This is hands down the best mechanic I have ever been to. They are fast and reliable, and they have better pricing than anyone in the area. And Keith at the front desk is very kind and a great person to do business with. He is excellent at making sure things get done the right way and in a timely manner. He is also very good about keeping people updated about their vehicles. I highly recommend this mechanic.

Keith and his mechanics really pulled through for us. We were on our way to Ohio for a wedding when our timing chain snapped. Through part national back orders and a myriad of other mechanical issues ranging from transmission to engine to wheel bearings, they took it all on in stride. Took my daughters car there for replacement of ball joints, inner and outer tie rods and brakes and rotors. Decently priced. Keith even replaced a brake caliper and the two front tires and a spindle that was cracked at no extra charge. He wanted to make the car as safe as possible for my daughter and granddaughter. Keith was caring and efficient despite only having one other technician with him. He was super busy and understaffed but I still had my oil change done faster and cheaper than most places. Being a female customer in mechanics can be scary and vulnerable but Keith did not overcharge/try to scam me and he was very friendly.

I’ve used Sparks for lots of services since my time in Muncie (2 years now), and I’ve been very disappointed with the quality of service. No one calls to give you updates—you have to continuously call them—and service takes WEEKS most times. It’s possible they take on more business than they can handle, but I prefer they just be honest about it. They always have an excuse—like a part hasn’t come in. But I’ve never waited as long for my car to be repaired at any other shop.They also always claim they’re giving you a huge discount, to the point that it’s not believable. As soon as they give a quote, they’ll always say it’s half the charge or something to that effect, but it’s always been expensive, in my experience. And they offer no additional discount or anything for taking much longer than estimated to repair your car.I also once had them tell me to bring my car back if the issue wasn’t fixed, because they weren’t sure they’d fixed it. While I appreciate that they were offering to fix my car for free if the issue persisted, if I leave my car at a shop for a week or more, I expect them to be fairly certain the issue is taken care of.Most of all, the professionalism is the biggest issue. I’ve used Sparks many times, and I always get the sense that excuses are being made/I’m being lied to. Just be upfront about what you charge and how long it will take.

I would not recommend Sparks to anyone. I was taken advantage of by Keith’s manipulation, and was almost robbed $700. Their meddling with my car posed risk to my car breaking down further, and the danger of me being stranded 17 miles away from home in the middle of the night.I took my car in to get maintenance done on it. One of the things they did was flush my coolant. The next evening, on my way home from work, my car overheated and steamed up, so I figured something was wrong with my coolant. I made it home okay without the car overheating again (thankfully, because I had a long commute and I work until midnight). Sparks looked at it the next day and quoted me about $700 because the coolant “Y tube was cracked,” and needed replaced. This was about mid-April when they quoted me this.We got very suspicious after my father in law said that a Y tube on a Subaru is not plastic and was made to not break. Also, if you google them, they are only worth about $30. My husband called them and questioned them about this. Keith tried to explain that the Y tube does have a plastic part, which is the part that cracked. When my husband asked why they are quoting us for so much on a $30 part, he got flustered and upset and said, you know what? Your wife can come back in and get her money back. As a matter of fact I would like her to go somewhere else form now on. Have a blessed day. And that was the end of that conversation. My husband and I then went back to Sparks to get our money back. As I gave him my debit card for the refund, he said, well fix it for free. My husband and I both felt like something wasnt right. Keith then began to thank my husband for confronting him. Keith said that after their call, he got to thinking, and decided to question Tom Woods Subaru about the cost of the item. Keith then stated that Tom Woods was wrong and gave him the wrong price for the item. He apologized for the issue and showed us the real price to be about $450. My husband and I played along even though we knew the real price was $30 just to get out of there. Keith said that he could refund us our money, and that we could bring our car in on Monday to get the car fixed. He said that every day until then, I would have to stop by and get the coolant checked and refilled. I felt that they thought I didnt know how to do that right on my own, which is pretty funny, because I do. My husband and I agreed to not go back, and that I would check my coolant on my own and fill it up as needed. The first trip after that, I made one trip to work (40 minutes), and was discouraged to find that the coolant was very low. I filled it up to full and drove back home. Before I left for work the next day, it was still full. I checked it every day and the coolant level did not go down ONE BIT for a week until I took it to Midas. I told Midas everything that had happened. They checked the coolant pressure and found out that there was NO LEAK at all in the Y tube! They even showed me, and that is when I had my proof that Sparks was trying to steal almost $700 from us! It has been almost 3 months and my coolant level is still at full, and never needed to be refilled. I trusted Keith because I knew he had a daughter, so I assumed he cared about women, but he is very deceiving, and very manipulating. He tries to make you think he is nice and generous, but in real life he only wants to take your money.

🤦all my experiences have been total disasters. I hope its just me. Crazy high prices and prepare to go without a car for at least a month even on simple repairs. I dunno. Mechanic work isnt for some. Ill do my own work from now on. Most definitely Ill do my own breaks and oil changes.

While they are backed up and struggling to keep mechanics at work and my vehicle did take awhile, they had a nice gesture making up for the extra waiting I had to do. Also, could do better on updating customers, but not a major concern.

I brought my car into sparks because, come to find out, we had an issue with my oil pump. It was causing a lot of problems. Sparks was quick to diagnose the issue and to do the work it took to fix it. They were very professional and kind. They had fair prices as well. I would recommend them. Hands down the best car repair shop I had ever been to. Felt so lucky and grateful that I decided to come to Sparks. My sister came to the other car shop and they overcharged her. We are both college students and without Keith willing to work with my budget, I wouldnt be able to drive back from here to Florida to see my family in the summer. Havent seen them in a year! Earlier this week my college student was unable to get her convertible top on her car to close. She took the car to Sparks. They called me with an estimate for repairs of $988 to replace the motor and hydraulics. I believe this price was most likely reasonable given the cost of parts and labor however for an 18 year old car with 200,000 miles on it we opted against the repair. I asked if they could manually close the top and was told it would be $400-$500 in labor costs to do so because they would be completing more than half of the job they quoted me above. I told them I would be in in the morning to pick up the car and to not complete any other service on the vehicle. I then began to research the process of disengaging the motor and hydraulics to close her top myself so we could at least get the car home to Ohio in the now cold weather. The very first video in a YouTube search showed how to manually disengage the top to open and close it. It was no more complicated than opening or closing a garage door with an electric opener when the power is out. I drove 3 hours to pick up the car and had the top shut in minutes without the use of a single tool. I dont know if the people at the shop were trying to take advantage of the situation or unskilled in convertible tops but either way, I am very disappointed in the service/diagnostics we received. I can say that the manual release cords are red and located adjacent to the parts diagnosed as malfunctioning in their estimate. I should add, I would have happily paid for an hour of labor for the shop to manually shut the top as opposed to taking a day off work and driving 6 hours round trip to resolve the issue myself.

We discovered Sparks about 6 months ago and we have had a wonderful experience with them! They fixed up our lemon of a Dodge Caravan and now it runs like new! They have also done an amazing job on our 98 Cherokee which came with its own set of issues. They guarantee all of their work, of it wasnt done right, they will fix it. I was also impressed with the price of their work, they are extremely fair in their labor and parts and have even thrown in some little extras at no extra cost. Our elderly neighbor needed a repair and they first told her it was $3000. She decided to get a second opinion and they quickly change their tune and said it would be 1500 and she wouldn’t need a second opinion. She ended up going. elsewhere and it was fixed inside $200

I had the oil changed in my 2015 Jeep Compass 9/23/16. Its our new baby and I wanted it taken care of. I went in by myself with my kids because my husband was to meet us there later. Keith was so kind to my kids and let them have a snack. He asked me what oil I wanted and I was completely honest with him and told him I had no clue what was best because Im a typical woman and know close to nothing about cars. He said well were going to treat you right and be honest with you here. He really was. I was very impressed to hear him say have a blessed day on the phone and an apology that he had to answer the phone. He honored the coupon I had even though it was for a standard oil change (my car needed synthetic oil). He also told me there are always coupons online and in Great Deals (because he always wants to keep the price I pay for an oil change the same). My husband was also impressed with his kindness when we picked up the car. We wont go anywhere else for an oil change.

Update: My car needed some repairs. I drove 45 minutes to come to this shop because its worth it! I scheduled an appointment online very easily. During my appointment I got my questions answered thoroughly. Great customer service. Was able to work with me on the price of my repairs. Great place!Was able to get an appointment the same day. Keith at the front was very friendly. The waiting area was inviting compared to other places in the area. My oil was changed very quickly, only took about 15 minutes. Great place!! Will be going back!

First experience with Sparks Excellent. Keith was being very straightforward and very knowledgeable about cars and doesn’t try to sugarcoat anything especially when the right strut on my 06 grand caravan was busted out of place then did more damage to the whole front right suspension area than I thought (sway bar steering rack etc) then the left strut having the busted coil spring and on its legs about ready to pop out and do the same damage that tie right one did. After him ordering the parts Needed to get it fixed and his best crew working on it. I was told that I have a life time warranty on the parts and about one year of free labor if return for the same issue. While Keith was explaining that to me that’s when the phones starting to ring with that and a bunch of cars lined up to be serviced or already been serviced I knew then that the van was in the hands of great mechanics and great service with all that being said keep up the excellent service. sparks will be my go to place for maintenance done on the van wether it’s a repair like this one was estimate check or to PM (Preventative Maintenance) done

My 2000 Chevy cavalier battery light came on. I thought I needed my battery changed but come to find out my alternator broke. Had my car towed to Sparks and Keith had let me know that my car alternator and alternator belt need to replace along with a part to control my gear shift needed to be fixed. The amount to get my car fix was a lot especially since I’m a student and I had other bills to pay. Luckily, I had got the money to pick it up and Keith really help me out. He fix everything my car needed. Including giving me a free alternator belt and battery. Change my wind shield wipers for free and did other things to my car with no charge. Plus giving me a free oil change. He really help me out so much. I’m thankful that he did all that for me. This facility services is really great, I will highly recommend this place especially for BSU students.

This is a great place to get your car worked on; the staff is very professional and polite. I originally came in to get my front break pads done, but after the team did a full inspection, it turned out my rotors, and right wheel bearing were in a dangerous condition. Keith was very understanding of my circumstance and was extremely helpful in walking me through everything that was wrong with my Honda Element. They helped me get my car up and running again. I highly suggest Sparks! The service is great and the staff is very accommodating, I am definitely coming back to get future repairs done.

Rarely do I ever have to take my vehicle in somewhere for work, but I can safely say that Sparks is the best garage Ive ever gone to. In 2003, I had this shop replace a bunch of stuff on my 1995 Chevy Corsica to try to get it to stop stalling out on me. They turned out to be a bunch of shysters who unnecessarily replace parts that are working fine.Ran me through almost $1,200 worth of unnecessary repairs, just so I could keep stalling out until I took it to the Chevy dealer and they determined it was the ignition switch. Which ran like $140 at the dealer and the car never stalled out again.Sparks Parts Replacers. At least, this is what they were in 2003. Real old guy named Verne who probably isnt even there now, but watch out in case they try to tell you your car needs a bunch of things it really doesnt.In the end, I learned an important lesson. You have to take your car to a real mechanic. Not some crooked scumbags who will just keep taking your money.

I am so thankful that God brought Sparks into life right when I needed them most! My van needed so many different repairs and Keith gave me a fair rate and incredible service! The biggest impact was from the fact that even though he was really busy, he took the time to check everything and make sure my car was in perfect condition before I took it back so I would be safe and save as much money as possible by getting it all done at once. Sparks is the best!! Not only did my car receive the best repairs, but I also received prompt, honest, and thorough results! My car was towed in on Monday afternoon and I drove out of the lot the very next day with not only a new water pump, but additional repairs as well. My car felt brand new. Also, the staff made me feel at ease by giving me the reassurance of being ready at a moments notice next time an issue arises. Keith got my car in this morning and took care of everything. In addition, he and his staff did an entire trip check since I will be traveling and took care of everything that needed to be done. I came to Sparks for an oil change and the service was outstanding. The staff were all very friendly, and they even offer a student discount for BSU students! 5 stars all around.

Had a really great experience. Despite that it took a while to get my car back from engine repairs, sparks decided to go above and beyond to make sure that it will last me for another long time hence took a little longer. But had such a great experience and the staff was very friendly and went way above and beyond my expectations.

I ended up coming here over other places after they were the only place that I called that were honest with me about the issue I had. Everywhere else was just trying to get me in and out, while Keith and the guys at Sparks were concerned with the quality of their work. They worked very hard to make sure my car came out with as few issues as possible, fixing multiple issues while only charging me for what I agreed to. Great ethics, good job.

We needed extensive engine work done on our 04 Mustang. We brought it into Sparks and asked Keith for an estimate. He did a thorough evaluation of the issues and produced a detailed comprehensive estimate. His estimate contained a Peace of Mind Guarantee. Which basically says if other repairs are needed beyond what’s in the estimate he will do them at no extra change. A couple extra needed items on our repair did come up later. Sparks did cover them at no charge to us. Sparks offers a student discount and a shuttle service for students back to campus. He did a great job on our Mustang. We are very pleased.

They are the most honest and trustworthy mechanics that I have ever been to. My car had a problem with the brake lights, I was expecting a major problem and I had my car checked at Sparks. They looked at it the same day and replace the bulbs without charging anything for the service. I also used their free shuttle service to go to Ball State. I recommend them to anyone. If you live in the Muncie area Sparks will be your fairest price with the friendliest people you have ever met.

I had a problem that I couldnt figure out, took my truck to various mechanics over several months and they all jumped to conclusions without really running tests. As a student I cant keep throwing money at my vehicle until something sticks! These guys made sure they found the exact issue (a dying PCM) and my truck now runs better than it ever has. I am so grateful for their diligence and expertise.

Sparks fixed my car within the two days it was there. The customer service was great. They gave a me a detailed explanation of what was wrong with my car. They also gave me student discount. My car sounds better than when I bought it. I would highly recommend them.
