I get my prescriptions there, they are fast, and good. Waited by going to there Starbucks. Then went to the lottery machine, played a little keno. Then a little shopping, very clean store. Senior orientated. 👍 Great store.

Hi, I was just in there. And it was extremely busy. The lines were long, and I chose the one I thought looked the best. And you know what, it was the best. Teresa was so friendly and efficient. She is a shining light and I hope someone sees this and gives her proper kudos. The world needs more cashiers like her. Made my whole shopping trip ❤️

First off, let me voice my favorite employees (my apologies for not knowing their names): I love the young man there who is the courtesy clerk. Hes a person who I would definitely hire. I like the main lady who makes sandwiches. I like the middle aged man who cashiers and there is a lady who I like who always treats my dad so nice.People in the bakery are rarely friendly or willing to help, but its okay.Im also writing this review because I have noticed panhandling going on for the past several days. It has been different people each day who I believe could be working together. Just be aware.

Best $9.00 cakes in town! Its also easier to get help at the bakery counter at the Milwaukie Safeway compared to other locations.

This location has a great staff. I love the Starbucks kiosk and the deli is awesome! Most of the time the hot food is fresh. But you can sample now. So dont hesitate to ask for a sample of your choice at the deli.

Safeway has a corporate structure that excels at maintaining a consistent experience across all their stores. They rock in every department.I have only one complaint, and its a big one for me: the way they treat you if they think you are poor or homeless. Twice now (once downtown several years ago, and once on the Sandy store a bit over one year ago) I was treated with absolute rudeness I could not even believe. I was coming in from the recycling machines, cashing in my cans and bottles, and asked for access/directions to the restroom. I wanted to wash my hands after handling cans in the nasty recycling room; didnt wanna shop with those dirty fingers! Both times this led to a fiasco. I was automatically profiled, and treated in a way that is inexcusable even if the stereotype was right! They accused me of theft, harassment...it was unthinkable. It turned out to be the things THEY did to ME!! They harassed the heck out of me! Heckled me, wouldnt let me speak, dismissed my human dignity rights. Then they stole from me because on BOTH occasions they refused to redeem my bottle slips. I still cant believe it!However, overall, my Safeway experiences have been good ones.

Nice clean store..they have a cold deli and hot food area..and a Starbucks to boot !!

So far no complaints here besides sometimes they could open more registers so the lines arent forever long, but my kids love it because they have so many car carts! Easy to please. 😂

Never enough checkers but can you blame them business is spotty. They do have 3 self checkouts that move fast enough as long as all 3 persons checking are competent to do so unaided. Produce and good are always fresh and tasty.

Friendly staff ready to help, high quality pharmacy, decent range of basic products, limited range of lactosefree and glutenfree products, multiple motorized accessibility carts, and no product displays blocking those carts from accessing aisles.

Its close to home. The lines are always long. Regardless of the time of day. Self check out is pretty awful. Full carts using self checkout doesnt help with time in this store. From what it looks like. Management has zero desire to staff enough people to make trips to this store timely.

This is a reasonable price store. It is clean and Its well stocked. The staff is helpful.

Quite possibly one of the worst Safeways in the entire PDX area. Checkout lines move at a glacial pace, due in part to the fact that there is only 3 self check outs.The biggest issue I have here by far is the fact that cashiers rarely (if ever) bag anything; I just purchased $100+ of goods and had to bag them all myself. The cashier Jewell didnt utter a single word during our entire interaction. Nobody made any attempt to offer an apology or even an explanation when I mentioned how frustrating it is to pay Safeway prices for a WinCo grade checkout experience, despite being just a few feet away from the GM. If youre planning to grab more than a few items you might as well just go to WinCo, as you can count on nobody bagging anything for you at this Safeway.

PICKUP is not great. Poor customer service! I wont use it again. I got there at my scheduled time. No one answered the call in number for 15 minutes. It was very hot and i wanted to get going.. I was the only car waiting. I finally had to call the service desk. The lady said if she couldnt find someone to bring my order, she would bring it herself. After about 5 minutes someone came out. The young man who brought the groceries was less than gracious about the wait and claimed the phone never rang. I showed him my phone and he e dismissed it, saying again it never rang. He started loading my groceries and didnt review the out of stock items and gave me substituted items without reviewing them with me. When I asked him about the substituted items he denied having picked the groceries for my order,, and said that must be all they had and walked away like I was being a pain to deal with. I dint want most if the substituted items but it was too hot to go find a cart and go back into the store with them.. It was a horrible experience for a first time customer and I will not use them again. Fred Meyer truly has everything figured out including customer service. Lesson learned.

My buttercream for my granddaughters birthday cake was ruined. I called the bakery at this location just before closing and the wonderful gal in the bakery department left 2 lbs of buttercream at self check out for me to save the day! The Woodstock location, which is closer to my house, refused to help me out. I used to work at Safeway and we always sold buttercream! Thank you for saving the day!

Decent selection of GF for someone like with Celiacs. Prices can be meh to good depending on certain items being on sale etc.

Big disappointment why are you guys removing regular yogurts with non fat and low fat products. Not all of us are over weight nor are we diabetes. Some of us can not have the artificial sugars of which i am one of these individuals. I asked one of your managers about this and was told we are a test store, well guys as far as Im concerned you failed the test. Seems to me your pushing product no body really wants.

Definitely overpriced as far as non-specialty grocery stores go, but the store is clean, has good selection, and the staff is very friendly. Be aware if you bring reusable bags, you will be asked to bag your own groceries. This isnt a problem for me, but could be inconvenient for other shoppers.

Poor customer service at the check out. Maggie seemed like she couldnt be bothered as she swiped my groceries. Bringing my own bags I was at the end maneuvering the bagging while continuing to press the button to send my groceries to me. As I neared the end I got barked at that the system was waiting for me to do something and Maggie started helping the guy next in line. I still had eggs and chicken to bag but stopped to insert payment. Maggie gave the cool and indifferent attitude. I thought it might get better over at the Starbucks but it was the same cool indifferent attitude from that young lady. Train your people better in customer service!

One of my favourite places to shop it is close to home and the store is laid out good, easy to find your items.

I like Safeway but the prices there are getting way to high. Am going to start shopping at winco and grocery outlet. I couldnt even spend over 2 dollars for a can of cut green beans. We get frozen for all other veggies but I like canned green beans. A lot cheaper for canned goods at Winco or Grocery Outlet. Sorry Safeway...

Gas can be sold at any time of day… when 4 cars are waiting for gas at 3 minutes before 6 am you can and should open early…. Especially if there’s only 1 person opening and he knows it….

This is a good safe way but a lot of variety and a lot of choices that are not in some of the smaller stores

Great place to shop just need to lower your prices and open up both doors at entrances and ditch jerconion mask mandate for the people that choose not to be afraid.

I went on Friday for their $5 Cinese Buffet which is pretty decent. My son said their General Tso was top of the line from last Friday! I went around 1130 hrs, so stuff was fresh and hot. It wasnt crowded at that time.

Best lunch deal at deli 1 protein and 2 salads for $6.49 I got a thick slab of roast beef!

Its big and has good selection. Prices could be better. Im glad they carry keto bread, its hard to find outside of WinCo. I also like to hit it up for their hand made, made to order deli sandwiches before going on to WinCo, since Im usually not in the mood to cook before going shopping.

Safeway on King road has always been my go-to store! Catherine is the best manager of all time! That lady deserves a raise! She is so helpful and knows where everything is without even having to think and is always so happy to help us customers!

Visited early Sunday morning. Staff werent properly wearing masks. I was going to buy something from the bakery but the man working there had let his face mask fall down to his chin while he talked with another worker by one of the food cases. So I dont think Ill be buying any baked goods there.

Great service in the seafood area. I always go here for seafood even thought it is further from my home.

Never any checkers, when they do its so slow your eyes hurt. The meat section is a huge disappointment. Evertime I go past the meat section I see Green meat. Also they do not go by health guidelines, they keep expired bags of salad on the shelves and refuse to take them down.UPDATE: Husband went there this morning (5/30)and got some herbs, All were moldy.

This location is only a few blocks from my home. But I usually travel to the Webster_Thiessen location because King rd always has long lines, no cleaners and the store in general feels dirty. While the Webster location always has someone cleaning, is well stocked, clean and the lines are not half way down the Isle. Take a look at the 2 store locations. See the huge difference.

The lady who is working at the starbucks station between the hours of 4pm -6pm made my daughters hot chocolate taste like chalk... My son accidentally dropped his hot chocolate on aisle 8. The guy who cleaned it up I think his name is Alex any way was really rude and kept telling me to tell my son to be more careful over and over again.

Even these days they generally have everything I need. Produce is nice as well. Virtually all of the people are friendly and positive. Its not the closest store to my house, but its my go to for groceries.

Not a safe place to shop, was there this evening and saw two elderly ladies not wearing masks the entire time as they walked around and they were never approached or asked asked to put one on, from what I saw. Saw one even interacting with an employee who didnt do anything. Beside that lines are usually long, customer service is hit or miss with being friendly, except for their pharmacy who are always nicr. Food and prices are standard Safeway fare.

Be prepared to wait in line after 10PM. it is amazing to me that you can have 10 registers 3 self checkouts, and yet you still end up with lines of nearly 10 customers and people waiting for well over 10 minutes to checkout. absolutely piss poor customer service

This is a very convenient Safeway and I love going there because of that reason. However these past few weeks I haven’t even felt comfortable to get out of my car. There is a white van with neon lights harassing people and is there all day everyday for the past few weeks! After bringing this to the attention of Safeway staff they haven’t done anything but agree that it’s weird. This is beyond weird. You are losing customers. My neighbors and I will no longer be going here. Do better.

I shop here all the time as it is the only store within walking distance to my house, but when i add coupons to my app and they are not being discounted for some reason, it tends to bother me (yes i have synced ny account when i enter the store). This is not the first time this has happened and i dont appreciate being kept in the self checkout for an hour being argued, yes argued, with as to why im doing something wrong. Ive used coupons before, i can read and yes i know which items do go with the coupons. You cant tell me that when i have a coupon for 1.77 general mills cereal, when there is a picture of honeynut cheerios on the coupon that this cereal is not included. None of the general mills cereals were working, and they still wouldnt enter the coupons by hand. Overall its just a very disappointing experience, if your coupons dont work, DONT HAVE THEM ON THE APP

I shopped around as usual, realized I didnt have my card to make my purchase, I put the merch down and left to grab money. As soon as I got out of the door I was very rudely accused of shoplifting. I told her I say everything down before I walked out and that she needs to check her cameras. She told me I could no longer come back. I did nothing wrong. Very rude woman, I hope she doesnt treat everyone who she feels is stealing like that.

I like Safeway but they are more expensive then if you did your shopping at WinCo. Safeway is closer so i go there for the small stuff.

Safeway always seems to be understaffed. The deli is usually picked clean by 5:00pm which I consider to be dinner time & I ask the deli worker when more chicken will be ready & Im told there not making more tonight. What?Always long lines because theres only two cashiers working at all times.
