Love this place! No Im not a fisherman, but it was still awesome to walk onto it and see nothing but ocean as far as your eye would allow. It costs $3 per person and if you want to go on it from being on the beach, you can be in your bathing suit, but you must have shoes on. No shoes=no entry. No dogs are allowed
I have lived here for many years. Springmaid Pier has been through it all. Hurricanes, Kings tide, late nite fun and fishing. Sharks and rip tides, fun and danger.Attached please find a few pics the I have taken. At the pier, you get to sit at the edge of the Atlantic ocean. It costs 2 or 3 dollars but take the time to sit at the edge of the Ocean There are after a hurricane pics as well .Just added two sunrise pics. Please look at the beach and go to the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and find peace in yourself.
Loved this Pier! caught alot of fish, very clean, beautiful views, and just a nice place to bring the family. You can also bring a cooler if you and family would like to have a picnic. Very friendly and helpful staff working inside, the lady working was so nice and helpful explaining what all we could do with fishing and times. The price is great! pay for pole and pier entry, but you can leave and come back all the way up till 10 pm. Definitely will visit again next summer!
This pier never disappoints me. I do not go to fish, however while walking out over the ocean, it is exciting when I witness someone elses catch. Also, its even more thrilling when a shark swims up where people can see it!!
I loved this pier and being able to walk out, see the ocean and the many people fishing
Nice fishing pier. Wasnt too crowded as we went in the evening. Very nice and friendly staff. Will visit again.
Im a local and while it isnt cheap to fish off their pier Ive found its reasonable. Cherry Grove charges $12 to park, $12 per pile to fish, and only had half a pie rd due to storm damage. Nice people at Sprungmaid too!
Do not recommend fishing here. Rules do not apply to the season pass holders. Was there last few nights. The so call Legend and his friends had multiple fishing rods 4-5 lines each in the water. When your only allowed 2 rods and they took up over 10 benches for themselves. Claiming they were trying to catch reds but using shark rigs. If it was any other peir they would have been kicked off. Not a fun experience when you bring your family to fish and you cant when guys like this ruin it. Thanks Springmaid.
If I could have given 0 stars, I would! Absolutely was terrible and very rude! The pier itself was wonderful and the view was unbeatable but not the lady who worked there.Im from NY and I thought weve gotten used to hospitality in the South until witnessed the staff threatened a girl who just sat there. No matter what the reason was you could never treat your customers like that. I Will Not come back to the pier or the hotel ever. Spend more time on staff training and do better customers service!
$3 for an all-day pass to walk on the pier, dozens of people fishing catching all kinds of fish sharks little stuff and a couple of keepers. It was newly redone, rebuilt. Nice place to watch the sunset.
Super pretty! And the park rangers where so nice and very helpful with my questions about the nature preserve
Doubletree must be trying to pay off the pier in one year charging $3 per person to just walk on the pier. It used to not cost anything to use the rest rooms by the gift shop but now you have to pay the money. In Europe, they typically charge 1 Euro, which is about $1.25 to use the restroom and I would be happy to pay that to use the restrooms.
I came fishing today. One of my rods caught fish, and the other rod was bitten by the fish. My daughter helped me hold it. This is an old lady who rushed out behind me, shouting that my daughter did not buy a fishing ticket. And asked my daughter to leave immediately and call the security guard if she doesnt leave. what a surprise. I bought your annual tickets. Are you so rude? Nice job...old lady………
This is a very sturdy pier and was nice to walk out on. Cost us $3 a person, but youre allowed all-day access (until they close of course) to the pier with the wristband they give you at checkout. Seemed like a pretty nice spot to fish from, too. Would have given 5 stars but there is a lack of pier merchandise in the gift shop. Mainly home decor without any MB label.
Ive enjoyed this pier for over 20 years. Glad to see the new rebuild and reconnect with old friends.
AVOID this place!!!! I am still in complete shock as of now. The lady at the shop was so rude.. saw her yelling at a young asian couple all of a sudden for no reason and threatening to call security to get them off the bridge. This is such a horrifying scene.. It scared my little one and she got really upset that night .. what a great way to start our weekend.. will definitely not come back to this pier.. I hope the hotel management can see my post and take this serious! I
Fun place to pier fish and lots of friendly people fishing . Locals were eager to help and offered advice on fishing better. I will definitely fish here again. Also caught 4 croakers and 8 baby sharks and even saw a young lady catch a 3 foot long hammerhead shark. Lots of enjoyment here.
Will be my pier now for fishing. Rebuilt n opened last year, its really nice. Deep water at low tide, big dredged out areas at the end during beach rebuilding.
The bar is very nice, you have to pay to walk the pier
Beautiful view from the pier. There was lots of activities with fisher people catching things and plenty of chairs to sit and watch the sunset and the ocean.
Staff was helpful. No luck with the fishing but was relaxing. Was well lite at night.
Top self place, bottom self worker. She Kept getting our room number wrong so we could go out on the pier, then when a member of our group came off the pier to show her the key card, she turn into a complete smart a**. I haven’t seen her be friendly to anyone in the two days we been here
Great fishing spot. The little gift shop has some different stuff. The little restaurant on the pier has really good flounder and shrimp platter. Their drinks look killer aswell. Friendly and fast service.
This is the nicest & cleanest pier I have been on!! It is $3.00 to walk on, but it was well worth it!! Young lady in pier/gift shop was friendly and helpful!!
This is a very nice pier, well maintained with on-site eating options.
Nice Pier. Fishing allowed. Plenty of seating. Views of Myrtle Beach. Not free. $3 walking pass good all day. Souvenir shop plus bar and Grille at the base. Has dining area on Pier at the base.
My father at 87 years old, had never seen the ocean, so it was a beautiful blessing.
Nice breeze people friendly and you can find your peace there.
First visit since the rebuild....great structure and really enjoyed our time there. Excellent experience with the staff in the gift shop.
Nice place to just go for a walk but one cannot forget the smell at the end of the pier. Donot miss the store at the beginning of the pier.
The pier is beautiful ❤️ we locals have missed it very much!
Would not allow us on the pier because my husband was in a recumbent tricycle, which he uses for mobility. The woman in the shop was rude and called security to ensure we left. We were there this past September to go fishing from the pier for my husbands birthday and were allowed on the pier with his trike and had a perfectly lovely day. Today was a different story-- we wont be back!
The ocean is gorgeous, the pier is in a great location. We got to watch a man reel in a small shark under the pier.
The new pier is amazing and well constructed...glad to see the rebuild so professionally rebuilt!!!
Pricing is inconsistent. One day its free to walk, other days are $5.
Beautiful and very clean. Go around 8pm and you might see sharks feeding on small fish.
Great people at the counter when we went, you can rent fishing rods if you need them,I would suggest this peir over the others in the area
Cool view but thats about it, unless you got a pole.
It definitely is new but the incline is a little too much for my friend for we wanted to see it all. And to charge 3.00 per person is really too much if you dont get the chance to see it all day. Should be a local discount posted somewhere. Want be back thats for sure.
Love the gift shop. Nice people that work there. Great merchandise. The pier is great.
Very good
What a BEAUTIFUL Pier...So Quiet and Peaceful you can literally fall asleep lol...ALWAYS FRIENDLY PEOPLE AROUND...ITS WORTH THE 3 BUCKS!!
Had a blast here with my son will definitely be back nice place only wish the pier stayed open later so you could fish late
Great fishing and very nice employees.
Enjoyed walking on the rebuilt Pier. Was beautiful view.
Had to pay to go on the Pier. But nice access to the beach.
Online its say $6 to fish but when u get here its $12
Since the updated I say this is one of the best piers on the beach. Customer service needs a small working, I didnt personally had interaction, but seen how they did with others when they was only accepting cash for that day.
I fished the old pier for many years it was my favorite in Myrtle. The new pier is really nice. It is different. Its not as wide and there is no shade. On the plus side: there are plenty of benches and sinks, the pilings are concrete. I think, they did a great job with the construction. I have not gotten snagged at all. They did a good job removing the debris from the old pier.I would give it 5 stars if they sold ice and blood worms!
Great food and everything you need to go fishing dont have a rod and reel no problem rent it
Nice view of the shore line.
Was clean extremely nice ppl and had a blast
Nice spacious pier.
It was a pretty beach. The pier restaurant was pricey but the crab cake sandwich was worth it.
Enjoy to see the sunset here!
Great place to take a stroll and or cast a line.
Great friendly staff and around great fishing pier.
Beautiful and watch others fish. I got to see the jelly fish!
Awesome view. Enjoyed early morning visit and late evening view. Only had to pay once! Staff at the pier was very kind and welcoming
So glad they rebuilt the pier. I wish they had ice cream vendors though. I think they used to. Three dollars to enter.
