I love this place. The staff is out of this world friendly. Like best friend or favorite auntie friendly. I order the same thing every time because its just so fresh. I love the veggie burger with sweet potato tater tots. Its packed with fresh cucumber, sprouts and Im not really sure what else. I just know its amazing. Keep up the good work people! Ill see you for lunch.

Wonderful hometown diner. Though busy we were given great service. The food was delicious and quickly came out. They clean up quickly. Its a busy place for breakfast so you may have to wait for a table to open up. We will definitely be back to try other things

A go-to for late-night breakfast food after drinks in the uptown area. But for those who go to sleep at a normal time, Uptown Diner is a cozy eatery for hearty comfort food. Servings are generous, and more than I can stomach in a single sitting. My last visit I had the tex mex..Or at least half of it. I ended up bringing the other half home to eat for dinner later that day. Friendly service, and a great choice to bring family and friends.

I ordered 2 Cajun omelettes with Andouille Sausage and 2 coffees. Price tag: $51 !!! I enjoyed the meal, but come on man. Way overpriced. Major bummer.

This is a wonderful place to go. The food is very filling and the portions are very large. The apple cinnamon waffles had two full apples worth of cinnamon slices and looked amazing. The chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes were the size of the plate. You can upgrade your pancakes and waffles to have sides for a reasonable price. . I would highly recommend.They also have well crafted malts.

This was one of the best restaurants in Minneapolis, but my last visit was very disappointing. The host was rude and his vibe was not cool.So I just didnt dine. My hope is that the food still is the same good quality. Please dont overlook good customer service its key to all of your faithful and supportive customers. An Uptown staple, and a MUST GO for anyone passing through the Uptown area. Decided to go here at around 1AM and was pleasantly surprised to find they were still open. Open to 11PM most nights, and 24hours on weekends, but this place is good for more than just a late night snack. Whether its breakfast, lunch, or dinner, youre sure to find something to satisfy your craving. Youll find a wide variety of selections, from basic to more exquisite. Being one of the few late night options in the area, it can get a bit busy, so be prepared to wait. But the food here is definitely worth it!

A true Uptown classic. Great service and consistently awesome comfort food. Unless you are a NFL lineman, their portions are so easily split for 2 especially breakfast. Uptown has Unfortunately experienced many challenges during the past couple of years, however no challenges with the staff and food at Uptown Diner. Enjoy!!

Steak and Eggs was awesome. The meat was beat to perfection, eggs runny and hash browns crisp. Salt and pepper and thats it.

This was our first visit. I had the country fried steak breakfast and it was really good. The hash browns were made from fresh potatoes - so good. Service was quick and attentive. It was not very crowded at 8am on Friday for breakfast. Would definitely visit again.

Tried for the first time late on a Friday night. Inside dining was closed by then, but got a chicken philly sandwich with sweet potato tots and a chocolate shake to go, sat outside on their blue tables and it was very good. Service was friendly and had an accurate wait time. The sweet potato tots were very tasty as was everything else. A great place for a late night dinner or snack when everything else is closed.

The food is incredible with fast but friendly service. The food is a little pricey but you definitely get your money’s worth in quantity and quality. This is always the first place I recommend to someone if they tell me they’re visiting or live in Minneapolis. I wouldn’t change a single thing about this place!!

The portions were large, but wasnt too crazy about the waffle. Kinda heavy, not at all like a Belgium, very blah taste with granola or something instead of real apple crisp. The whip cream, apples were good on. I tried the hashbrowns and carmel roll and they were both good, nothing to rave about but no complaints either.

We had a great lunch, not having visited since before the pandemic. The food was quite excellent. I had a Philly Steak sandwich that was about as good as they come. The bread they used was particularly good. I had sweet potato tots on the side, and they were cooked perfectly. My party ordered hamburgers which were also nicely done, along with waffle fries. What was also impressive was how clean everything was, and they clearly were taking COVID precautions seriously. Before being seated we were asked to write our name and phone number, in case any contact tracing would be required. Also, it looked like they had done some remodeling with new flooring and upholstery everywhere. It was a nice experience with great food, and being in a place that clearly cares about their staff and customers. Nice job Uptown Diner!

I was looking forward to getting breakfast at Uptown Diner as I have been here several times. I ordered Country Fried steak. They put 4 times more gravy than needed. More than an inch thick. When I pointed it out to the server, he offered me a plate so I could scrape it off. Yuk! Very disappointing

I discovered this placed while taking my cat to the vet.. The first time I saw it.. I thought it was a regular place... But after i tried the food.. It was a place that I definitely needed to come back.. The hash browns are amazing... I usually get steak and eggs and they are perfect.. The restaurant brings me back to the 90s..I give 5 stars to this place!!!

Had the Cajun catfish with over medium eggs. Toast and hash browns. Best thing on my plate was the catfish. The hasbrowns taste like waterAms the eggs were hardUGH SHOULD HAD STUCK WITH AN OMELET

The food was pretty good. My Cajun omelette was okay. Aside from the hollandaise sauce, it wasn’t seasoned. I would’ve added andouille sausage but it was an additional $5.95. Our favorite item and redeemer was the pineapple upside down pancake. Would recommend.

Me and the misses stopped for breakfast. She had a waffle and I had eggs, bacon, hash brown, toast. We split the hash browns. We barely got our order in and our food was served. Never had service so fast. The food was delicious and staff were pleasant. This will definitely be in our rotation.

You never know what youre going to get in a good breakfast. However, this place had been consistent for years. Huge portions and decent prices. I no longer live in this area but when we do come to visit, were coming here every time. Not to mention, the food arrives very fast after ordering.

Perfect diner atmosphere! Coffee was topped off hot three entire time, food was fast and delicious and nobody judged me for dining alone. Great place to chill and write, get stuff done while sipping a cup and snacking on pie. Its on busy Hennepin, but theyve got an actual big parking lot; huge plus on a frozen day.

Usually, always, an incredible experience. Have been going here for 25 years. But...I brought my besfriend here last week, it was her first time, and I was underwhelmed. They changed the hashbrown cut so theyre thicker, they were not crispy as requested, the eggs were bleh, I had to ask for items missing from my meal. I will keep coming here but Im curious what happened in the last 6 months that changed, cook? mgmnt? Vendors?

Everything that I have eaten here what is delicious and they have oversized portions. I usually do the country fried steak and eggs regardless of the time of day, but the few times I have deviated I was not displeased.

I love this place! The portions are quite massive, prices are fair, and they even have Gluten Free options. I have plans to go back more often. 💚

How fantastic is it to go somewhere at 10 pm when everything is closed and pop into Uptown Diner with your kids and have the best service and food for the whole family. Nice place, the country fried steak and eggs was great. The only downside was the hash browns were soggy and way under cooked, and it was freezing cold inside the building. Other than that, good place, will eat there again.

A huge diverse menu, and some of the best chocolate chip pancakes Ive ever eaten. Their iced coffee is fantastic.

Service bad. Food had to be redone several times. Physicility was had several dirty tables even though they werent busy. Food was ok once they got it right. Just not a good day to go to this restaurant. Have been there once before it was much better before covid of course but for it being so slow. This unacceptable, no real excuse Due to the previous time I will will try this again.
