This place is always giving me the run around. You make an appointment for a certain time so you dont have to sit and wait and literally its always more than an hour. If its not one thing is another with these people.
I went and got a general inspection and they told me I needed new brakes and new tires (an $1800 price tag!). I then brought it to another shop and they told me I had another year on the brakes and another 6 months on the tires and would only need to replace two tires! I’m thankful I got another opinion. I would be careful about what they say needs to be done.

This is one of the most worst places i have ever took my car to have work done .I dropped my car off Saturday July 31 2021at 9 oclock am to have work done something told me to call I called at 2pm and my car was not done but what I do know is they looked at my head lights that what I wanted done .when I got in my car I noticed the lights were on so they did look at them and didnt want to do the job. Man give me my dam keys

Came here for emissions test. I asked how long it will take and the girl told me it will 20-30 mins as there is no one before me. Apparently they forgot about it. I asked after 40mins and found out they havent even started on mine. The girl rudely told me their technician got called out and only specific people could do the test but now she will have another guy do it for me. How can other guy do it if only specific people can do it? And why this other person couldnt do it if anyone can do it. It took another 20mins for them to get this done. So overall took more than an hour for emissions test because they casually forgot I had come in for that. I believe they dont care about their emission testing customers as its not too much profit.
Way Way overpriced. I knew what the problem was already. I just asked them to put a new brake line on. They charge $140 for a 1 hour of labor. Then $90 for a 2-foot brake line that I said was the problem. After all, was said and done it was a total of $318 for parts and labor. When I could have bought the part for 40 and done it myself. I also live right across the street and watch my car sit on the lift for 2 hours not being worked on. The brake hose is literally 2 bolts to take off. Should have only taken 30 min. Watch out for this place.
All my cars tires are purchased at Firestone, with warranty and I pay a certain fee for unlimited alignment for the life of the tires and they are great. Always satisfied. Ive referred many people and they are happy with Firestone in New Haven, Chapel St. Good location near downtown.
I initially left a positive review, but after a few days I noticed that the work I requested had not been done. Came in for an alignment and rotation, did not receive an alignment printout as stated on the website, and my tires were not rotated. I had to take time off work to come back again and actually get the work done for real. Polite and quick service, however, the job should be done right the first time.
11-Dec-2019: I was sold a lifetime wheel alignment service while dropping off my vehicle to install new set of tires. When picking the vehicle back up, I asked for readings from the alignment check. I was told that the printer was faulty and it didnt print. I was also told no one is allowed inside the shop for safety reasons, hence I wouldnt be permitted to go in and observe while the check is being performed. Didnt buy the story, but I let it slide.20-Mar-2021: Dropped same vehicle off for emissions test and wheel alignment. I explicitly made a request that I be given the alignment readings. Mysteriously, the printer was still out of order, however I was promised theyd take pictures and provide the readings when I come to pick up the vehicle. Later the same day, I go to pick up the vehicle. No alignment readings! The excuse this time was that because of COVID, theyre trying to be paperless (said the gentleman as he was handing me paperwork for the emissions test, receipt and recommended services by Firestone). When I insisted on getting the readings, I was told to schedule an appointment and visit again, upon which Id be allowed to enter and observe.At this point, I am not buying any of the excuses. There is no evidence of any alignment check or adjustment having been performed, since there was no palpable alignment issues while driving to begin with. It just feels like a scam to sell services and never perform them. I hope and look forward to Firestone addressing this, without causing any further inconvenience.
WILL RIP YOU OFF, FIND A LOCAL HONEST MECHANIC INSTEAD!! Went there with issues of my car not starting and they run tests to say the battery is good and that the starter needs to be replaced. Paid $550 for this. Next morning, car still didn’t start. I go somewhere else and all I needed was for my battery to be recharged. Firestone should have charged or replaced my battery I got from them and I should have walked out without paying a dime. Instead they lied and made me use my hard earned money. Don’t waste your time or money here. Dishonest business!! Now they are gonna reply to your comment like they actually care when you leave a bad review.

You would think a tire place would be able to get all 4 tires the same pressure. Mine arent even close they range from 35-45! Its the second time this has happened how can you sell tires and not know how to check the pressure?
I went to Firestone today because I had an appointment for 1:00 p.m. I got there at 12:55 p.m. go to check in the girl at the desk said that my appointment was for yesterday I had the confirmation email stating that my appointment was for today Wednesday September the 8th at 1:00 p.m. I showed the confirmation email to her and the guy she proceeded to say that my appointment was for yesterday the guy said that he could squeeze me in but it would take an hour and a half the girl had a nasty attitude when I showed her my confirmation email I will never go back to this Firestone
Open on Sunday called and they had the tire I needed. No trying to upsell or bait and switch.
My husband and I have been taking our car to Firestone for 2 years and we are extremely dedicated customers. The staff are always extremely friendly and go out of their way to ensure we have a good experience. Their advice is trustworthy. They are sensitive to the financial implications for repairs. I have always felt welcome in the store. They greet me by name and explain things in a way I can understand. Austin James has done an amazing job with our vehicle and goes above and beyond what I have ever experienced with a car shop. I highly recommend him and his team for all your car maintenance needs! They broke my wheel lug bolt and asked me to pay for it. Its quite long time ago. I got a flat tire and went the shop to check for the leak. Surprisingly, after a while, their technician told me that one of the lug bolt was broken when he tried to remove the tire? What? I was thinking. And he blamed me for this, that I didnt tight the lug bolt correctly when I changed the spare tire. Then they charged me over a hundred dollars for replacing this bolt, which is not my fault obviously. I didnt accept that suggestion and just left. Cause I dont trust them any more. I would say its not that hard to remove a tire without breaking the lug bolt, as I have done it many times by myself...
Took 3 hours to get two tire patches and an inspection done. The man working on my car was really nice, but told me he couldnt find an air leak in the tires but I still got charged for the patches. Not sure if they did it or not? Overall the experience was good but the wait was really longEDIT: The manager called me and told me that they sealed the rim to the tire, but the tire itself was fine. I was very happy with that info and the price was fine for the work they did. But other than that the wait was still very long.
Dont go there. They are very dismissive, borderline rude, and they dont care to help at all. They also denied to provide me with a copy of my emissions test. According to the CT Emissions website they are required to provide you with one free copy but they refused to do so even after I reminded them of this.
I went here for a wheel alignment and tire rotation. I also had them check out a very slow leak on one of my tires. They told me that the slow leak was caused by a nail in the tire in the sidewall, which meant it needed to be replaced, not only that, they told me my second rear tire also had a nail in its sidewall. I was fairly annoyed as my tires were brand new.I go home, and thoroughly inspect my tires to see if I can find a nail, I cannot. I bring my car to a highly reviewed repair shop in New Haven, who reported that they found no such nails in my sidewalls, and no problem with my tires at all. Just to be sure, I brought my car to a Town Fair Tire, where I bought the tires, who also reported that my tires were fine.In conclusion, this shop is dishonest and I would highly recommend you go somewhere else, unless you like giving your money away.
First off -I dont normally write bad reviews. I figure it couldve been a fluke, could be one bad apple or a million other things. However, I felt compelled to write a review for this one. Came in with a tire that was nearly flat. Before looking at the tire I was priced 299.00 for a new one for my Subaru Crosstrek. For any women who are thinking of going to this place alone - dont. I put some air in my tire and drove to Town Fair Tire in Branford. The price, with installation and tax included, came to 175.00. People, never bring your business here. They dont deserve it and will rob you.

I’m not from this town, had an unlucky situation and got a flat tire on the DRIVERS SIDE FRONT TIRE, while on the highway. got my car towed to the nearest location. I called at 7:05am to get the process going, an employee named Austin told me they’re gonna take a look and it will be resolved. By 10:45am I call to see how the process is going, they then told me I’ll be needing two tires and not just the one since there was another tire that would be needing fixing soon but it’s obviously not necessary now, so I simply asked for the one. They said they’ll be needing to order it since they didn’t have my exact tire in stock. I said okay what would the time frame be because I had company with me when I got the flat, Cody, an employee then tells me 1-2pm. I then head down to get my car but got a call and missed it stating they ordered the wrong size tire and I will now have to wait until 2:30 to get the new one. And that’s not even the best part yet. I was beyond thankful they didn’t charge me any labor so I only paid for the tire which was very accommodating. But I then drive home, everything’s good but my car is quite shaky even at 60mph. By 6pm i leave my house, to find the tire alarm ringing about a flat, so I then get out and my drivers side tire is fine, go around the car to find my passenger side tire is now flat and my father found a nail in it. I’m not sure if they ordered a new tire, popped that and rotated it but even the scratched, rigged rim from the flat tire on my drivers side was on the passenger side which confused me for sure. My passenger side tire also had no cap on it so I blow it up to see if that was the problem my alarm goes off and now I’m happy again. 1:00pm the next day i wake up and notice the passenger side tire is now flat AGAIN. So what did I pay $206 for? Did you guys rotate the tires? Did you plug the old one and place it on my passenger side? EITHER WAY I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED THIS KIND OF SERVICE AND I ACTUALLY GO TO THE FIRESTONE IN MY TOWN AND I LOVE IT. It was obviously the employees at this location, I definitely will next time get a receipt for the time my tire order was put in for order after I called 5 minutes after opening. There’s no reason I had to wait until 2:54pm to get ONE TIRE PATCHED AND PUT BACK ON!!!! YOU GUYS NEED TO DO BETTER. There were plenty of them sitting around and laughing as well, and don’t get me wrong, definitely have fun on the job but not ONE CAR WAS BEING WORKED ON WHEN MY AND 3 OTHER PASSENGERS PULLED IN.
Called them up because I was unsure if they changed light bulbs for blinkers. The worker I spoke to, Austin, was super nice and went above and beyond for me. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for car repair!

Quick and easy. Only issue I had was I was quoted one price over the phone and then charged $7 more when I got there. That annoyed me a little bit I got over it quick because the service was quick and the customer service was awesome!

I called at 11 in the morning to put on new brakes and a oil change, they told me to bring it in they can get it done right away I got there in ten minutes when I get there I was told it will take about 2 hours they call me for hours later asking me if I can leave it overnight I told them no when I come to pick up my car all mechanics are dacing and talking by a radio while no cars currently there are being serviced,on top of all that took the cashier 20 minutes to cash me out just for the oil change
They literally opened up my brake lines to end up telling me I need new calipers.. I could hardly even drive home cause the brake fluid was out and they quoted me $800.. I’d much rather go somewhere else or do it myself but with the brake lines opened by them I had no brake fluid left and risked my life driving home.. Thanks Firestone New Haven!! I recommend Firestone for oil changes and very basic maintenence only. I took my vehicle in because my check engine light was on. They said the diagnostic would be 100 dollars (they spent thirty minutes with it). Afterward, the charge was 106.99 plus taxes (apparently they used parts for this), which should have been mentioned when I explicitly asked for a quote for the diagnostic.I also had brought my vehicle in for an oil change a couple weeks prior, indicating they didnt need to do a basic inspection. They wasted their time and mine with it anyway (tire recommendations that I already had).Afterward, they quoted over 600 dollars to replace a thermostat with added recommendations that would nearly cause my car to be labeled a total loss (when it is still running great!). I declined and asked for a printout of their recommendations. The print out and verbal quotes were discrepant. I will never stay loyal to a company that does this.

Nice employees, but I would never trust them with your vehicle. I was in a rush and didn’t have time to take care of the work myself so I brought a car in for a four wheel alignment. After the job, the car still out of recommended alignment specs in the camber, exactly the same as before. They removed front tires during job. I had given them lug-nut key. As I was driving home I realized they hadn’t put the key back in the car so I had to drive back and get it. After getting the key back I drove back home and felt the car vibrating. Turns out they didn’t tighten the lug nuts on one of the front wheels and it was shifting. I pulled over and tightened the lug- nuts. So I wasted couple hours, out eighty bucks, will end up doing the job myself, had a loose wheel driving home. Not a one star because the employees were polite and professional, but I would definitely recommend a different shop. Town fair tire does 4 wheel alignments for $75. Never had an issue. Also had better luck with Tripp’s service center and Over the Edge Automotive for more general work.

Great service and very friendly staff. I came in on two occasions and I missed a time deadline for the first time but the staff member was very informative and apologetic about the laws in place for the emissions service time cut off. The second time, the phone lines were busy so I had to wait a for a few extra minutes but again, the staff were very apologetic and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. The service was quick and efficient and they were extra attentive and helpful for another problem I was experiencing with my vehicle. They also have some nice specials for Black Friday and cyber Monday.
I bring my car in for basic maintenance and wheel alignment .Theyre great for this!But repairs are crazy expensive. My mechanic does it for half their price. I wish they were more reasonable. Id do everything there if they were.
I came in on a random Tuesday and had to wait for about a half-hour, just to be told that Id have to wait for another hour to do my emissions test.Witnessed a rude customer/CSR while I waited (customer eventually ended up having to pay less for services rendered).There were only a couple other people there besides me and the aforementioned disgruntled customer, but everything seemingly went in slow motion in there.Anyway I left annoyed and went to a place a few miles away, where they had me in and out in 20 minutes.
I’ll start by saying that I do not normally trust mechanics to work on my vehicles. For years I have always performed my own work, that was until I met Dave W. Dave has always made my experiences at Firestone excellent, he is appreciative of my time and my business. Dave always makes sure that I have the best service and addresses all of my concerns. He has recently moved to this location and will gladly make the extra trip to this location for that level of service. Dave had Ray take a look at my fiancé’s Subaru Crosstrek and was immediately able to identify the vibration issues she was having. I am extremely pleased with his work and will be recommending all family and friends visit this location!
Friendly and helpful staff. Im new to CT and only went in for a VIN# verification and was told it would take 20-30 minutes. An hour later it was finally finished and they comped the entire thing. Thats good customer service. Ill be back when I need new tires.

This place epitomizes all the negative aspects of the modern auto repair chain. Numerous visits have been have all gone the same way: leave the car for all of the day, only to get a call just before closing letting me know that some unwritten policy means they cant do the job they had agreed to do. This is usually followed by an upsell of an expensive and unnecessary item.I wont be returning.
Called on Monday to make an appointment for an em missions test, they told me their system was down to call back the next day and I can’t make an appointment. Called back, they told me it was up, walk in only. Come in today, they tell me they don’t do emissions testing anymore. Manager was rude.

They told me that their september discount would apply to the services I wanted. At the end, they wouldnt apply it and were rude when I asked why.
Now in your chapel street, you have to stop working because the employee who is there does not speak to the customer, which oil we are putting in your car, he gives oil pulses from his heart here, just take the doller from the customer. I always put syinthik oil in my car, but on this Sunday I went to change the oil, I gave plain oil pulses without my permission and said that after 5000 mil to change the oil, thus calling it again and again The only thing to do is to take a dooler and here the staaf is in the phone, and somehow the customer is waiting to wait. I am telling everyone that I should go to the firestone
Terrible experience. Dont ever go there. If you happen to have a problem they dont take responsibility and youll have to pay yourself for any damage they caused. They broke my car and it cost me $450 to fix it somewhere else. Robbers.This is what happened:I took my car for an oil change and checkup. The next day I had no brakes. I went back to Firestone to tell them about the problem in the hope they would fix it (they had said that the breaks were fine the day before and I had never had a problem before!). They told me it had nothing to do with them since they only did a visual inspection of the breaks.I had to take my car somewhere else and was told the break liquid pump was broken. Then, when we saw that the break liquid tanks lid was loose and there was no liquid we realized what happened. The guys at Firestone left the lid loose, the liquid went out and I drove on an empty tank. The pump worked with no liquid until it broke. It cost me $450 to fix it.

I have been coming to this Firestone for years and always great service. This last time I sat there for 2 hours and Thought they were working on my car. Someone finally came out and said he had been working on getting parts all that time. Have they changed Management at this place since last December? I had to leave I was so ANNOYED,

I’m never going back here again, even though its an easy walk to my office. This week is the second time my car wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be. This time they were supposed to do scheduled maintenance and could only manage an oil change in 7 hours! No phone call or anything
I appreciate them fitting me in last minute. But they missed an obvious issue with my wheel. The back wheel was making a terrible noise during rotation when I took it in. I was worried about a wheel bearing or seized caliper. They put it on lift (but did not drive it around the block) and came back with needed new tires. I looked at it the next day during light, and it turned out to just be loose lug nuts on the wheel that I mentioned was likely the culprit. Which suggests they didnt even really look at that wheel. It clearly wasnt a thorough check, or even a superficial one at that. Just spinning that wheel on the lift would have revealed the issue easily (which is what I did the next day in daylight after I jacked it up). Pretty disappointing.

I think these out know what theyre doing at! I wont be going to this location anymore! Nothing get done properly here, they lie about what need to be done on your car, I dont trust this location anymore with both of my cars! They cost me unnecessary money!

I finally went to this Firestone after going to 2 other repair shops for my car. After the shops both stated they had repaired my car, it was still blowing smoke and having issues. Finally I took it to this shop, Ryan helped me at the desk. He was super knowledgeable and assured me throughout the whole process that they will find the issues and fix them. I kid you not, they found out it was the caliper and routers that needed to be fixed and did it within 2 days!!! I had gone without my car for weeks, and was completetly surprised at how effecient and fast they were not only at diagnosing but at repairing!! Will definitely be back for ALL my auto needs.
Had my car battery changed here few years ago. Within 2 weeks, my car couldnt restart because the battery went dead again. Had to take it to another shop in NJ where I had the battery changed again, and havent had the same problem since.
They got me in and out in a reasonable time frame.

This is the worst shop I have ever been to! They tried to get me to buy all four tires for my car when I had one flat. They told me the the threading is not good on all four and wont survive the winter when I had installed two new tires a month before from certified dealer. Clearly they wanted to get more money out of me.

First off Kayla thank you so so much for your smile and Great customer service for my first time with my car as far as I remember coming to firestone - I was having battery issues the service was quick less time then I thought - Advance auto said battery was ok and it could be my alternator for 30 bucks Firestone does a complete check of battery and alternator - also I needed a belt forgot the name a alignment and axles - and a battery - my battery is under warranty from Sams clubs in west haven which closed so I have to drive way to Berlin tnpke to the Walmart to honer my warranty - I will trust Firestone’s diagnostics as I drive 40 mins to get a battery replaced - At first I came to get car and was handed key like the car is out back the battery dead - I said I didn’t bring it in that way - like How can they leave my car dead after I walked blocks in the hot sun to get it / They couldn’t jump it -A guy comes out and sees I’m upset I let him know I doing a review and it won’t be good - He calm me down and I listened and learned he was the manager - I apreciate that he took time to explain and clear up the miscommunication and changed my perception - He gave me recommendationsOn what repairs to do 1st once I save up the money - even offered to email what they diagnosed - I was going give a 1 I moved up to5 stars thanks Ryan and Kayla I thank you both for your great attentive customer service and turning my perception around .yall Didn’t know this was the 3rd firestone I was at in 2 days - Trying to resolve this issue -Milford and West Haven sawmill rd was to busy to see me and said I had to schedule to come in - I called y’all and y’all took me as you said on phone so thank you - so much - You guys really work hard and it should not go unnoticed
