It is open for dine-in. The employees were really great. They were so kind. Food is mediocre. If you like unique places to go, this is a good option, as it is the oldest restaurant in Mobile...as such, the interior is wearing down, but the employees did a great job of keeping things clean. I think its worth going to one time, just for the history, but if I lived in the area, I wouldnt need to go back for the food.
I have been wanting to visit this place because every time we pass by there is a nice little crowd. We finally got the chance to stop in. I will definitely be going back again. It had a nice atmosphere nothing fancy you felt good just casual and just taking it easy there. Of course we wanted to try the famous hot dogs. They were good but the onion rings were absolutely delicious! I would be happy just to have a plate of those because they were DELICIOUSLY CRUNCHY! We will definitely be going back there.

I havent been here in a good while, decided to try them again one day. To me the prices are too high and at some prior point had started going up rapidly. Maybe not all their fault? The fried oysters were very very overcooked and had no flavor to me. Good fried oysters should have a distinct flavor & aroma that is very alluring & tasty. These had none. The wait staff was very competent and friendly enough. And hard-working.
Food was good grilled pork chop had to much salt on them everything else was ok.
From the Road Food book; this place very unique and obviously in the book for the atmosphere. We had the hot dogs and great conversation with adjacent guests. The guests more intriguing than the food.

This is the oldest restaurant in Mobile and its just whole in the wall. They have some really good food so give it a try. The most popular items are the hot dogs. I usually get the cheeseburger which has chili. They serve steak fries instead of crinkle cut. Besides that type of menu, they also serve homestyle food too, such as hamburger steak, pork chops, many vegetables, etc. All of it is great!

Their Oyster Po-Boy today was the most delicious thing I have eaten in a very long time! I think there were about a dozen wonderful fried oysters on the buttery fried bun and the tartar sauce was perfect! I couldnt eat all of the fried onion rings and french fries which were also good!YUM!

I have heard about this spot for over 40 years. I tried their signature hot dogs, hot fries and onion rings. 2 hotdogs was allO could eat! Not fancy, but always tastey.
I had the broccoli soup, Well I would suggest finding out how Panera Bread makes theirs and go from there.

The dining room is open and the front door was propped open to allow for some good ventilation so that is good for the current pandemic. They werent too busy so if you are observing all the proper precautions, it is probably a good time to check it out because thats the time I think it used to stay pretty packed. Theres construction going on next door.

I am not a picky person at all but this was some of the blandest and driest food I have every had. The atmosphere was nice, like a nice small town dinner but the food is terrible. I got the roast beef poboy with fries both where bland and dry. I could not even finish it because it was so bad. It is also very overpriced for the quality of the food. Im shocked that this place was so busy when I went. I will not be going back any time soon. would not recommend.

Best hot dogs ever
Heard great things about there hotdogs but decided on the hamberger steak. Now im not a picky person. In fact i usually dont say nothing if i have a complaint and i wouldnt have this time except she asked if something was wrong because i didnt eat my steak. I told her honestly it just didnt taste good at all. It reminded me of tv dinner Salisbury steak(the cheap mystery meat kind). I was hungry but i could not even tolerate the taste. The cheese curds were to die for though but that was the only good thing we ordered. Even the sides tated tv dinnerish. They ended up taking it off the check so that was awesome of them. I didnt even exspect that.

Cannot recommend this place at all, we were 2 out of the three customers there, the other table had already placed their order. We waited over 5 minutes no one ever came and asked us if we wanted a drink. There was at least three to four employees working if you call it that. Their food used to be good, I would not know. Because we left after not receiving any service.
One of my most favorite local restaurants in Mobile. Ive never ordered anything that I didnt like off of their menu. From chili cheese dogs and hamburgers, to seafood poboys and platters, to good ole down home cooked soul food- The Dew Drop has something for everyone to enjoy. Just make sure that whatever you order you complete it with their Banana Pudding and youll be doing just fine! Wonderful food at very low costs. Mobile wouldnt be the same without The Dew Drop Inn!!

I was taken here because I am moving here from Pennsylvania and this was exposure to Mobiles King of Hotdogs 🌭! I have never had chili, kraut, and mustard on a 🌭 at the same time. It was strangely delicious. And the dog was pink! Interesting! Ill be back for more.

Great food chili is amazing on everything. The owner is amazing and friendly to everyone that walks through the doors. He tries to know everyone by there name and treats everyone that walks through the doors like they were his own family. Don’t have anything to say but great things about this place. This is one of my favorite places in Mobile! I actually worked here on and off for 10 years. The food will remind you of your childhood if you are from Mobile. It hasn’t changed and I hope it never does. My recommendation, get everything the way it comes. It’s made like that for a reason. Chili, kraut, mustard, ketchup and a pickle on a toasted bun (pink dog)makes the best version of a hot dog ever made. Try the crab omelette sandwich and put an onion ring or 2 on the sandwich. Order onion rings with everything. They are the best you ever ate. You can thank me later.If you know anyone in Mobile, you will run into them here. It’s a hole in the wall, but I can tell you from experience, Powell runs a tight, spotlessly clean kitchen. They close early on Saturday and are closed on Sunday.( the man has gotta sleep) Drop in for lunch weekdays and you will be welcomed like an old timer. Eat one for me!
This place is always amazing, if you come to mobile and you dont go to the Dew Drop Inn, then you have missed mobile. The food has been consistently the same and fantastic for as long as Ive been going there, and that is about 40 years. I dont know how they do it. The waiters and waitresses are always nice and attentive, I highly recommend going to the Dew Drop.
This is a mobile classic. Im not sure that the decor or the menu has ever changed which is perfectly fine by me. You can always expect to have the same consistently good lunch by attentive, happy servers. Hot dogs are a must!
Haven’t been in years, and glad google pointed me to this restaurant based on my location. Food was really good. Prices are excellent and gumbo is some of the best in town. No wonder this is the oldest continuously operated restaurant in Mobile.
I usually would give five stars to the Dew Drop, but they had a fail today. We called in takeout, but when I got home part of the order was missing. I guess I shouldve checked it before I left, but I simply assumed the order would be correct. Also, the onion rings tasted like theyd been sitting there awhile (Ive had them as takeout before, and they usually travel a lot better, so I dont think that was the problem). I also wish theyd told me on the phone about the new cash discount, which really amounts to a surcharge on credit/debit cards. I hardly ever carry cash, so of course I didnt have any on me.

Simply the best hot dog, onion rings & mug of cold draft beer available anywhere, & served in one of Mobile’s oldest, midtown restaurant settings. It’s a favorite of Mobile locals, just ask Jimmy Buffet!

The overall experience was good but there are a few things that could have been better.Good: food tasted good and I got more shrimp on my poboy than I expected, all the staff that we spoke to were nice and friendly.Not so good: my feet kept sticking to the floor, we were looking at menu and explained that we needed a minute to decide but it took about 10 minutes for the waitress to come back around.On a side note, the sweet tea wasnt sweet enough for me but I understand that everyone has a different preference for their tea.

They have the best do drop in dogs on the planet! These are their signature hot dogs they made ever since they opened and theyre delicious. They also had the best steak fries that money could buy as well, and they sell catfish in gumbo.

When I go home to Mobile I really have to go back to my favorite place where my Mother took me as a child. They have anything from a Bamberger to a drop your teeth over Crab Omelet. This omelet is so good the crab is fresh and it is never over done. The service is quick and very helpful. It must be good because they are always pretty busy but they have it together were you never have to wait for long. The hamburgers are just as wonderful. A really great place for you to start a tradition.

Its very similar to the food from the Varsity in Atlanta. Tastes really good, but probably not some place youd go very often. Place was clean and the service was excellent.

Very good home style food joint. The Dew Drop has been a staple in the area for many years and the decor screams frozen in time. Prices are VERY reasonable! Known for their hamburgers and hot dogs, be aware they put chili on everything.
A must try if youve got some time in Mobile. Best known locally for their got dogs and hamburgers. People tell me the daily specials are good, but I always go with a chili dog, a chili-cheese burger, and the half-and-half onion rings and fries.

The Dew Drop is one of those restaurants that you have to visit when you come to town. Most people have heard of it, no matter where you are from. The dogs are unique and as healthy as any other dog but awesome flavor. Getting a Dew Drop dog or burger is as much a conversation starter as lunch. It hasnt changed in many years, thats the way we like it.
A Mobile traditional serving comfort food in a cozy atmosphere. Servers are friendly and prompt. I got the hot dog sandwich, it was delicious!
