They had nothing in the store. There was only about 10 stuffed animals to pick from and no accessories to pick from. The worker said shipments come in on Friday its Monday. If thats the case you should be planning better so it doesnt cost you sales. All 3 of my children love build a bear and i have never been in a store thats this empty unless there closing/moving locations.
I thought we went here to get an experience for the kids?? I guess that was not the deal we got when coming here... it was a sad experience overall! Next day my childs bears stitching came out.. Pick a better location because the staff here did not seem happy or care genuinely....
I took my son to get a Nightmare Before Christmas build a bear. We got there with 25 minutes before closing time. They had their doors locked and wouldn’t let us in. I told them we just drove 45 minutes to get there, (it was the sole reason we went to the mall) and asked if they would please let us in, and they still refused. We were there with time to make a bear. We knew exactly which one we wanted and it wasn’t like we were going to be spending a ton of time deciding. Their max occupancy is 20 people and there were 12 in there including employees. There were people checking out, and the rest was one family already getting their bears made. Closing time is not until 6, and these hours need to be honored if that is what is posted. Awful service and I am very disappointed.
The staff here are all around amazing! Theyre kind, personable, knowledgeable and also very over worked. These gals need some help (I saw you are hiring so youre trying!) and a raise!
Super minimal selection of animals and accessories. The gals who were working were very nice and cheerful! The actual bear making experience was great!Unfortunately, left kinda bummed we couldnt even get a basic t-shirt or shoes :/ they had such minimal stock they had Christmas and easter accessories on the rack... Sad.
Imagine dishing out 20-30$ per bear that you can get at Walmart for maybe 8$ Just for the “experience” that your kids will have. Yet the employee sits there plain face looks miserable and can’t even acknowledge the kids. Horrible when a 4 year old has to ask why the girl was so rude.
The staff is excellent and friendly here, and was even willing to perform the life-giving ritual with my 30-year-old girlfriend. She had a heck of a time, and left just beaming with happiness.
My kids are from Mexico and they have nothing like this there. It was a great experience for them. The people there were great and gave my children a wonderful experience. They did seem a little under staffed.
No notice that the store closed down due to Covid outbreak. We paid for an item and were to pick it up on Saturday. There is a sign on the door stating the store was temporarily closed. No contact number, no call to customers who paid in advance for a stuffed animal.Very unprofessional and lousy business practice.
Good customer service but had a very limited selection
Closed early at 4:45 due to short staff. This is the 2nd time its happened to us when weve tried to come.
They have updated their policy for covid. Instead of only 10 people in the store they are asking everyone to maintain a 6 ft distance between parties. They tried to keep everyone to this as much as they could which I appreciated. People just seem to have a hard time remembering. It made the line much faster and that was awesome. Makes me hopeful for things returning to normal!
The ladies that were working were fantastic and full of energy!! They really made it such a fun experience for my daughters birthday
Closes store during hours without leaving any sign or notice of being closed even though their hours ON their doors say open
Had an issue with a BAB online order. Rather than helping to resolve it, I was told the store and online are separate. Rethinking all the money Ive spent at Build-a-Bear Workshop over the years!
I love build a bear workshop my favorite store in the world
Didnt have that much of a selection too choose from. Order online would be your best option if looking for a specific one. Employees were fun with kids and friendly.
Worst customer service Ive ever witnessed would not recommend to anyone
The product is good, the wait was way to long. I spent 2 hours standing in a line with 15 ish people in front of me, just to wait another 30 to check out
Barely any clothes selection at this location. Not as fun.
First time ever and I was overcome by Joy I dont know why its a magical little shop
Staff was very friendly and helpful. They made my granddaughter comfortable and created a very positive experience for her.
I called to verify the hours. The recording told me they were open until 6. I got there and there is a sign saying they are temporarily closed. What a waste of time?
Wow, we went here on a early Friday afternoon and apparently so did everyone else, mainly adults and older jr. high and high schoolers. The line was long and wasnt moving, they were out of a few of the more colorful bears. We and our granddaughter didnt feel like waiting, so we left, maybe next time
Love the magic of Building stuffed friends! Great staff helps to make it fun !! Really really love this place!!
Super busy yet great customer service, they care about the customers and go out of their way to help
Covid has totally ruined the experience going here. It has turned me off to ever wanted to go again. Only allowing 10 people in the store at a time saying it’s the law when other stores allow way more than that. We waited an hour in line to get in when there were only three households ahead of us. The entire time we waited, half the store was completely empty and half the employees weren’t doing anything. People waiting in line would give up and leave because it was so ridiculous. 10 people can easily be two, even one, household in Utah. They should divide it up in sections for households rather than by the number of people. One household choosing a bear, one getting stuffed, one at clothes, etc. It is very mismanaged and inefficient right now.
The experience I had with my kids before everything closed was good. Picking out the stuff animal they wanted and get it stuff was great. Be able to help stuff the animal was the part my kids liked a lot. Taking a star away is because on days there are sales or on weekends there is a crazy long line. I have waited 40 mins on a Sunday and with only 2 or 3 employees working. Otherwise if you need to see what stores are open go to their website for location and it will show you what time they are open or closed.
The employees here are out of this world enthusiastic. They do a great job. The store is crazy expensive but you have to expect that going into it. Its definitely worth it at least once but not a good value if you build something as a gift. If you do that, youre depriving the recipient of the experience itself. Great for kids under 7-8. My four year old adored it. My ten year old said meh. In all, we spent $75 on a pony with shoes, skates and a string backpack.
Very wonderful experience, the plush we wanted was sold out but we were able to buy the display copy, and was even able to add more stuffing and a sound to it. Everyone was super nice and they were taking good precautions with social distancing and masks.
This was mine and my childrens first time at build a bear and it was my daughters birthday so I wanted to get my kids something fun and experience something new... The lady who put the filing in the bear was named Sandy and she didnt talk to me or my kids much at all.. I explained to her this was our first time and she did an eye roll and mumbled cool. It was just the weirdest most awkward experience.. then she handed us the animals not knowing I had to tie them up myself and a heart for each kid to hold on to.. ànd as I was looking around other associates were just talking and goofing off amongst themselves... Definitely wont be doing this again.
Customer service was great! They were very safe keeping everybody distanced and limiting access. The price was a little steep as expected.
No selection of any stuffed animal really. Also baby yoda should be lower in price hes been out for a while now
So much fun for kids of all ages! Amazing, helpful staff! And adorable furry friends
The employees are so friendly and very helpful. I recommend this location.
Terrible. Received an email stating a specific toy was on a sale for $8. Email clearly said on top sale 2/4 - 2/8. In the fine print somewhere on the bottom the email says the sale changes everyday and the toy my daughter wanted was yesterdays sale. Couldnt afford the $29 full price since we are still recovering from the government shutdown. Left in tears. No toy for my little girl.
Very disappointed in my sons experience he had here. No interaction with my son the worker didnt even talk to us and theyre was not a selection to pick from.
We has great experience here today with my 3 year old. They had some good deals with the holidays being here. My daughter picked out a Frozen 2 bear and dressed it up in Frozen character clothes. They employees here are great with the kids and make every bear seem so special for the little ones making them. It does get really pricey when you start dressing them and adding accessories but the kids will love it and feel like the Bear is part of the family once you leave the store
So I can only give this location 3 stars. One of the workers was very friendly, she filled the bears. The second checked us out. She wasnt as friendly. When asked about birth certificates I was told they didnt have any and wouldnt for a while. I could come back or drive to another store. I live 200 miles away, thats not an option. The birth certificates are part of the experience. Its like going to McDonalds and not getting a coke with your cheeseburger. Lol
We had a great time building our covid comfort animals. Thank you to the full staff making this memorable for my twins and grandson.
Was disappointed that they didnt really have a good selection. My wife wanted to surprise me with a bear, but the selection was limited & the clothes selection was pretty light. Maybe it has something to do with this winter weather were having.
Staff is always helpful and nice. Great place to go with kids
We used to love to come here but covid ruined it. The line is rediculois and the staff are not that efficient or nice. Not going to this location again!
Build-A-Bear is such a fun store and EXPERIENCE to go to for children AND adults! Build-A-Bear just recently started a birthday program where kids can buy a bear for the amount of how old their are turning. (A child turning 4, would purchase a birthday bear for $4) I do wish they would let you pick any stuffed animal for the birthday reward, but its still a great program. The gals working here have always been so kind and helpful. They all have worked great with children and had all the patience in the world.
Its a cool idea but very expensive we got a paw patrol dog with am outfit and it cost ove 60$
We were able to easily get the accessories for an already stuffed bear. The cashier was extremely helpful. We loved the clearance items-great prices !!! Checking our gift card balances was a breeze! Using one was even easier!
GreT place is bulid a bear
Covid has destroyed this place for me. Waited an hour and a half to get in... Finally gave up and went home.
Horrible customer service we go to the one in Orem all the time they have always made it fun for the children. But the employee sandy at this location was extremely rude and did not make it fun for our child at all. Our other kids told our best how fun it was to go to build an ear and she has looked forward to it for a while now.She was injured and was at the ER so we thought since we were down her with her we would take her. She was very disappointed and said she did not even want it anymore because it was not the same as what her brother and sisters told her.
I love this place this is the second time my granddaughter has went she loves it
The Kids Loved the employees who helped them a great experience for the kids and their families
My dad bought a bear from the Farmington station and if course bought all of the extras. I went in to this one, which is closest to our house, and I guess they had tagged stuff on the tag to make it easy to figure out what was needed to complete the doll and experience, but I guess from store to store its not super simple to finish the experience. I had to explain what I needed and still had to figure out/remember everything my dad had said so I could figure out the birthday present for my little one.Good atmosphere, pleasant busy workers.PS if you buy the recorder you can do yourself its not a very long recording and if your child presses it a ton of times in a row you have to let it wait a while in order for the recording to play through the whole thing again. Otherwise it only plays part, the more it gets pressed the less itll play through.
Meg was absolutely amazing. I took my sisters here for their 7th birthday and Meg immediately made them feel welcomed/special on their big day. From start to finish she took care of us while being so sweet. At checkout their birthdays were announced and they couldn’t feel any happier. Don’t walk into build a bear thinking you won’t spend the money, the smile on the kids face makes it all worth it! Would highly recommend this location.
Great place to bring a kid and have them build a bear or another type of stuffed friend. Its nice they keep switching the animals and friends out with limited editions and the variety is always changing. The process to Male one is fun for kids and makes them love it even more. A bit on the pricey side though.
Made my first bear! Was an interesting experience. Perfect timing on a sale for star wars bears. I can see why the wife and kids have fun with it. Staff was helpful and fun, making the experience a great one.
Love the quality of there little friends. The scents pack is great. They last really long time. The opportunity to bring your friend to life is so fun. Only problem I have had is some times there is a rush and end up in a long line but it has always been worth the wait.
Such a magical place for kids! They do a great job making you feel special. Such a wonderful place with quality products and a big variety to choose from.
I just received terrible customer service from the call center/online order team. I do not recommend anybody try to deal with them. I got wrong information, was hung up on, still haven’t been contact with a confirmation to make sure my order (which is a gift) will be okay! I am shocked and appalled. Look elsewhere for a heartfelt gift. This company simply does not care.
My first time in a Build A Bear today. Great selection, & a big shout out to Brooke! She went above & beyond to fix my daughters dog when it had an issue.
I visited this location to pick up a new outfit for a horse my daughter made on a previous visit (at a different location). The difference was striking. There were a couple of friendly employees, but the majority of them were more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. At one point, I asked about a mermaid tail that was on a display bear but did not see available anywhere else in the store. The employee said it was the last one and that they would remove and sell it to me. I asked the price and she walked away saying they would need to look it up, but she never got back to me about it.As we were shopping for a horse, not all outfits fit very well. I was told that the my little pony capes would be a great option, but not where to find them. The store was busy as there was a large birthday party going on so it took me several minutes to find them myself. When we were checking out, one of the cashiers caught my eye as the customer they were helping left. Naturally, I walked up to them as I was next in line, but was told she was ringing up the birthday party. She then stood there watching customers and didnt look like she was doing much of anything. My daughter left happy with her find (she settled on fluttershys cape), but the overall experience was lacking.
The ladies there were patient and kind with my two little ones. They took a lot of time work us getting two new plushies plus fixing two of my daughters old ones, too. Thanks!
We drove all the way down here on my daughters birthday and they are closed! I called ahead and their message says they are open. Lots of tears from my 5 year old. It’s hard enough to have a birthday now, even more so when the one thing you think you can do ends up being closed too!
Listen in and let me tell you about the magical experience I am having after waiting an hour and fifteen minutes in line to get my bear stuffed! Upon arrival two minutes after opening we discovered the store filled with happy children. We selected our two animals and wished that the online options were in store. At this time we discovered the evil secret of the build a bear workshop. There is a self inflicted bottleneck at the stuffing machine. There are two employees but apparently only one can stuff at a time! Oh no! What kind of horrible policy is this? Can an employee not stuff a bear and then check out a customer? Is there some kind of policy where an employee has to “manage the line?” One employee straightened the store while the other stuffs bears. This is ridiculous. I understand staffing is hard, but there is a more efficient way to run when missing an employee. Apparently at build a bear, “Friendship is furever” in reality “Friendship is furcking ridiculous!”
Build a bear, yes you pick out the body, stuff it with cotton and even make a wish on a heart thing and stuff it inside the bear. After that you wash the bear and give the bear their own birth certificate. Its really exciting for kids, the staff always know how to approach the children and make each bear and child feel super special.
Sweet girls at the register. But they were slow as molasses. And the register one of them was broken. This was during Christmas the busiest season. The store was packed. I waited in line for 20 minutes.
Love build a bear
Overall a great experience with my girls. The only reasons I cannot give them five stars is because the line was really long and one of the employees didnt sew up the stuffed animals as well as the other employees. My little girls was a bit upset and we had to have the bear re-sewn. A part from this, it was a great experience.
Me and my friends just strait up were vibing with the employees
Fun despite long lines due to covid and holidays workers were very friendly
I always get my dog build a bears, and today was his birthday. Taylor and Taylor were very helpful and they let him pick out whatever he wanted. I will definitely be back next year for his birthday
I entered the store with 3 people in front of me. That was 2 hours ago and the line miraculously got longer. I have watched a total of 2 people walk through the register so far and again, the line has not moved.Seriously, just pre-fill the bears and save us all the headache. I know it’s part of the experience but I did this years ago and felt the same way! Nothing has changed since I did this with my girls and nothing has improved for my grandkids. Do a survey and make improvements! I can’t be the only one who feels this way, yikes!
Love
A little less engaging with the customers than I expected (a prior employee a few years ago) but otherwise a pleasant experience. Very clean, well stocked and my kids enjoyed their new stuffed friends.
The wait was a bit much, there were only two employees and 15 people in line. Took about an hour. There is one girl who is always very nice and sweet, I wish I could remember her name. She does a fantastic job and is very good at her job.
We came and bought a monkey for our son, We had a great time! We went all out and got a voice box and heart beat. We also dressed him in a cowboy hat and boots! The cost was $80 which is a lot although Its ok it’s a special toy with our voices in it. Thanks to all the ladies working in the shop helping us out! Very friendly and helpful! Everyone should build a bear !
Their call centerStore directoryAnd automated messagesAll say they are open.Only when you get to the store do you find out that they are completely closed.
Went in on Saturday afternoon (12/16/16) with the kids and it was a very long line to get in (and there was a very long line to purchase the bears. Kids were at there end due to being out all day shopping. So I went in to see what time they opened tomorrow (Sunday) and the young girl I asked at the registers (I think her name was Brianna) did not know so she asked the other lady that was there (I think her name was Dianna) who did not say it rudely but did not say it nicely either i dont know. So I left irritated that I could not be told when a store was going to open the next day. One star loss.Went back on Sunday a little after 9am thinking that they would be opened. Nope. after some looking found out that they did not open until 11am. so I left and came back and saw both the same two employees there again that could not tell me when they opened the next day. so I was not happy when I saw that. When I got to paying they tried selling me the $10 gift card for $5. I said no thank you. when I was done paying the cashier handed me a coupon for $10 off. I asked nicely if I paid for it and she rudely said no it is a coupon One star loss for this visit. From what I was able to see families with kids got treated better than a adult in there alone. Not sure if I will visit here again due to the way I was treated and had to make another trip back to this store cause the employees can not tell a customer when a store opens the very next day.
I like to bring my 5 year daughter here once a year, while her brother and daddy are camping. After we picked out her bear. She was browsing the voices and an employee headed over to start assisting. Once she picked out what she wanted. The employee (with blonde hair) sat down with her bear. Started stuffing...NO interaction to make her yearly visit a special one. However she did have her do the make a wish heart part. The other employee a petite gal. Was also stuffing bears next to us, she does such a great job. I really like her. Weve seen her there before. Shes one that makes sure every child feels special, even when theres a huge line.I didnt care for this years visit at all!! Its way over priced, but I was already aware of that. I dont mind paying once a year. But were also paying for the special experience, which was very disappointing tonight. They really need to work on training some of their employees.
My daughter loved it (age 7). The girls working werent very helpful for us being first time customers and the only people in the store at the time, they were nice though. It cost about $85 after all the add ons and clothes (heart beat, puppy noises, outfit, shoes, hair bow, dog carrier bag) We will probably come back again.
This was an experience! We took our daughter here for her birthday and the staff was amazing! They were so passionate about what they did that my daughter left feeling so special! Great job staff!
I made sure to call ahead because of covid and it says that they are open during normal business hours for Fashion Place Mall, well theyre not! So I drove all the way there for nothing and my poor little boy was heart broken! Its so rude and so annoying when companies say theyre open and theyre not! Or they just dont bother to update their information to reflect they are temporarily closed!!
Cool idea, to make buying a teddy bear or similar plush toy a magical experience. Kids loved it. Kind of pricy (scents, sounds, and clothing are all extra, beyond the plush carcass itself), and the line to get the animal stuffed was slower than molasses in a Minnesota winter--seriously, getting through the line took at least 30 minutes. Slogan could be Happy kids, stressed parents.
Took my daughter to this Build-A-Bear with my mother. The place was fairly busy, but was a Saturday and a birthday party was there as well. Despite the wait for the cotton stuffing part, it was WAY worth it. The employees were very friendly and were entertaining the kids that were waiting in line, asking them questions about the bear they had chosen, what they were going to dress it in, and if they had any questions. Once it was our turn with the employee at the stuffing machine, he did an amazing job at interacting with my daughter as well.So despite the wait on a completely understandable Saturday afternoon, it was more than worth it. Weve visited this store a few times and have never been disappointed. The employees really make the place.
On my birthday (July 12), they made my two little girls cry with that lame stuffed animal pay your age promo. Making my daughters cry because they couldnt get a stuffed animal with Daddy is a good way to alienate me as a customer.Previous to that, we had been twice and had a good time. My girls still have and play with their paw patrol animals. As long as build a bear didnt ruin your birthday like it did to me, you will probably have a fun time going.
Line out the door, they only staffed one person making bears. We have waited an hour and half and only part way down line. Horrible staffing for busy time of year. I would avoid and go somewhere better staffed. Horrible management.
This is a fun place. The staff are nice and helpful. The prices are more expensive than online.
Fun store for children of all ages. Here you can create that special stuffed friend for yourself or someone special. Created with love by you. Also lots of clothes and accessories to add just the right touch for your special stuffed friend.
Sometimes you can be there for hours waiting in line just to stuff an animal. They have stuff for boys and girls. They are cute and they have a bunch of fun accessories, but by the time you leave youll have a big dent in your wallet.
Fun place to go to
Brought my niece here and we both left with smiles. I spent around $75 on 2 animals with a couple of the accessories (sound on both, scent for both, heartbeat on one), a drawstring backpack and a hat for one of the bears. Everyone was happy to help and she had so much fun. Its an expensive activity for sure but its a perfect to celebrate a birthday.
Wonderful place. Be so much fun to work there
Really coolWorkers where very friendly and helpful
Wanted to use the $15 vouchers for my kids. Called to make sure I could get one for each since I had my husband and mom create account for them. Was told I could, but would have to do 3 separate transactions. Cool! Dont want to take 3 kids in without getting them. Got through to checkout and was treated like a liar, and told i could only get 1. I cant get one and not for the other 2....disappointed. They should have told me on the phone, and I would have waited till the weekend. Needless to say, Ill buy from Amazon next time.
