Friendly and professional! Were able to get my car up and running with not a bad wait time. Keith is a kind person who understands the value of a persons time. One of the best Pep Boys managers I have come across in a long time. Even with the wait time their waiting area was clean, well distance for seating. They followed the mask mandate and kindly asked people to put one on if they didn’t have one.

I want to thank Kevin at the Carrollton New Orleans location. Earlier today I was searching for a battery. Kevin checked and determined that he did not have the battery. Instead of sending me away, he called multiple stores until he was able to locate the battery for my vehicle. In the midst of a pandemic and in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, Kevin took the time to search for my battery. I appreciate his professionalism and outstanding customer service. NEVER go here especially if you are a woman. I came to replace a flat tire and after waiting 15 minutes to be acknowledged, I was immediately talked down to and ridiculed for replacing my flat with a spare. It took until the next day for the new tire to be ready and when I showed up I was once again treated with disrespect. I was then told it would take hours to get the tire on the car and that I should have left my car at the shop (an option I was not given the day prior). Not being able to stand the service, I left with an overpriced tire and regret for ever coming here.*For reference I am not one to leave reviews, but after my experience here I felt that this was my civic duty.

DO NOT GO HERE. Terrible service. Dropped my car off Friday morning last week because it was overheating. Got a call before closing telling me I’d didn’t need an oil change. Looks like lady at the counter took wrong information down. They tell me they will look at car on Saturday. I call Monday morning for them to tell me “master” tech is looking at car and that they will let me know. No one calls back and once again I have to call only to be informed that repairs won’t be done till Thursday possibly Friday.

I tried to drop my truck off for an alignment at 8 :15 am. Told the guy behind the desk I would leave it and lick up after work was completed. He said it would be late. I asked about what time as I needed to arrange for a ride back. He again said it would be late before we close. I asked what time do you close. He again said it would be late. What does that mean, I asked? His responce was Just leave I dont want to work on your car ! I said that I just need a window of time, 2 or 3 hrs . Just leave I will call Police. SERIOUSLY! THIS THE COMPETENCY LEVEL OF THEIR EMPLOYEES. Maybe this guy cant tell time. Dont waste YOUR time. Total idiots here.

What’s the point of an appointment? . I carved 2 hours out of my schedule. Forget it. Cancelled my appointment. Won’t try pep boys ever again!

I should have listened to the other reviewers and and not wasted my time. I made an appointment for front brake pads at 4pm. But they still asked me to leave my car. Everyone knows it dont take 2 hours for installing brake pads. So they just wasted my time and evening with their fake reservation system. Really disappointed. Their was no pep at this location. I dont even want to try going to another pepboys after this experience. Like other reviewers say, dont waste your valuable time here.

Wish I could give zero stars. We bought 4 tires through Amazon home install and had them shipped to the store. We had an appointment for 11am to get the tires installed. When we arrived at 11 it took them 30 minutes to acknowledge our existence, they then quoted us a higher price than what we already paid on Amazon. We contacted Amazon directly because youre not supposed to pay in store when you buy this service. Amazon tried calling this branch for an hour to resolve the issue and no one answered the phone. There were 7 employees around and they all just let the phone ring over and over. Im still sitting here at 1pm, no tired on my car. Ive never had such terrible service. Do not go to this store.

I went inside and politely asked if some one could inflate my tires expecting to have to pay, they said theyd do it for free and to pull around to the second bay. I did. I waited 2 hours and not a single person walked into the shop. They dont do their jobs here at pep boys.

My car was towed here after the alternator died. The man who towed my car checked the battery and said it was fine and that it was definitely the alternator.I call pep boys in the morning to ask what they are planning to do for my car. They say they cant know anything without changing the battery. If they do this and the alternator it will cost $637. They say the alternator alone is $400.I insist they fix the alternator and leave the two year old battery alone. They refuse.I bring my own mechanic to pep boys. We buy an alternator for $118. He replaces my alternator on the side of the road in twenty minutes on the side of the road for a much more reasonable price. And of course, it was JUST THE ALTERNATOR.My question now is, if not only to rip people off, why does a tow truck driver, a retired mechanic and a random passerby all seem to be able to reach the same conclusion but the Pep Boys people cant?

Review #2:I came back and its even worse. What a joke.Absolutely horrible. Online order shows ready for pickup. It wasnt ready for pickup. Part not in stock. Store refused to release partial order or substitute part or even cancel the one part. 45 minutes wasted. I called national 1-800 number, customer service there also abysmal. I walked into the store yesterday needing a dead battery. Keith greeted me and assisted me with finding the best battery for my vehicle. In addition, he also gave me a print out of future check ups that my car will need. I really appreciated it! The entire process was quick and easy, thanks Keith and pep boys!

Went to buy a battery and have the old one switched out for the new. The sales rep couldnt tell me if it would be done by closing, so I wouldve had to wait until closed before knowing if I needed to call a ride and since it was Saturday, wouldnt get my car until Monday. They also would not honor the price listed on the Pep Boys website for their location which had a discount and free installation, so I wouldve been paying $50-$70 more than I expected.

So the guy in front of me had been waiting for 2 hrs for a simple oil change. Ive been here for 2 hrs now waiting for tires. The lady at the counter was sweet but the guy changing my tires has been on his phone long enough to read a 5000 page book. My new friend who was waiting went across the street and is already in and out and back on the road. Not one to really write posts but might want to shop around I was just in a hurry and made the mistake dont make the same. There is now another guy that was told his car would be done by 430-5 its 6pm...

My review is on the customer service not the car itself. With 2 days of it in the shop, 1st didnt sound too bad, so a battery was put in her. 2nd found out the radiator is a bust plus what damage the engine had during that time. All in all I could not afford her to be fixed. On top of that not knowing the Pepboys Policy states I could not return the battery (even though the car sat at pepboys til the next day) This was very stressful for which I paid for a battery I cannot use. This review is on a lack of communication that ended on a good note bc sometimes it depends on the persons judgement of the situation. They could have told me no on the return. So I thank you again Mr. Keith and Mr. Brain

The worst mechanic I have been to in New Orleans. As the desk guy informed me, making an appointment just means that you are next in line. I made an appointment for noon and they didnt even pull my car into the garage until 1 oclock. Then they did a suspension test to see if they could do an alignment, which they couldnt, and an oil change as I requested. That took them an hour and a half. The mechanic, Vincent, was incredibly slow moving, as were the rest of the employees here. The customer service here is terrible. Everyone is lethargic and completely unapologetic about how long things take. No one ever voluntarily gave me information or updates, I had to ask every time, and they acted annoyed, even though I was remarkably patient considering that I was there for TWO AND A HALF HOURS and all I got was a simple oil change. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN.

The snarky service manager at this location, Keith, is the person who checked me in when I arrived. I was told that my car(the only way I have to get around) would be ready at a certain time the next day. I hadnt received any updates the entire day about any delays in the repair and I even called to see if it would be ready on time and the service CSR who answered the phone told me he couldnt tell me. I patiently waited until an hour after the time they told me it would be ready, then I called after still not hearing anything, and no one answered the phone. I called customer service who also tried to call the store and they could not get anyone to answer and customer service agent mentioned how strange that was since the store was still open. I still dont have my car and I have no idea how I am going to get to work in the morning since I have to be there before pep boys will even open. If you are in New Orleans and you absolutely have to use a pepboys, I strongly advise you use the location in the east and AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not sure why all the reviews seem to be very negative; my experience at this pep boys has always been nothing other than extremely satisfactory. Usually their service department doesnt open until 9AM but I needed all 4 of my tires changed and have to be at work for 10 so they very willingly let me book an appointment for 7AM to accommodate my schedule. The service team also made me aware that my brake pads were worn down to almost nothing, and the manager even took the time to show me how thick a new brake pad should be, and let me look at how thin mine were worn down to. (my point here is that they werent just trying to make a sale, they were genuinely looking out for my cars best interest) Also came to this same pep boys a couple months ago when i desperately needed a tire patched, barely made it there 15 minutes before they closed and they were able to help me out when the tire kingdom down the street had already turned me down and they both close at the same time. I would recommend their service department to anyone.

I have had two horrible experiences with the Carrollton Avenue location within the last four months. The most recent was regarding my brakes. After noticing the service brakes indicator on my dash, I visited Pep Boys to have my brakes serviced. After six hours I received a phone call telling me that my car was ready to be picked up and the technicians could not find any issues with the brakes. I knew that my car could not have been checked. The same day, a male friend of mine raised the hood to check the brake fluid. At that time we noticed that the compartment which holds the brake fluid was COMPLETELY EMPTY. THERE WAS NO WAY MY BRAKES HAD BEEN PROPERLY INSPECTED by Pep Boys. Ive had nothing but great service at the New Orleans East location and will continue to go there. However, this is the second time Ive brought my car into the Carrollton Avenue location only for them to tell me that we couldnt find anything wrong.

I actually dont want to give no stars! I had my brakes replaced only because I purchased a used car. I requested the struts and shocks be checked also. Its literally a whole year and my brakes are worst then before they were changed. I went back to the store 3 times to only be told, they squeak because the type of brakes you purchased. Really!!!! My truck squeaks and the shocks arent good. $600 down the drain!!! Never again. Ill rather go to Firestone or another company before letting Pep boys service my vehicle!!!

Chex Silverado 2500HD carrying a truck camper. Heading south, outside Harrisburg, PA, 8pm, the alternator fails. The only folks open are the Pep Boys; they are open late. The truck, with the camper on it, cannot fit in the service bay so their mechanic changes the alternator, in the parking lot, IN THE RAIN! The cost is modest and off we go. The gauge says ok but the warning light remains on. It must be charging because we make it to N.C., stopping and restarting several times. Went to a Chev dealer, after waiting 3 days, they installed one of theirs, the cost was more than double but the problem solved. They concluded, and I figured out, that the Pep Boys alternator worked fine but would not talk to my trucks computer. Ah, the days of computer control. I stopped at a different Pep Boys store, they tested and found the alternator OK so they could not issue a refund but they provided the number and suggested I call higher management. I did, they apologized and my money was promptly refunded. Every person was pleasant, courteous and went out of their way to help us. I will be happy to deal with these folks again.

I got there at 7:55 check in at 8:18 because no one was at the service desk, was told no more than a hr wait for an oil change from Steve,9:20 my car was still sitting in the same spot asked Bryan whats going on and he stated that I had 2 wait til 9:30 when another tech comes in... ok😐 finally car was pulled back at 9:46. At 10:55 Id had enough and went to ask how much longer it would be,I asked Bryan why Steve told me an hr and it had been 3 hrs,he said he didnt know 🤨 paid and expressed my frustration with the situation and still had 2 wait 10 more minutes for not car all that time and my oil change light is still on! So I guess I gotta look on YouTube for that because I was so over them

I went to Pep Boys three days ago and told Keith that there was smoke coming out of my hood multiple times. I picked up my car that day and they didnt mention anything. After a few days, I noticed a large amount of smoke billowing out of my hood. I brought it back to Pep Boys and they told me there was a crack in the radiator. The fact is that I went to Pep Boys before because there was smoke coming out of my car and they never checked anything to see what the source was. After I got my radiator repaired, I mentioned to Keith that I had told him previous about the smoking engine and his response was You told me about the smoke? Way to listen to your customers. Seriously, I have been driving around with a cracked radiator for three days. They never did anything to identify the problem. I know I am never going back to this store again if something goes wrong with my vehicle.

They installed a directional tire on my truck backwards. They put the tire on the wrong rim. They installed the centric hub ring on backwards only install one of the two that I had because another store lossed the other two (RimTyme).The hub rings are custom made that cost me $80 to have made. Which are 87.1 x 100.4. I have no idea how they got the rim on the truck with it on backwards but I caught hell getting it off. The didnt rotate one side of my trucks tires after balancing all 4 tires. After I noticed most of the mistakes days later but also noticed I had picked up a nail in the side wall of the new tire I had just had them installed which was the one they installed backwards. So I waited to go back to complain till I ordered a new tire. When I returned back to the store I showed them all the mistakes that were mad on my truck and ask for a refund. They offer to fix the mistakes but I refused to let them ever work on my truck again. I wanted the refund to bring it to a different shop. They refused to refund me the money. Two weeks later I noticed excessive wear on my drivers side front tire and decided to replace it. The tire wear out way faster then it should have. The truck also vibrated. I thought it was from the tire that was installed in the opposite direction its was designed to rotate. I was wrong it was the driver side rim was not sitting flush with there rotor because of the centric hub ring was smashed between the rim and the rotor. IF THEY CANT GET A MOUNTING, BALANCING, AND ROTATION TIRE JOB DONE CORRECTLY. HOW CAN ANYONE TRUST THEM WITH ANYTHING ELSE? LIKE A BRAKE JOB. SMH NEVER AGAIN WILL I SPEND MY MONEY AT A PEP BOYS.

I have never been a big fan of this place. But today was the last draw.I went in today with a six month old tire, that had gone flat in my driveway. I had only put about 6,000 miles on the tire.I met a extremely grumpy guy there named ZO. I told him I might have a warranty repair. He looked at my paperwork, and tossed it back across the podium. you got no warrantyWe went back and forth about this. I had not purchased road hazard insurance. He wouldnt / couldnt tell me what my warranty was on the tire. He told me that I would have to contact the tire company directly, and ask them to send me a new tire.He hadnt even looked at the tire. I asked how he knew it was road hazard damage. He told me that they were busy, and I had to wait five hours for them to get to it.I finally left in frustration, Ignorant and rude representative, no service after the sale. Product that failed in six months.I went to a local service station. The issue was a leaky valve stem, installed by Pep Boys. What do have to say about that Zo?I have to replace the Michelins on my Ford Explorer soon. Guess where I will NEVER go again? Too bad. I have used them a lot.And to Pep Boys management. If Zo cant be friendly or helpful to loyal repeat customers, maybe he needs to stay in the shop. Or send him back to flipping burgers.

Worst auto parts store. There is absolutely no respect for the customer. I waited on the phone for 10 min, walked into the store while still on the phone, and hear the phone ringing while employees just stood around doing nothing. Then they didnt know how to work the computer system and instead of trying to solve my issue, they asked me if the I competent solution looked right to me. I should have paid myself to do they work that they made me do. Dont go here unless you want no costumer service and to walk away infuriated.

I really thought since what I was asking for was so simple, it would be ok to take my car here despite the terrible reviews. Nope.All I wanted them to do was to check that a tire had been patched properly (long story involving AAAs third party towing service disappearing with my car for 2 hours while I waited at the tire repair place for them, then arriving with the tire repaired and missing hubcaps) AND ensure that there was no damage to the wheel well from improper towing/the metal bar sticking out of my tire.I reiterated at least 6 times this was the DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE AND WHEEL WELL. They told me they would call when I was scheduled for service, and after hearing nothing for 2 hours I called them. They said the car was fine, and the DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIRE was perfectly fine, and the PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WELLS were also fine. This level of incompetence is astonishing to me. It resulted in a huge waste of my time.Do not come here, even if you have a simple and direct request. Save yourself the headache and go pretty much anywhere else. If they cant get such a simple detail right, do you really trust them to fix your car?

They over tighten the oil filter on the van down in Miami, which caused oil pan housing to crack. Brought it back to Pep boys to have them fix there mistake. They replace the broken oil pan housing. But over charge for the oil change. I had to pay 130 dollars for an oil change!!!!! I never wanted to let them change oil again but was forced to so they could fix there mistake. Never send anybody here

GARBAGE!. After being passes around on hold for 10 minutes i finally got someone on the line. I just had a simple question, Do you have a press so if i bring up my drive shaft you could press out my U joints....very simple. Answer....Man i dont really know youll just have to bring it up here and ill have to take a look at it. I told him it was a basic U joint, not a velocity joint, all i need is a press and i got the same response. Man i dunno youll just have to bring it up here and ill take a look at it. This is my second time dealing with this Pep Boys, the first was another adventure when i wanted my tires rotated. Dont go here the people here are rude, lazy, and incompetent. Very Disappointed.

They seemed kind and got the work done but when I went out to my car it was wrecked. All my stuff was pulled out of the glove box and dumped on the floor and some of my things were gone. Im very upset because it was a lot of money on my car to have it run again and I get treated like this? The list of complaints:Calling to get a status of work is impossibly frustrating- the service desk is always understaffed and you will be on hold for a long, long time.Quoted price is never the actual price- Ive had tire work and engine work done on two separate cars and even accounting for taxes, the quote is quite a bit lower than the final bill.Unnecessary and expensive work- they will try to convice you that a lot of work is needed to fix problems when much cheaper options are available.If they do screw something up (they cracked a rim in my case) and tell you theyll be contacting you to replace it or compensate you, you will not be hearing from them again. For my rim I called to enquire about the replacement a week after being told theyd be getting a new one in for me and got the telephone equivalent of a blank stare- nobody knew what I was talking about.There are good, high quality local mechanics in the area (try Jennings Auto or Circle Auto Electric), do not give this place your money (unless you need some keys made).

To start, id like to thank the parts department for their service. I entered the establishment to and empty desk. After waiting for a bit someone showed up to the service desk told me they wouldnt be able to rotate before close. It was 3:00 pm. Returning the next day i sat in the lounge for 2 hrs waiting and when they finally pulled it inside the guy tells me they cant do it due the guy that rotates didnt show. Thanks Pep Boys for costing me 2hrs of lost time at work. Never again!!

If you dont want to read the whole thing, the wait was egrigious. Thats it.I booked an appointment to have my car worked on online. I showed up about 20 minutes early, figuring, hey, maybe they can take my car now, but if not- I can wait 20 minutes. Well... It was much longer than that. They didnt even start on my car until an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment. Then, it was another hour and a half before they finished the oil change. I waited for more than 3 1/2 hours total!I get that sometimes business is bussy, and it takes a while to do someones car... But why even pretend to have an appointment system if you dont even come close to following it??

I had an issue with an incredible wait time to get tires intalled, so called manager told me If I bought an overpriced cold drink I would get a discount card, same one everyone else gets free I soon learned.Every time I ask to speak to a manager I get a rude reply that I am speaking to the manager, very doubtful!Very unprofessionalJiffy lube is just down the road, a little pricy ( In my opinion) but the work they have done on my car has lasted.

Probably one of my worst auto repair experiences. Brakes were making noise so I took it in to get them checked. These guys tried to tell me that the entire front brake system needed to be replaced (pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, fluids) for $1100. I took it to an independent guy who said it just needed new pads and might need one new rotor the next time I get pads. In and out for $90 in half the time it took Pep Boys to just do an estimate.

DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE IF YOU WANT IT FIXED!!! These people are a frigging JOKE. Buncha idiots who have no idea what they are doing.I brought my van in for a brake job, and because it was slowly leaking coolant.A thousand dollars later, they say its fixed. The next day I see smoke and the van is overheating...Why? Look under the hood, coolant is spewing EVERYWHERE. I dont know what they screwed up, but its on the way back over there and they had better fix it right. Total joke.

I usually come in here knowing what I want and thats the good part. The bad part is, their customer service is terrible! I asked them a question once and they werent able to answer me. Thats when I knew I shouldnt count on them if I had questions or wanted to order parts from them.

Just not good with so many other options in the area. Each time Ive been, the wait was terrible. The parts are not of good quality. Had a warranty replacement for a battery after just 2 years. Ill only go for parts and tool sales but not letting them touch any of my cars again.

Like most Pep Boys, this place is terrible. I have gotten two defective tires from here (in a row!). Every time I have needed a tire change, it has been at least double the time they estimated. Sometimes I have had to leave my car there over night when I was told it would be a couple of hours. They have tried to over charge me before. All of the workers are hateful.
