My family has been coming here for 20 years. Glen and his son Don are very honest and straight forward guys. They have an open shop policy to their customers, and on many occasions allowed me to see what was wrong with my car. I would not trust any other shop with my car care needs. Ive had 6 cars worked on over the years. Their prices are fair and they use high quality parts which they stand behind. On the very few occasions I have had an issue with a repair, they have always been quick to take care of me and stand by their work even offering me a loaner car. There isnt many shops that would go out of their way for customer satisfaction like these guys do. I would highly recommend them.

Ive been here on a few occasions since getting a used car back a few months ago, and theyve always been very helpful as well as reasonable in their prices for work done. They havent tried to push me to get expensive repairs done that are unnecessary, were always willing to help me better understand what was going on with my vehicle, and overall were very professional. Im hoping to return soon to get my air conditioning checked out, and perhaps some other minor repairs done, with the summer heat fully hitting around here! I definitely recommend this place.

Called in for a quote on a CV joint; compression; head gasket; transmission; & any leak test on a vehicle that I am about to purchase… the tests are free, I like that. Spoke to Glen who was very polite. Ill keep you posted and up to date on any other work done at this location! Good luck!

Finding a mechanic you can trust is like finding an honest lawyer, it doesnt happen very often. I was referred to Gary with Protech by my uncle who has taken many cars there through the years. My check engine light came on and my car was running fuel rich. Two different auto repair shops in Salt Lake City told me that I needed to replace my fuel injectors and it was going to be a pretty expensive job. After only a few hours, Gary called to say there was nothing wrong with the O2 sensors or the fuel injectors. He recommended some fuel injector cleaner. I added the cleaner, ran the car for a few miles and the light when off and the car is running like new. Thanks for saving me $400+ Gary, I will be back.

Pro tech is a top notch mechanic shop!! I have an electrical contracting company and I cant afford to have my vans down for any amount of time. I had Protech repair one of my vans and they borrowed me a loaner van so my technition was able to work, and had my repairs completed in 1 day!!! Ive been going here for over 5 years and I couldnt be happier. I thought about leaving SLC and was sad at the thought I would have to find another mechanic that I like as much as Pro Tech. They are fair, honest, and do great work, couldnt recommend them more.

Had my Subaru CV joint replaced there, they did the job quickly and were honest and upfront with me about cost and downtime and did better on both. Although the part failed (which can hardly be blamed on the mechanic) they replaced it quickly with a new one and changed out other parts that the failed part may have damaged included with the repair. They know their stuff and just want to be good mechanics and thats exactly what I was looking for. 4 stars because the rental car, though adequate, was pretty rough around the edges to say the least and it was empty when i got it. Frankly, its more a half star demerit. I trust these guys with my cars.UPDATE: on my 4th visit for the same CV joint problem I had a bearing noise develop, I was told it was just the noise Subarus make when when they get old and to not worry about it. I took to a dealer and they diagnosed it as a worn out bearing in the transfer case caused by running the transmission on low gear oil. Apparently the CV joint had popped the seal (3rd time) and all my oil had leaked out. Long story short, the 3rd party CV joint is garbage and having it put on may have ruined my transmission. The people at protech seem willing to correct the situation, but at this point its fair to say that I no longer have a great deal of confidence. I will update on the progress of this situation. I have Zero confidence in the manufacture they use for the CV joint, so if you do end up having CV work done here INSIST on a subaru part like I should have.

Very affordable and honest people. I will only take my Subaru to these guys!
