My low-budget but indispensable Acer laptop popped the screws in one of the hinges that hold the screen to the keyboard body. With only one good hinge in play and the unhinged side of the screen flopping around, the device was difficult to use. The loose screen kept collapsing onto the keyboard or lolling backwards onto the desk. My neat-freak housemate swept away the screws that had come out before I could try reinserting them. I phoned Nerds To Go and they were immediately reassuring and confident they could help me out. I took my machine to them, and was a bit dismayed when their initial diagnosis indicated that the plastic keyboard frame had failed where the screws had been, and would need to be replaced. But, they said, leave it here and well give you a call after further inspection. About a half-hour later, while I was still browsing through the nearby shops, they called with the good news that the plastic was all intact, the hinge had been reattached and the machine was ready to pick up. The initially anticipated charge for parts had not materialized; they just charged me for the labor. I was impressed with their professionalism, competence, honesty and friendliness. I went in with an emergency: Laptop on the fritz, away from home, and no way to connect to work. Even though they were busy they put a rush order on the computer and got it all sorted within 4 hours. Dean was amazing when I called Nerds To Go! My Internet was down and this was ‘mission critical’ as my wife works from home as a Federal contractor and needs reliable high-speed Internet. Dean not only got us back up-and running quickly, but also helped map the topology of our entire home network, which had necessarily gotten a little complex and ‘messy’ over the years with triple redundancy among two fiber-to-the-home providers. I could not more highly recommend Dean and the Nerds To Go team for professionalism, overall superior knowledge, friendliness and efficiency. Dean also took the time and patience to explain technical details in layman’s terms to a decidedly non-technical person without making him feel like a 2-year old! 🤣

I brought my disassembled laptop in to see if they could help with reassembly after my partner pulled it all apart. Chris and Joe were very helpful and communicative with all of their services. They let me know about the broken pieces and wanted to help save me money regarding ordering a new frame for my old computer versus transferring the data. I went with the smarter option which happened to save me money. I inquired into a refurbished laptop for my children and they had some really great deals. I would go there again for any fixes or to buy refurbished computers!

I spilled water on my ThinkPad and at the time had Geek Squad service at Best Buy. I took my computer into the Geek Squad and was told I had to wait two weeks for it to dry out before they could tell me it whether or not they could salvage it. I didnt have two weeks to wait so I took it to Nerds to Go, within a day, they told me they had save the data, but could not save the computer, so I bought a new computer took it to them on Monday and they returned it to me Tuesday ready to go. Nerds to Go really know what they are doing, they have no incentive to try and sell you things, they are professional and fast. If you have Geek Squad you should switch.

I called Nerds To Go when my docking system was not operating correctly, especially the large monitor was not displaying an image. On the phone Chris was very professional and responsive, asking lots of questions to diagnose the problem. He booked an appointment right away for that afternoon with Dean to come to my home.I had been trying to troubleshoot the problem, disconnecting and reconnecting the many cords involved. To no avail. Dean checked things out systematically. To my chagrin he was able to easily find the power switch for the power strip which I had not found. The switch which was off! That helped a lot! I took advantage of his time to ask a lot of questions about using my computer which Dean answered well. I decided to use their cloud backup service.But...the next day the monitor was off again! I booked another appointment, talking over ideas with Dean. In the mean time I again disconnected and reconnected cords, including for the first time the plugs into the power strip. And...the monitor image appeared! Everything worked! I felt very foolish calling to cancel the appointment, but Dean joked that now that I was experienced I should come and work for them! He did not make me feel incompetent.Needless to say, I recommend this team highly as they responded quickly to my needs in a caring way.

I took my old laptop to Nerds to Go last week for a tune up and to get some advice. Since that laptop was over 6 years old and couldnt run some of the games I wanted to play, I decided it was time for a new computer, but I wanted to still spruce up the old one a little bit so I could keep it for certain tasks and to use as my travel computer. I worked with Chris Case and he was beyond helpful! Not only did he do a great tune up on my old laptop and cleaned it for me, but he helped me learn about computers more so I could make the right decision when purchasing a new gaming laptop. I didnt purchase the new laptop from them, but I brought it in today when I went to pick up my old computer. Chris helped me install additional RAM in my new laptop to increase its performance, and he even took the time to help me set it up to ensure I wasnt signing up for unnecessary accounts and whatnot since new computers come with a lot of bloatware etc. This was the best experience Ive ever had at a tech shop and I will definitely be going back for all of my future computer needs!

My granddaughter wanted to try building a gaming computer for the first time. She worked on it with her dad. Her dad is not a computer person and I have no experience building a computer. They had all the parts put together in the case but it would not turn on. So I took it to Nerds ToGo and very quickly Joe found the problem. The cable from the control panel was not plugged into the mother board. He found a couple of other minor things. He showed me everything and I got advice about a better place to put the hard drive on the mother board. I had such great service and it was in my price range because it was so quick, free. Each person I met at Nerds To Go was very kind. I had called around to multiple computer repair businesses when I came across them and I was impressed with them because when I called with questions they took the time to really listen and talk with me about my options. Taking a computer in can be vulnerable and scary because it can be very expensive, and me not knowing much about computers I am at the whim of what they say needs to be fixed. I immediately trusted them once I was talking with them and am glad I took my computer to them. They took the time to explain everything, and did so in a respectful way that a lay person can understand. Additionally, I needed my computer back the next day and they were respectful and quick in getting it back to me promptly, even though Covid is a very busy time for them. When I went to pick up my computer they even took extra time to teach me how to do some things at home, and emailed me some links afterward to assist in that. I appreciated the extra time and care they spent with me. I will definitely go back and recommend them as doing a great job, being quick, and taking extra time and care to explain things.

I had some issues with my computer build, so I decided to bring it in and have it looked at and troubleshot. I was treated nicely on the phone, and was given an in depth explanation as to what aspects I missed and what I did right with my build, and they were happy to resettle my build from fresh start, and even made the build look as clean as can be. The place was a bit hard to find, I was not aware that it was behind another store in the little strip Mall of 4 or 5 businesses. The parking is very limited. The store is located up stairs. I didnt see an elevator. The staff was friendly (as nerds can be).

What a fantastic computer repair shop! Friendly, professional, and quick. I didnt realize they existed until I needed help with my laptop and found them listed on google. My task was relatively simple but I didnt have the right tools and therefor was in a pinch. No job too small, they helped me open the cover of my laptop and removed the hard drive. Dominic later sent me an email with details on what he thought might be a good replacement for my aging laptop. I had the dreaded windows black screen of death and my 6 year old desktop wouldnt boot. While they couldnt salvage my hard drive, they saved my data and gave me personalized service, keeping in mind my sons gaming needs, and were able to upgrade me to an SSD drive and 16 gigs of RAM (the latter they threw in for free!!). We have had three awesome experiences with this Chris. Several easier things and we just had an emergency resolved by him. We had an external hard drive that my wife uses as a backup for her photography business fail. This meant years of pictures gone. Called Chris he said bring it in. Dropped it off on Tuesday picked it up on Saturday with all but one file recovered. This recovery required Chris to dismantle the damaged external drive because it would not function properly. After doing so he was able to get the data off of it and onto a new external drive. It was a miracle. I appreciate the professionalism we have always experienced with these folks. I’d give them 10 stars if that was an option.

Very Nice experience recovering from a failed Hard Drive, which was replaced with a Solid State Drive. Everything was tested, and its much faster than when it was brand new now. Easy to reach by phone, very knowledgeable, and got the job done much faster than other places I called. I hardly ever reccomend places, but I was so pleased, I felt others should know.

This is a great place if you only know how to turn your computer on! Lol! I am so afraid of getting things messed up or deleting things that are needed for my computer to function properly. Chris and Dominique were very good at explaining things to me and didnt make me feel inferior because I didnt know something. Gave a great offer for extended service and improved all the computers in the office.We’re up and running and much faster. I have come to Nerds To Go three separate times and always have a great experience. My kids make themselves at home with the toys or with the dry erase board a d have a ball. My 14 year old had been learning along side Chris and Marius, getting all his questions answered while building his new computer for gaming.
