when purchasing higher end equipment because they wont show you all their instruments available if its not on the floor.
Great staff, excellent teachers and a decent (if narrow) selection. Prices aren’t competitive, but they do in a pinch
Fast instrument repairs and good quality service! They have everything you need for your musical interests.
Brass Bell is my go-to store to purchase music for my private piano, voice and music theory students. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly ~ especially the print music people!
Musical instrument store, sheet music, instruments and supplies, rentals, lessons, instrument repair. This store serves local suburban schools, and pricing is geared accordingly. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
Helpful, courteous staff plus delivery service during the at home!!
Always super helpful with all the instrument needs. Each employee seems to be informed no matter what the musical question.
Good selection and prices for guitar and piano equipment and accessories. Friendly and helpful staff. We are thankful to have this so accessible on the north shore.
Story time: I was there for the Milwaukee Ukulele Club meeting and a string on my banjolele broke. I bought a replacement set and changed it myself, only to have the same string break immediately. I gave it to their repair tech who changed the string again, and it broke AGAIN. Finally they took a look at the tailpiece of the banjolele and suggested that perhaps the hole the string was being fed through had a rough edge on it, which would explain strings snapping despite being new. They offered to smooth the holes of the tailpiece to see if it made a difference; otherwise something else potentially more complicated might have been wrong.Long story short, the tailpiece holes got smoothed and now the strings dont break anymore. They were very accommodating and helpful and didnt try to coerce me into some big complex and expensive repair overhaul (unlike another music store chain I know).I was very satisfied and if I didnt live so far away Id certainly visit their store more often.
Brass Bell did an excellent job with my keyboard repair and had it sounding better than before, they tunned it and explained what was wrong in a way I could understand and were very affordable.
Veronica was really helpful with my phone order, thanks Veronica!
Very helpful staff!!!
Very nice staff, great local place with good quality instruments! One of my strings on my violin came loose, and they fixed it the same day!
Patient and knowledgable staff. An organization devoted to our student musicians in the community.
I have always received excellent customer service whether it be retail, rental or repair.
Great service, friendly and response quickly in store, my only concern is expensive then other music stores
My instructor is great. Great selection of music books to train someone
Nice, intimate music store. Great customer service. Will reccomend.
Very professional and listen. Teachers are knowledgeable and communicate well with student and parents.
Fast service. My son loved the instruments. Very nice and friendly service. Will be coming back!
Friendly, knowledgeable staff and great selection/ variety of music and instruments.
My 9yr old and 8yr old have been taking lessons at Brass Bell for over a year. We appreciate how well the staff and teachers work with our schedule and instill the joy of music into my children!
Awesome service! Staff are knowledgeable & courteous.
Customer Service is rather disappointing.Decided to check out this place. I drove 30 mins to purchase a violin bow and some rosin. The place was well staff compared to the amount of other customers present. Despite this, none of the employees would come ask if I needed help and instead would watch me look around, trying to find the right section. Gave off the impression it was one of those stores that, if you look like you’re under 30, theyll assume you won’t buy anything and won’t bother with you. If I wanted a dehumanized experience I’d take my business to amazon
Hugh quality service at affordable prices, worked with Nick who was very knowledgeable, I would highly recommend this store if in the Glendale area!
Theyre more expensive than any other place in the city, but they more than make up for it with customer service and consistent results.I take all my guitars there for setups and theyve never failed me.
I have always liked Brass Bell. I have bought a number of instruments there. They are fair and honest.T. Worth
This place is a rip off. Both of my children took piano leasons there. The last child experience was awful to say the least. The owner took almost 300 dollars out of our account lying about 12 leasons that we had already paid.saying we didnt. When i asked to meet with her regarding the unauthorized transaction, she became fearful and said that she would meet wirh us as long as the Glendale police was present. We were taken back by her behavior and decided to end our relationship with Brass Bell. This race issue has got to end. My son is disappointed and sad. I will never patronize this place again! Rip off!!!
Great customer service! All staff members are always very knowledgeable and helpful.
I rented a clarinet from Brass Bell. First I wanted to buy it outright, I ended up financing it according to them, incase my daughter changed her mind and if it needed to be fixed, but it was more money for them. They were suppose to take payments every month on the 25th and at first they did and then they began taking them more than a week early and blamed it on a system changed. I moved out of state, gave them my new address, let them know the account I had was no longer open and gave them the new one and they were still trying to draft on the old account! Go figure. I was fed up with it, and asked how much it was to pay it off, I was told 339 dollars, which seemed more than it should have been, but ok. I was going to be there for a funeral and would take care of it. I guess I wasnt calling or there fast enough, they used my deposit to pay it off, and refunded my balance to the closed account that I have no access to which had been closed for months! When asked why, all they had to say was a miscommunication. I have filed a complaint with the FTC for fair debt collection practices because I did not receive this in writing before it happened, nor the amount of my deposit, or amount owed or my balance. They did not verify the account before they sent it anywhere, especially since they were told months before that the account was closed, they said they noted my account and was given the new card number. Now I want my deposit or my fees. This is ridiculous!
My Dad and I have been going to Brass Bell for years. The associates are always kind and helpful.
Good customer service and knowledgable workers
Eh...High prices and unknowledgeable staff make a person only wanting to go there for Guitar Picks or Strings,or maybe some staff paper. This store caters to the North Shore or Milwaukee, which is all upper-class suburbs. For the rest of the world without diposable income,Im hard pressed to pay LIST price or close, for a guitar or keyboard.AVOID
Great value piano lessens for my kids!
Very helpful. Shop there a lot.
Mostly I like the energy of the customer service. Sometimes, however, I need to light a fire under some to get the energy going.
I bought a lesson book and the corner had a crease and a moth ran into a window
