I knew going in thatI was paying an above market price for my bus tires. I deemed it too risky to drive to Corvallis, so I agreed to the $904 price. During the installation process, 4 contiguous lug studs were stripped. Not only did I have to wait for 4 days to get replacements for the parts they ruined, but I got charged for them, and $56 dollars for the labor. When I voiced my anger at this, the owner, Mark, asked me to explain what they could have done differently. Clearly, this trick has worked in the past. I don’t know, Mark. I’m not a mechanic. I do know that nobody learned a lesson, except me. Your young techs will continue to ruin Parts. No biggy. The customer will just pick up the bill.$904 for 2 tires + $99 for the 4 bolts = $1003
This place got me in and out in the middle of my road trip. Had a flat repair with a nail in the tire. I appreciate these guys immensly.
Stopped by this morning after having a blow out on our rental car. Rental company said it was my responsibility. Even though they gave me a car with 4 bald tires to go on a 1000 mile road trip up the coast. Anyways my car was ready and on the road in less than 2 hours and. They qouted me 95 for a new tire which is extremely fair and honest pricing. Then when he rings me up said they had a used tire so I only paid 40 bucks!!!! Wish I had a shop like this where I live! Good to see a honest mechanic. Would give more stars if possible!
Pacific Tire and Brake saved our vacation! We were driving through Newport when our rental car started making a high pitched screeching sound when we braked. Pacific Tire and Brake was the closest auto body shop and they were so fast and helpful. It turned out a small rock got stuck between the brake pads. They gave us the rock as a souvenir and sent us on our way without charging us. This review is a long time coming, and I feel guilty I forgot to write one sooner. Every year when the pictures of our trip pop up on Google, I’m reminded of their kindness and generosity. We have some great memories from our Oregon trip, and Pacific Tire and Brake were part of that.
This place would have received 5 stars from me except for its customer service. Went in to have new tires installed. 4 hours later, I was on my way back home. It appears, from returning customers, that they may have had the same experience for they all arrived with a ride. Would have been nice if that had been told to me when making the appointment.
Came in for a tire balance, and I ended up also paying to have two slow leaks repaired due to bead leakage. This was fine, except that I was not asked and did not authorize the additional repair. Not too big a deal. I didnt complain. A bigger problem was that when I got home and looked under the car to see if everything looked okay, I saw that one of the boots on my tie rod was twisted 180 degrees and had a hole in it. It was brand new. I had just had the tie rods and boots replaced, which is why I needed the alignment. I did not go back to complain, so I cant bellyache too much since I didnt ask them to make it right. Everyone was nice, and the place seemed well run. Perhaps it was just a rare goof up. I have this to say, it pays to inspect repair work. Mechanics are human, and they can overlook things or, occasionally, be less than forthcoming about how the repair went. I suspect the former is true in my case.
My Jaguar convertible needed 4 new tires they found them in less than 24 hours installed quickly under 2 hours pricing beat out other local tire shops. Customer service amazing!!! Will definitely come again.
Appointments are taken without regard to ability to service the cars.I had the first appointment of the day. At lunch time, when I expressed concern for needing my car by 6pm, I was told they had a lot of appointments for the day. At that time my car was still in the parking lot, not on the lift (after 3.5 hours there). In the end, I was charged $25 for a 5 minute procedure I saw how to do on YouTube.... and the same issue came back 2 days later
We have used this company many times for our car. They are very friendly they have great prices and very good mechanics. Would highly recommend.
Mark and Rolley run a REALLY GREAT garage. Easy to work with, fair pricing and they do a thorough job. Kind folks. Will take my van there again.
Pacific Tire & Brake is top notch service and expertise bumper to bumper on my 13 Ford Ecape, Mark and his employees are super nice guys. Made an appointment for my brakes and asked if they could check out some warning lights on my dash. I live in Newport and was referred by my boss Joanne who has taken her Corvette and all her cars & trucks to Mark for years! Mark and his team of experts ran diagnostics on my car and found several problems and fixed them ALL and save me thousands on my bill! Thank you Mark! ! !...oh and my brakes were done great job!
Sooo helpful. Had a low tire and he came right on out, checked the pressure and filled it right then and there for me, and gave me a new cap for the one I was missing! In and out in less than 5 minutes! So amazing! Thank you so much!
We took our Jeep in for brakes and a tire rotation. Turns out our brakes are fine so the just rotated the tires. The HONESTY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE was by far the best we have err ever experienced. Oh and by the way the brake inspection was NO CHARGE and they just rotated the tires for free because they had them off... 5 stars doesnt seem adequate... Thank you gentlemen...
These guys are very nice.
The last couple of times we have taken our cars to Rolli and Mark at Pacific Break and Tire we have been treated fairly and with kindness. We had some pretty sudden and urgent repairs needing to be done (break wise) and they had no problem fitting us in! We will definitely keep bringing our cars here! Great customer service!! :)
Excellent, above par service. The best auto repair shop in Newport. The Best!
Less than 24 hour turnaround on a shocks/struts job where the parts had to be ordered from Portland! They called with an estimate at 5:30, and my car was ready by 10:30 the next day. The price, service, and people were great! I will definitely be back for business in the future!
These guys are great! Mark will work with you to get your car in and get the job done under any circumstances, he’s very accommodating. The guys in the shop are knowledgeable, do a great job, and if it ain’t right will make it so. They go the extra mile. My car runs so much better than it did before, thanks guys! Vicki Gburczyk
The owner is the most amazing guy and Pierce is priceless
We brought our out of state vehicle in because the AC quit working. I have had to do this before in other states in the past, and you always worry that once they realize you were out of state, they are going to take it manage of you. This gentleman did not do that. They diagnose the problem, and because I could not leave it with them to repair as we did not have time, they let me slide on the bill all together. You can trust him to be honest, but I cannot speak to pricing. I will say that you get what you pay for it, and if I have the time I would’ve went with him I have had to do this before in others states in the past, and you always worry lies you were out of state, they’re going to take it manage of you. This gentleman did not do that. They diagnose the problem, I am because I could not believe it with them to repair as we did not have time, they let me slide on the bill altogether. You can trust him to be honest, but I cannot speak to pricing. I will say that you get what you pay for, and if I have the time I would’ve went with them.
Friendly staff helped me with recycling when Oreilly said they were too busy.
Family owned business, great people. They did a great job for you with fair price.
Simply the best in town. Honest and reliable, and generous as well. On more than one occasion theyve done some work on my vehicles and either not charged me or charged very little. I recommend Pacific Tire and Brake without hesitation.
I just finished working with Mark on a little project updating his i Scan-II WT. It was a pleasure. He has the best European and Asian scanner in his shop.He was quick and a great customer to work with.If you have an European car you will be in great hands at this location! If you see a check engine light, stop by and talk to Mark, he will help you to understand what you may need to do.
Bought four new tires here almost a year ago - great service and they do free rotations! They are my go-to tire guys! Very straight forward and informative. When pricing new tires they gave me all the options and let me choose without trying to sell me things I didn’t need.
Awesome!! VERY helpful and affordable!!
I cant say enough great things about this place. We were passing thru town to find our RV needed a rare part. They helped us get the part, loaned us a vehicle and gave us personal service Ive never gotten anywhere. You dont find service like theirs often. I would highly recommend them for your service needs. Thank you for treating our family like your own. I appreciate what you did for us!!!
Great place and very helpful. They care about educating the customer and that to me is what sold us on getting our new tires from Pacific tire and brake.
The best little garage on the coast Got a proper alignment and brake job done on my truck and i was happy to give them the money, and wanted to give them more, the prices are affordable and will recommend to anyone if you have the time and money go HERE first to fix you car /truck or RV
Full service and fully equipped auto and RV repair shop family owned by a father (80 years old and still working!) and son. I dropped in for a tire repair and was out in 15 minutes at very reasonable cost.
Good mechanics good prices.
Top notch place to have your vehicles tuned up or fixed if it has left you by the side of road. Rollie is just the awesomest person ever, and his son Mark is a character. So from tires new or used or a rebuild on your transmission, to a full engine swap they can take care of you. Ooooooooo they are honest about pricing the cost for repair, they wont take advantage of ya like a lot of places do.
We were on vacation and something went wrong with the brakes. Half of the shops in Newport we went to didnt even care to talk to us, so we went to this place and these guys were incredibly gracious in explaining the problem in simple terms, getting parts and making sure we were on the road in less than 2 hours and they charged us for 30 minutes of labor. Needless to say we didnt spend hundreds of dollars nor felt like some tourists rather were treated with respect by people who seemed to care about their reputation.
We drove our 1993 class A motorhome from Illinois to the coast and we were getting ready to head back so I wanted to get an oil change... I brought it in the Friday before Labor Day, they did the oil change and noticed the rear axle was leaking into the passenger side rear brakes. They close at noon on Saturday and considering the holiday weekend they would not be open until Tuesday. We were planning on leaving Sunday... They got the parts in and stayed open late on Saturday and got us back on the road safely to head back to Illinois. We made it home safely and drove though some 8%-9% grade mountains with confidence. Very friendly and busy shop, Im so glad I chose them for the oil change. Thanks everyone at Pacific Tire & Brake!
Drove our sons car here from wisconsin and had to have the rotors machined. It wasnt going to be done til the next day so the owner gave us his truck to use til it was fixed. Great service! We would highly recommend them to anyone.
Love this place cheapest best work in town better than Les Schwab by far
The most honest tire shop I have used in Newport! I took my car in because my heater fan was making noise, thought it was broken and I needed a new one. When I picked it up they gave me a bag full of insulation that had been used to make a Mouse nest! All I had to pay for was the labor.
Our car broke down on a holiday weekend with a dead fuel pump. Someone stopped on the highway and gave us a ride into town. The nice people recommended that we have our car towed to Pacific Tire and Brake for repair. Monday was Labor Day so Tuesday morning we were there at 7:30 AM when Pacific Tire and Brake opened. The friendly man opening the shop said that they could probably get our car repaired the same day. He offered to lend us a loaner car while ours was getting repaired, a Cadillac. I dont recall being offered a loaner car by any other repair shop in 20 years. “Most of the crew comes in around 9 AM,” he said, “so well start on yor car then.” We went off to get breakfast and see the tourist sights while they worked. They phoned us about 9:30 and gave us a firm estimate for the repair, about what we expected to pay. Sometime after lunch we drove past and saw our car up on a hoist with a couple of mechanics working away on its underneath. Their work was done about 3:30 PM so we got a call and went to get our car. The bill was only what had been estimated. I found out from talking to the old guy at their desk that they have to own a special $1,800 polution abatement machine for draining a fuel tank in order to work on fuel pumps in Oregon.Pacific Tire and Brake has a name that doesnt begin to describe their full service car and RV repair shop. It apparently began as a tire shop decades ago but has expanded and now is full service repair. After our good experience I can understand why the local gentleman recommended them to us when we were stranded with a broken down car.
Paid for a new tire waited in the lobby till complete went to get in my car an noticed that they charged me for a brand new tire but had put my old tire back on dude even mounted and balanced it and claimed he didnt notice diagnostic is 90 bucks an hour and they have no clue how long it will take allowing them to charge whatever they want I left there got 4 new tires at the les shwabs then went to Ricks car care and got great service car was repaired well and fast at ricks
Great friendly knowledgable people. Have been here a few times and will continue to.
The guys in the shop seemed nice and competent. What I didnt like was being charged over $300 for rear brakes pads on a Honda Odyssey.
I received a good deal on 2 tires...pleasent owner
Pacific Tire treats our 2013 Subaru Outback better than the dealer, and they are 50 miles closer!
Roly and his crew have been taking care of all of our maintenance and repair needs for over ten years for our two cars and an RV. We trust them to get us back in operation quickly when a problem happens. We get a fair deal on tires as well as service. We wouldnt go anyplace else!
They do very honest work for you with great respect. I take all my cars are now.
Nice knowledgeable mechanics who treat you and your vehicle with care.
Excellent service, and very professional staff.
Expert car mechanics with clear explanation of the problem. Highly recommended!
Very nice people and very helpfully
I was told my tire was unfixable ordered a new tire went to Gerber tire since the mounting was half the price they were able to fix my tire that was unfixable as well, saved the money and gained a spare and a returning customer.
Passing through with trailer problems. Somehow they found parts and got us back on the road in 4 days, 2 of which were Sat& Sun!!😎😎😎
Always friendly and helpful...the best
Very great service and people
Terrible place.
Helpful, pleasant
My go to place for tire service.
Over charged
Very good service. We have an RV where the spare wheel was loose, they have rectified this for FREE!
We are French and we perforated our tire on a parking lot 500 meters from this garage and the time to change the wheel was 18h05. we arrived around 18h10 so after closing.the boss accepts us despite everything and we replaced the tire in 30 minutes for a price very correct.I particularly recommend this garage which was professional and very pleasant.
