I go to Advance Auto Center for both a personal truck and a work fleet vehicle car. No matter the circumstance or vehicle, they take care of all aspects with exceptional communication, professionalism, and efficiency. They take care of fleet vehicles with a turnkey process so you do not have to lift a finger and with personal vehicles are as transparent and honest as possible. Their work is extremely impressive and the personnel at the shop is extremely friendly. Have been to both the Rockland and more frequently the Newton facility and both are exceptional providers of service! Nothing but good things to say about Advance Auto Center. 10/10 Recommend.

Finding a reputable mechanic can be hard but I consider myself very lucky to have found Advance, and I’ve been using them on both of my vehicles for over 4 years. They are always helpful and knowledgeable, and have found ways to save me money several times when they could have just gone the route that would bring them more profit. Really the best local shop I’ve ever used.

These guys are awesome! They price they quote you is likely what you’ll pay. There’s no hidden fees or attempts to up-sell you on stuff you don’t need. The guys there are all friendly and knowledgeable and have helped me keep my 15 year old Toyota Corolla running smoothly, even when faced with electrical issues that have stumped other places. I’m moving from the area soon and I’m really sorry I won’t have this place right down the street from me anymore. I also NEVER write reviews...but I’d give these guys 6 stars if I could, they’re the best!!

I haven’t been to AAC in years. Moved to Framingham I might forget what people say or what they do but you never forget how people treat you. AAC have always treated my vehicle with care. Recently I had work done, it drives better than when I drove it off the dealerships lot in 2019! Thank you Steve & AAC staff!

I am from Montreal, my van broke down, everywhere I called to get it checked/repaired they said they were overbooked and could take up to 2 weeks to maybe get my truck ready. These guys have been overcharging customers for years. Get an estimate from this place then get estimates from any other garage in Greater Boston and by far this place will be the most expensive. They gouge customers more than dealerships do. If you like burning money this is the place for you. They get offended when you question their outrageous prices as well. Go down the street to Mike at Watertown Service and get top quality service at 1/2 or 2/3 the prices here.In response to the owners response. Yes this is the correct place. Its pretty lame when an owner tries to discredit a well deserved poor review on Google. To clarify this place is across from Antoines pastry shop in The Lake (Nonantum) section of Newton near D&A. Avoid these shysters at all cost.

Not only was the body work done very well, but throughout the process I received updates on work status and full visibility on work being done.

I live a couple of blocks from Advance auto center and had recently moved to the area. I was not sure about the best place to get my battery tested as I was having problems with it and decided to wait a bit while I searched for the right auto shop. With the weather turning worse at this time of the year, the battery just decided to die on me suddenly. Thats when I found Advance Auto center and called to check if they offered car jumpstart services. Eric answered the phone and was so kind to drive up to my place and offered to jumpstart my car for no charge. I had never done business with them before and they offered me a service without charging for it. I guess Ive begun to believe that there are still a few good auto shops in this part of town that dont rip you off and provide a high quality of service. Advance Auto Center is definitely one of them. I will definitely go back to them if I need work done on my car.

I call the service to inquire about oil changes, and ask what kind of oil they use after giving the make and model of my car. The answer I get is whatever the car takes, multiple times. Only after I insist, that the genius on the other end of the line is so kind to give me the brand of the oil they use. Im definitely not taking my car to these jokers.

Called in the morning to get a 60K checkup and they took me the same day and offered to drive me home and pick me up (they also offer free loaner cars).They explained everything in detail and suggested I hold off on a couple of things to keep my bill at a reasonable amount. These guys really couldnt have been nicer. I was quoted an insane price for a bumper repair in order to pass inspection, and these guys were so awesome at both evaluating what absolutely had to be done and getting my car in and out on a busy Friday. Cant say enough good things about these guys, would absolutely be my first stop for a quote for a repair in the area.

Terrible service. Rude and unaccountable. Cant even be bothered with customers asking when a car is done. Not honest.....we found out later it costs much less somewhere else ...Brought our car there to change brake pads because they are close by but obviously, they say other stuff needs to be done. Left the car afternoon the day before and told them we need the car back by noon next day. They did not tell us they have loaners. When I called to ask when the car will be done. They can not give an answer. They are definitely not upfront or honest and have bad communication. The person answering the phone was plain rude and the worst I have seen. Terrible service. I would stick with the dealership with better service and accountability for what we paid. If you have been in the business so long, you should be able to estimate how long something takes. What happened was....they probably didnt get started until I called them. Just not honest and annoying to work with. They even got short and impatient with us Just for asking when the car is done.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE! We turned up at 6.05pm on a Friday night with loss of power steering, warning battery and brake lights and the need to set off on a two-hundred mile journey first thing Saturday morning. Steve and his guys were shutting up shop but immediately offered to take a look. They fixed the problem there and then and didnt even charge us because it was such a minor fault (a missing bolt). Honesty, kindness, human understanding...oh, and they fix cars really well too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

When the engine of my dealer-serviced 2011 Volvo C30--with only 60k miles on it--blew, Volvo said it was a freak thing. They said I was a great customer, well give you a deal and put a used engine in for $7,800. Whaaatt??!!So I went to Advance--whom my wife and I had been using for our other cars since the late-90s--and they quoted $5,100. A third less even though they get the engines from the same place!After a week negotiating with Volvo trying to get a better deal (and during which time Advance let me keep the car on their lot), Volvo refused to budge and so I went with Advance.But by the time I told Advance to move forward, the used engines we were looking at were no longer on the market. So Advance said theyd rebuild the engine. Which is a better option than a used engine, but more expensive. In fact, Volvo wouldnt rebuild my engine because they said it would be equal to or more than a new engine ($12k!)When I picked up my car, I got a bill for $5,076--Advance honored the first quote they gave me, even though it was for a used engine, not the much better rebuilt engine.Went for a road trip yesterday to test things out and the engine is now smoother and quicker than it ever was. Amazing!For almost 20 years, Steve and the Advance team have always been great to us. Friendly, prompt, flexible, helpful. And they really stepped up for me in the past couple weeks when Volvo (Volvo, no less!) refused to do so.Thanks Steve, Michael, and everybody else on the team. Youre the best!

Good customer care

My car was starting to shake when I braked at higher speeds. When I researched reviews of auto centers in the area Advance Auto had multiple good reviews so I thought this was a good starting point.They were able to look at my car the same morning I called and it only took them about an hour to diagnosis the problem.Steve, the owner, explained to me that my rear brake pads needed to be replaced and that my front and rear rotors needed to be reshaped/resurfaced (not sure of the accurate term). It would cost approximately $500.I scheduled the work to be done the following morning and Steve offered me a loaner car while they completed the work. I left his shop feeling confident I had found a good place to have my car fixed.On my drive home I decided to stop at the GMC dealership to have them give me a second opinion; they were right down the street, so I thought, why not. I knew they would probably be more expensive, but I thought it was worth them taking a look.To my surprise, they had me come into the garage to physically show me that my brake pads and rotors did not need to be replaced. They showed me the tool they use to measure when the pads need to be replaced. Their inspection showed 4mm life left for front and rear brake pads.I had all four tires replaced the week prior. The mechanics at the dealership said the shaking I felt was from the tires being bolted on too tightly. Sure enough, after a test drive on the highway my car was back to driving normal.I know there is always a risk of any auto body shop being dishonest and taking advantage of their customers. In this case, I feel that is exactly what they were trying to do.The owner came across as being very customer-service oriented, but was in fact, dishonest. Do not be fooled by the friendly and accommodating attitude.
