My sister and I visited looking for a particular color of balloons - they were out at all the major box stores, but this Party City had what we needed! The staff was great with answering our questions and helping us find items. It was a good shopping experience.

Just had the absolute worse experience in Party City. About a week ago I went in looking for purple gift bags. They were sold out and I was told they should have some by then end of the week. I figured I would wait and come into the store and buy them rather than just order online. I try my best to support Brick and mortar businesses to help keep them in our local communities.I wait about a week and a half and call the store to check if they have the gift bags now in stock. Im told by Damion that they are in after being placed on hold to verify. I drive 20 minutes to get there and do not se any bags. I go to the counter to politely ask and m told they are right there.I tell Damon that I dont see them and that all of the spaces for the bags are empty. He comes over with an attitude, Sashays over and points to some plastic treat film pouches and rudely says It literally says treat bags right there and then rolls his eyes, quickly turns and walks away.I was flabbergasted at the rude and obnoxious interaction. I literally purchase tons of stuff here and can say that based on there now in store experience, I will just order from Amazon.I understand its hard to find people to work, but if they are running business away then its probably better to be short staffed with a sign. 8 dont mind waiting for service I get it but I wont accept rude and obnoxious service. I see why so .any stores are closing!

It was great! Lots of options. Found great stuff!I do hope they put Christmas stuff out in June and July for those off us that do Christmas in July. They leave us to ship with Amazon instead of with them. Just one isle would be great. Otherwise its an awesome store with very pleasant and helpful staff

Ordered balloons and one of them popped in the car. I called Party City and they made me another balloon and had it ready within 10 minutes. So grateful for the service and their good attitudes. Thanks to the gentlemen working the balloon station!

I came in looking for a specific costume and the young lady that helped me was very friendly. She really went out of her way to help me find it even making suggestions to ensure my satisfaction. Ty!

Great customer service. I when to get boolums for Superbowl LV. Got what I needed and when I got to the car one of my large boolums pop. I when back to the store and they replaced it without any problem.Thank you!

They have a real. Problem with their staff. They are not customer friendly and the service is slow. You wait too long for balloon orders and cannot find anyone when you have a question. They are very short handed. Not good when they are the only store like it in our town. Frustrating!

They just remodeled recently. I love what they did with the place. The staff is helpful and its a clean and organized store.

They seemed to be out of stock for graduation items. We were getting random birthday items. Clean and spacious. Expect to pay for convenience, inflating balloons cost was higher than expected.

Love this store ill go in there with my mind set on a PARTY or gathering idea ...get there and switch my whole idea but it ALWAYS turns out GRrreat!

Party city had so much sold out the day before a holiday. Despite that though, they had everything we needed. Their inventory and variety is massive and impressive. 10/10 would go back

Party city is doing a huge remodel. It definitely appears that most things are not on the shelves but they actually are. You just have to look closely and pay attention.

Store going through a revamp. 50% is torn apart and missing. Website for for store is far from up to date.. says in stock but staff informed me the items I was looking were in boxes and I should come back in a COUPLE WEEKS! The staff is rude as normal. Too bad this store is the only one like it around.

I like the new layout cant wait to see the completed renovations.

This was my first time going to Party City in Newport News. I went on New years Eve so, party City was quite busy. However, I enjoyed the experience that I had purchasing Ballons. The staff members were very attentive and polite.

I wish I could enter a -10 rating. Horrible experience. Wrong item was packed. After spending 30 minutes trying to call the store about the wrong item I was told to just bring it back and call the store and someone would bring the correct item right out. Left my house went back to the store. Followed the instructions provided - and was told that some one would be right out with the correct item. After waiting 15 minutes, I walked in and there was my item in a shopping cart in the middle of the floor. Who knows how long it would have taken them to bring it out. I could have saved myself about an hour and gas to just go inside, and do my own shopping.

Awesome.. they went above and beyond to complete my curb side order.. called me when something wasnt in stock.. and we were able to substitute items

Great atmosphere!

We dont usually come to this side of town to shop and this party city was definitely alot smaller then the one we usually go to in Chesapeake but still had the same concept and same products from what I seen.

Due to Covid, we had to have a virtual shower for my daughter who lives in Newport news. I live in California. I had placed an order from another company for decorations and they were supposed to be delivered o the 7th of January for the shower was on the 9th. However the decorations never showed up for my daughters virtual shower, so I contacted Party City on Jefferson and within an hour and a half of the shower, the manager of this party city in Newport news had the balloons and napkins together immediately! I was very pleased with their service and their concerns! I thank you for such great customer service!

There is definitely no party going on in this place,the staff are not welcoming at all. There is a whole bunch of empty shelves and the inventory is low or none in most isles.

Outstanding experience, I came in looking for balloons for my wife to celebrate the birth of our new son and the customer service was outstanding. The guys went out of their way to help me and ensure I was satisfied.

Terrible service. I understand they are busy and phone ringing off the hook, store a mess. They really need a register for people that do not want balloons. I hate that the Hampton store closed so I had to drive 30 minutes, found what I needed fairly quickly but then spent 30 min. In line for 2 items. One guy blowing up balloons and 2 people checking people out and answering phones, grabbing balloons alot seemed to be out of stock. I will go someplace else next time.

The customer service was sub-par as far as their curbside to go. Spoke with someone named Michael who later stated he was the manager told me you had to order online in order to use the curb side to go option. I was fine with that however; I was sitting in front of the store. The sad part was I did exactly what he stated, then I called back to ensure he got the order. Michael tells me he do not see it, never looked, & directed me to the 800 number. I asked him again is it anything you can do before I leave because I live 30 min away. He said no. I called 800 number stayed online before getting someone for 45 min. I got a representaive name Michelle, she tells me my order is at the store & will be ready for curb side pick up. Needless to say all of this could have been avoided if Michael the Manager used his common sense & customer service skills to assist. The service there has always been pitiful however; this is the 1st time I got a manager who was just as pitiful as his lazy associates. Dont waste your time with that curb side to go. The Dollar Tree is cheaper & you get better service. The 1 star I gave them was only because I could not give them a zero, for which they deserve.

This store is the worst I’ve seen so far. It’s running maybe on 50% available stuff but biggest issue is that it’s extremely dirty.It’s a shame what stores had been closed and they keep this one ?!!

Found things I needed at short notice

The shelves are completely unstocked. It’s impossible to find anything. The staff look like they’re between 18-21 and had no clue where anything was. I asked Tia if she could help me find a regular item that should have been near their birthday section and she took me to a Halloween item that looked similar but it was not the same. When i tried to show her the item that was online and marked as “in stock” near the occasion section she told me “no it’s right there you just have to look”I was so put off by how rude that was. Honestly this review only got two stars because two gentlemen tried to help me (even though they didn’t have any clue what they were looking for)

No costumes in stock. Staff was not helpful or attentive. Witnessed multiple people with the same issues not recieve assistance.

Slow for as many people who working the day I went. They were nice when I finally made it to the cash register. But it was a wait. The order I paid for online was not actually at the store and I had to buy another size. Charged twice for the same item. This is the second time its happened. I do not recommend purchase online with store pick up.

This place is not bad just you can tell they are in the middle of stocking things and with it being the halloween season seemed kinda late to be doing all that which made the store look empty as far as products. It has alot of options for what they had in stock so l just take it as an off day

Building is run down, I think they’re going out of business soon. The people are really nice and doing the best they can with what in my opinion is very little.

The shelves were all so bare! It looked like the place had been looted. The line was long and the service was slow. There were only 2 employees in the front. A lot of the items were dusty like they havent been touched in years. It was pretty disappointing.

This Party City is the only one on the Peninsula. Its my go to for party supplies whether its kids party, birthday, game day, graduation or wedding. Party City has what you need to make any occasion special. They also offer a 10 % military discount with proof of proper identification for your purchase.

Staff was great. Very friendly. A lot of empty displays. Could use some straightening. Hard to tell the cost of what you were purchasing because things were all over the place and many of the descriptions on the shelves were illegible.

Close the whole store down nothing was out on display for Halloween. Boxes of inventory everywhere !!! The stores been closed for months. the least they can do is unpack

Excellent graduation party supplies. They had the colors that we needed and in stock. Super excited!!I even used my coupon so I saved some money as well.Also walking the store, I found tennis items, which Ive never found before!! Plates, napkins, cupcake, candles, just adorable!The store was well stocked and organized. Super excited that we could buy a lot!!!!

I always go to Party City when Im in the mood to celebrate! They have a huge selection, and what you cant find in the store you can find on their website! Even if you dont know what theme you are going for, you will find inspiration while looking around in that store!

Was really disappointed when told one price by one associate when picking out balloons. To the price almost to tripling at the register. And the nickeling and diming when it comes to the latex balloons is a bit much. Not very happy when I left there this time around.

This store was a mess, i went in Saturday afternoon Oct 17th, there was boxes of stuff everywhere, you could barely shop, the staff was running around like children, they were not working, Ii got a few things stood inline, where only one person was ringing people out and 5 of the staff was down blowing up balloons, while 10 people where waiting to pay, so i waited and waited, then i just left, someone really needs to get control over there . you are losing business.

The store can be a little messy as they transition between seasons, but its easy to find what you need by section. Party City is almost always running a sale or clearance, especially after a particular holiday/event has passed (stock up for next year!).

Visited to buy decorations for my daughters birthday. Multiple shelves were empty and needed to be restocked. Store itself seemed very disorganized, needed general cleanup.

Everything you need for your parties. Big selection of themes that kids will love. Easy to customize also with all of the options available. Balloons, plates, cups, napkins, you name it, they have it. Even if you cant name it, they probably have it😜

Always one long check out line with just two cashiers. Prices are good, but the temperature in the store is always so hot, makes one want to leave in a hurry. You cant leave in a hurry because of the long slow check out line.

Great place to find a variety of party supply items. I love how everything from the decorations on down to the candy is color sorted to assist with your shopping needs. The prices are decent (Hobby Lobby beats their prices on numerous items but Party City offers more themes).

When a young Mom comes in with a toddler and ask for a balloon, how hard is it to blow up 1 balloon and check the customer out. “Sorry, we aren’t taking walk-ins.” What?! You’re a store...it’s a balloon. So Mom leaves with an upset crying toddler. Pathetic.

Have a great selection of supplies, but this store is disgusting and dirty. They really need to do some cleaning. There is all kinds of trash and half eaten candy all over the place. Just gross.

The store was a little messy and unorganized but eventually I was able to find what I needed for a graduation party. There was only 1 cashier open so the line was a bit of a wait. They no longer have the individual colored M&Ms which was a disappointment as these were needed for the colors themed graduation party. So we had to go to another store for this. Over all not a bad place to get basic party items and balloons.

Dropped by to purchase 3 fathers day balloons but they were sold out so I picked out an American flag balloon but they only had 2 so I said I would take them. They told me it would be 30 minute wait. I was the only one their so I asked why it would take 30 minutes to blow up two balloons and and they said they had orders ahead of me but I was the only one in the store. I told them to keep their balloons as they Dontneed my business.
