Need to go back and get a real feel for this store but you can smell the freshness of the spices and curries there

Amazing store! The owner and all of the employees are very kind. I also appreciate that the store is kept so clean. Kundan is the BEST place on the peninsula for fresh jackfruit. You can buy the whole fruit or buy it in a slices. I highly recommend this store.

The best Indian store ever. Thank you for saving our trips to Norfolk to get Indian groceries. The staff is very friendly and polite. Once I was looking for mamra (a rare kind of almond) to make some ladoos. The owner helped me in every possible way to try find them. They have extensive variety of all products an Indian household will need. THE BEST!!!

Best shop to come up recently in 2020. And you get everything that an Indian family needs. It’s a mini India. They have started keeping frozen mutton and fish also. It have a wide range and variety of all items that you usually find in any supermarket back in India. Their inventory is just amazing and it’s growing. The owner is very nice guy always keeps asking for suggestions and keeps the shop neat and clean. Earlier to get Indian food items either we used to travel Richmond or Virginia Beach but now we don’t have to worry. It’s truly a blessing that it opened in Newport News.Note:- I am reducing my previous rating by two stars as they are keeping expired items and if you forget to check Best before dates then there are chances that you would buy an expired one which you have to trash it after reaching home. As they don’t entertain returns.

Good store, friendly service and lots of Indian spices and snacks

We have close friends from and living in India and often share recommendations for vegetarian meals. So we have a lot of dishes made from recipes of India every week. Finding spices and other ingredients from India, and fresh vegetables was always a challenge. Traveling 45 minutes to Virginia Beach was our only option. The opening of the Kundan grocery store in Newport News, Virginia, this year was a blessing.Kundan is an amazing store to browse through and has a lot character with a wide range of products from India including spices, dals, attas, pickles, yogurts, paneers, fresh vegetables, oils, bread, rices, sweets, frozen foods (parathas, roti, vegetables, meals), beer, hair products, etc.I have been going to this store weekly ever since it opened. The staff are friendly and very helpful. One day I was acquiring ingredients for making Poha. Indore poha to be more specific. The staff at the Kundan store new and had exactly what I needed and also offered recipe variations. The recipe variations were very well received by my family. 🙏🏼 Thank you so much Kundan.This store is so well maintained and stocked that I now purchase spices, dals, etc., and ship them to relatives that do not have access to ingredients from India.You’ll find every ingredient that you’ll need for making authentic dishes from India at this store.

This is a great store for desi grocery shopping with a wide variety of all necessary items needed for traditional South Asian cooking. It features a big frozen grocery section featuring many types of naan and roti selections, desi frozen vegetables, and even traditional desserts. This is also the cleanest desi grocery store Ive visited in North America. To top it all off, the owner is extremely nice and helpful. What a great addition to this areas desi grocery shopping scene. Way to go!

I have been shopping at Kundan International for months now. The extraordinary service, friendliness, and high-quality products sets this Asian store apart from its counterparts in the area. Delivered twice weekly, the produce is fresh, with abundant choices for variety. The store is neat, clean and well maintained. They offer curbside pick-up service, which has been, and I cannot emphasize this enough - a huge blessing to me. Every time I have shopped here, in-store or picked up curbside, the service has been exemplary - above and beyond expectations. And always with a smile. It is a pleasure to shop here!

Impressed by the way the store has been kept and maintained. Very clean, managed and organized grocery store. It was so easy to pick up stuff and walk into the isle as every other grocery stores usually is so crowded, stuffs falling down or overloaded shelves. This place is so well maintained that I felt spending more time exploring it. Nicely displayed rates of the commodities. Staff is helpful. Almost all the top brands and best quality products. My first visit here made me a fan of this place. I have lived in many states here, but this store is the best for a reason. And the reason is its very well maintained.

I love this place, tons of spices, good prices. More Indian than middle east. I just wish they start halal meat and restaurant.

This place is so good. Clean and well managed . Prices are reasonable. The good thing they got fresh vegetables twice a week. Anything you request to bring for you, they will make sure to bring it . Last but not least Owner and the girl works there are down to earth, always welcoming and ready to help .

I shop at KIG regularly and every time I had very good experience. Store is very clean, everything fresh and at reasonable price. KIG also provide curb side pickup. i would recommend this store to anyone who want to shop at this store.

Please check expiration date before buying stuff from this store. Many times we found the biscuits and cakes expired.

They are selling lamb’s meat in name of goat meat. They are not trustworthy.... be careful while shopping in this store.

WOW FINALLY WE HAVE A INDIAN GROCERY STORE IN NEWPORTNEWS . I REALLY LIKE THE PLACE AND THE OWNERS THEY ARE VERY DOWN TO EARTH AND ARE VERY FRIENDLY. EVERYONE NEEDS TO CKME AND SUPPORT THIS LOCALLY OWNED INDIAN BUSINESS.

Its a nice place not completely completed yet. Its more like an indian grocery store than international as they describe just a lil fyi before you go.I went there for Pakistani products arent much there niether are japanese or korean. They said though that they will be bringing in more as they are still building up and are more focused on Indian community.Will keep you guys updated.Im just glad to have a big desi store in this area as there arent many here like northern virginia. Good wishes to you guys hopefully you will add up more to your products n will actually make it an international store✌
