I had the Big Brother plate. A breaded pork chop on top of rice baked with both white and red sauce. Also has a large chicken wing and a sunny side up egg on top of the pork chop and sauces. I’m a big eater and couldn’t finish it. Very tasty. I will back soon to try more items. The menu is very extensive with tons of meat and or veggie choices.
Had the hot plate combo with black pepper sauce. It was pretty good.
Had 皮蛋瘦肉粥 plus drink during happy hours. Portions are good size. The porridge/congee is on the thin side but it’s generally good. Not busy around 3pm on a weekday. Service was good.
Food is just OK here. Portion is not as big as some reviewers mentioned. This is a Hong Kong style cafe. I ordered their daily special set lunch as I was late for their breakfast. Set lunch include the meal, hot drink, and soup. I was hoping to have Hong Kong style coffee but was provided local style coffee which I didnt request. Not sure if this place have Hong Kong style coffee though. The restaurant was half full and only two servers working. Service wasnt a good as I hope it would be. Dont believe Ill be back here again.
We got the oyster beef with rice and the hainan chicken. Both came with your choice of milk tea or lemon ice tea and a soup. The tea though a standard sweet lemon iced tea was surprisingly quite good and refreshing if I do say so myself. Im not sure if it was the sugar or lemons or if I just havent had lemon ice tea in a long time but either way it wasnt bad.The soup had tomatoes and cabbage and was slightly sweet and sour. It wasnt really my thing. Now on to the entrees. The hainan chicken was okay. The portions were a bit small chickenwise but it also came with two scoops of yellow rice and some peanuts on the side and some vegetable I did not try. Flavorwise it was only okay not too special. The entire meal was like a wannabe bentos box.The beef was very good. It was saucy and slightly sweet with a good amount of mushrooms. The beef was tender and complemented by a side of rice. I would recommend.Thats all folks.
Great place to eat with a nice Hong Kong vibe!!
U cant complain too much about their food quality when their price range is so low. This is a resturant for the low income.
Just have a breakfast in Venus cafe today, overall experience is fine. Had a bowl of beef porridge with a small plate of chow main, they are pretty good, and of course a cup of hot Hongkong classic milktea is alway a plus, highly recommend to everyone to try their milktea in early morning, fresh boiled fresh serve!
Great Hong Kong style food. Generous portion but inexpensive.
Be careful! They do not respect special food request. After having confirming three time of not using some vegetable, they still put them in! Then after asking them to change the dish, they simply remove some of them and reserve the same dish! Cash only with not cheap price. Cash only sign is not easy to find.
Excellent Hong Kong and Chinese food. Big portions so good for sharing. Cash only so bring your cash!Highly recommended
This is a hong kong style cafe. The lunch special on a weekday is great. Beware, its cash only establishment. Must try the coffee, its so different than regular coffee
They r always consistent. The food is consistent and the service is consistent. I like coming here bc of that. However, not taking card as a form of payment in the 21st century is kinda annoying. Wish they will adapt soon.
Food taste good.
Gets worse and worse each time I eat here.Egg in the porkchop meal was raw which is a HEALTH HAZARD.
It was my first time trying black pepper pork chops over fried rice but now I feel like Ive been missing out for way too long. Glad I work nearby because I need to try more of their dishes.
Good Breakfast.
Excellent, authentic Cantonese food in a casual atmosphere.
Huge portions for reasonable prices. I recently moved back in the area, and Im glad to see theyre still as good and consistent as the day they opened.
Food and service is pretty standard for a HK cafe but there’s nothing impressive or remarkable about this place. There are better HK cafes around Fremont and Milpitas with more competitive prices.
I got shrimp fried rice and was satisfied, it was simple but thats what I was wanting. My husband got the black pepper beef with noodles and felt it was bland and didnt have much meat in it for the price.
Been coming here for over a decade. Great place for HK diner food. Love their baked rice dishes.
My go to Hong Kong style cafe in Fremont. Food and price are both great
A delight! The Hainan Chicken is better than what I tasted in Hainan, China during a trip there earlier this year.
They made me spicy wor wonton soup when I was sick. I couldnt even find it on the menu. Theyre the best. Go there. Cash only.
Love this place, good food with cheap price, lot of selection, love the milktea and fry beef italy noodle.old customer lol...
Favorite night time to go place. Love the ice lemon tea and pork chop guilin noodles 😆 remember to bring cash, theyre cash only
Service good and so is the food, good price
Rude, poor time management skills, disrespectful to say the least.
This cafe is cash only Hong Kong style cafe. Food mainly around $10.00. Drinks from $2.75 and up. Friendly service with good portion of food
Nothing better than the Big Brother!
Great late night eats. Won ton noodle soup, iced lemon tea and peanut butter french toast. Love this place.
This is one of the HK style cafe that we often go. The mike tea is good as well as the HK style food. The menus including drinks is cheap. Recommend for daily casual meal.
Good HK Cafe style restaurant/cafe. Sort of in a convenient location, near a lot of Asian stuff (across the plaza is 99 ranch, 85C, etc.). Good is pretty decent and price is not too high for the portion.
They serve classic Hong Kong style café food. The quantities of food have decrease and the price have went up after their remodeling. However, they are still the best I have in SF Metro area. They are not special if you compare to restaurants in Hong Kong, but I have not found better in the area.
Kids get a free drink. The service isnt that great. However, the bread is very yummy.
Great place. I have enjoyed doing business with them.
This isnt foodie food: its cheap and good. Very few places will get you decent Sampan Congee, Donut, and HK Milk Tea for under ten bucks, and Venus delivers.
Great food and the iced lemon tea was delicious,
Hong Kong style Cafe with reasonably good Hong Kong style milk tea.
Good food but its cash only
Nice place for Hong Kong-style cafe comfort food!
Good selection of Hong Kong style food. Good portion & love the HK style ice milk tea. Cash only, which a bit hassel sometimes. Wish they can take Apple or Android Pay.
I love food and this is one of the best Cantonese/Hong Kongese fusion cuisine restaurants in the whole Bay area. Yes, I had food in most of the so called high rated restaurants before. Food at Venus Tams cafe is good, the price is cheap and the portion is big. The building of this location is old. Lots of parking. also have another cafe in Brokaw road/Hostetter, San Jose area that tailor to high end menu (relatively speaking). Both open til 12am. Hope you enjoy this review. Barry
Late night eatery with a pretty large menu to choose from . This place has plenty of free parking, but like other reviewers have mentioned it is cash only . The food was ok I have had better and cheaper, one thing they could possibly change for the tomato beef add a little less tomato and maybe a tad more beef .
The category here is cheap eats HK fusion style. I didnt grow up with this stuff like my wife did. When we were dating and she took me to one of these HK cafes, I was like what is this stuff? Spaghetti done Chinese style? Rice and cheese? I get it now and Im also still married.
Food is great and yes it was busy but it doesnt justify a lower than 5 star review.
I like daily ever-changing menu choices A, B, and C. Some are surprises and definitely good.
Nice little Hong Kong style cafe that serves the usual noodles, congees and hybrid milk tea/coffee.
Food is delicious.. but i gave only 1 star about waiter, watress 👎🏻 (4pm-midnight saturday)
They have decent Hong Kong style food and milk tea
Awesome Hong Kong style food, the service is amazing here and very friendly waiter and waitress. I love their Hong Kong style lemon tea and milk tea, but definitely try out their sizzling plate meals!
The cafe offers attractive quick snacks during happy hours with complementary drink.
Food is good and the servers are friendly.
Good enough place that opens late
Food is okay. But service is horrible. Taking my food to wrong table. Food stayed wrong table for 30 seconds. And try to bring back to me without saying anything. Disappointed for going there for 10+ years.
Love the Mongolian beef..... great food with large amounts
Good food. Decent price.
Foods is very good also with HK style soup, service sucks also with the food presentation need to be improved
Our favorite place to go for comfort food!
Simply delicious. Best value for money.
I like the chow fun. Cash only!
Ask for changes from standard menu items and they always accommodate without price change.
Average Hong Kong-style fast food. Opens late.
Would have given 5 if they had jook. 🙄
Not enough selections, Same Menu Items for over 10 years. However the service fast and friendly
Great place for late-nite eats. The style of the food served is straight from Hong Kong. In a nutshell, its British/Western-influenced fare, but through the lens of Hong Kong. You wind up with dishes like wonton noodle soup, except macaroni is used in place of noodles, and diced spam and ham are used in place of wontons, giving you Ham and Spam Macaroni Soup, the warm and cozy food of my childhood. Open until 1am daily!
Food is not very appealing. Hot drink is not hot. Ingredients are not very fresh.
Not a bakery despite its name. And there are no photos of Venus either. However, you can get lots of food and the booths are comfy. Its very popular though, so be prepared to wait if you come during a customer surge.Apparently the restaurant models itself after a Hong Kong style eating establishment. My husband who had worked a lot in HK thought so as well. The menu is in English, but had things on there like sapghetti, petizers and macaron. Not the French type of macaron, mind you, but the typo kind. Many items come with tea/coffee, garlic toast, soup and dessert.I ordered chow fun w/ veggies and tofu ($7.25). TONS of noodles! In fact, between two of us, we couldnt finish the plate. Emphasis is on noodles. Too many for an appropriate veggie/tofu to noodles ratio. Recently got chow fun here and my daughter found a spider in it (!!!).Interesting items on the menu such as peanut butter and condensed milk toast. Drinks with Ribena, etc.Probably wont be back here again.
Cold Hainan chicken rice? Are u kidding me....
Hong Kong style food. Hong Kong prices 💰💰💰
Solid HK cafe stuff.
Big be portions low price, different than what you might find in most strip malls.
Good choice for Cantonese food! I always get the baked pork chop rice. Cash only.
Great service from Jon. . Thank you! 😊
My ATF spot for breakfast lunch and dinner. The 大哥大焗饭(Big Brother bake rice) is a must have for your first time visit.
Tasty late night cravings. Hong Kong chow mien.
Nice place to hang out with a friend
Food and drinks are what you would expect from a real Hong Kong Cafe.
Very good bake pork chop rice!!
Good value for the food
Cant pay with credit card here
With $6 happy hour lunch/dinner its hard to complain too much. Food was solid.
Great food and a good cost
Ok. Service fair.
Generally good!
Service isnt great, but its open really late, and the food is decent.
The service is inconsistent
Food are good.
Love their satay beef
Taste good
