I was in a pinch, got invited to be in a wedding party the day before the wedding. Needed a tux, just visiting the area. Called Perlis and told them the tale, they said theyd take care of me! Rolled in there, ushered upstairs, got me to pick out a rental, measured, and they said theyd have it ready in the morning! Went and picked it up this morning and it was perfect. Speedy service, real cool guys working there that really got me out of a bind. Didnt break the bank either. Extremely happy with my experience.

Visited Perlis looking for a dress shirt. Asked the salesperson where the dress shirts were, she didnt even look-up but said, over there. I walked out and wont return.

Perlis has been great to me. I learned about the brand during a period of time I lived in New Orleans. I have since moved to NJ and use Perlis for all my high end clothing needs. The quality and service is exceptional.I had ordered about 4 pieces of clothing for an upcoming trip that was around Christmas time. When I tracked the status, it said the label was printed but had no update on location. As the trip got closer I got nervous I wouldn’t have the items in time. Jim, in the shipping department, contacted me on the phone and said if an update was not available by the next day, he would overnight the same items to be sure I had them for my trip. Thankfully UPS updated the tracking and the items would arrive on time (probably backed up from holiday shopping). Jim followed up anyway to point this out to me. It was nice to know, if I needed it, Perlis had my back and would go above and beyond to get my items to me on time.Would recommend to anyone and have been spreading the word in NJ.

Had a blast today - terrific experience at Perlis - many quality items to choose from. I was going to shop at a few other places on Magazine St but didnt need to!

Traditional uptown mens store. Stylish in a conservative New Orleans way. Shoes to sport shirts, tuxedos and suits, dress and casual slacks. Collared pull overs and a nice selection of neckware. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff makes this store a New Orleans tradition for generations. More than just a mens store as women clothing also available. Perlis parking lot adjacent to building is very convenient. Accept major credit cards. Ask for Pete!

Nice home atmosphere. Family run. The place for high priced, NO-based clothing. Inventory has a lot of clothes not sold in previous seasons. Experienced staff. High level of customer service.

Rude staff. Bought a $200 pair of jeans. When I picked them up after altering the length they didnt even put it in a bag or offer a sales receipt. The old guy who helped me, an alleged professional sales person, asked me if I wanted a bag and I was so shocked by this question I responded no. I should have said if you have to ask then that speaks volumes. The arrogance was palatable.

Outstanding business - great service, excellent quality products. I never go anyplace else for mens wear or formal clothing rentals. It really is like being served by a friend or family member. The only caveat is that this is definitely not a bargain-basement place to shop, so be prepared to pay an appropriate price for excellent products.

If youre looking for clothing thats unique or maybe just traditional, this is the place. Any of the staff members here will be glad to assist . Here you feel welcomed with Southern Charm as soon as you enter. Search for the entire family; from school uniforms to formal wear. Your trip isnt complete nor or you a New Orleanian until you have a crawfish in your closet.

Lots of great clothing options with avery helpful staff. Its my go-to place for nice clothes, but I would prefer if they didnt offer discount coupons int the mail and instead just priced their clothes slightly better. Always kinda feel like Im getting ripped off a little when I dont use a coupon.

Ive had better customer service at Walmart.15 minute followup. We have had a cumberbun break a cufflink break and pants without buttons for suspenders. We tried to call and get help and they hung up on me. Then the second person we spoke to said just dont wear the suspenders. You cant make this stuff up....

A major part of Perlis is their tux rentals. They should be very good at something theyve been doing for many years. Not the case. 4 of us rented tuxes for our daughters wedding and on the day to pick up 2 of the tuxes were no where to be found so start over from scratch. We tried everything on and after many adjustments we were on our way. We didnt think we would have to inspect the suspenders or ties. One of the bow ties didnt have a clasp and one of the suspenders button holes were ripped apart. We jury rigged everything to make it work as it was too late to exchange. What a disgrace. Perlis should be ashamed. I would recommend renting from anywhere else.

There needs to be a twelve step program for getting you out of Perlis. This is where New Orleanians go to get there local garb (with crayfish).

They can be slightly pricier than local competitors, but I find the quality and service are worth it.

I HAVE BEEN BUYING BELTS FROM PERLIS SINCE I WAS 16 YEARS OLD. TO DO THE MATH, THAT IS 25 YEARS OF EXCELLENT QUALITY FROM PERLIS. MY FIRST PERLIS BELT WAS THE SHOTGUN SHELL BELT THAT I WORE THROUGH COLLEGE AND AT MY FIRST JOB FOR A TOTAL OF 11 YEARS OF ALMOST DAILY WEAR. AFTER I RETIRED IT DUE TO MY MIDSECTION OUTGROWING IT, I TRIED THE DEPARTMENT STORE BELTS AND MUST HAVE BOUGHT 12 TO 15 BELTS OVER A 12 MONTH PERIOD. ALL OF THEM BROKE IN THE BUCKLE, OR THE KEEPER BROKE. EVER SINCE, WHENEVER I RETURN TO NOLA, I MAKE SURE TO SPEND MY MONEY AT PERLIS ON BELTS AND OTHER FINE CLOTHING. MY FAVORITE DESIGN IS THE CRAWFISH STAMPED ON THE KEEPER BECAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF MY LOUISIANA ROOTS. I LIVE IN THE ATLANTA AREA NOW, BUT ONLY WEAR PERLIS BELTS.
