I called them to ask about all terrain tires and prices yesterday but couldnt get there at a reasonable time. Called back today and wasnt sure what tires I wanted and they gave me a discount on one of the sets I was looking at getting. I asked when I could get them on Chris said they would be able to get them on today. I arrived an hour later, they were very nice and extremely helpful. Professional staff at the front desk, I asked for additional details on precautions for my truck and who would be working on it to wear a mask and use hand sanitizer before getting in. They were very nice and willing to take the extra time and precautions without hesitation. Very polite the entire time I was there. They had been very busy most of the day however they were working on my truck within 5 minutes of my arrival. I asked several questions about the tires and warranty rotation and other things. They were very professional and answered my questions.I have made multiple purchases for tires over the years and have no problem saying that this was as pleasant an experience Ive had. No pressure on purchasing more expensive tires and a discount plus a rebate that came with the tires. I have no problem recommending them for tires oil change brakes or any problems that may have to be done, if they are able to take care of it they are an excellent choice. Chris and his counter partner ( didnt get her name) but she was very polite and she was very upfront and honest. Had no issues with answering questions and cashed me out explained what I had and what I could do for the rebate. I am very satisfied with my purchase 4 new all terrain tires and felt like a new truck driving home 45 minutes away, city, HWY and back country roads. From 35 mph to 70 plus Im very pleased with the suggestion and choice.Thank you for your prompt professional service.
The team at Mavis Tires in New Bern, NC are outstanding. They were professional, friendly and helpful. I had a run flat tire that had been nicely plugged and thought I might need to check the other tires to see if I needed any replacements. Another tire store recommended this company to me. I am glad they did. Chris and Russ were honest with me and told me that my tires had plenty of life in them and I did not need new tires right away. They checked on the tire pressure of all 4 tires and I was good to go. I know they do alignment and rotate tires. When I do need new tires, I am going to Mavis Tires. I highly recommend this company.
I wish I could give zero stars. This is the WORST place to have your car serviced. They will SPANK you with labor. My mother in law brought a car here and was charged $600 to have the brakes and rotors changed on a 2010 Toyota Avalon. I guess it was because shes an older woman and they thought they could get away with it. Anyone who knows anything about cars knows that this is RIDICULOUS. When I called to talk to the manager about WHY it costed that much, he was EXTREMELY RUDE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE. I REPEAT, THEY WILL SCAM YOU. I only wish I could have been in there when she agreed to this cost so I couldve stopped it before it was too late.
Extremely helpful employee named Tyler worked with us. He was very knowledgeable about what we needed. Set up a prompt appointment that worked well for our schedules. Gave us the confidence that our car would be taken care of. Which it was. Only issue with this location is the lack of air conditioning. My husband and I both have health conditions that make make waiting in the the heat of the south a concern for us. Hopefully this will be rectified soon.
Service was outstanding, the guys there know what they are talking about and are very family friendly. I put 2 stars because it was so hot in the building. I personally think this is unacceptable to make customers suffer through the heat. I highly recommend talking with the guys but make sure your dressed for summer, although you may still sweat, I did.... thanks Chris and the rest of you for making my car safe again.
Please don’t take your vehicle to these people. All I wanted was a new set of tires. My car hasn’t been the same since. I took it back and they 1st tried to say it was my car. The car is a 2020 Toyota. This happened in 2020 not even a complete year. My front tires are fried and my car has been shaking since I left this shop. I’m at another mechanic now hoping to get my car back like it was. Also the atmosphere was extremely ghetto.
Super friendly workers! Came in for 4 tire alignments and was out within an hour! Went by fast because of the nice waiting area with wifi, tv, and water. Very satisfied

The guys and girls at Family Tire were on point today. Excellent customer service. Fast turn around time on mounting and balancing of five 35” tires for my Gladiator. I didn’t have my fifth wheel when I originally dropped off my tires to get done. The fifth wheel and tire showed up just as I was leaving to pick up before they had been completed. The guys were nice enough to mount and balance the fifth one while I waited to I wouldn’t have to drive back another day. Have done business with them for over ten years now. Will continue doing business with them for years to come.Thanks again!
CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!Dear Rick,Absolutely the worst service i have ever received from a tire shop. when i brought my car in they said the tires came with a 65,000 mile warranty as well as a free alignment. after i paid i checked the invoice which said i had paid $90 for an alignment and $80 for the tire warranty. i came back in to explain that i had been lied to and the kid at the desk tried to brush me off but after 30 minutes of arguing went to get the guy who lied to me (Rick). Rick went on to tell a BLATANT lie that we had discussed it on the phone which is hilarious.
Always help out in the community, and a bunch of honest mechanics. All my friends and family bring out vehicles here.
Tyler was very professional and went very in depth on the issues following with my car. Only issue I have is the waiting area/office was so hot I had to stand outside most of the time. Other then the AC the service was great.

I brought my truck in there to have my two front tires rebalanced And I specifically told the guy at the front desk named Tyler that I do not need an alignment that I am only going to have my two front tires rebalanced after waiting an hour and a half I asked when they were going to be done and he said that the guy was going to take my truck for a test drive to make sure that the alignment was complete. So then he acted like I never said anything about not needing an alignment and they aligned my truck when I didn’t even need an alignment to begin with. And then they still charged me full price I asked to see a print out of my alignment to see how much they corrected or if they needed to correct anything. When I asked this they told me that the printer was out of ink and that I was not able to see the computer. Which in my opinion was a lie I would definitely not recommend taking my vehicle there if I were you.
I have been coming here for close to 4 years, at first I was kind of skeptical (because i have been places before that seem legit but are tricksters) but now I come here for everything! I absolutely love how you get treated like family here! I am in the waiting area right now and I have only been here for maybe 10 mins, my car is in the back and is being worked on already! They are always fast and have everything together for you with the best prices around! If you need some vehicle maintenance I will suggest to you (like I suggest to everyone I talk to) come to family tire! They will have you ready for a road trip fast!

I couldnt leave zero stars because this business was horrible and we will NEVER take another vehicle to this establishment again! To many complaints to write out so I would appreciate it if someone would contact me back with info on how to speak with you I would greatly appreciate it!!!They had our truck for nearly a year off and on repairing it for the same thing with little tweaks here and there, finally had to get the district manager involved and finally had our vehicle towed for the 4th time to theyre sister business in Morehead where our truck was finally fixed properly within a 2-3 month wait time only because the manager was out with Covid! We paid out nearly $3000 for the 1st 3 visits to this establishment in New Bern because every time we went to pick our truck up they proclaimed it was fixed only to have the same problem on the way home leaving us stranded on the side of highway 70!!! Im throughly disgusted with this business and will NEVER take another vehicle of ours here!!!P. S. Our truck hood wouldnt open after our 2nd visit and one of their employees commented that maybe it takes 2 people to open your hood,,,,,,, Ill leave it at that!!!
We took my Subaru Outback in for an oil change and inspection. As a part of service, they rotated the tires and took a look at all other particulars to make sure I was good to go. Friendly, kept my appointment time, and courteous and knowledgeable. Highly recommend for car service and tires/oil/maintenance in the area! I’ve gone elsewhere and been sorely disappointed...NOT HERE! Great experience and owners and team.
These guys are amazing!!!! I only trust them with my car. No matter what is going with it they explain it in a way I can understand and I can alway count on them to make time to make sure everything is ok. No one can be better then they are when it come to cars and customer service.
Took my car in to have it looked at thought it was something serious Chris said nothings wrong, tires are worn a little and should think about getting new ones but not anytime soon still had a little life. So Chris thanks for looking out for me and my wife and ill be back to get my tires done from you when we get back from vacation.
Ordered new tires for my vehicle two nights before. I drove 30 mins the day of only to find out they don’t have the tires. To add insult to injury I’m given alternatives that are twice the amount I was originally quoted. Manager present at time and offered no assistance. Will not step foot in any Family Tire store again, horrible customer service. A courtesy call would’ve been nice prior to a customer arriving to make them aware of stockage, and definitely not an up charge solution upon arrival. To include the mandate of masks by customers (on sign of entrance door) but no clerical employees to include manager were wearing masks.
I recently noticed my truck bouncing while I was driving about 50MPH and took it to Family Tire and Auto in James City. Tyler greeted me and was polite and friendly. After listening to my concerns (I thought it was a tire out of balance) he told me to give it some time and they will look over it for me. a short time later I was told that it was the rear shocks and was given a quote. The parts were ordered and the repair was scheduled for 3-20-21. I dropped my truck off on the morning of the 20th. A little after lunch I was called and told that my truck was ready. I arrived a short time later to pick up my truck and Tyler offered to show the old shocks. They were rusty and leaking, very unsafe! Thank you Tyler and Family Tire for helping to keep me from getting stranded on the side of the road or worse.
Called about 11am, Friday with mail in non leaking tire. They worked me in with 1:30 pm appointment. Once there, car moved to bay and examined. No problem found with tire in question, however a piece of non damaging wire was removed from other tire. They were efficient, effective and professional. They insisted on no charge for this service, other than to call them with my next tire issue, which I certainly will do.

Dont even bother coming here unless you like not being able to get your own wheels off. Ive broken 3 sockets trying to get one wheel off so far and it took them 3 hours for an alignment and rebalance last time I went. Seriously dont come here unless youre the kind of person who will never work on your own vehicle. Complete garbage this place.
DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!!! I wish there was a rating lower than would I could give here. Horrible shop that should have gone out of business during this COVID pandemic. Brought my vehicle in for an oil change. It was scheduled first thing in the morning. Sat in their shop for 5 hours. Didnt know an oil change took that long. The best part came after leaving that place. Drive two mile (actual distance) and the engines seized up. All the oil came out, not a little, but ALL of the oil came out. No filter or the oil pan plug wasn’t screwed back on was what I said. They said “it was a faulty gasket on the oil filter“. I call BS on that. Even with a faulty gasket and installed correctly, a little oil should have leaked out, not ALL in that short amount of distance. Had to call a tow truck to take it back. Needless to say, they destroyed the engine to my vehicle after a routine oil change and now dragging their feet and trying to get out of covering a new engine. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!!!

Pleased with my tires and with this establishment. Did have an issue, which was discussed with the manager. It was handled promptly and professionally and the issue was resolved to my satisfaction.Edited!! NEVER AGAIN! They are as dishonest as they come. Cost me to get a real tire alignment today, after they supposedly aligned mine with my new tires on 11/20. Called to resolve and they said bring it back for a free re- check. Why in the world would I do that when the first one wasnt done properly or even done at all. Manager wasnt helpful or apologetic. I have the print out of my FAILED front end alignment check done today. My first issue, which was resolved involved a flat out lie which I wont go into. But these were two major issues with this establishment and I would never send anyone there ever!!

My husband & I appreciate the customer service and services this shop provides. We feel like we can trust them, and they do it honestly. I have been there twice, and they are always accommodating (shuttle ride, best waiting area, etc.) and make you feel valued. The owners seem very involved with the day-to-day operations, and their stores professionalism and cleanliness shows it. I also like how if you ask for an estimate, they will gladly provide it to you! My estimate was 100% accurate for a brake rotor and pad replacement. Shout out to Mr. Ray for keeping us informed and taking care of us! We will definitely continue going to this shop! (P.S. The customer service & shop pride is not what it was before. Went into family tire on Sunday morning for a simple job, repair a tire with a nail in it. They couldnt handle it right then and made an appointment for me to come back at 4:00. Upon arrival for my appointment they took me in right on time and went to work returning my vehicle to me quickly. Its warm in the lobby. The ac is currently not working. That was the only complaint that I could register. But I wasnt there long so it was ok with me. Thanks.

Went in for 4 tires, I had a specific brand in mind but they didnt have it and offered me another brand which I looked up and wasnt far off from what I wanted but they costed more and what did they do? Took the price down cheaper than my quote for the other tires not only that I went to colony tire to get an alignment and they said it couldnt be done well these guys got it done and the guy I dealt with Tyler is amazing he worked with me so well to be able to have the alignment done that fit in my budget, I will always come back to this location, these guys went so above and beyond any customer service I have seen in a long time if ever. You just dont find people that care anymore but these guys do.

Brought my Honday Odyssey in for an oil change, tire rotation, and to have the fluids checked. Left with NO Oil Cap on my engine and oil leaking on my garage floor. Brought it back to have to checked again and they cant find my oil cap.Follow up: I was supposed to get a refund for my service and they have yet to do so or call me back.

I am no longer a loyal customer to Family Tire in this location.I am an experienced mechanic myself, though when maintenance needs to happen and Im not around, or the work is outside my skill level I will search for other means of repair. For years I and my family have relied on Family Tire for tires and brake service outside my scope of skill on all of my vehicles. I had moved back into the area and run into an issue where I needed tires, alignment, and a repair to the parking break.On the day the maintenance was scheduled to be conducted on my dually f350 (rear tires only), I had been called when the maintenance started, though was only informed that the break job I had requested needed more time to conduct. I challenged the time that was estimated though gave approval for the maintenance. An entire day of maintenance had elapsed and I had not received a call so I had assumed all was going well, but I made a call for a status check. They had informed me at that point they already had the tires changed and were in process of the alignment, but did not do the break work I had requested because they didnt have a special tool. As irritated as I was about the issue I didnt object about the alignment since they already had conducted the work to that point.By the end of my work day, they had finally called me that my truck was ready for pick up. Upon my arrival and once an associate was available, I had expressed that I wanted to speak with the technician and the manager. He had informed me that he was the manager, so I had stated again that I also wanted to briefly speak with the technician. The manager ignored my request and immediately became defensive. I will give it to him; I do appreciate the fact he will back up his technicians, though I just wanted to ask the tech a few questions directly with the manager present and allow him to get back to work. So I began to question him and all he could give was excuses and began to give me a run around. For the first call, the associates called my wife then myself. Both her and I distinctly remember them saying it would only take longer to conduct the maintenance and not that they couldnt do it because they didnt have the tool. Instead they pushed through the maintenance till the end result.In this instance the specialty tool is a special spanner socket ford has used on all of their 3/4 and 1 ton trucks rear axles since 1988. I own this tool and know what it takes to take that axle apart. If I wouldve known about the issue in the first place, I wouldve only bought the tires and done all of the work myself. I brought the truck to them for that brake, all the other maintenance was subsequent to that.**This is an edit to my previous post**After completing my previous post, I had screened through other reviews of this location and I see similarities for customer service and maintenance. Being alarmed as to what I found, I checked the torque on my rear wheel lugs, discovered 2 lugs not torqued to spec on the right side and all lugs only snug on the left side. Considerable safety concerns. If I was able, I would mark no stars for this location. This is not the same company we knew before.

Very bad experience on March 2nd 2021 Made an appointment by phone a week ago. I.checked in. Didnt even have me down for the appointment. Still did what I requested, considering I was there a year ago with work done and not in the computer. How not organized., very disappointed will not go there again.

Chris was a breath of fresh air to deal with. I was on a road trip from illinois to north Carolina and had numerous truck troubles and to top it off i had a valve stem blow. Chris and his team took care of the stem replacement in a timely manner as they knew i was traveling on the road. I wish i had these guys up near where i live. Truly a great business to deal with.
I combed here for every thing and Ive only had trouble with their time frame for appointment its not consistent Ive had a number of times they have canceled my appointment for oil changes actually still waiting but all in no ones perfect they do their best and they correct whats wrong when informed im in Construction field and its not always easy do keep doing what youre doing ladies and gents.

The absolute worst, everytime I go here something happens, its always a hour wait even with an appointment. Customer service is non existent. I scheduled an appointment for 2 oclock today, just got there and they said it would not be until tomorrow before I got my truck back, and just for an oil change. Seriously? Guess I will be traveling all the way to Morehead from now on. Would not give them any stars if it was an option. I planned my whole day around this, frustrating to say the least, thanks for wasting my time

Update on customer service and this location.First, this Family Tire & Auto Service is now owned and operated by Mavis Tires. Or Mavis discount tires which ever one it is. The website is Mavistires.com though.Second, I ordered and had my tires shipped from Amazon, which only took a day to arrive. However when I scheduled my appointment to come in, I was informed that my tires had been sold. Which wasn’t a problem cause they just ordered me two more tires as they should of for no further cost.I called ahead for my appointment at 2pm to ensure my tires had been delivered for the day that they gave me which they were. I arrived 15 mins late but had called ahead to inform them. However, after arrival I still waited an 1hr 1/2 for my car just to be taken back into a bay. It almost took 3 hours just to balance and install two tires.Lastly, I just received a follow up phone call for my customer review that I posted. I informed them why and the reasons. Just for the lady to tell me that they didn’t have to buy me two new tires that they sold of mine that I had already paid for, and that she had no proof of the order or tires even being shipped there in the first place due to different ownership at the time. Well I’m sorry lady, that’s not my problems that’s your all’s in the first place for lack of accountability and not tracking your inventory correctly. I paid for my tires and have proof. I love that she had the decency to tell me to never come back there cause I won’t be and I recommend others not to as well.
Black’s was recommended to us when we needed new tires for my wife’s car and I have never been more pleased. From getting a quote to dropping the vehicle off to picking it back they were amazing in every way. Quick and efficient. Use this place, you will not be disappointed.
I love coming here I got a oil changed last year and had a great experience and come back to get brand new tires had a great experience again price was perfect wait time wasnt too long. Since my first oil change I have gone back over and over I wont go any where else. The prices and customer service are outta this world 🖤
The building itself is nice, but look beyond that and youll be severely disappointed. They will rip you off, not giving you the prices you are quoted. They have no leniency for discounts and the employees who work there couldnt give any care in the world for you. They just want money, and are no help to customers. They have absolutely lost a customer here, and I will not be recommending this location to anyone ever again.
I came to this shop 6/10. I came in, was greeted, told the man the issue I was having with my car (a shaky tire) and he took my keys. Almost two hours later he comes to me and says that I need new brakes. I told him I just changed my breaks. And he told me they were 80% worn down and they need to be replaced. Nothing else. I then asked about the fact my tire was shaking, he said they would check the balance.I then got up to walk around so I could pay and he told me about ten more minutes because they were putting the tires on. I said OK. I walk further into the lobby to see my car was in the lot. But I didnt say anything. I waited 15 more minutes and a mechanic handed him some keys. He then calls me the wrong name and says, the Toyota camry.I told him no, that the avalon, the Toyota avalon was mine.He looked puzzled reached behind him where there were other folders and took out mine. I asked him how much and he said free of charge because of your wait. I was like cool. I get on the road AND MY TIRE WAS STILL SHAKING!I then went to another auto shop where not only did they tell me what was going on but showed me as well. The young man at this shop said he would balance my tires to see if that helps but if not to come back. I said OK. After getting my car from them, no issues. Driving perfectly. With that said:1) you didnt know which car was mine2) you didnt even check my carI will never be coming back here nor would I recommend this place. You guys wasted my time and showed you clearly didnt care about my business as a customer.If I could give you negative stars I would.

I ordered a set of new tire through Amazon and was able to purchase the install as well. The price was cheaper than other places charge to mount and balance tires. I was able to have the tire sent directly to the shop and schedule online for a Saturday morning. I was given a 3 hour window to show up.I showed up just as they were opening at 8 am. Chris was very friendly and was very professional. He even took my son to watch a tire being taken off the wheel. He interacted with him and explained the process to him.I have read many reviews that say they take a long time to do work. If you want quick, go to Wal Mart. I had rather for them to take there time and do it correctly than to rush it out the door and it be wrong. Also, Wal Mart never touches any of my vehicles based on past experiences.The work took about an hour. While waiting, I heard Chris speaking to other customers about their vehicles. He spoke TO them, not down to them. He explained things to where they could be understood to people that do not know about cars.I just recently moved to the area and I am impressed with this tire shop.Everyone is different and we all have different experiences. This was my experience. I hope yours will be as positive as mine.
First and last time going to this tire shop as they were relatively nearby and open on Sunday, and before I left to go there I called ahead to ask about a ZR rated tire I needed installed on my car to match the other ones I already had, the shop said it was available and charged me for the tire as stated on my receipt. A regular tire was installed, and when I called to see if this issue could be resolved by the manager, Chris, I was met with nothing but bad attitude and excuses from both the manager and another employee. I wholely recommend going almost anywhere else to buy your tires, even if it means walking there, because as soon as they get your money, you dont matter.
Service was fast, staff was courteous. Ownership has changed recently, so with changes come headaches sometimes. Quality of service still great and reasonable prices. I remain a loyal customer of local businesses despite changes.
I love that they do more than just tires!!! Its a one stop shop for all my car needs! The staff was absolutely wonderful! I told them what I needed and they were willing and ready to do it. When they realized I had a tire about to blow though, they showed me and gave me options to change my course of action and even offered a payment plan! Great customer service and great work!! I will definitely be going back for my next oil change!
I had never been to Family tire until today. Holly was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. She certainty went out of her way to help me. The service tech did an excellent job on my vehicle. I was pleased with the work preformed and will return for more work to be done. I will recommend Family Tire to my family and friends. Thank you for a job well done.
By far the most I have ever been disgusted as a customer. As a fellow local business owner, it is extremely disappointing to see this much effort into taking advantage of their customers. Over charged me by double, didnt complete the service. When addressed and brought to managers attention, and I use that term usually simply based off the hostility and unprofessionalism that he portray. You are disservice to our community.
I am always pleased with Family Tires service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the headlight restoration they offer. The headlights on my Jeep were so glazed-over I didnt think anything could clean them. I was truly amazed at the performance of their product, as my headlights now look brand new! I was even given use of a loaner vehicle to take care of personal business while they took care of the maintenance on my Jeep. Their courtesy and professionalism is top notch! 5 STARS!
Family Tire is an excellent example of hometown customer service. I am always treated with respect and courtesy. Repairs are reasonably priced and explained to me in a manner that does not insult my intelligence nor wound my pocketbook. The rocking chairs in the waiting area are probably the most comfortable seats in town. Fair, honest, reasonably priced, they are my go-to spot for all my Automotive Service needs.
Outstanding service! Take my car to the New Bern location monthly, for oil changes and other services. My job requires a great deal of travel. Takes a toll on my car. The customer service team is stellar! ALWAYS polite, courteous, knowledgeable and competent. They do whatever they can to resolve any/all issues, immediately. I cannot say enough about the customer service!!!

Had a flat tire on way home from vacation. We were in and out in an hour with two new tires. Courteous, friendly and efficient. Was pleasantly surprised by the bill, no price gouging here. They had a very comfortable waiting room with living room furniture, a TV, computer, child’s table and activities, and complimentary water and soda. Highly recommended.
Would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Since the local family sold out to the company in New York, the service has gone to Sh#$%#!!.One of the worse tire buying/installation experiences my life!Update: the tires lasted 9 months: see pictures (attached)
Family Tire repaired my tire when another location refused so they could try to sell me a tire. The employees are extremely helpful and polite. I was helped with coupons and discounts, and given good advice about whether or not I needed additional services. Family Tire is honest and will not try to sell you something you do not need. By far my best experience at an auto repair shop.
Had a great experience. Went in for a state inspection their turn around was about 15 min . I had 2 things that needed to be fixed to pass inspection. 1 they did immediately. The other, they ordered the part it came in the next day and they got me right in amd had it installed, inspected again to pass and on my way very quickly. They were very helpful and honest and had great price . Will return again when I need maintenance done on that vehicl .

Spectacular service. I ordered some tires here on one of my visits and the salesman ended up calling me later that day because he found me a better deal.They have fruit, bottled water and candy in the waiting area. There is a charging station if you need to recharge your phone or tablet with both Android and Apple ports.They offer free tire rotation with purchase of tires.My only complaint is that their parking lot is a little tight.Oh, and I ordered a new tire and it was delivered and ready to be installed the next day.
Not impressed. They were very frustrating to deal with. They were either really nice, or really frustrating. Some of the people have a attitude problem that needs to be checked. Larry and the dark haired girl whose name starts with a H were really nice. Heather? Helen? I dont remember. They were both great on the phone and in person. Otherwise, I wasnt very impressed with the work or the prices. Not to mention when I had issues with their work, they blamed me. Im not stupid, it wasnt me. I also know a friend who had a bad experience here, they scratch up his wheels when mounting tires. It sucks because I always recommended this place and Ive been here a few times. At first my experience here was great, albeit pricey, but it quickly became frustrating. Theyre not really worth it, Ill just go somewhere else or do the work myself.
This was my first time at this Family Tire ocation and it was a good experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and the best part is, they are not pushy. They present you with options and let you chose. I recommend this location to anyone looking to get new tires on their vehicle.
Driving in Tennessee mountains caused a wicked shimmy in my RoadTrek camper so I returned to Family where I have the camper serviced. They were prompt getting me in and the technician showed me exactly what was wrong with the brakes causing the shimmy. Since I had a trip planned, they offered to fix it that day and even gave me a ride home. I was so impressed with Tim, the technician. No one ever took the time to show me a problem and he was so courteous and knowledgeable. Really impressive.I am 73 years old and people rarely make eye contact, let alone treat me with such respect! I’ll be back. Thank you Tim and Family Tire!

My visits at Family Tire are usually pleasant. The counter staff are always polite but I dont think all are too car savvy. Appreciate the free courtesy checks & the fact that they arent pushy like the dealer with mileage recommended services. I will continue to bring my vehicles to them!
Not what it once was since it was bought out by an 800 store chain. Service is ok. Bleak inside. As soon as the store sold...the new company took out all the amenities that made it a family experience. Honestly...Id consider some place else, if I didnt have lifetime alignment for my car. They dont offer lifetime alignment...I purchased that from the previous owners. However...they do honor it.
Stopped in for a tire patch. I was helped right away but probably took about 30 minutes until they got my car in. The patch process was quick. They didnt try to sell me anything other than let me know my front tires are worn. Nice place, would recommend.
I recently purchased a vehicle from a gentleman; which was routinely serviced at Family Tire. There were a stack of receipts that documented everything that had been done. The owner told me that whatever Family Tire told him it needed, he did. He even told me that he had a credit card which was through Family Tire and that he actually acquired a chunk of debt from maintaining the vehicle. When I first looked at the vehicle, the owner told me that the car was AS IS. The check engine light was on and there was a so called grinding noise. Family Tire diagnosed this as a transmission issue and that it was on its last leg. The owner couldnt justify sinking any more money into this vehicle to replace the transmission as the quote was over $2,000. I had a spare parts car so this wasnt an issue for me. I test drove the car and heard a slight grinding/rattle when the transmission shifted and I decided to purchase the vehicle as is. This was the first time the car was driven since leaving FT. Immediately after purchasing the vehicle, I placed it on the lift and immediately (within 30 seconds) determined that the grinding noise was nothing but a rusty heat shield on the exhaust system, that was no longer secure. Since then I have driven 15k miles in the last 6 months. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the transmission that Family Tire misdiagnosed and attempted to sell this individual. If this gentleman would have said yes, go ahead and do it; they would have. ALWAYS get a second opinion or price quote.
There is a reason they are called Family Tire. They really do treat you like family. They always go above and beyond. Friendly, helpful and always accommodating. They have a very nice waiting room with computer access, tv, coffee, fresh fruit, and sometimes the owner herself is serving fresh baked cookies. When they work on my vehicle they treat it like their own and they make suggestions and anticipate future servicing. Love my Family Tire.
I have been using Family Tire each time I have been stationed at Cherry Point. I have always been extremely satisfied with their work. The front desk staff is always professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend.

Very good and knowledgeable staff Phil at the front desk was great and a pleasure to work with. If back in the area and needed tires or work done it would be there. I am from Gainesville Florida.
We recently needed new brakes and tires for my vehicle. Upon calling and getting a quote no other service was suggested. We got the vehicle back and the brand new brakes seemed to be catching on something causing the car to shake. We gave it a few weeks to ensure it wasnt something that needed to be broken in and then called back to get an appointment to see what was wrong. At this new appointment they said the rotors were bad (all 4 of them) and this was causing our issue. The service manager, Tim, was disrespectful and claimed that they would never not suggest new brakes without rotors. This was not the case. They never mentioned we needed rotors. There was no call during the service appointment or anything suggesting there should be an issue. Also, every other place we have contacted has stated that usually brakes and rotors would need to be changed around the same time. The Toyota dealership even suggested this was done on purpose so we would have to come in again and pay more. This is outrageous. Again Family Tire never mentioned this to us and never gave us a quote including Rotors. I feel we were misled and that Family Tire has not had the decency to own up to the mistake they made by not suggesting this in the first place. You have lost our business and should be ashamed of how you treat honest people just looking to maintain their vehicles.
Family tire is never disappointing. Phillip and his staff are professionals yet have a fun/friendly sense of humor.Always happy with their service.
I had a front end alignment done at Family Tire of New Bern and was very pleased with the diagnostics that were done and explained. Our Highlander rides great now and we are saving on the wear of our tires. Price was excellent and the service was good quality and timely. Thanks Guys, Herb Martin
