Always get my tires from this Mavis. There are other Mavis stores in town but I always come here because its a smaller location and I always get better service without the long wait. Just had my tires rotated, I was in and out. Will definitely be back for future service.

When my husband and I arrived at Mavis Tires, we had no idea how bad our car needed repairs. The manager- Samantha, explained everything to us and and showed us what our car needed. She even helped us to finance the repairs so that we could have the work done in a timely manner. She was kind, caring and explained what all the repairs were and was upfront with the pricing.I have always been a Mavis customer but Samantha went above and beyond what was possible for us! I took in my work van for a leaking tire found to be a nail. From the moment I arrived the service was red carpet. Courteous, professional and hard working. From the technician, Nate at the counter, to the manager Amar. They were a pleasure to work. If your looking for efficient and honest service, definitely stop by. If you need service on your vehicle, Mavis is where to go. I visited Mavis at 708 Jericho Turnpike in New Hyde Park on 6/18/21. I woke up to a surprise of my tire completely flat! Of course I had an appointment to get to that afternoon so I was in a panic. When I arrived at Mavis, I was greeted by Ken. He addressed me upon my arrival with a friendly hello and asked what he could do for me. I told him my situation and he immediately walked out to assess my car. He was so detailed in explaining my options and reassured me that it would be taken care of. I am happy to say, it was! Eddie was the mechanic that worked on my car. He was so efficient and got the job done so quick! He called me in to my car, explained what was wrong with my tire and was able to fix the problem. They went above and beyond being professional, kind and getting my car back on the road. I would definitely recommend Mavis in New Hyde Park!

Needed an alignment. Suspected may need at least two new tires, due to out of alignment. Worked with Ken mostly, I did need two new tires and was given the options of tire fir my vehicle. I knew the ones I wanted and had them installed. It was very quick, efficient and friendly experience. Will definitely be returning when needed. Thanks to Ken and his staff! 👍🏼

I was having battery issues with my Honda Civic, another mechanic mentioned it needs to be changed completely. I brought it to Mavis since its close by to get a second opinion. The battery itself passed and was showing charge. They mentioned the battery leads were a bit corroded. They cleaned it up and mentioned how it should be fine, rather than having to go through a whole change. They explained everything from top to bottom and all my options. Finding a trust worthy mechanic is hard to come by these days. I cant say enough good things about these guys. Ken and Nate were the two I dealt with and they were a huge help! I highly recommend this place!

The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had. I had to replace 3 of the same exact brand new tires 3 times in 3 months and the manager Omar or Amar was terrible. He did not even care that I had this issue and didn’t even explain that he understood that this is unacceptable. I’m a registered nurse and I’d appreciate some respect. And I was offered 10 dollars off. Unacceptable. Never again. Do not use this place

I am not at all car savvy but I knew I needed new tires. When I came to this location Shak was super helpful. He explained to me how to figure out what tire I needed. He gave me the options as well as insight on what he thought would be a good fit. I will be back soon for my oil change. If you need someone who actually knows what they are talking about and isn’t just trying to sell you the most expensive items or services this Mavis and specifically Shak is the person/ place to go.

I needed my tire changed and randomly decided to stop into this Mavis location…and it was the best decision! The staff was so knowledgeable about what I needed, changed it so quickly (15-20 mins) and were all so friendly! In the past, other shops have pressured me to buy add-on services, but the guys here filled me in on the condition of my car with no hassle to upcharge! I totally trust them now with my automotive needs and will definitely be using this specific location for everything!! Also- The office is clean and tidy. Shak was refreshing and gave a sense of security . I hate mechanic shops . Always feeling like I going to be beat out of my money but shak was very reassuring and patient .

Decent, went for oil change, was told more things needed to be fixed, 1 hour later was told they cant get the parts in cuz of holiday, so completed with just the oil change. They gave 10% discount for the time wasted, so that was good.

Went online to Mavis selected 4 tires on sale and then made a reservation for installation at this location. The next day I dropped off my vehicle and confirmed my order and then 3 hours later I get a call that they just realized that they don’t have these particular tires in stock. This terrible customer service and their point of sales inventory system either needs to be looked at or there daily retail workflows need to be adjusted so that they don’t take reservations for tires they don’t have.

My wife owns a 2018 Audi Q7 which Audi Lynbrook told her she needed new rear breaks and rotors. I told her to leave and I would take it to Mavis. The rotors looked fine to me but I wanted an unbiased opinion. Juan and the guys there put it on the lift and said the rotors were fine and we wouldn’t need the breaks done until our next oil change which was 9000 miles. They saved us $1200 for the breaks and $270 for the wheel alignment. When it is time we will have the work done at Mavis which is also where I take my Lexus LS. Thanks again guys!!!

For the past 3 years I have been going to the Mavis Discount tire at the 708 jericho turnpike in New Hyde Park . I became friends with the staff since they try there hardest keeping customers happy as well as make sure the work they do is always exceptional . I never had issues once work was done on any of my vehicles. I have a Hyundai Veloster as well as a CRV and from what I see they try there best treating customers like family . I told my coworkers about this location specifically and i was told a few people from my job actually started coming here.

I e had horrible experiences with other mavis. But at this particular location, the disposition and costumer service really matter to them. They’re just good neighbors. I had a flat. Their air machine is unavailable so I had to seek help from an employee. They were receiving a big delivery of tires when I got there. Juan noticed I needed assistance and immediately offered it. My tire was flat due to a broken valve. Immediately he looked for a replacement and changed it without hesitation and free of charge. He said it was spare and that I was good to go. The guy didn’t even want to take a tip. This happened around 9 am. A day that had already started as a bad day, Juan fixed it with a small act of kindness. Didn’t just fixed my tired but also the rest of my day and left me with a sense of joy. There’s still good people left. Some of them work at this location. Let’s take care of them.

I usually go to Mavis on Rockaway Turnpike but since I work in New Hyde Park I decided to take my car here to actually get my brakes done. The guy that was doing my brakes was named Eddie so helpful and very on top of what he was doing. They deff will work with discounts and help you out so you won’t be spending a lot here. I appreciate that because a lot of other places will just take your money and won’t care how much it’s hurting your pockets. If anybody goes here ask for Eddie he will deff keep it honest and help you out. Thanks guys!

I was stranded with no Feasible alternative to having my tire fixed after a blowout on my 2019 BMW. Geico and BMW roadside wasn’t an alternative since it was after hours. I called Mavis tire on 708 Jericho Turnpike and Juan went into survival mode calling all his contacts to find me a RFT with 19” rims. They were closed to closing, but Juan checked all of his sources and found me a tire. Can’t tell you how gratifying it was to know that Customer Service during this time is still working. Kudos to Juan and and his crew for getting me back on the road. Heaven Sent.

Ammar an the team at the 708 Jericho turnpike location are truly blessings. They go above and beyond for their customers. I just brought a used Jetta 08 an it’s needs ALOT of work an I couldn’t imagine what this Process will be like if I haven’t decided to bring the car to these guys. There is still a lot of work to be done an this mavis will be getting all of my business. I’m so grateful to these guy because honest people to work on your car can be hard to come by but even from the 1st day they made me feel comfortable with trusting my car in their car.So far I have had both my axles replaces here. My brake pads, calipers, and rotors all around done. My filters changed an diagnostic done. Next will be a complete suspension change and of course my state inspection done.

This place, Mavis @500 Hillside Ave, Née Hyde Park, can never surprise me, only bad things about them. Stopped coming here a while back because they were not able to fix a leaking tire. Went back multiple times with the same tire issue, no fix from the tire specialists.Today I tried to give them another shot. Called ahead to schedule an appointment, very nice lady made the appointment. When I got here they said I have to wait about 45 minutes just to get my car checked not the repair . Do not go there if your time is valuable!!!

I had a nail in my tire a week ago. A colleague recommended this shop to me. I went there one hour before they closed. They were able to fix the tire for me right away and Juan did not even charge me for the reason that I am a health care work. Great work and nice people!

Excellent service, took care of me right away. I had a screw in my tire and they took my car and right away and fixed it fast. They checked all the tires before giving it back.

I called in the middle of the day for a tire pressure dashboard light that lit up. They said come right over, dropped the car off. In 2 hours they called me back saying that I had a nail in the tire. When I went to pick up the car, they didn’t charge me That’s rare these days. I’d recommend this location.

This is the best and most professional shop I’ve been to. My mother had a nail in her tire and I had the same issue with my car. They were a hour away from closing and we’re able to take us at 5 o clock when we showed up. Webt in for vehicle issues and got tires replaced. They put the wrong tires on which created more issues that my original dealership had to identify and fix. Currently in the run-around with higher ups for a refund since the shop wont own up to it. Yes, I even provided documentation from the dealership themselves.

The place does a good job, the problem is they charge 4x the normal rates because they can, most shops dont have immediate access to parts in an emergency and Mavis definitely takes advantage of that.

If you come here you have to ask for Q. He was so helpful, answered all my questions and really tried to get me the best deal. He called me to give me updates and I really couldnt ask for anything more. He did a great job.

Those were presented to Mavis corporate HQ and the Better Business Bureau.I will point out that I liked these guys at first. Last year, on a particularly cold winters day when the air machine was broken, they serviced my car for free.Another transaction earlier this year seemed honest and straightforward.But last month they lied to me, twice, as they tried to get me to agree to expensive work I did not need. How do I know they lied? I took the car to two other mechanics, who confirmed the work was not required. In fact, the Mavis mechanics missed other issues that were more critical. Why? Maybe they were too focused on the big money job to deal with simple repairs they could not do or be bothered to do?Bottom line: Go here only if you know exactly what you need done and what that work should cost. If you dont, you might get burned.
