Need ANY work done on your Jeep? Looking for reasonable prices and a team with PHD level knowledge of your precious rig? Look no further! Words cannot express how satisfied I am with the work done at Wildside. Before discovering Wildside, I had window shopped other shops closer to me in the NW suburbs. All of them were making me hesitant to let them work on my Jeep. Some of them were asking for an arm and a leg, others werent knowledgable about Jeep basics, and NONE were hospitable or passionate/enthusiastic about helping me determine the right setup.. I felt like I was shopping around at Used Car Dealership.Once I connected with Wildside Jeep Customs, I knew I made the right choice. I DROVE AN HOUR AND HALF just because of this gem of a place. And I would do it again and again..Staff: Brian was quick to accommodate my jeep. They were in constant communication with me to make sure I had everything I needed to make my dream mod come true. Dan was the primary mechanic to work on my Jeep. When I had ordered the parts for my lift, Kevin found cheaper prices (under retail) that saved me hundreds of dollars. I never had to hesitate to reach out to him (even after shop hours) and he was always ready to help. The man has a gift. I finally had the peace of mind knowing my jeep was in good hands.Dan and Kevin are geniuses with their Jeep knowledge and skill. He knows how to treat your baby. Words cannot say enough for how thankful I was to have him work on my jeep. You wouldnt trust a nobody with your baby....think of them as a team of neurosurgeons when it comes to Jeeps!!!! They even worked after shop hours because of how passionate he is working on Jeeps. These are the kind of people you want to work with. THANK YOU GUYS!TLDR; Modding a Jeep is fun, but. Its not the kind of work you want to hand over to any shop. Looking for peace of mind, quality work, reasonable proces, and a staff that works night and day to leave you content? Jeep Wildside Customs is the shop for you.
More than a Jeep ShopAfter 2 years of owning my Jeep JKU, I finally had saved enough money to get some much needed work done on my Jeep. I knew of John from my Jeep club, shout out to Midwest Jeep Alliance and so I knew I would start with him when I needed to get some work done. I totally made the right decision. Even before I even took my Jeep into the shop, I had a chance to work with Kevin, who worked on my gear change, I went from stock 4.30 to 5.13 RevGear. I was unsure of if I should get 4.88s or 5.13. John and Kevin shared their experiences and helped me make my own decision. I started down the path of getting Fox shocks and John suggested getting Falcons, I actually bought the Falcon monotubes from Extreme Terrain but should have got them from Wildside as they could have saved me money on the purchase. The third thing that I had worked on was my Christmas light collection. If any of you have had a Jeep for awhile, you know exactly what I am talking about. Kevin sent me all the codes that I was getting, I had like 6 or 7 and did the diagnostics to get it fixed. For me, it turned out, that it was a right wheel sensor that needed to be replaced. He took that time to go through with me what lights I was seeing, what situations caused them to occur and sent many pictures of the codes and also gave me great details of the codes. It is very reassuring to have someone who not only works on your Jeep but takes the time to understand how you drive it and what could be causing the issue. Kevin also showed me the baddest a** spare tire wheel brake light even though I had one already, this one blew mine out of the water...that will be another upgrade. Okay, lets get back to the regear. Kevin provided me instructions on the break in period and when I need to come back. Hopefully, at that time I will have enough to also change the diff covers. I really couldnt have had a better Jeep customization and repair experience. And one additional thing, you may be able to get some similar things done at a Jeep dealer or another Jeep shop but you may not get to know who is working on your Jeep on a personal level. At Wildside, you will get to know two great people, talk about Jeeps, talk about life, and experience a great shop at Wildside. They made me feel like I have been going there for years and I truly received great service on my Jeep, soooo happy! I cant wait until the break in period is over so I can finally consistently use 6th gear. Thanks Kevin and John!!! You guys and your shop are great!!!Tony
Am extremely happy with work Wildside has done on my 2019 4-door Sahara JLU. Work done on two occasions. First job was an install of AirlLift 1000 coil spring load support airbags to help level my JLU while towing a small trailer. That worked out well, but I decided that I really wanted a proper suspension, so I had Wildside install the TeraFlex CT2 suspension system with Falcon SP2 3.3 adjustable piggyback shocks (and a BOLT hood lock, as I had a tampering incident in the past). The next week after the suspension work, I drove 1500 miles to New Mexico for camping and off-road travel, and also towed a 2000 lb trailer for a bit (and then 1500 miles back to home). Everything worked great – no issues whatsoever. The upgraded suspension really improved highway handling and the added clearance was great for negotiating the trails. Special thanks to Brian for his responsiveness to my emails in selecting the TeraFlex suspension kit; special thanks to the installer whose name I don’t remember; and enjoyed talking with John (Owner?) who gave me some great advice. Next upgrade is to move to 35-inch tires (and all the miscellaneous stuff that goes along with the increased tire size) and will definitely be reaching out to Wildside when I’m ready to do this. I have complete confidence in their work.
Kevin is awesome! I echo the review that said, Kevin is an electrical genius!!!! I went to Wildside Jeep customs to have a subwoofer/amp combo installed in my Jeep Wrangler, it was supposed to go under one of the seats, but the way the Jeeps are made now, they have a vent under the front two seats and the back two seats drop down when folded down, but Kevin made it work and the sub is still completely hidden and I have full use of my trunk space! Kevin is all about customer service and ensuring the customer is happy, he listens to your request and fulfills them as well as he is transparent and will let you know if anything needs to be changed from what was discussed. He did such an amazing job!!! Thank you Kevin! I also met John the owner, and he is also a really good guy! Wildside Jeep customs is the best, I got to see a lot of their custom work and all I can say is you can’t go wrong bringing your Jeeps here!
Took my JKU there to get my towing wiring sorted out and the guys were great! Got to meet John, the owner, and hes a stand up guy. while they were working on my jeep I even went and helped John out. This place is Legit.befire coming here I called that place down the road and they never answered the phone or called back. Im really glad they didnt. Wildside Id the place to get your work done!
Being new to upgrading my JL Saraha, I turned to Wildside. Kevin was awesome helping me through the right selection of my 3” lift to what tires to put on my new Black Rhino wheels. Anyone looking to upgrade needs to call Wildside.
John and his team were amazing and helped me out last minute with some Jeep parts I needed to take off as the bolts were rusted through. They were so welcoming and you can tell they are very passionate about what they do! Very reasonable prices and quality service. Highly recommended!
I have really enjoyed my experience at Wildside. John and the rest of the team wasted no time getting to work on the large job of restoring my classic Wrangler. I was always kept up to date and treated with respect. Professional and straight to the point. I will go to Wildside for all my Jeep needs in the future!!
These guys rock!!! Got fog lights done by an electronics shop in Bloomingdale, had nothing but issues. Wildside fixed the issue and installed new ones promptly and made sure the issue would not come back. They stand behind their work and are very experienced and an honest group of guys. I will definitely be going back for my future endeavors.
I was having some electrical issues with my Jeep JK and went to multiple Jeeps shops including the one on the same road as Wildside. No one could figure out what to do, but thankfully I came to WILDSIDE. Kevin is an electrical wizard and knew exactly what to do and fixed all of my issues, really good guy. Not only that, but both him and John really make you feel like family at their shop. Yes, there are a lot of Jeep shops out there, but none of them will exceed expectations and service like Wildside.
I called yesterday for a tire balance and came in the next day. John did everything to make me feel at home while Dan balanced my tires. Im very happy with the service and definately recommended Wildside Jeep Customs to anyone needing Jeep service or upgrades!
This place can trick out a Jeep like Ive never seen before. They are truly Craftsman. Wonderful works of mechanical art. If you have a Jeep and want it to be unique, then you seriously need to check this place out.
If you want the job done right, you will come here. These guys helped me build exactly what I wanted. They helped me the whole way through. They work their butts off here. They had my Jeep done and ready for alignment in one day. They are extremely trustworthy, sending photo updates at each step of the build. Their pricing is very fair and is well worth the top of the line job you will get. They are always upfront with customers, keep them informed and stand behind their work and parts 💯%. Will definitely be coming back to them to work on my Jeep!
Called them with some questions about a Rubicon and all my questions were answered and more! What a great business to deal with. Thanks again for the help!
This place is amazing. I went to a few different places before i found wild customs and they were horrible. John was a straight up guy and literally told me what needs to get done right away and what i can wait on and what is going bad. Even though he is an 1 hr away, for sure i will be coming back to do note wor . Everyone at the shop is pretty cool and they are not the type of mechanics that try to nickel & dime you. They are upfront and honest
No brainer! If you have a Jeep, come here for repairs/upgrades. Staff old school friendly. Not in it for the cash. You can tell this place simply loves Jeeps and everything Jeep.Go nowhere else for Jeep work. This shop is the absolute best I have ever been to. Passionate, friendly, reasonable. Why go to the Stealership when these guys work on Jeeps everyday. Love this place.
Wildside is awesome! I got front and rear poison spyder crusher flares installed with poison spyder inner fenders. I could not be happier with the work they did and how courteous they were. Both John and Kelly were extremely responsive to my emails and phone calls. They also stock teraflex parts so if your like me and dont want to wait for snail mail you can buy parts to install yourself. I bought a falcon steering stabilizer from them and installed myself. (I only stick to the easy stuff) Ill definitely be back once I save up some more dough for the next upgrade. Thanks Wildside!
These guys really know what they are doing when it comes to jeeps and they do great work too. I will be back as they are the most competent garage customizing jeeps in the Chicago area Ive come by.
John, the owner and his crew are very knowledgeable and readily willing to give sound advise for your Jeeps upgrades and care. I can confidently say I will be visit his shop again in the future
I was referred to Wildside by a good car friend of mine and I will cut right to the chase, stop wasting your time and money elsewhere. They’re transparent with your bill, they do excellent work, and they will price you out for whatever caliber of build/parts that you need for your jeep. I have never had this level of care and attention given to my Jeep before, and given all they do is jeeps, I was extremely impressed and reassured of their capabilities. Cody and Mike we’re who I had the pleasure of working with on some front end steering and death wobble issues. If you’re in need of some simple maintenance or it’s time to take your Jeep to the next level, get an appointment with Wildside today!
Great experience! I love the lift on my Jeep, can’t wait to get more work done.
Did everything expected and did it well. And then they did more than expected and we were amazed. Really appreciate their approach to their business.
My experience with Wildside was great. I was contemplating between two different lift options and Kelly recommended I come in at take a look at them (as there is only so much you can see online). John gave me his recommendation based on his experiences and what he has seen his customers do in the past. As he likes to say, do it right the first time which I followed. The installation went great. Very professional and timely. You can tell that they all take pride in the work they do and will go that extra mile to make sure you are happy and explain things to a novice like me.I look forward to working with the team at Wildside in the future. I would recommend for people to check them out for the outstanding work they do and for the knowledge that they can provide.
Ive been a mechanic for forty plus years, and took my JL to Wildside to have a lift kit installed, I can honestly say that the job was done correctly, labor rates were fair, and the owner and employees are knowledgeable in what they install. I would reccomend highly that if your in the market for a lift kit talk to the staff here and consider Wildside for your installation or questions about a lift you are considering.
The owner at Wildside treats your vehicle like his own and does a great job. He constantly sent me updated pictures of my jeep as it was being worked on and easily answered all of my questions. Packaged pricing takes out the concern of what you should have done as he already puts together multiple priced bundles on his website for you. Great experience, I will return for my next upgrade for sure.
Great guys who know their stuff! Super friendly. Very clean shop. I loved my service here and will be bringing my Jeep back for more modifications!
Super satisfied with the work John and his crew did to my 2012 JK, couldnt be happier with how it turned out, John is incredibly helpful with any questions u have and gave me exactly what i was looking for! I highly reccomend!!
Jon worked with me to give me what I needed for the type of Jeeping I do. He has an extensive knowledge of Jeeps and is passionate about creating the perfect ride for his customers. Wildside was very accommodating and let me come in to see the options and show me some of the builds they have done and explain what would be done for me. Picking up my Jeep Jon went over the work and talked to me about his recommendations for maintenance and suggested future upgrades. Outstanding work by Jon and his staff.
Found Wildside on Google, this was my first jeep and I dont know much about them. When I contacted John he was extremely helpful and showed me a ton of pictures of past projects he had completed to give me some ideas while welcoming me into their shop to drive one of his or his assistant Kellys jeeps to get an idea how they drive with different lift kits and tires. The professionalism that they showed and the care for what they do was completely evident throughout our discussion. I am extremely picky to the point that I could be a pain in the butt, yet John and Kelly worked with me patiently to arrive at a look for my jeep that is beyond remarkable. The installation was quick, top notch, and with an extreme amount of attention to the small details. I would recommend anyone interested in making small or large modifications to their jeep to contact John and Kelly and give them a chance and rest assured you will not be disappointed.
I received excellent advise/service after my initial two visits to this shop! Jon (owner) took the time to look at my sons Wrangler which had several death wobble incidents. After noticing several contributors to the situation, he strongly suggested we no longer drive the vehicle (extreme safety issue) due to the extensive frame rust which he showed me after putting the jeep on the lift. I heeded his advise to replace the vehicle and he also checked out a replacement vehicle to insure road worthiness. Based on his honest and professional advice, I would highly recommend anyone needing wrangler work (big or small) done to check out this shop. If that wasnt enough, both visits were at no charge!
I cannot say enough good things about Wildside Jeep Customs. I have been considering putting a lift and tires on my Jeep for about 3 years and when I finally decided to do so I started googling Jeep shops in the area and found Wildside. I sent them an email asking a few questions and had a response right away as well as a call from the owner John with some advice on parts, he also encouraged me to come in and take a look at the shop and test drive a vehicle before making any decisions. When I got to the shop it was quickly apparent that John and Kelly are first class individuals that treat you like you are their only customer. I never felt any pressure to make any modifications beyond what I was looking to do. John and Kelly showed me all of the options that were available to me and helped me create my idea of a Dream Jeep.Throughout the entire process they answered any and all questions I had and Kelly was a trooper bearing with me though all my last minute changes! Also, special thanks to Michael Chrysty for top quality work and attention to detail on the final product.Three major takeaways from the experience: 1. Do it right the first time, listen to John’s advice 2. Don’t think twice about the Mickey Thompson Tires, they are unreal and you won’t be disappointed! (I was a skeptic until the test drive and seeing them in person) 3. If you can, go for the Powdercoat Suspension, it really gives the Jeep a custom look and will separate you from the pack!I will be a repeat customer for sure. Thanks again.
Wildside just installed a teraflex 2.5 in lift on my 2015 Wrangler JK and did an awesome job! The jeep looks amazing and drives great! Cody was super easy to work with and very knowledgeable and there was no pressure! Will definitely use them again!!
Had an issue with a lift on my Jeep. Called and Jon had it fixed within 20 minutes. For new Jeep owners, just go here. Forget the user groups, go talk to people that know Jeep products inside and out. Would HIGHLY recommend.
Turns out the art of personalize customer service isnt dead. It lives at Wildside Jeep Customs. John, the owner, and his highly skilled team are jeep rock stars. I purchased the 3 lift kit on a 08 JK. The work that team did to my jeep BEFORE installing the lift kit was incredible! Cleaned it up nicely! When I witnessed the tech, Mike, possess a intense focus on my jeep, and his eye and ear for details, I new I was in the right shop, all a reflection of the owner himself. John and Mike treated my car as if it were their own. Sending pics at every stage of the transformation. Actually going above and beyond because John express to me its his signature work hes stamping on my jeep so everthing had to reflect his high standards. Shout out to Cody as well, handling all the logistics for me. Passionate about everything jeep is how Id describe this team.
Wildside and all of its staff rock! I cannot say enough good things about them. I went from a bad situation with one shop to an over the top amazing experience at Wildside, great work guys!! I will only bring my Jeep there from now on, I highly recommend them!
Having been screwed over by other automotive shops before, I wanted to take my jeep somewhere where they specialized in jeeps. Well this is this place!! John was great to work with and was upfront about everything. He took care of me and did not take advantage of me like other shops have in the past. As far as quality and service, it took them less than 24 hours by the time I dropped my jeep off until I got it back the next day. John is a great guy, funny, and owns a reputable business! Hands down take your jeep here to get worked on!
Cant speak highly enough about John and his crew at Wildside. I went there for 2.5 Teraflex coil lift because I was looking to get rid of the rake and add some after market bumpers. I wasnt planning on getting bumpers that day but John had some really nice Teraflex bumpers in stock so he added those to the Jeep. He also ended up putting on some very bright LED lights on both the front and rear bumpers and hooked them up to inside with an A-pillar.John has a really nice and clean shop that looks well run. Him and his crew are very friendly and professional. The work they do is extremely well done...no cutting corners and taking the time to make sure that everything is done right the first time only time. You can tell that they enjoy working on Jeeps from the attention to details on their modifications. John is always willing to work with you and will be straight forward on any modifications that you want to do. He’ll steer you in the right direction so that you’ll get the best out of what you’re looking for. I plan on doing more work with John in the near future and will keep this post updated. Highly recommend Wildside for any kind of work large or small.
Knowledgeable people who will help you customize your jeep. They were supportive every step of the way and offered competitive pricing and quality service.
My first experience with the team at Wildside was awesome. I brought my sons jeep in because we were having a few problems with some work my son had done on the suspension.I emailed Kelly earlier in the day and she responded within the hour. I then spoke to her on the phone and she provided a number of possible solutions on the phone and invited me to stop by. When I arrived at the shop, she and John were so helpful, walking me through possible solutions, showing me where the problems were occurring and mapping out how to fix them. When we were inspecting the Jeep, they noticed that it was leaking brake fluids and investigated further. Come to find out the front brake line had a problem, had ruptured, and was leaking significantly. John immediately came up with a solution, stayed lated to fix it and got me on my way. I neglected to get the name of the other mechanic, but they worked as a team, providing great service.I have never, ever had such personal service and commitment from a person I had just met. I was so impressed with their attention and willingness to do the right thing.I am now in the process of determining how to lift the jeep and get it back in working order. Hard to imagine I could ever find a shop or team that will provide the level of service they gave me today.I recommend Wildsides with no reservation!
Omg almost $2099 I got screwed over and I had to spend $1200 to get the right and new parts put on not the used parts john soled me and charges me for new.
The owner,John Roth, is fantastic, passionate about jeeps and very knowledgable.Wildside offers great prices and their work is top notch.I highly recommend Wildside Motorsports.
My name is Jose and i cannot say enough good things about Wildside Jeep Customs they really made my dreams come true they are very professional and they treat me like family I took my 2007 and they transform my jeep exactly the way i want it I will defenelly will come back thank you Kelly & Mike you guys are the best, again thank you .A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER
They are not a Jeep dealer. They customize Jeeps. Awesome service and people
Very helpful and provided great advice
Honest guys, great work, quality parts. Do not go anywhere else.
Good guys. Didnt sell me stuff I didnt need and gave me a fair price.
Wildside just wrapped an awesome job on my 2016 JKU. 3 8 arm Teraflex lift with trackbar, Falcon shocks and Falcon steering stabilizer. Axle sleeves and gussets, exhaust spacer, wheel adapters, and windshield tint strip. I really appreciated John texting me pictures of their progress throughout the build. They love to make the customer part of the experience. Great work!
Great guys here! Very knowledgeable about Jeeps and work to keep your business!
Wildside has worked on my quad, dirtbike, go kart, and my truck. Repairs and performance upgrades. Excellent job every time!
John does great work! Its rare to find a business owner that cares about their customers experience the way he does, I will never have work done on my jeep by any other shop.
Awesome experience! Im having John build me another one!
Always great service and support.
Bad a** place
Great staff
