I have used this store during its various incarnations, and I have generally been very satisfied. Recently I went there to buy rimless glasses and learned that they do not carry them. In a hurry, I bought a pair that I disliked the least (since I was really looking for rimless and had to settle for something else). I picked them up and as I started to wear them, I grew increasingly dissatisfied. I brought them back to the store and Dana helped me make it right. For this, I give this location high scores.
There was some potentially expensive confusion with corporate BUT Ron & Catherine at the St. Charles location went out of their way to work with me and ensure that Id be a lifetime customer because I know theyll take care of me!!!
I wish I would look this place up and read all the reviews before going there.First time I went to check my eye in 2019 around November. Eyes looked okay, I appreciated that they had some special machine that would allow me not to get my eyes dialate in order to check my eyes. At that time they asked if I want to pay additional $35 for that and I agreed. They pushed for glasses and contacts but I didn’t need any and it was fine. This year, I was hoping they would call me or email me reminding me about my yearly check up. After not receiving anything I called and they confirmed that it is indeed time for my check up. This time I needed contacts so mentioned that when I made appointment, when I arrived and when I talked to doctor.Lady who checked me in was very nice I don’t have any issues with her. Doctor was Mathew Thibodaux and during exam he kept talking about glasses and I told him I don’t wear glasses I need contacts. He mentioned glasses couple of more times and finally it was over. This time nobody asked about that special machine for extra $35...instead my fee was much higher than last year. They didn’t have the contacts that I needed so they ordered and told me to come back.I have to say that the Doctor need a bit of sensitivity training and better his listening skills. During this visit it felt that he didn’t hear me at all.Next time I came back for a contact fitting and from beginning right eye didn’t feel good. It felt like I have a hair in my eye. I told the doctor that and after looking he said “oh, that’s because it is supposed to be to the right...not left...okay...” then he wrote something on paper and told me that he will order the right contact so I will have to come back and just pick up the trials. It has been three weeks I never gotten any call about my trials. I called yesterday and receptionist was rude. I tried to explain my situation to which she said...what? You mean you didn’t get trials? I explained again and she said “here it says you were notified....hold on” and put me on hold. After couple of minutes she came back and said that she will call me back after investigating. She never called yesterday, nobody called today.Very unprofessional and pushy for glasses and contacts doctors who didn’t gain my trust at all. Won’t come back again even if I have to pay another doctor for another eye exam. And please, don’t call me after this review. I am not interested in an apology or that you strive to be better. All I wanted is doctors who would treat you with care and not car salesman type of an office.
Terrible. Avoid if you have the option.Made an appt online, only for the receptionist to call me since that appt had been taken already (shouldve realized this was a red flag) and instead try and book me with a different doctor out-of-my network. Had to play phone tag three times to reschedule with the original in-network doctor.I show up 15min early to my appt and check in, only to wait AN HOUR PAST MY ORIGINAL APPT TIME and still the doctor is nowhere to be found. Ended up leaving after spending an hour and a half here without seeing any doctor as I only took off two hours from work for the visit. The receptionist wasnt sympathetic or helpful at all - seems to me like this sort of thing happens all the time here. What a waste of time.
EDIT: Customer service from MyEyeDr quickly contacted me to resolve the issue and offered to make an appointment for me to do my measurements. I had already gone to another vendor for this, but I appreciate that they were quick to try to solve the issue. Thank you!The exam service was great, but after finishing my exam, I realized that there were certain elements of my visit that were missing. The receptionist, intake personnel and Dr. Jennifer Elumelu were very friendly and knowledgeable. When I finished my exam and went to check-out in the glasses showroom area, I looked at all of the frames but didn’t find anything in my budget. When I told the employee that I was assigned to that I was ready to check out, I asked him why my pupillary distance wasn’t listed on my prescription printout. He didn’t want to give me my pupillary distance measurement because I didn’t want to buy glasses from your store. I guess he didn’t want to go through the effort of measuring my PD since it wouldn’t directly benefit your store. So now I’m at home trying to order my glasses, and I don’t have all the information necessary about my pupillary distance. I also realized after I got home that based on my prescription that I was given, apparently I have astigmatism, and that was not explained to me.
Being from the city but no longer living here I wish I can take this place back with me! I was home visiting and no longer had any contacts. I went in with my prescription and they hooked me all the way up allowing me to enjoy my vacation in peace! Thank you Ms. Dana! Appreciate you all!
One of the rudest experiences Ive had going to a medical office. Before my exam they called to confirm my insurance information, and made sure to tell me that the price of my contacts would not be included but the appointment would be. This was fine, until after the appointment when suddenly they said that my insurance is not eligible for anything and I would have to pay out of pocket. They failed to inform me of this before I already had my eye exam, etc. When I went back to pick up my contacts, the woman who had helped me before was immediately rude to me as I walked in the door. Complained about how my mother had called to discuss the situation, complained that she wanted to talk to the manager. They also told my mother that they had informed me of the insurance situation multiple times before the exam, which they did not. All while the rest of the office was silently watching. It was completely unprofessional and rude, the entire experience. I will not be going back.
Unorganized mess. Scheduled an appointment online and Entered all of my insurance into the system. They call me a week before the appointment and again take my insurance info and tell me they will call me if there’s any problems. I take a day off of work so that I could go to the appointment and when I get there and show them my insurance card the lady says that they don’t accept my insurance and that I can pay out-of-pocket. I ask her why no one called me back to tell me that before I used a day off of work and spent my time to come to the office. She says she’s really busy. I would highly recommend you do not waste your time at this office
Very courteous, good experience from testing to payment, all the way through.
This place is awesome, me and my wife forgot our contacts on a trip to New Orleans and we found them as they were about to close. They were super friendly and helpful! This was very important to us because both of us had our glasses that worked during the day but they were outdated and terrible at night. Thanks again!
I have been wearing glasses my entire life and this is the worst experience I have ever had. They sold me sunglasses I couldnt see with. It was like a fish bowl and they were falling off my face because the lens was so big and heavy. They should have known these wouldnt work with my prescription. They tried a new pair. The same thing happened. They tried to tell me I shouldnt have gotten a prescription because I was pregnant and that was the reason I couldnt see out of the lenses.I had to fight for my money back for the sunglasses. I ordered glasses at the same time that Ive been stuck with. The lens keeps falling out of the frame. Im constantly having them fixed because they made the lens wrong. After they broke while I was driving I finally had to replace them out of pocket.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This is the worst customer service I have encountered. I cannot believe they sell such expensive glasses and dont know what theyre doing. It blows my mind that they wouldnt make this right and Ive been stuck with their expensive poorly made glasses.
Ive been a patient of Dr. Glasers for more than 20 years. He and his staff are professional, courteous and have a sense of humor. He takes whatever time is needed to examine your eyes and to determine if a situation (floaters, thinning retinas, cataracts, etc.) are beginning and ensures you know about it and your options. The selection of frames is excellent and the dispensing staff is marvelous in helping you find a great pair of frames that enhances your appearance and sticks to your budget.
The staff was knowledgeable and efficient. The young lady helped me pick out a frame and was very honest about how the certain frames looked on my face. I love honestly and I appreciated her input as well. I wish I would have been knew about St. Charles Vision.
When I called the staff assured me that they were a Davis Vision provider. It wasnt until after the appointment when I was checking out that they mentioned they only gave a partial discount for Davis Vision and were in fact not in network. $200 out of pocket here I am writing a bad review about their poor service. Good night and good luck
This place has the worse client service experienceThe selections are awful for an iconic location
DO NOT GO HEREThey will file with insurance for exams you didnt recieve. They will not refund for product tou didnt receiveThey are fraudulent and incompetent
Ive called after hours on several different occasions. The phone replies that voice reception is Full. So I could not leave a message. I tried to find an email box. But none given. So a person must wait till business hours.
The experience I Had was very unpleasant in so many words it’s your word against there’s I was sold an insurance for replacement of lost or stolen glasses however as of today I don’t have my glasses I called trying to submit a claim for my lost glasses and was told that I wasn’t sold that type of insurance when I have restated what I was sold the day of purchase I ask the seller to explain the coverage I also told her if it was for damages only I don’t want it she said she could Reassure me that this coverage is different it covers lost or stolen eye wear for only $25 dollars I then told her sign me to that coverage now I’m having to deal with The General Manager Kim Say I wasn’t told that ! She sorry for the miss communication what about what I paid for ?? I don’t need an apology I need a solution!!!
Wonderul service! Frames are mostly for the women, but they have some (expensive) fashionable ones for the guys. The staff are always incredibly kind, and go out of their way to assist. Dr. Glaser is an expert among experts, and I trust him entirely with my eye balls.
Great Staff, comfortable exams, great variety of glasses, and an overall great place to go! Staffer Deanna Chisano is very helpful.
They have nice frames, and maybe they do a good job. But they are extremely expensive, and I really dont like the high-pressure sales techniques. Just after your exam - when your head is kind of swimming - they take you by the hand and try to manipulate you into buying one of their expensive frames. You force you to be rude and push them off. I wont be going back.
The BEST! St Charles Vision has the most knowledgable and professional staff and the best selection of eyewear. Everyone is local and friendly and they will take care of you, whether its a fashion or medical question that you have.
Very unpleasant staff. I have been having vision problems for most of my life and I expect a very high level of care. Unfortunately this place does not provide that. However, I would recommend any of the other St. Charles Vision locations.
I had the worst experience at St. Charles Vision on St. Charles and Carollton. I went in there 11 months ago to get new glasses. Dr. Glaser made a mistake and came up with the wrong prescription. After complaining to them twice, the Dr. redid my eye exam and realized that he made a mistake and they remade my glasses with the wrong prescription again. I have been with the wrong prescription for 11 months now because of their mistake . And they refuse to give me another eye exam at no cost to me . All i want is a pair of glasses with my current correct prescription. I do not recommend going there for glasses. Plus they were extremely rude to me, when they are the ones who made the mistake. They just lost a good customer . I have been going there for 15 years.
They are awful. I ordered contacts 5 weeks ago. 5 weeks. Just received them today. When I called to get an update I received a rude response back and lack of care. I will never do business with them again.
Horrible, unpleasant and unprofessional .I entered the store along with another lady who went directly to the counter and I went into the lobby to view the glasses .Upon entering the store it would have nice to be greeted kindly. One young lady passed me on her way to sit and do her work. She asked me very somberly if I needed help. I asked was the section I was standing by was the only section with the Oliver Peoples. She replied . Thats the men section and the womens s section is over there .No further help was given and no other conservation was given to me . What a blatant display of poor, unkind customer service . I wasnt even told thank you as I was leaving . Its sad in this day and time one has to experience this kind of behavior. I will NEVER visit this optical shop again. Readers beware -you may not be the type they want in the store . The worst optical store in the New Orleans area. I would like to give it less than 1 star . ZERO is the more appropriate rating !!!!!
I had the worst eyeglass service. I went in to get them adjusted and the woman just asked what was wrong and started working on them without looking at me. She basically grabbed them by one leg of the frame (which anyone knows you shouldnt do) from my face and didnt bother to look at them on my face. When I said they still didnt feel right, she manhandled them on the counter. And this all happened standing up at their counter, as I was not invited to sit down.
Ive had my eyes examined at St. Charles Vision for many years. The staff is friendly and helpful; Dr. Glaser is very experienced, thorough, and great at explaining the results of the eye exam.
You need to see. They have glasses. Match made in heaven.
Great staff and a wide array of frames to choose from. parking can be difficult though.
Ok
