A hidden (at least from me) gem in downtown Mobile. Great coffee, cool setting, friendly people. It was a bit busier than I expected on a Monday morning, but that just added to the atmosphere. Great place to get some work done if youre not stuck in an office.

Caring and friendly staff! Quaint and quirky.. Music can be heavy but the outdoor seating area is very nice and the space is lovely. As for the coffee, they have the best in town. Iced lattes and cappuccinos are delicious.

Wanted an espresso and a little walk so visited nova espresso today. Great service and espresso! The baristas were very happy and friendly! Took less than a minute to make it . Flavor was exceptional.

High-quality coffee should balance acidity, sweetness, and bitterness in one sip, with a smooth flavor, and no off-notes. This place falls short of these expectations. If you’re a hipster with no tastebuds but a knack for overpriced day old diner coffee…. This is your place. 😉Maybe next time they will put more effort and thought into how they make their “cup of joe” but I highly doubt it.One star is the lowest I could give this place and it barely deserves that. My advice is to go to yellowhammer, or any other local coffee shop in business more than a couple of years. Remember quality over quantity! Maybe they will perfect their coffee in another decade, if they are even around in the next 5 years.

This is THE place for serious coffee in Mobile. The cortado was made expertly, great ratios and the right temp for immediate consumption. The cold brew is tasty, too, retaining some of the brightness thats usually lost in the making process. Plus, they have an awesome Bellwether roaster and roast their own coffee, in-house.Beyond all that, the vibe is great. Go check it out!

This is no ordinary cup of Joe! A blend available to even satisfy the most discriminating of palates - - whether you seek coffee or tea! Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Locals camp here and youll see familiar, friendly faces if you frequent this place, too. Point system for rewards. Might plan to wait a bit ... preparation is careful, but somewhat slow. Worth the time and you can enjoy conversation with those around you. No difficulty in finding many students with open Macs sitting and sipping a cup! Family known to sit in the grass with their kids or dogs. Real comfortable vibe!

Ive tried this place a hand full of times, trying to give it the benefit of the doubt because its a small business. The ONLY thing I liked each time is the set up with the outdoor space. Masks required upon entry. (Not a huge deal) but my first time going I asked for recommendations, the lady behind the counter was busy texting and talking to another worker as I waited patiently for a response and eventually got ignored and had to make a decision for myself (also not really a complaint).What I do want to say is that after I made the order and received the Mocha espresso (which tasted horribly) lack of flavor and had just an awful taste; after expressing my concerns with the barista— she was very rude about it and brushed it off.I don’t recommend this place as a breakfast and coffee spot because of the lack of variety in the food aspect. Simple small coffee menu would make you think, they would perfect each of the items they serve — but sadly they do not.Lastly, this place is poorly managed, typically dont leave bad reviews but people need to know. They are very unprofessional. I spoke to another customer the last time I visited and they said when they spoke to the actual owner about some issues, she was very impolite and rude about the entire situation denying any fault in it. Personally— I feel as the owner of a business, you should listen to the criticism of patrons and try to work on those things. Blaming customers, making rude comments on feedback… just doesn’t seem professional to me at all.Alas, just look at the owners response to customers who have left 1 star reviews…. Leaving sarcastically rude responses and defending everything without ever accepting some of the responsibilities… tsk tsk… that’s just a poorly ran business. Here’s to hoping they take the negatives and turn them into positives and improve their coffee experience for customers. 🙂

Tasty latte with a really nice outdoor seating area.

I honestly think this is one of the best coffee shops in this area. Best one in Mobile hands down. Love the staff and the vibe is just super relaxing and quiet enough to focus on school work. Love it.

I tried the maple bourbon latte, and it was delicious! The flavor was amazing. Every drink here is crafted perfectly. This is the spot for all things coffee.

Great Cortado. Cozy place.

After looking at the reviews for Nova I was looking forward to giving it a try. The atmosphere was nice but that is where the good ended. I ordered a regular Chai it was $5, a little pricey for a smallish drink but that would have been somewhat ok had it been a really good Chai. It wasn’t. It really just tasted like warm milk. I really thought the place was clean and relaxing but the drink really missed the mark. I would have still been disappointed at half that price. I may give them a second chance but probably not with all the good choices around.

After being on a month long road trip, and trying coffee from local coffee shops in every state/city I’m in, this is the best one yet! It was the cutest little coffee shop I have been to, and by far the best espresso/latte I have had. The barista was also amazing and so kind! If I’m ever passing by again I will definitely be back! 12/10

Went to this place because of the reviews. As far as a hangout its a super cool place. Which makes up for the coffee bean soup water we got. The little buddy was recommended, I would not recommend it in the future. I was super excited because of how cool this place was but the coffee was not the best Ill tell you.

First time, I did not have my mask on, no one inside the building was wearing a mask except the employee. Even though I was six feet back to order the employee asked me to put on a mask. After I ordered and sat down where everyone else was sitting without a mask, I took it off. The girl brought me my coffee with out the muffin I ordered, and when I mentioned it to her she quickly said it was being heated up? How long dose it take to Newk a muffin? Then I watched her clear off a few tables and was not wearing gloves then returned with my muffin that she obviously touched with out a glove. It was not a good experience. They weren’t rude but they weren’t friendly either. If your gonna be a stickler to people walking in with out a mask, yet everyone in there had no mask on at least be nice about it. And don’t touch my muffin after you’ve cleared off tables and moved chair aroud. Oh and the muffin was still cold on the side. After waiting an extra five minutes to get it.

This is my favorite coffee place in Mobile! I love how you can buy the lazy latte to take home and enjoy! All the baristas have been friendly as well as the owner of Nova! I think its awesome they have a bellwether roaster which is environmentally friendly and has zero emissions.

Coming from just outside the coffee epicentre of Vancouver, Canada, we always google Third Wave Coffee on our travels and see what we can find. Bottom line: this place is LEGIT. I ordered a mid-afternoon cortado that was near perfect. I had to get some beans ground for my Aeropress for the remainder of my vacation but needed more than one 12oz bag, so my man Tim kindly hooked me up with two bags of the Finca Huixoc—grinding about a pound for me for now, and then giving me the remainder as whole beans in another bag to drop into my Rocket Mozzafiato type V once I get home next week.Great vibe, not too cool, friendly, serious on their game, and delicious coffee. Thanks, guys. Well done. See you next time.

Nova is the only place that always has 100% of everything I expect out of a coffee shop. Great environment, good background music and the best coffee Ive ever had. A no brainer for me. 12/10

Delicious coffee! We got the bourbon maple syrup in an oat milk latte and it was divine! Alaina (Alena?) brightened a rainy day with her sunny disposition! Can’t wait to come back the next time we are in Mobile.

Coffee was great, service is always enjoyable. Underrated part of the entire shop... the parking. You never have to wonder, theres always a space near on one of the side street.

The staff here is amazing!! Quality addition to the neighborhood. You can feel the friendship when you walk in. You can really surf this third wave. The expresso?? Otherworldly. Location? Off the beaten path. Milk as alternative as the customers. NOVA? More like SUPERNOVA.

Everyone is always very friendly. The coffee is always very delicious. Its a comfortable place to sit inside or outside. When I go somewhere new I tend to try a different thing each time to really get a feel for the place but the first drink that I tried here was so delicious I have a hard time wanting to try anything else. It was an instant favorite for me!

The staff here is incredibly welcoming and kind. I had a meeting with a friend and dont drink coffee, but was still kindly given a glass of water and treated as if I had bought everything in the shop. Theres a great comfortable atmosphere that is warm and inviting. Give this place a shot, Im sure your experience will be similar to mine.

The coffee was delicious and well-made, but our experience on the whole is what will stick in our minds.The baristas were polite and friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and not pretentious at all. We had a great conversation with the owner, Tim; the coffee experiences of his customers are clearly his top priority.The facilities are clean, the coffee is great, the people are friendly, and the location/outdoor seating area are historical and picturesque. During our time here, this coffee shop went from pit stop to destination. We cant wait to go back.

The coffee here is first rate, properly prepared. The space is bright and airy, and quite a bit more urban than most things in Mobile. There is seating inside and out on a small patio, enough to sit and study for a bit without bothering anyone else.

Excellent Coffee. Favorite is the Vanilla Iced Latte, but their Lavender Espresso blew me away this past Sunday. Theyve been doing pop ups all over while waiting for this new building, this past weekend was at Southern National on Dauphin st

The perfect shop! They have a constant rotation of espresso from Tweed Coffee, plus Topo Chico is always in stock! The vibes are always perfect to sit and talk, or get work DONE! Not to mention their patio and yard are perfect for summer hangs and corn hole tournaments. Its within walking distance to everything in Downtown, but also never feels too crowded. The owners are very knowledgable and easy to talk to, and honestly make you feel right at home. A must stop!(P.S. Nova is the most aesthetically pleasing coffee shop in Mobile!)

Took my wife out to here this morning, coffee was fantastic, presentation was right out of an Instagram influencers albums. Decor is very minimalist and natural and bright making it feel very spacious

We were in Mobile for Mardi Gras and found ourselves in need of some caffeine. We stumbled across Nova Espresso and went in to have some coffee and chai. We also had a piece of bourbon buttermilk cake. The Wife accidentally spilled her chai and the guys fixed her up with a replacement. Gratitude. The restroom was nice and clean. The outside tables are in nice shaded grounds, relaxing! If you find yourself in downtown Mobile and in need of java, chai, or tea go see the good baristas at Nova Espresso.
