Service is my number one observation when going to a new place. General Store would have received 5 stars if it werent for the staff. They have a large quantity of staff running orders but coffee/drink maintenance doesnt seem to be any one persons job/priority - it should be as I ran out of coffee halfway through my breakfast. The eggs and French toast were awesome. The coffee was a medium blend which was good. Bacon was okay but my serving was like 1.5 slices. Once the food was delivered with a very polite bearded young man, I pretty much was abandoned. As it seemed many of us outdoor folks were forgotten as a large 15 person group was priority #1.Management needs to refocus their wait staff.

Great breakfast spot. My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on our last day in Napa. The store itself has a lot of cute home decor and some pet toys. I had the corn pancake platter. The 2 pancakes were nice and fluffy and I couldnt finish them it was a lot. The egg were well prepare and the potatoes were well seasoned. MY husband had the huevos rancheros. It was a interesting interpretation of the dish. It was stacked instead of placed separately on the plate. He did say it was spicy and well seasoned but he would have preferred less beans. At one point he only got a big scoop of beans. Maybe a sauce on the side would have helped. I also had a tea which made me very happy because it was a dome bag tea not a cheap tea bag. My husband got a Coffee and he said it was fresh and tasty.

Perfect day, perfect place to sit outside and have some lunch. I had a salad with pork, vermicelli, peanuts and other stuff. Very good. My husband had a turkey sandwich.The restaurant have sitting inside and outside. Great location facing the Napa river.Highly recommend!

Nice atmosphere. Outside or inside dining, more wait time for outside. Friendly servers. Went in for breakfast, delicious eggs with goat cheese. Small gift shop too.

We LOVED the general store! Be sure to get the corn meal pancakes! They were perfect! The service was fast and the coffee hot!The menu had tons of options and really loved this little spot.

I visited during the summer and enjoyed an awesome brunch in the patio area. The scenery is calm and colorful. The flowers and shrubs added a touch of privacy and seclusion. The service was good and the food was flavorful and filling. The Napa General Store offers so much more than a dining experience which makes this one of my go to places. This is a great place to eat, shop, journal, and read. Restrooms are easily accessible. There is plenty of parking. Main floor entry (no stairs, this was important since I brought my mother and she just recovered from knee surgery...GO MOM). Plan a visit and cherish the memories 💙

Had breakfast here to start our day of wine tasting. They were open early and we made reservations, but probably didn’t need to. We had French toast and eggs, both of which were very good. The serving staff was friendly and attentive.

We had made arrangements to sit in a picticular area, the (Im not sure who she was) was very snippy. Did not listen to us at all, shes telling us one thing and the waitresses where doing something else. She came up to us, then says she should be at the counter, which we were on our way to conduct our business with her.So we finally get seated, they take our orders. We receive our food, but no flatware to eat with. It was a breezy day, so cold food all around.The food was good, but the way we were treated left a sour taste in our mouths. Disappointed!

Very nice place to eat breakfast or lunch while Im downtown Napa. It is riverfront, so we sat on the patio and felt the cool river breeze while we are. The iced tea was fresh, and my wife really enjoyed her flatbread with salmon and arugula. I had the California grilled chicken sandwich which was very good, the aoli sauce really topped off the sandwich. The fries were good, especially with the Grey Poupon they had available with it. Nice and fun shop and what appeared to be a wood fired pizza oven. Great experience.

Far and away one of the best breakfast places Ive ever been to! Cant wait to go back. The food was properly portioned, ABSOLUTELY delicious, and unique. The inside area has a cute store (hence the general store) where you can shop around a bit, as well as a separate area for patrons who are eating. The outside seating is really fantastic though, with a view of the river and just right outside downtown Napa so its an easy walk in. The price for what you get is really reasonable here, and we enjoyed our meals thoroughly. I would definitely, definitely urge you to visit this place if youre coming to Napa and want a great breakfast!

A long wait list but the staff moved along pretty quickly. Our waitress was friendly and attentive both of our breakfasts were good size cooked as ordered and delicious, we sat outside by the river great day.

Pretty standard but tasty breakfast place with toasts, flat breads etc. Plus it has a great patio with a view on the river and mountains. Coffee is very concentrated, so better to take latte but not a cappuccino.

My friends and I had lovely brunch on a Thursday here. We had mimosas and a great goat cheese pizza. Our server was attentive and sweet. She even split our check 4 ways!Beautiful Drew was especially instrumental in capturing a photo of our crew in front of their iconic mosaic fountain. Would love to go back some day soon!

The food, setting, and service was nice!The only issue I had was on the menu. One breakfast option was titled Fieldhands Breakfast. Definitely many other names to choose. Not a ultra-sensitive dude, but many will find this offensive.Thank you and God bless 🙏🏽✝️

Lovely location in Napa, close to Main Street and on the side of a river. The general store is part of the restaurant and immediately sets the tone for a casual dining experience. We unfortunately did not have the most attentive waitress and the vegetable rolls I ordered were so burnt that there were no recognizable vegetables left in it. The other menu items were more than acceptable and altogether made for a pleasant lunch.

Wonderful environment. Napa General Store is very small but has a great variety of gifts, cards, clothing, jewelry and ofcourse all things wine! It is located in the middle of the walk, it is difficult to spot from traffic so its better to park and walk.

Dined on the back patio surrounded by beautiful bush hydrangeas. Lovely atmosphere w a bit of on site shopping and ample free parking (on a wednesday). Food was good and service was just right.

My only complaint was I couldnt see the water, If the tables were the ones that were higher, we could see the Napa river. Our party enjoyed burgers and salads. Eat here if you want something light to eat.

We wanted to dine at Napa General Store several times in the past, but could never go when the opportunity arose. Today we made it and absolutely loved everything about our dining experience. We will definitely return.

Absolutely delicious food, and we loved the Yelp check-in perk of a free mimosa at brunch! The service was friendly and efficient, and the patio dining area was dotted with large umbrellas that gave some protection from the excessive heat and sun that day.Smoke from the awful Glass Fire was in evidence outside that day, but given the option of indoor/outdoor dining in this era of Covid, we chose the latter.I would have loved to give this restaurant the four stars it really deserves based on the above, but cant for just one reason. Since Covid has us nervous about indoor dining, we felt that chancing it that day to avoid the smoke would be too risky. There seemed to be too many diners and the tables were placed too close for our comfort under the circumstances. I dont have picture proof of this and it may just be my own paranoia after months of my restaurant experience being takeout-only. but that was my impression from walking through on our way out to the patio and back when leaving.Still, its reassuring that the hostess asked for our contact info when we got there for the purposes of contact tracing. I think the restaurant is doing a good job of ensuring safety and cleanliness for its customers and staff.We will definitely visit again on our next jaunt through Napa. I hope were all able to support this area with renewed patronage after the fire danger is conquered and the recovery starts again.

Super tasty the chicken and waffles are legendary and super well seasoned. The food my friends got were good as well. Definitely worth stopping by just have some money set aside as its a bit expensive

This is a nice little store. It has great gifts to send back to friends and family. Later in the evening its a restaurant but thats not till around 4 or 5 PM. It has super nice restrooms but they require a passcode. They have the code posted on the wall around the corner.

What a beautiful place! Being on a severely restricted diet, I was able to still enjoy a breakfast with my girlfriends! Since I cant eat dairy, eggs, gluten, or meat I was limited in menu options, but not to worry!! I deconstructed the salmon flat bread and had an amazing breakfast regardless!! The smoked salmon is exquisite and those capers OMG! Coupled with the pickled onions and the arugula I was in heaven! Great staff and super accommodating!! Love it and will definitely be back!

Excellent location in Napa’s Old Mill District, with a large and sunny patio that’s perfect any time of day. I had the Paleo Scramble (+ goat cheese) and a double cappuccino— both were great. Trending towards 3 $$$, but still recommended.

Super sad because I wanted to love this place. When I called over the phone everything seemed super cool and I was honestly excited to try Napa general store. When myself my 75 year old disabled mom 2 toddler children and husband arrived we were told it would be a 45 minute wait so we decided to take our food to go. There was a super nice lady working the wine bar who talk to me in to staying with a cold carafe of water And a super sweet personality. We were then told by the 1st hostess that it would probably be only a 20 minute wait if the kids could sit on the same side of the table which I of course agreed to. I received my 1st text message confirming the restaurant had me in the weight Q but after 25 minutes of waiting I checked in with the hostess who told me it would be another 30 minutes. When I asked her why didnt the phone service message me it would be an extra 30 minutes she said she was just getting around to sending out the messages although I had seen her twice before I asked at which time she could have easily told me my kids my elderly mother and husband that it would be an additional 30 minute wail. While I understand things are super busy trying to get back to normal customer service should still be priority especially for a hostess. We should not have had to wait almost 40 minutes to be informed it would be in additional 30 minutes. Especially because she saw the party I was with being an elderly woman and 2 small children. I think this was very unprofessional and inconsiderate therefore I would not be returning..

Received recommendations from the Napa visitor center to have breakfast at the Napa General Store, which was conveniently located a block away. The general store is so cute and has a lovely atmosphere. Both of us enjoyed our breakfasts and the service was great. There was a lovely fireplace in the dining area and the general store had tons of little trinkets and things to purchase (if that’s your thing).

I took my family to eat 10/17/20 around 11am there and they loved itMore because the girls were fast and attented to us . We were a party of 10 and they got us tables to fit all of us and right away.They took all the safety measures and then seat us down.My family from MinnesotaSays thank you to the girls of making a great experiences . Great value Wine Tasting and delicious brunch

This is a total Gem in Napa! The Benedict on the weekends is one of my favorites and they have the prettiest Bloody Marys Ive ever seen. The Brioche French toast with fresh whipped cream? Out of this world! And the breakfast potatos are simple but so delicious. The host is really sweet and the servers are super cool and knowledgeable. The best part is its usually not that long of a wait on Saturdays. Sundays it gets busy, so expect to wait at least 30 mins.

Tried Napa General Store for the first time this morning for breakfast and wow! Our server, Noi, was so kind and helpful. They had Napa Valley Distillery hand sanitizer available at each tableI. I ordered the Fieldhand’s Breakfast which comes with corn meal pancakes. They were perfectly fluffy and delicious! I loved them! My partner had the basic breakfast with sausage and breakfast potatoes. The breakfast potatoes were so yummy. The horseradish Bloody Mary was a refreshing addition to a wonderful meal. Check them out now that they are open again. We got to dine INDOORS 🙌🏼🙌🏼, but their patio is also available. We will definitely be back. Excellent start to my day

Delicious breakfast after kayaking the Napa RiverWe were starving, and enjoyed their French toast, eggs, chicken sausage and potatoes. Coffee was good too, and fresh squeezed OJ. Service was good, but coffee was not refilled.Patio dining was great, beautiful surroundings.

Delicious scrambled eggs with spinach, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms & avocado. We only had 1/2 hr before our kayaking time started & our amazing waitress brought our order out in 10mins so we had plenty of time to eat. Thank you! :)

Everything a person on vacation would need.

Old style country store with lots of wine gifts and trinkets. Good food at the cafe with a decent variety of options. Full coffee bar and adult beverages at Sunday brunch. Right on the river with a nice walking trail.

I had a great brunch today. I loved the food but there was a wait. A little pricey but if you go easy on the Mimosas then its quite reasonable. They have very unique items in the gift shop. True Napa one of a kind items and clothes. Check it out. Very nice indoor and patio seating. Good for groups of every size.

Excellent food and the owner Jill was wonderful! She made me feel very comfortable and her customer service is outstanding. Plus, theyve got the coolest stuff! Cant wait to go back.
