My absolute favorite coffee shop! Carries a variety of flavors and milk substitutes (including oat milk). The drinks always come out good and the staff is always super friendly and kind.

Really poor experience at Java Love this morning. As I entered two people were chatting in seating area and no one was behind the counter. I waited at the counter and moved around a bit and was sure the two people chatting saw me but neither of them ended the conversation or offered a be right with you. Eventually a line formed - still they kept chatting. Then someone came in past the line and went in to behind the counter and served me - Im guessing this person was on their break and just returned. I wasnt greeted, and there was no apology for the wait. Once this staff member served me the other two people appeared to go back to work. I figured maybe they didnt know how to use the register or it wasnt their responsibility to serve customers. I got my drinks and moved to the side where one of the original people talking then proceeded to serve the next customer. I said to him oh you do work here then, I wasnt sure - he just glared at me, still offering no apology for my waiting for 5mins while he had a nice chat with his coworker. I wont be back.

Montclair has an awesome coffee culture. If you aint got good coffee you wont make it here, but all the places here from Java Love, Paper Plane to Sweet kitchen to name a few have great coffee. Check them all out!

Best cappuccino Ive ever had in my life! Its light and fluffy with no heavy after taste or feeling. I usually dont post my experiences publicly but this time I couldnt resist!! DELISH!!!

Great place and customer service. I love the latte art and the chalk doodlings. Such a cozy place with a great vibe.

Not too crazy about their coffee..kinda weak if u ask me..and the syrup flavors are super weak..tons of other decent small boutique coffee shops around town or neighboring towns

I cant say enough great things about this place. Even during this pandemic they are still welcoming and friendly while doing their best to social distance. Its almost impossible for me to go out and just grab a snack due to my gluten-free and milk free diet but this place offers the best Lemon Poppyseed Donuts Ive ever had. They are so delicious you would never know they are gluten free and vegan without asking. They are definitely a must try if your in the area for breakfast or just out looking for a great cup of coffee. You will not regret stopping by there.

Such a great addition to Church st. I really like theyre roasts and adore the raw breakfast bars. So yummy. I love the lounge chairs outside too! My kind of coffee shop!

You can smell the coffee brewing halfway down the street. The aroma is intoxicating! The vegan donuts were A-MAY-ZING! Very DELISH! Its a small coffee house but the atmosphere is cozy and inviting! The music is retro right now playing Rock Lobster by the B-52S! The staff, Mariah, Jack and Zack are friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating to my dietary needs! Totally my go back to every chance I get!!!!!!

It’s good coffee if you want to place an order, then have 6 people that ordered after you get their coffee first. I left a tip...so idk what I did wrong to get serviced last. I literally watched a women walk up and in 5 minutes got two “specialty” drinks . I ordered a flat white and waited 20 mins...I gave it 3 stars because of the upper Montclair location. They’re much more efficient and serve drinks in order.Lastly, the almond croissants lately feel like a rock, but it’s possible they’re getting the croissants from another bakery.

Great coffee and they usually have a selection of gluten free/allergy friendly snacks. On two occasions, they have forgotten an item with my order (typically a pastry or snack) so Id just recommend checking before leaving. A great shop: cool decor and a nice place to hang out.

Great coffee and baked goods. Didnt get an especially kid friendly vibe when I was in with my kindergartner. Coming from Brooklyn which has a bounty of friendly cafes, I was a bit surprised by that since I thought Montclair was a family friendly area.

Honestly, not great coffee. Of the local places, my least favorite. Reminds me of Dunkin Donuts.

Simply one of my favorite cafes, ever. Great place to sit, to run into friends - and to enjoy the company of the very entertaining baristas. They play fantastic music too.

On this visit I tried a Clark griswald with oat milk-amazing! The temperature was perfect and the milk substitute was creamy! Something I rarely find at other shops!Will absolutely be back again!

First time in this store, needed a break from work, and what a joy it was to visit this place! The super-sweet and kind barista was not only knowledgeable about the pour-over coffee method, but was excited to teach people about it and to be sure Id know what I was purchasing. The cup of coffee I left with was (is) delicious, and the whole experience was just what I needed to reset my spirits after a difficult couple of days at the office. I will visit again and Ill bring people with me, too! Thank you, Java Love, Im feelin the love!

Simply the best coffee in town. Employees are fabulous as is the setting inside and outside on Church St. in Montclair Center. I am walking over there now to get my fix.

Coffee done right, with interesting flavor pairings (such as my personal favorite Purple Rain, a latte with white chocolate and lavender syrup), locally farmed milk, tasty baked goods from Montclair Bread, and personable service that is sincere, constant and another great part of my experience on weekly visits. Stop by Sunday afternoons for great live music.

Been here twice, lots of different choices. Not a vegan, had the vegan doughnuts - holy hell were they good. Will be going back whenever Im in the area.

It was my first time going to java love because I heard so many good things about it. I had a chai tea latte and by far it was the worst chai tea latte I’ve ever had. I immediately threw it out after one sip. Just don’t get the chai tea latte.

I was quite happy to come across this cafe as I am tired of visiting starbucks. Free wifi, always somehow lucky enough to grab a table to sit. Love the location cuz we always seem to go there after lunch. Highly recommended !
