We had a very pleasant experience here. We scheduled an appointment online a couple days beforehand. The staff were swamped but they remained friendly at all times and got us checked in, tested, and checked out within an impressive time frame. They deserve a lot of credit for being so patient and efficient. We would definitely go back!

I was in this location today and I had a 5star experience,The manager was completely understanding of my situation and made me feel comfortable and assured that we would find the solution to my problem . He also made sure I was selecting the right frame for my head shape and style. Would definitely suggest anyone and I very one to go see Greg (branch manager) And he’ll have you set up feeling good!👍🏼

I truly recommend this optical station is one of the most highly recommended, fast efficient and Greg was wounderful and sweet this is my 2nd time I go, the 1st was for me and the 2nd was for my son. I was treated with kindness and he recommended good care for glasses and my glasses are perfect and my son was impressed I will call this my eye station for future eye exams and glasses. Thank you so much for the services.

I was able to get an appointment the same day, even though I scheduled mine for the next day. My eye exam cost me 45 dollars, and I was done in 30 minutes. I could have went to my insurance provider and paid 30 dollars but I would have to wait 1 week. For me next day service was better.

I couldnt have asked for better service than I got from Shannon! He was helpful and made me feel comfortable. I also recommend the National City Stanton Optical store in general. They have a great Optometrist too. The prices are awesome especially if you are a senior. Now that Ive gotten my new glasses (which came back in 2 weeks exactly), I couldnt be happier with them! This store will get my business from now on! I highly recommend them to everyone!

My 94 year old Grandmothers reading glasses were stolenShe had seen numerous Stanton Optical commercials and asked me to make an appointment with themI went online to their website and made an appointment at the National City store.The online appointment process asked for her date of birth. I was set for 10am today.About 9am I missed a call from the Stanton Optical store asking me to call back for an update and supplied a telephone numberI called and spoke with customer service 3 times and they had no idea why they needed to speak with my grandmother or me.My grandmother uses a walker and walks short distances. We walked into the store and the employee courteously greeted us.I informed him my grandmother was present for her 10am appointment. He said he did not show her for an appointment today. I told him I booked the appointment online last night at the Highland Avenue, National City Store. He could not find the appointment.I told him my grandmother is 94 years old and needed reading glasses.He informed me she would have to see their in house Dr. Who is only at the office on certain dates & times. He offered to search for an appointment with the Dr. but it would probably not be until Friday at another store.I was upset but realized it was not the employees fault. I told him their company service was HORRIBLE! I spoke to him and shared why I was upset.1. I told him their customer service department called me and no idea why they called me. 3 separate calls and I was transferred to different departments with employees who did not have any rrsdons/solutions2. The online appointment process asked for my Grandmothers age and never mentioned seniors required an house Dr. appointment.3. We appeared for an appointment that was never set up at the store.The employee was a stand up guy and apologized for the company even though he was never part of the negative issues.NO TO STANTON OPTICAL!

I’ve been to many optometrist in San Diego, and by far this has been the best experience.

Partially a review of Stanton in general, partially a review of this location.Stanton is cheap, basic vision care. If you know what you want, great. If you dont, or you want to discuss options you are better off going somewhere you actually get to speak with an optometrist. Stanton utilizes remote refractionists via teleconferencing, and you will never meet nor see the optometrist that signs your prescription.Came in for contacts. Wanted to compare monthlies to dailies. This is not possible with Stanton. They are unable to show you comparitive pricing between different lenses or daily/monthly unless you elect to pay for an exam for each item you want to compare.Location specific: There is a wall missing/being replaced that is caution taped off. Floors and sinks are dirty, and Im pretty sure the eye chart in the contact fitting room is significantly closer than it should be. The orange chairs are extremely flimsy (like might break when I sit down) and uncomfortable.Staff at this location is awesome. Shannon really went above and beyond to help me get what I needed. Im sure he would do more if he could, but seems to be hamstrung by Stanton policies and procedures. Shannon absolute MVP of this location, and the only reason this review is 4 stars rather than 2 or 3.

First time buyer, my sister got her pair of eyes for $250. Which looked very nice on her. They were sunglasses with tint and blue UV light (I think that’s the name, not sure), and anti- reflective coating with unbreakable coating (I think).Originally I was supposed to go to eye care (in National City) for a new pair of glasses but they rejected me. It was very rude and unprofessional. Personally, I never did like the eye care (In National city) the people there were always rude and in a rush to get things done. The time for my glasses to get done would be like a whole month just for one pair. And they wouldn’t notify me until another week has passed (of them just sitting there) very unprofessional. Recommend not coming to the eye care in National city if you value your time.Unlike eye care, my time was valued, it took me about maybe 10 mins for my eye exam and about almost an hour to look for glasses. I had a good time. I wasn’t rushed or being bothered when looking for my glasses.Finally had my chance to get new glasses! I got two pairs, one simple yet nerdy type of glasses (blue color, for nights) and one sunglasses (which looked so cute for the daytime and even went for any outfit! Light brown color).Both were $350, originally they were supposed to be $450 but my sister couldn’t pay that much, so we were supposed to settle on just the simple glasses.Unexpectedly, the person helping us with my glasses was the boss, so he saved my sister $450 dollars and reduced the price to $350 instead of $450! I’m happy and excited about my glasses. Although they were not cheap I’m still happy and thankful for my sister for coming with me and buying them!I suggest if you want Kate spade glasses go to Chula Vista or La Mesa Staton Optical. Sadly they don’t have them at National City Staton Optical :(

First impression of this place was horrible. Walk into the back where the exam rooms are and its looks rundown and horribly put together.Doesn’t look professional at all. Then they tried to have me see a doctor over a video? Like how is this person supposed to exam my eyes over a video? I understand it’s a pandemic going on but every other doctors office I have been going to is a real person there to examine you. Why would I waste my time going into an office if I’m going to see a doctor over a video? Would have been nice to be told this was how my appointment was going to go. Honestly never going back to this location ever again. The Chula Vista office is surprisingly more professional looking.

I had an appointment with Stanton Optical last Friday. The guy who was helping me moved at the pace of a sloth. He was extremely unprofessional. While helping me he walked away from me and helped 3 other people. Needless to say I walked out.They deserve zero stars!

Jesse and Jacinta are the best, they are so helpful and nice. Once you walk into the store they great you and ask if you need any help. They guided me though the whole eye glass shopping experience. Jacinta has great interpersonal and communication skills, she help me upgrade my eye glasses to fit my life style.

First visit to this site, the associate was quite rude and the assistance was poor. Wont go there again.

Had an excellent experience here when we came to get my daughters glasses. Evelyn was great at assisting us with her eye exam and helping us pick out 2 pairs for a reasonable price. Even went back a to get her a 3rd pair after she broke a pair. Will definitely be coming back.

The only reason Im not giving this place 5 stars is because of the $69 dollar exam and 2 pairs of glasses. There are only about 15 frames in which you can pick for the price to be $69 and theyre all ugly. Other than that, Id like to give a shout-out to Edwin for the amazing customer service he provided. He was very friendly and he answered all of my moms (many) questions.

I almost walked out before my appointment, some employees did not wear their masks around customers, and nothing was wiped down between patients. I called ahead and asked about insurance acceptance and they said they would see if I was covered when I came in for my appointment. They told me they dont accept my insurance after my exam and when I was about to buy the glasses. This is something that should have been disclosed before the exam.

This was the most professional, comfortable & helpful way to purchase prescription glasses! I made my appt Fri. afternoon & Im here Sunday! Excellent customer service!

Karina should be the absolute go-to person when you visit. She is very respectful and patient it comes for looking for glasses. Post appointment I had a speedbump but the store manager Greg redeemed himself and demonstrated why he is the manager and solved my problem.

This place runs the classic bait and switch scheme. they advertise free eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses for $59.99. Sounds like a great deal doesnt it. The offer is enough to get you in the door and then you learn that the 2 pair of glasses offer only applies to 5 out of the UGLIEST frames they have in the store. Thats right, out of approx 200 frames the advertised offer only applies to 5 frames. Dont waste your time like I did.

Great store, HUGE selection of glasses and the glass came pretty fast, less than a week or so, and nice service!

Its been more than 14 days and still they dont have my glasses. Spoke with 3 different employees there and they all tood me they were going to either call me to let me know what happened or that I was going to receive a notification... Still no call. I was told that I was going to have the glasses the same day, big disappointment since I reqlly need glasses.

Horrible do not go here. They did an eye exam. Sold us glasses 2pairs of glasses at that. Turns out my mom needed cataract surgery no pair of glasses would fix it. Shame on Stanton optical for taking advantage of senior citizens. When we reached out to Stanton to inform them of the mis diagnosis, they said sorry no refund. But come back after your cataract surgery and we will prescribe another set of glasses for you. What a joke. My fault for not walking out when I realized they do there consultation over webcam in a office lol shame on both of us I guess

This place is nothing but lies and games. I called and made an appointment to get eyeglasses and exam i ask two times if I can get them the same day I was told yes. I get there I was told by one person look at they glasses well I wait. I had someone else come over 5 minutes later come tell me to come take a seat and they will be right with me. They finish with someone else they take me in and start the exam after the exam I am told it coats me $45.00 for the exam but the $45.00 will be deducted from the price of the glasses. After I go speak to someone else and after I was picking out the frames did he tell me this location does not give you the glasses same day. I told him I was told two times when I called and made the appointment that I could get them same day. He tells me no 14 days. He then tells me here is your prescription and you can go some place else that does them same day. I told him if I would of been told in the first place I would of not went there to begin with but you already charged me $45.00 for the eye exam. You have a sale for two pairs and free eye exam for $65.00. He tells me yes but we cant get u the glasses today Chula Vista can make them same day I ask if I can pay there and go to Chula Vista to pick them up he said I dont know let me ask manager comes out and tells me no u cant i call corpret and as I am on the phone going off about it to them the manager tells me sir let me help u fix this today. Puts me on the phone with the regional manager. Who tells me let us help u fix this sir we will give you a discount that is what you want so lets see what we can do. I tell him no I want the eyeglasses the same day like I was told two times. Every time I tried to ask him to see if the other location in Chula Vista had the glasses frame I was wanting could I go there and pick it up the would cut me off and start telling me about a 14 day wait. I give the phone back because I am not going to keep getting cut off when I try to fix this by having them get a location to make them and I would go get them. But they did not want to hear it at all. To my knowledge any store that has the same names can have the other store take care of orders that they cant. But I see I was wrong or this store is only out for there self and not the company as a hole and taking care of customer. One of the people calls the cops because I am talking loud and trying to find out why did they lie and say I could get them that day and why since there was some kind of miss communication even though I asked two times if I could get them that day and was told yes two times. When I was told he called the cops I left and called there corpret and spoke to someone there telling them what is going on and trying to fix the problem so I could of got my glasses the same day as I was told. But at no time would anyone help me get the glasses or fix the problem.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Came here at 11 a.m., told us they were busy and scheduled an appointment for 3:45 p.m.. We came back and did not get seen, asked multiple times why we had to wait so long and they kept telling us Oh youre next after this person. We waited until almost 7 p.m. when the optometrist informed us that he was now off so he could no longer perform the exam and sign the forms that we need to send to a DMV out of state for a license renewal. Very unprofessional, WORST service I have ever received at an optometry place. I do not recommend this place to anyone unless you have hours to waste.Side note: the sales woman who helped us with the glasses ordering portion of this whole ordeal was nice so that can be what the one star is for. She was also the one who gave us a full refund on everything since we arent wasting our time here ever again.

Super disappointed very unprofessional the glasses already broke and it hasnt even been a month. On top of that the eye exam is done through video chat and bad reception never in our life have we ever had that couldnt understand what the opthamologist was even saying !!!!
