Do not come here unless you know someone who comes here already. Weirdest experience in a Gaming Store of my life. Store was littered with various gaming parefenalia everywhere. Shelves in disarray and the customer service was terrible. We were the only people in the store, looking for a board game, and the employee did not get up, told us if its on the shelf weve got it, otherwise we dont, and barely engaged with us at all. Not inviting whatsoever. Also, no phone number listed, so I had to drive to see their stock... Just for this weird experience.

Poorly stocked, disheveled, and somewhat dreary. Visions has fallen from its glory days of the past. However there is still a decent crowd of patrons that still visit the store and maintain the gaming community.

Ive played it a lot of card stores as Ive grown up over the years up and down the East coast. When I walked into the store a year ago little did I realize that I was walking into a big family I had yet to join. The owners are friendly and patient. Plenty of players for both tcg and tabletop games. Plenty of amazing memories were made in the store and it felt like a second home to me. I wish I had the words to explain how much Visions means to me.

The staff was very friendly knowledgeable and extremely helpful, they were able to pre-order all the products that I requested and even took my name and number to give me a courtesy call when they arrived. Visions offered to get me connected with a local commission builder/painter to help me with my project. I will definitely be referring Visions in the future.

Visions Cards and Games is the best game shop that I visited ever since.Just wondered if they have new card games that I could play with friends while chilling out, that is why I visited this shop. Was not disappointed because they have so much more card games available than i expected. Too many options to choose from. It was great. Although it takes me almost 1 hour to choose because of a lot of choices. Ha!I really enjoyed the place. It was like I became a kid again. Will be visiting Visions Cards and Games soon to buy another set of card games. Really enjoyed it with my friends. Highly recommended.

Visions Cards and Games is the best location to go to if youre looking for great tabletop games, role-playing games, card games, and much more. It also provides a great environment for people of the community to gather and play together, as well as tournaments. They keep all of their events well kept up with on their Facebook page. The owners are fantastic and extremely helpful, as well as friendly. This is definitely a highly recommended stop.

About 7-8 years ago I wrote a very negative review for Visions. I ended it by saying, if they got new management then the place might be good again. Fast forward to a year ago. They have not only new management, but new owners. I have to admit I was wrong. The change did not make Visions a good place to be, it made it a great place to be. Everyone there is friendly, and openly invites my young son to join in the games. John, Ashley, and Calvin and all employees have spent hours helping me get better, and they do it with a smile.

Visions is awesome. Ive been to three Magic the Gathering pre-release tournaments, and I had a great time. They usually have cool accessories on sale for them, too. I also go here for my board games and D&D stuff. Ive been to the board game night they had, too, and it was a load of fun. I got there late, and still one of the regulars stopped what he was doing and came over to show us how to play a new game. These guys are always helpful and want you to have a good time no matter what youre visiting for.

With a knowledgeable and friendly staff, Visions is a hub of board games, including Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons 5e Adventurers League, WarHammer 40K, Star Wars, among others, for the Montgomery area community. I have played several of these games there since 2014 and have enjoyed these weekly excursions. Thank you for being a great host and I look forward to playing there again soon.

THE cards and games store in the Montgomery Area. Been around since the 80s and is a wonderful place to shop for collectible card games, board games, miniatures, etc.It can be intimidating at first if you are introverted, as the community is very tight and may not go out of their way to welcome new players, but the service is good and the community is something special if you give it time to get acclimated.

Minority owners do not care about their customers. They will say and do anything to make money even if it means lying to their customers constantly. Then they want to threaten former customers with legal action for posting negative reviews. Even former customers who have not posted anything at all. They try to bully people so no one will post anything negative. They do not know how to run a business. Instead of being honest to their customers about product they did not order, they lie and blame the distributors instead of being honest.

These people are family. Never in my life as a gamer have I met a group of store owners and employees as outstanding and personal as Visions. They will bend over backwards to find the cards, playmats, dice or any other product for you. They will literally hunt down that one card to finish your deck or provide one-on-one guidance on how to put it together. Sure, they may be rough around the edges, but the current owners have only been in business for a year and that is a part of their down to earth charm. Now, I live 3 hours away and I still rather order directly from them then buy from my local game store.

Review №30

They ban anyone from coming to their store if you say anything negative about the way the owners treat everyone who isnt a Magic The Gathering player.Card game players get extreme favoritism over anyone else, they kicked my friends and I out from a pre-schedualed event with them, so their Magic people could hang out. They also offer no real incentive to buy from them. Their prices are higher than retail most of the time and it takes way too long to get anything in.

(I am a magic the gathering player) dont come here if you have a choice there used to be a nice standard and draft scene but that has slowly drifted away. Only thing left here is modern so if you play modern you should fit in pretty well. However dont count on getting any of the cards for your deck the stores card selection is horrible at best and there isnt a person in sight willing to trade you even the most useless cardsAlso buying sealed product from this place is basically a cash grab (I understand that thats what stores are but this one is really bad). They sale booster packs at $4 a piece (just as Walmart does) and booster boxes at $143!!!And to top this all of they only have One respectable employee! (Hope you show up when he is around)

I just think the Magic community isnt big in this area, like in areas such as Biloxi Ms. The store would be a lot more consistent on FNM, but thats not really a store problem. The small MTG community we do have here is pretty welcoming, and the store is not bad it self.

I posted a one star review on Facebook about a month ago, because of rude management. I guess that review was a little incorrect. The owners are very rude. I don’t know her name, but every time I have been in that store while the female owner has been there, she has been rude. But because of that one one star review a month ago, one of the other owners messaged me on Facebook today threatening legal action because of “slander and harrassment”. I have not been in the store, nor said anything about the store since that one review. So no, I do not recommend this establishment.

Three or four stars, leaning on four.Visions is a pretty good place to hang out and you can meet lots of new people here.. but I dont always feel comfortable with the atmosphere and crowd there.I feel like a lot of the people that play Magic there are unapproachable and uptight..probably theyre just not my kind of people/I just cant relate to them because Im kind of a casual player.but I dunno..My experiences have been best with the tabletop gaming. People there are generally very kind and friendly.. They are happy to help beginners and the games are generally newbie friendly. They come up with creative ideas on how to make the games more fun... ^^It has been my best experiences of table-top gaming so far.My biggest complaint is with the background noise/chatter. Omg.. It triggers my anxiety so much. Thats why I dont go there often.. They had music.. not sure how often they play music like that and it would be a recent thing.. but that didnt even help decrease my anxiety too much.I dont exactly know what I think about the staff. I dont talk to them much, and dont think they are very relatable..I dont feel like Visions is a very welcoming place.. when you first walk in.. People arent excited to meet strangers. Theyre busy talking or playing games. Its a very serious place. xDI have known about Visions for years, and Visions is better than it used to be. I am glad about that. Hopefully something can be done about the background noise. v.vLast but not least.. The merchandise is pretty good. Im so glad we have a game store like Visions. I wish they sold more than just games, though.. Like maybe comics and anime. xD

I was looking to sell some old trading card games from my childhood and decided to stop by here to see if buying CCGs was something they did. Immediately upon entering the store I was openly stared at by both employees and patrons. It was like theyd never seen a woman come into the store before. When I explained what I was there for they treated me like a child and acting like they had better things to do besides help me; it was obvious they thought that since I was a woman I didnt have a clue what I was talking about and were judging me. Now, I dont consider myself to be an uppity feminist who tosses around accusations of misogyny like candy, but I have NEVER had an experience like that in a store before. I felt like I was under a microscope. I will not be going back.

I have given Visions several chances, as they are the only game store around. Ive never had an enjoyable experience.First off the store smells. Walking in the smell of sweat and dampness meets you. Its not the best feeling walking in to buy a game.Second, like one of the reviewers below, I too get stares when I walk in. Almost as if youre not a regular youre an outsider a freak, and no ones there to welcome you. The employees (if there are any at the counter) dont say hi, hello, welcome or anything, totally ignoring you as you walk in.Third, once you are able to get the attention of an employee they seem as they are burdened by being taken away from hanging out to answer questions about games.Fourth, the shelves and board games are constantly covered in dust. Its bad to have to worry about getting your hands physically dirty when you only want to browse a board game selection.Fifth, the employees again. They never seem interested in answering general questions about games, or providing any sort of customer service. I have been literally ridiculed by employees at the counter when trying to make a purchase with them saying things like, Oh, you REALLY want to buy this?. As if my selection was not good enough or did not meet their approval. Why are you even selling a game that you dont like? Its impossible to want to go to this store to make a purchase. The employees have no want to be there, and even while ringing up your purchase make no effort to make conversation, smile, say thank you, and most of the time they continue on with their personal conversations - with the language described by other reviewers - while they finish the transaction.Sixth, the layout of the store is pain. In order to browse the games (board games or rpg books), you have to walk through the crowds of people playing at tables, standing beside tables, leaned up against bookshelves next to tables. Its inconvenient for someone trying to make a purchase. The ONLY reason I didnt review at one star is because they allow people to come and game for free, and not everyone in the area has a place to do that. So I guess they have that going for them.

Review №45

Im a Visions regular, and Ive been going there for years, ever since they moved from the Debby Drive location on the other side of town. To answer some of the concerns the other reviewers have made:Yes the language can get sort of course, but the employees do try to regulate it as much as possible, but when there are 50+ people in the store, you cant stop everyone. They dont hate children, in fact they have Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments every week, which are primarily for the kids. What they dont want is extremely young children who dont know how to behave themselves being dropped off by their parents as though Visions was some kind of free day care. They allow anyone to come in, sit down, and play the game of their choice for free, but that doesnt mean theyre gonna raise your kids for you.The woman who came in and said she felt like everyone was watching her, well all I can say is you have to understand who youre talking about. Were gamers/nerds/geeks/whatever, and for the most part women dont come in the store, so the guys hanging around were probably just happy that a lady was making an appearance. I cant speak for the employees though...if you were selling cards to the store, theyre somewhat cheap on that front anyway, so dont feel like it was just you. The market for singles is rough, and the store has to make as much money on those as it can in order to stay open for nerds like me to hang out there. All in all, if youre looking for a good gamer hangout, check them out. They play a lot of CCGs like Magic, Vanguard, and others, and you can also usually find them playing other board games or tabletops like Warhammer too.
