Took my bike in for some repairs. The service manager quote was spot on. I noticed some missing or mismatched bolts on the windshield and upper fairings . Wasn’t like that when i dropped my bike off . My steering damper was put on backwards. Which is kind of alarming peered with missing bolts . Due to the amount of work i got done regarding radiator fuel / plugs .I feel like the work at the end was sloppy so i hope everything holds up …..

Their service department has very knowledgeable Mechanics who can diagnose the problem in a hurry and get your toy up and running in a hurry, but communication between mechanics and the client seem to lack strongly. I recently brought my bike (Honda 250x) in for maintenance. It needed carb and valve work. They did a great job cleaning the carb and flushed the fuel system, but the bike still needed valve work. After completing the fuel system, I got a call from one of their mechanics and had a good informative conversation on their previous work, and discussed different routes I could go/ have done on fixing the value problem. I gave the go ahead for the mechanic to tear into the valves but asked that he would inform me on the damage found once inside the top end as I wanted a stainless steel valve conversion kit installed and seated ( based off of my research and conversation/ verbal agreement with the mechanic on the phone.) Sadly the call reporting the damage never came in. I got a call a few days later however saying my bike was ready to be picked up. In the process of picking it up I learned that the left side inlet valve was completely shut and the right one was almost closed too, and had been shimmed. I asked why my verbal agreement over the phone with the mechanic hadn’t been carried out and got a run around leave me alone, get out of here, I’m busy answer.I don’t know if the problem was due to a lack of communication between mechanics, or a mechanic being lazy and just wanting to do his own easy temporary fix. Either way I’m left very unsatisfied with a temporary fix I did not want done and had to pay dearly for. Hopefully it’ll last me a day’s worth of riding. When the time comes to re-shim/replace the valves on my bike I will really look at taking it elsewhere as the “Cycle City Services Center” has lost all integrity in my eyes.In short, I believe their mechanics to be very knowledgeable in small engine repair and can get your toy fixed in a hurry but, it may not get fixed the way you request it to be.

I went in to check out the motorcycle Im looking to purchase and compare prices/motorcycles as well. I spoke with a salesman and he was far from informative. When I asked him questions he just responded for the most part with a one word answer like sure or yeah. He did speak at times but I can feel he really wasnt trying to help me or sell me a bike.I tried to get him to engage but I guess he wasnt into talking too much. I cant speak on all the salesman there but this guy was definitely not inviting. I was hoping to get more information and more of a feel for the bike but I wasnt feeling the vibe too much so I left earlier than expected. Im pretty sure customer service isnt like this with everybody there but with my experience on this day was poor. Ill just take my business elsewhere.

2016 FJR1300ES 2nd Gear Recall Work SIX STARS to CCC Service Dept!!!Ok so it isn’t every day you are face with the prospect of a life-or-death recall where the entire transmission must be replaced, complete with removing the engine from the rest of the chassis, flipping the engine upside down, and separating the cases down to parade-rest. I received this Yamaha recall letter in January 2021. Yamaha was even stating not to ride the bike at all because the 2nd gear materials (not forged steel) could crack creating a potential complete lockup of the drive chain at highway speed. NOT GOOD!!! My 2016 FJR1300ES only had about 6k miles – I won’t go into why here, but the bike is in excellent, near new shape. I called around to various Yamaha shops in the area and afar, and most people of those discussions I detected full BS meter deflection or they just had no idea about the job. I landed on Cycle City Corp (CCC) in Newport News. Chris the Service Manager picked up the phone. I had a very good feeling speaking with Chris. I told him I was very apprehensive about the safety aspects of this job and whether the bike would ever be the same as factory. His “I understand completely but this is where we are” response was spot on. He advised me that they had just done their first FJR and mine would be their second, and because it is Winter, timing was good from their perspective. I think the job called for 16 hours but took over twenty for the first bike and about 20 for mine. So, thinking it through, I felt I wouldn’t want to be the very first but number two sounded pretty good – probably better than number 20 for that matter.Removing all the hard bags, I took the bike in late February 2021 and the job had taken them about a week. It was hard to depart CCC that day looking back at the bike, I thought it may never be back to factory build. After a week of work, and some bad weather, and an unfortunate COVID breakout at CCC (I hope everyone fared well) I picked the bike up first week in March. I brought all the tools including metric wrenches, three sizes of torque wrenches, hex head drivers, LED flashlights, and a complete set of photos of both sides of the engine case that I took prior to dropping the bike off. I came expecting the worst-case scenario. I did forget my shop manual. The service manager Chris met me with my bike. I rode it out of the shop and parked it just outside for a compete inspection on the center-stand. I spend about 45 minutes of looking her over, referencing photos I had taken prior to drop-off, looking for signs of any issues. To my pleasant surprise, the bike looked very clean with no evidence of concern. Fasteners, cables, hoses, all factory placed as before. I found two very small, incidental “corner oil deposits” but I expected some of this as evidence of the job of this magnitude. I dabbed the minute deposits away with a shop towel. I decided the bike was ready for a ride. I took her on a 10-mile block trip getting up to 65 mph with plenty of gearing stops. The bike was smooth as before with no noticeable differences in ride characteristics and shifting. Returning to the CCC Corp, put her up on the center-stand again and commenced another careful inspection. Bike look clean with no issues noted. I decided to head back home with my wife following behind, another 25 miles reaching 75mph highway speeds and above all, rebuilding my confidence once again in the machine. Yamaha has been making the FJR for 25 years with a long history of reliability. Returning home, I noted no issues after yet another center-stand inspection, no signs of incidental leaks or whatever. Hours later after cool down, no issues noted on the card board I placed under the bike.So to Chris at CCC Corp, and his Service Tech(s) that did the work – I offer my sincerest THANK YOU for a job well done!!! As I continue to rebuild my confidence in this machine, I feel strongly your attention to detail, skill sets, and customer care will certainly work to get me there quickly.

DO NOT GET SERVICE DONE HERE!Brought my motorcycle in for a clutch job. $1200 and three weeks later, they told me the clutch job was finished, but there must be something else wrong because the clutch was still slipping, and they wouldnt have time to investigate further until two or three months later. I took the bike to Honda of Norfolk (GO HERE - ITS WORTH THE DRIVE!), and they performed a clutch replacement (cheaper than Casey), and got it done in three days. After speaking with Dave at Norfolk, he told me Casey DID NOT REASSEMBLE THE CLUTCH CORRECTLY - and THAT was the reason it was still slipping. So, Casey charged me $1200 for a job they did NOT do.I contacted Casey and told them to speak with Dave. After admitting to me they did not reassemble the clutch correctly, all they did was offer to buy back the parts (which Im sure theyll just refurbish and use on someone elses bike - so theyll be out virtually $0!). I told them I feel Im at least due back half the labor costs. They refused, even conceding that they completely botched the clutch jobIve been a customer with Casey for 20 years. Im a police motorcycle instructor for almost all the police departments in the Hampton Roads area. Ive purchased numerous motorcycles over the years, and have always gone to Casey for repairs, fluid changes, etc. Casey is willing to throw all that away for about $700 worth of labor costs - on a job on which THEY READILY ADMIT they screwed up.This is Casey Cycle City, ladies and gentlemen. Theyll get to your bike when they get to your bike, theyll say they performed a job, give you back a broken bike, charge you full price for the job, admit later they did a very poor job, and not make it right with the customer.I cant recommend Honda of Norfolk enough! Everyone there was polite and courteous, and they *correctly* performed a clutch job in a matter of days. I live seven minutes from Casey, and I will never step foot in there again. The 40-minute drive to Norfolk is well worth the trip. Talk to Dave Hunter; tell him Kevin sent you.AVOID CASEY CYCLE CITY LIKE YOUR BIKE AND CHECKING ACCOUNT DEPENDS ON IT - BECAUSE IT DOES!

Was happy with my new ATV until I took a really close look at the paperwork. We paid $400 for setup fee and $400 for delivery fee. While that maybe standard it was definitely skipped over by Kevin, my salesman, when going over the fees. He also went over the fees after my husband left so I had no backup or another set of eyes to look over the paperwork. I also found it weird that Kevin suggested I be the person to sign the paperwork and got my husband to agree to it. Possibly because Im a woman or because I was in a massive hurry. Dont know, either way I would be very careful while going over the paperwork. They didnt even fill the gas tank full, only 1/4 tank. After $800 in fees you cant bothering filling the tank? I am very disapointed in the response from this business who is an authorized Kawasaki dealer, however, I am glad this happened as I will not be buying the ATV I had my eye on from them. God forbid I needed any warranty work done on it. To make a long story short, I needed some Kawasaki warranty work done on my motorcycle. From the start of the conversation it was clear they were not interested in doing warranty work. I knew where the conversation was going as soon as they asked did I buy the bike from them and told them no. Told me that they couldnt get me in for three weeks or so. Then explained the warranty process in a fashion to where I guess he was hoping I would just give up. Anyways, SUNRISE CYCLES in Norfolk got me in next day and were extemely helpful. I have given Cycle City a few chances to earn my business over the past 20yrs and have been disappointed every time, this is a shame considering how local to me they are, business must be really good to treat any customer badly.....shame on this business.Update: Thanks for the explanation, it really explains why I received poor service, I appreciate your honesty. I guess business is so good you can pick and choose who gets 5 star service and who gets 1 star. Well, at least anyone who reads this review, along with your reply, can expect that if what they bring to you wasn’t initially purchased from you, they can expect second rate service. Nice to know what businesses to avoid. As a business owner I know for certain that the business model you “stand by” is very short sighted. Good luck.

I went to Casey for the basics I needed, helmet gloves and whatever else I needed. The parts store personnel were excellent and helping me get the things I needed and also offered advice and some of the things I might need to have done to my bike, it took me back and introduced me to the service personnel. Everybody was polite and helpful, and within a month I was bringing my motorcycle in for in an inspection. When I was waiting for my bike to be inspected I looked around the showroom and looked outside and found a used bike theyre really caught my eye. I then proceeded to speak to Kevin one of the salesman, and he helped me in every way to get a good deal on my trade and put me on the bike I wanted. I stopped into this place a couple of times to look at a couple different motorcycle models. I am in the market to buy a motorcycle and there were two different models that were offered at this dealership that I was interested in. My first visit, I spoke with one salesman named Brian Barringer. He was really nice. I told him I would be back in a few days with my wife to show her the models I was interested in. However, when my wife and I went back on Saturday, 2/11/17, we were not at all treated like customers, but more like an annoyance. We got there at about five minutes till 4 PM. All the bikes were already put inside, but the main entrance door was propped open. So we parked our vehicle and went to go inside. A man met us at the door, said they were closed, shut the door, and locked it. The sign on the door said they closed at 4 PM. It was still a few minutes till 4pm. He did not offer any help. The only thing he did say is that they are closed and shut the door in our faces. This has made my decision very simple. Although I may buy one of those models of motorcycle they offered, it will not be through this dealership.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I havent dealt with CCC as a company but I have dealt with one of their mechanics on a personal deal on a bike he had. This so called mechanic was recommended by someone I work with who also knows him. He told me the mechanic has a few bikes he might sell, I said okay so once I got in touch with him and went and saw what he had i talked to him on a price on one and told him i would have to make payments which was fine with him. About a week later i bring the first payment to him everything is still cool he tells me thats hes going to order me an exhaust for it and just got done putting the new windscreen on, and also told me a couple other obvious things that were wrong with it which i was okay with. The following week i got the rest of the money and told him i would be by to pick it up and finish paying him for it. Granted it was faster than what he thought i would be back with the money and i didnt expect to be back that soon either but it worked out. Once i got there we loaded it up gave me the title and everything was good.....or so i thought. I just bought my first bike i was ready to get it legal and ride, well it didnt happen like that. For maybe a week or so after i got the bike Im still in contact with the mechanic which by the way made me feel better about buying the bike because he is a mechanic. Well now the its legal and its riding good then one day i go to ride turned the bike on put it in gear and it shuts off ???? i try it again same thing happens so I call him and tell him whats going on he tells me to put the kick stand up, okay cool that works,. Now bout a couple weeks later Im and I lose all power to the bike just like that and it wont start back up so when I finally get it back home I call him again tell him whats going on and he tells me thats a good question (after he told me that he has been all through the bike and had it down to nuts and bolts) and thats the last i heard from him, and this was back in April its now October and Im still having problems. Bottom line is if he wasnt willing or even able to tell me what was wrong how do you know hes telling his boss what is wrong so it can be fixed instead of just saying its fixed and letting it go. He was just happy to get my money and be done, some mechanic. Now that Ive dealt with him I dont even trust them as a company.

I end up heading to the front counter to check out the gloves which I knew exactly what I wanted and was ready to purchase. Another gentleman greeted us... no hello, no name... Im assuming you want gloves? I asked the gentleman if I could see a particular set of textile/leather gloves which he then told me you dont want those because its going to be too hot... then hands me something completely different with less padding and more airflow. I said no thanks Id like to see the set I requested please. The gentleman said fine, suit yourself. grabbed the gloves and tossed them onto the counter in front of my hands which were open, ready to have them handed, to me. Rude. As. Ever. Their sales department is ruthless, they probably train their salesmen to be unfriendly and arrogant. On one occasion, I stopped in to look at used bikes. The salesman told me You wont find any bike for sale during peak season. As if I was stupid. The second time, I called and asked if they bought bikes. After hearing how much they offered, I instinctively laughed a bit because it was 25% of the value of the bike. The Salesman told me, Whats so funny? This isnt a comedy show, I dont see whats so funny. Then hung up on me. Called back and asked to speak to his manager, he responds in a sassy tone I am the manager (Obviously not), youre not speaking to anyone. And then proceeds to hang up on me AGAIN! Baffled by how unprofessional they are. Although the operator seems sweet, their sales department can take a hike. Obviously on two separate occasions its not the the sales guys fault, its the store itself. If you want to promote professional and fair business ethics, dont shop here.

Ive went to the store a few times since Ive lived in the area. The employees that work in the Parts Store are great and very helpful. I cannot say the same for the Salesman. This isnt based off of a one time experience. I will save you the details, but you would be doing your self a favor taking your money somewhere else. Rude Salesman, Great Staff in the Parts Store.

Call the service department to install and balance a tire on my rim on a 06 109r, the gentlemen told me 35:00 dollars and I found that a fair price but them he ask me did you purchase the tire from me ?, I said no, so he said, well is 50:00 dollars now. I purchase a 14,000.00 dollars motorcycle from then, and because this attitude will be my last one.

Nice folks in parts Dept. Not impressed with that attitude of the sales staff. I have been in several times to look and ask questions about a new wing. I wasnt ready to buy yet so they didnt have time for me. Ill ship bike parts, but my next bike will be purchased somewhere else.

Called to see if the could service my bike and it being a bmw they told me no. And thats totally understandable since they done sell them. However I called back to get a quote on a simple tire swap. And they wont even do that 😂😂 seems kinda sad and a big loss in revenue on such a minor job. Was told they only service what they sell. So their mechanics are incapable of changing a tire on another brand motorcycle? Seems kinda odd since there is absolutely nothing special in regards to changing this tire.... Simple 110/80-19&150/70-17. If they cant change a tire I would recommend staying away from all other services as a tire change is as simple as it gets. But if they dont want free money then I sure can take my money and give it to one of their competitors. GladlyAlso. My bike has less than 500miles. Finding something else wrong is very unlikley and cycle citys excuse they used is just sad in all honesty. Please take your money elseware as I will gladly

This is my first experience with the service side of cycle city. I called in yesterday about a problem I was having with my freshly rebuilt motor. They put me in contact with the service manager who was very knowledgeable on my motor and asked me to check a few things and get back to him. I checked when I got home and that wasnt the issue so I called the service manager back. He told me to bring it on by and he would look at it for free if it was something simple. I get over there a hour or so later and me and the mechanic took the cylinder head cover off so he could inspect my valves, cam, and cam chain. All of those checked out and we put it back together. The mechanic gave me some good advice if I wanted to take it home and check more than what we could in the back of my pick up or leave it with him but it was going to cost about 3 hours of labor. That alone I believe is great customer service and if I have any problems in the future ill be sure to ask them first.

Military beware.....cycle city corp thinks because your in the military you must be an idiot ! Inflated pricing with a promise of a discount (back down to retail)..dont wast your time...long drive to be lied too,I called Cycle World in cycle citys parking lot...I talked to the general manager told him what happened..He promised to treat me right and he did. They had the bike I wanted, and the color..Smooth transaction at a fair price...I recommend Cycle World...Stay away from cycle city

Some of the salesmen are ok, most dont really care about getting you on a bike that youll actually like, and give you incorrect information on the aftermarket accessories for the bike

I ordered a part from these guys and got the wrong part. Its not a problem; as the manager of an auto parts store, I understand that these things happen. I called back and had the fellow order the correct one. I GAVE HIM THE CORRECT PART NUMBER and after driving 30 miles, I discovered that he ordered a different number.Im not going to give them another chance. I tried to buy my motorcycle from them a few years ago, but I couldnt get the sales staff to do anything but kick tires. I guess this attitude carries over into parts.
