When you stay in Newport, you need to visit Liberty Donuts for breakfast. Much more than a normal donut shop, Liberty offers much more ranging from coffee to their acclaimed breakfast sandwiches. Moreover, their custom donuts are made to order right in front of you - something very few members of the competition can say themselves. Only downside is indoor dining was closed when I went!

First of all, the two ladies in the shop hustle! They were making fresh donuts, breakfast sandwiches, coffees, etc. on the fly. Kudos to them. I got a plain and glazed donut and they were both literally right out of the fryer / warm and tasty. About to sink my teeth into their bagel with cream cheese. Awesome spot!

Came on a Sunday morning and the shop was pretty quiet. Tried the #1 Liberty Donut and it tasted great! The donuts are served warm and are the perfect mix of crispy and soft. The shop itself could use a little sprucing up which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. Definitely worth a try though especially if youre a donut fan.

Served by Connor and Anthony who showed great professionalism and a care for their work. The donuts were great and I would definitely eat there again. They also offer an amazing discount for service members which is always nice to see.

It was my first time being around the area and decided to try out this donut shop. The options were clearly interesting to try so why not? Donuts were made fresh - didn’t take too long at all. Only down side is that not all donuts were the same size.. I had at least two that were a little bigger than a munchkin size.. would’ve been great if they were all the same size. Overall taste was good. Loved how warm they were and was able to enjoy them later on in the day as well.

We had an excellent experience at Liberty Donuts. The shop was very clean, had many seating areas, and had friendly employees. One of the best parts was watching the staff make the donuts right in front of our eyes, which is something that makes this place unique. In addition, the donuts were delicious. They have a variety of donuts as well, from smores to vanilla frosted. I definitely plan on returning to this donut shop, as the donuts were delicious and the employees were very friendly.

Donuts were fresh/ made to order and delicious. We enjoyed the classic sugar and glazed donuts. Staff was very friendly and only had to wait a few minutes for our order.

Liberty Donuts is an awesome place! Their donuts are delicious (the PB&J and cliff walk ones are my favorites) and are worth the price. You can also see how theyre made inside the store which is really cool! The staff is super friendly as well. Great spot!

The doughnuts are made fresh to order, and they’re melt-in-your-mouth magical. I got the Sea Newport caramel and the Oreo craziness, and they were both terrific. The ice cream is very good too. But really, get the made to order doughnuts. And get more.

Good for a quick breakfast sandwich or breakfast bagel. Not the worlds best donuts by any means but not bad either. I think their breakfast items are better than their donuts.

Fresh donuts made to order .. its served warm. Beware of the really small size to avoid disappointment. Their website gives the warning about the size too. They have a window through which they take your order and you just wait around outside till its ready. 3 donuts took about 10 mins. Interesting set of glaze options

I used to love this place but now I’m really not that happy after today. I used to love going here for their ice cream. Good price and everything until this girl made my ice cream. She literally gave me baby scoops and I Preety much paid 6 dollars for 2 scoops and 2 toppings they disappointed me. Literally my daughter can eat this within 3 mins. Very unsatisfied. Honestly you call this one scoop. This is less than a scoop and I order 2 scoops and it came out the same size. they way I took the pic makes the Whip cream look big😑 they really gave me a hot cup. Not ICE CREAM CUP 🍨

Highly disappointed with the quality of the food! When I walked up to the order window I noticed they had no business and only one guy was working.. I figure Id give it a shot anyways, so I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, 2 donuts, and a cappuccino for almost 17 dollars. They claim the donuts are made to order but really theyre microwaved to order then soaked in glaze. The sandwich was burnt to hell, and then to top it off the cappuccino taste horrible. I wouldnt recommend anyone spending money there. I would of rather gave my money to Dunkin Donuts

I had no idea what to expect when I walked in and they told me they were hot fresh to order donuts, I was expecting a traditional donut setup but was pleased by the quality and price of the donuts there, i was expecting a wait with them being made fresh but within ten minutes all the food I ordered had come out and was ready, the donuts I got for my family came out beautiful and the breakfast sandwiches and hot coco were gone before I even got the chance to break the donuts out. all in all great service great food, wish there was one in ny!

Stop what you are doing and go get a donut from this place. Had the maple walnut donut. I only got one and it was a small, what I would call a baby donut, but it was a great surprise and delight in a small package. The made to order donut was soft and pillowy and had the perfect texture and flavor. The maple icing was smooth and flavorful and they used chunks of walnut instead of pulverized dust like some places.

We stopped in on our first trip to Newport, attracted by the sign that said best breakfast sandwiches in Newport. Not. And the service was . . . disinterested. In fairness we didnt have a donut, and they may be great, but based on our experience we are not in a hurry to return.

We walked in at closing time. We wanted six doughnuts. Cheyenne said she wasn’t sure she had enough for six doughnuts, so we ordered four. We tipped her 15%. Then a couple walked in after us. She rolled her eyes at them. She took their order for two doughnuts after she told us she was out. I asked her why. She told us that these “nice people” needed doughnuts. The people that she had just rolled her eyes at. They were not even in the store when we had ordered. I’m not going back.

Beat donuts I have ever had. Made fresh right in front you and you get them nice and warm. Lots of variety and flavors can be quite intricate. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

Come for the donuts but nothing else. The breakfast sandwich was not great and the kids working there are complacent and don’t care about giving proper service. They were practically out of any toppings for a sandwich and messed up the order after requesting no bacon 5x. Wouldn’t come back.

An overwhelmingly delicious treat

First time here coming from CT and I ordered a bagel with egg and cheese and donuts. So bagel was really good and so were donuts. Only downfall was Donuts were so small almost baby size which I found strange definitely not use to getting a donut that small! Also I ordered a orange juice and again was baby size. Service wasn’t very great they seem overwhelmed and unorganized. At least the food was very good so that made up for the other things.

I come here in the mornings sometimes, and for lunch - theyve been good but sometimes they dont have ingredients; It can be hit or miss, like Im not sure what Im going to get when I visit sometimes. Sometimes a sandwich isnt crafted well, no chips, they dont have the bread or pastries I might be craving and not enough fruit in my oatmeal. When theyre good, theyre good but slowly losing my interest.

Hands down, no argument, the BEST donuts I have ever had. I try to make it my Saturday ritual to go here. The coffee isnt the best, but the donuts are to die for.

Slow service, tiny but fresh donut, worth the wait when you are hungry.

Let me start out by saying that the employees were very friendly the location was very clean and the atmosphere was very comfortable now lets talk about the donuts we ordered a dozen of mixed variety and they were very disappointing we kept trying one after another hoping that they would taste good and all they tasted like was Grease each Donuts flavor was overpowered by the grease from the fryolator we tried letting them cool down hoping they would taste better cold and they didnt nothing but a gut ache and a disappointment this is sad because its a nice location and theres a lot of potential.We did see your reply and will come back and try the smoothies and other items because your location was very clean and the staff and atmosphere was great.

I love this place The donor to always freshly made the owner is a great guy The people that work at a very friendly and courteous. They have one of the best coffees of of a had. If youre ever in and around Newport its definitely a place you wanna check out

We were on a cruise from Quebec to New York this fall. Our second-to-last port was Rhode Island and we stumbled upon Liberty Donuts. They were, hands down, the best donuts we have eaten anywhere!! Freshly made with choices of toppings, they almost melted in our mouths. The staff was friendly and enthusiastic. If you visit Newport, you must not miss Liberty Donuts!

Unfortunately I have to agree with other comment that donuts are very greasy. It was impossible to eat even though the donuts are so tiny. I ve tried so many fried donuts in my life but never eat something like that.The employees were very nice, place looks clean and big but the donuts are not food at all.

The donuts are unbelievable. At first the price seems steep, but once you get them, you understand why. The best value is getting a dozen. Will get more when friends/family come to visit. Whats also nice is they seem to have special flavors that rotate so always something new to try.

Really not the best, spent $5 on a cold egg and cheese sandwich literally cheese was ice cold not even melted, I watched my eye. And already toasted English muffin just sit on the counter, and waited about 7 minutes and I was the only person in the place.... wish I walked up the street and just went to wholesome market or whoever it’s called. also if you’re looking for good gourmet donuts that are actually worth your money, head up to Providence and get PVDonuts or KNEAD donuts. You’re already in RI, and it’s about a 30-40 minute drive.

The hype is totally real!!! This place is going to be slamming in the summer. Donuts are pretty small. But the charm of this place is that they make the donuts fresh to order in front of you. Choose from the board of flavor combos or create your own. $2 each. Coffee is pretty tasty as well! Pre-made donuts fresh that morning but not hot are $1 each.

The sprinkles are over rated. Go for the one with walnuts and chocolate. A little expensive for a donut place. But its fresh and hot. So cant complain. Plus the coffee is good. I spilled my coffee and they gave me a new cup for free.

There always seems to be a pretty long wait here for food, but its well worth it. The doughnuts can be made to order, or you can choose a few from their selection behind the counter. Small donuts. Had the pbj and it says its filled.. they just slice an extra greasy donut open and slap on pbj from jars. And the bacon was not not fresh. It was microwaved ready to eat and not crispy. Theyre concept is cool but theyre just cranking out one trick pony donuts and covering them in underwhelming glazes

We came here to grab some breakfast when we were in town for a wedding. It was expensive for what it was- my husband got the meat lovers sandwich and latte and I got a donut. It came to almost $16- not worth it.
