Would given no stars. Had a cub cadet tiller and cultivator serviced last fall. It took 3 months. Got them home, no oil change in either machine. Asked them to fix a tire leak and it wasn’t done.

We love Chiltons. They always have what you need. I have bought a Stihl chain saw and blower from Chiltons and have always been quoted reasonable price. There service people are great too. The work needed, if different than specified is always explained in a phone call. I wouldnt take my service/repairs anywhere else.

Old mower bit the dust and I was desperate to find a quick replacement. After speaking with Dave in sales, he made the process efficient and informative. Literally walked out with a new Gravely in 15 minutes and they even delivered it to my house for free. Definitely use Chilton for all your lawn needs. Everyone who works there was extremely pleasant to deal with.

Perhaps the worst customer experience Ive ever had. Brought in my mower for a simple fix. After a month, they still hadnt fixed it. Eventually had to have them return it to me so I could take it somewhere else. The lack of communication was unbelievable. Here are five reasons why I will never go back to Chilton Turf Center:1. Promised to call to arrange pickup. Never did. Instead, they just showed up at my house and then became frustrated when my mower wasnt sitting in the driveway.2. Promised to call with an estimate on the repair cost. Never did. After I finally got in touch with them, they told me that it shouldnt be that much.3. They never answer the phone. Be prepared to call and call and call and call...4. Was finally told they had my part and would get it fixed the next day. That was two weeks ago.5. When they finally returned my (unfixed) mower, they failed to return the keys. On top of that, they didnt bother to reassemble the parts they removed. Instead they just put them in a Ziploc back and taped it to the seat. Nice touch.Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else. Your sanity will thank you.

Very friendly and helpful employees. I strongly recommend them. The employee in repair was trying to explain things to a man who is partially deaf. The man couldnt understand so the employee wrote down everything for him and the employee was so patient and kind. I even told the employee how kind and patient he was with him that there wasnt that many people left in the world like that. He even took my trimmer to the car for me because he knew I wasnt suppose to be picking it up. Such a wonderful young man named Nikki.

I havent shopped here yet as i was looking for a riding mower and found these reviews.This is simply unbelievable and something so rare it surprised me a great deal. They have responded to EVERY comment! Not only that but these have to be the most considerate, understanding, kind responses Ive ever seen and just the absolute wanting to make it right is just amazing. With these responses i cant believe these posts arent all 5 stars.You just cant please some people and these negative posts are the best example of that.I Dont care if it costs more (dont know if it does) and i dont care how far i have to go i will be buying from them and having all my service work done here.Thank you for being one of the last places i now know where your attitude is the customer is always right as thats evident from your responses.Good managers and owners mean good employees and by that statement you must have the best employees in Tennessee!

I should have heeded the warnings. I took my pressure washer in to be fixed in June and was told that the backlog was 2 weeks. My washer was brand new, I simply let it set to long and it wouldn’t start. So, this would’ve been like buying something from Lowes and storing it for a while then it wouldn’t start. It was in great shape. After a month I called for an update. The manager of the repair department said that they couldn’t order the part but would see what he could do. So, I called back 2 weeks later and was met with the HORRIBLE phones there. Many times the phone wasn’t answered and there was no voicemail or way to route to the service department. Once answered (after calling back to back to back), then you hold for the repair manager sometimes 10 or so minutes. After getting the manager, he says the same thing….we’re working on it but not sure we can get the part. A month or so later I call back for another update and it was much like the previous 2 updates. Each time I called back my frustration level got worse and worse. Finally after 3 months they called and said that my pressure washer was ready. I went to get and when they found it (after much looking) it didn’t have the wand, spray nozzles, or hose. It looked like it had been beat up and used for the 2 years I had it instead of unused and in good shape. When they couldn’t find my accessories they started pillaging from other peoples washers that had been repaired or to be repaired. I couldn’t believe it. At the end of the day my washer worked and I wasn’t charged for a repair but when the parts which the workers scavenged from others washers didn’t work well mostly based on their condition I went ahead and paid 70$ (which is what I expected the repair to cost) to replace the wand, hose, and nozzles. I will NEVER go back to this place again. I asked to speak to a manager and found that the incompetent person I had been working with who was very disrespected by those he managed was a manager and that the owner never comes to the store. If you try to escalate an issue you’ll soon find that nobody here cares and there will likely be no satisfactory resolution to even the simplest issue. RUN FOREST RUN….don’t go here!

Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone if its within 1 hour of opening or closing time. So annoying. Several times Ive called in the afternoon to see if a STIHL part was in stock and coincidentally it was around 4pm--they close at 5pm in the Spring time. Twice I gave up and drove the 20 minutes to their store and of course, theyre open and there are workers present. I just checked on my part and didnt both asking why werent answering the phone. Im sure theyre too afraid they might have to actually do some work that prevents them from walking out of the door abruptly at closing time. I have been in their store several times and a few of them are condescending and act like youre an idiot if you ask questions that they cant answer. I just dont like the place now.Since the last time this happened, I havent called there or been there. I will shop somewhere else. If a business actually answers the phone and treats me with respect, I will gladly pay more money if I have to. This place sucks.

Awful experience being absolutely chastised here.needed a needle valve for my lawn mower and explained as such and was rudely told ‘that’s easy for you to say.’ apparently I was supposed to know the serial number of my lawn mower (which is understandable but at the time didn’t even know other size needle valves existed). I told them I would get the serial number, which I did, then went to home depot.unfortunately home depot did not have the part and I returned. fortunately a different employee helped me who was much kinder (perhaps because I had the engine number, perhaps because he was just kinder than the original employee). he is the only reason this review isn’t for one star. i’m sure they can repair well and it’s a well stocked shopped but their service leaves literally everything to be desired.hopefully i will not have to return.

I bought a Stihl backpack sprayer here and have not been pleased with the equipment, service after the sale, or the attitude of the employees. Interactions with employees here, from the sales staff to the service department employees, even the manager, left me feeling that serving me was a somehow a difficulty for them. I dont generally write reviews, but this was poor service and I would like for others to be able to avoid dealing with these folks if they have a choice. The low rating on this shop by other reviewers is accurate.

Bought a Gravely ZT XL-42 earlier this year. Very good experience. Mower is nice!! Added the mulch kit a couple weeks ago when I took it in for the break in 10 hour oil change. Also bought a new Stihl FS 56 weed eater and got the chain sharpened on my Stihl chainsaw. Total time took about an hour and a half. So I ran an errand and came back. No problems. Thanks guys.

When youre ready to purchase professional grade equipment for the maintenance of your property you need to shop at Chiltons Turf Center. They are not the least expensive but you are going to receive amazing customer service, knowledge, advice, great selection and value for your dollar. In September of last year I was shopping for a new mower. I had researched Skag mowers and stopped to see what Roger Smith had to offer. Roger took me under his wing, asked me several pertinient questions about my needs and directed me to a slightly smaller, less expensive Gravely zero turn mower that better fit my needs. I couldnt be more pleased with my purchase. I highly recommend Chiltons.

I stopped by Chiltons on Tuesday August 7 to see about getting a pull-starter rope reattached on my Poulan chainsaw, expecting to have to leave it there for a day or two.. Mark, one of the service mechanics took it to the workbench and had it fixed in ten minutes! He and the man at the service desk went out of their way to help me, and explain things about my chainsaw. Horrible repair service. I took our lawnmower to have the front plate replaced. They promised to call with a price, and promised to repair it in one week. They didnt call, so I called after 8 days. Turned out they broke the axle trying to repair it and so needed to order an axle. I do not recommend using them.

Chilton’s delivers, every time.I was standing in the aisle at Home Depot about to buy a mower when it hit me ... #BuyLocal ! I had been to C’s a few times for service and Carburetor repair (ask for Jeff!), and had nothing but good vibes, and I remembered people saying the version of products that go to Big Box Stores (Wal Mart / Home Depot, etc), are not the same thing because of the price point they have to hit.I go to C’s at 11:54 on a Saturday, 6 minutes before closing time ... they were happy to see me, didn’t rush me, didn’t try to sell me the more expensive models ... and for the same money as HD, I took home a sweet Honda (with a steel Honda Deck unlike HD version). Also helped me load it in the rain!Sure, you can get one at HD for $250, but spend the extra $125, get a 3 yr Warranty (some stuff was 2 yrs at HD) and get a Honda that will last and the proceeds go to a Nashville business owner!

Walked in to buy 2 chainsaws, a backpack blower, and a weed water. Could have likely been talked into a new zero turn while there. 4k worth of product. Looked at merchandise for over 45 mins. There are not that many repair places left in Nashville, as such, they take a long time and now have a ton of non-customer friendly policies.
