Great food, variety and reasonable prices. Have prepackaged, fresh, grab and go and will make fresh hot and cold items to order. Big produce section. Big cheese section. Nice bakery section. Large number of dairy choices (e.g. ~ 5 different brands of milk pints). Can by large packs or single items. Nice staff. Overall: I was impressed and would go back often.

In fact, we always appreciate them. SoSad but won’t return there again!

Not sure how I was unaware that downtown New Haven had this whole market but it’s nicccceee! Very clean and beautiful like it’s a whole market lol! I didn’t get pictures as I just went in for a quick bite but they have everything! I will try and go back! I grabbed a Chicken Caesar wrap and asked the kitchen for some dressing. They gave me a to go cup with a lid. Not sure if it was the wrap or the dressing(or both) but it was delicious! Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Ive noticed this building for months and I finally had time to check it out. This is honestly one of the most amazing markets Ive shopped at. First, its beautiful and spotless. Theres so much to choose from, pretty much all organic. I was thoroughly impressed. Very helpful staff, friendly patrons. Nice little cafeteria area. Coffee and tea station (they have blue agave nectar). Such a health conscious environment!

A great market but ☠️DONT BUY BAKED DESSERTS☠️Aside from the usual, theres a lot of excellent cheese and some interesting pâté type stuff. The place is really nicely laid out and lit, and the staff are very helpful.Sadly, the Red Velvet Cake ($4.99) and Vegan Blueberry Bar ($8.99) were downright inedible. I choked down about half the cake in a fit of desperation, but it was over-sweet, under-flavored and had the mouthfeel of old carpet. The blueberry bar was nowhere near as good as the cake: I figure they put in three times as much baking soda as the recipe called for, and took it out of the oven before it was half cooked. That one we threw away 80%. We are not hard to please: we have a restaurant with top-notch desserts, but we also gobble down StopnShop turnovers and Entenmanns donuts with enthusiasm. Trust us, these items were awful.

Love to gather here for informal, sometimes formal meetings and enjoy the markers ambience as well. You can depend on locally sourced foods and the options of having a nice cup of Joe and a well balanced organic breakfast served as well. I just purchased 2 dairy free coffee creamers from there and I am disappointed in this purchase, I payed almost 6 bucks for each and the creamer was coddled.

Shopping here was a gut-wrenching nightmare, I’m never coming back. They advertise one hour free parking, but when I tried to leave the lot after getting my groceries, this insane employee screamed in my face for five minutes and wouldn’t open the gate. I was so thankful when elm city market opened. For a reasonably small place, they have a great selection of healthy produce and natural brands. Their fruit/veg section is always nicely stocked and they have more than just the average options for GF, Vegans, veg, and paleo. In my experience the staff has always been very friendly, happy, and helpful. The cafe is nice for a quick sit down and they always have a colorful selection of flowers and house plants for purchase. The prices are general higher than say Trader Joes, etc. but its well worth it for the convenience!

Not sure why youd come here for groceries, other than for the notable fact that the next nearest grocery store is a 25 minute walk or a trip under the interstate away. Prices are eye-wateringly high. Selection of things you need (eg. produce) is small; selection of things you dont (eg. $25 cheeses) is large. Long story short is that you can cobble together a better selection at sometimes cheaper prices from New Havens independent shopkeepers (Oriental Pantry, Nicas, P&M, New Bottle Shop, Grand Fish Market, etc) or grocers (Edge of the Woods, Ferraros). Cant speak to their great-looking prepared food

RACIAL PROFILING AT ITS BEST ! If I could give this place no stars I would. My friends and I were RACIALLY PROFILED at this grocery store. When you walk in you can tell that it is upscale with a lot of organic options. I live in one of the downtown buildings and been wanting to go to that grocery store and try it out.A white bald employee followed us all the way from the back by seafood where we purchased a $30 fish, to the cash registers where we paid for our stuff and outside. He stood right outside the store door and was watching us put our stuff in our cars. That is unacceptable! He did not even have the decency to be discrete about it. They need to do better. I don’t know if it was because we were black or speaking another language IT IS STILL NOT ACCEPTABLE.! DO BETTER ! Your black customers deserve the same respect and decency

Love this store. Impeccably clean, helpful staff, nice cheese and bread selection (Balthazar’s olive bread is available, it’s da bomb!). A bit expensive, but in my opinion so worth it. Good specials, if you’re lucky you can get GT Kambuchea for $2. One time although they were on sale, cashier mistakenly charged me full $4 price. I noticed when I got home. I called and spoke to a manager who couldn’t have been nicer and provided me with a gift card for the price difference. They also have the best produce, avocados always perfect. In most other places avocados either too green or too ripe. They also have the best quality paper shopping bags available for free. This store is a class act, a real gem.

Very nice city style market. Great selection. Everyone working there clearly was going out of their way to make shopping there a pleasure. Had everything one could need with excellent quality. Prices are of course quite high. This is a go to spot for when you are entertaining and want something special to cook. My daughter loved the prepared foods, cheese selection, and produce. Only downer was some of the (I am guessing) regular shoppers are not used to real world situations; like having to wait for someone to, heaven forbid, perform a price check, redeem a Groupon, make them lose a few minutes of their day..... A line formed behind me of no more than a few people and the next lady in line, who was 60+ and should have known better...,was rude to the cashier and manager about a maybe 3 minute wait... The manager was so professional and offered to move all her items to another lane and ring them up quickly, she refused and continued to be miserable, big frown... Sadly the rest of the line seemed to echo her attitude.
