My now-wife and I went into this shop after doing research on several bridal shops in the area. We were blown away by the vast array of dress options and great customer service at La Sposa. The seamstresses have a lot of knowledge as they have been in business for years. They were organized and extremely helpful. The bride looked gorgeous on her big day and so did all of her bridesmaids. We can not thank La Sposa enough for being professional and courteous, and helping make our whole family happy on one of the biggest days of our lives.

I 1000% recommend this bridal shop! They are super professional and kind. I had a time crunch and they were able to help me find my dress and did alterations very quickly. They truly made me feel so special and I will forever be grateful to them for helping me! My wedding dress fit absolutely perfectly!

This shop completely ruined my wife’s dress, and then had the gall to charge her $600 for a ruined dress. She went alone and the staff completely took advantage of her and pressured her into paying for the work without trying it on. Whoever is working at the shop should be ashamed. After my wife mentioned how the work wasn’t satisfactory they blamed her and said she gaining weight!!! The dress still had safety pins, straight pins and open stitching when it was supposed to be complete. We are a military couple and moved right after picking up the dress and after taking it to a new tailor they said the dress is complete ruined and we’ll have to buy new fabric to fix it.STAY AWAY from this shop!

I bought a dress at La Sposa Bridal in 2019 when my wedding was supposed to be May 2020 (and then Covid hit and everything was postponed!) throughout the 2 year process Margherita was awesome and so reliable. I bought my dress in 2019 and it was kept safely in the store until I was able to come back and try it on for our new wedding date in 2021. The Bussels look amazing and my dress is perfect!! Such a nice shop with quality work and I can’t wait to wear my dress next week for my wedding!!!🥰🥰

I came to them with 69 days till my wedding ! Also the alterations I needed were not easy at all . This is a 5 layered lace dress and sheer parts and so many different details that was taken care of and kept in tact perfectly! EVEYTHING I WANTED TO FIX WAS FIXED ! When I picked up my dress only 3 weeks later it was perfect ! I cannot thank both of these women enough for being so warm, kind, professional, and dedicated to your craft !Don’t question it ! Stepping into La Spousa was my first experience entering a bridal shop for myself and I didn’t know what to expect. From the first moment I interacted with Margherita via phone, she made me feel welcome and comfortable. When my mother and I arrived to the bridal shop a few days later for my appointment, Margherita asked what I had in mind and as I explained, she called out 3 dresses in particular for me to consider and try on. The first was what I had in mind and once I tried on, the dress literally fit like a glove, complimented my body so well and was everything I imagined it would be to put on a wedding gown! When I looked at myself, I cried.From there, Margherita and her team made the process feel easy and adjusted the gown, as needed - she got to the alterations within a timely manner and priced fairly. They also provide advice to make sure that your shoes compliment your gown - for example, at first, I found a really pretty shoe that was heavily embellished on the strap and I didn’t realize that those embellishments can get easily caught on the lining of the gown/cause a trip hazard, her team explained and shared advice to avoid.I appreciate her talent, honesty, work ethic, her customer service and the wisdom she was able to share with me throughout the visits to the store! I dont have enough good things to say about my experience at La Sposa! I stopped in with my mom after having a bad experience at another shop, and Margherita dropped what she was doing to help me. She asked great questions about what I was looking for and was really honest about what she thought would look flattering and what would not out of her inventory, and she gave me three dresses to try on. The second one was absolutely perfect! She gave me a call as soon as the dress came in and let me stop by to take a look, and was really attentive and went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied with the dress. Im looking forward to my fitting soon, and cant recommend this shop highly enough!

Best experience EVER. Margerita the store owner is amazing. She is so wonderful to work with. She goes above and beyond to find you what your looking for. She does all the alterations by herself. We had so many changes and she rolled with it never getting upset with us. She is so experienced and will do whatever she can to help you with your dress. Her prices are very fair and reasonable and I know you’ll be so happy you went here. Couldn’t find another shop like this where the owner is there and totally involved. Margerita loves her job and has been doing this for so long. She really is there to help you out no matter what your looking for. She is very honest and I haven’t found any other shop where they really make a relationship with you. You’ll leave there so happy with your purchase and feel so beautiful in your dress.

La Sposa is a gem of a shop! I was so overwhelmed with the process of selecting a dress, but the ladies at La Sposa made it easy from start to finish. The store carries not only a large selection of bridal gowns in both styles and budget range but also a good variety of bridesmaids dresses. They genuinely care about you as a bride, and the tailoring work is top notch. I had two gowns tailored (both asymmetrical with many layers - pretty complex to bustle) and couldnt be happier with the result. The ladies at the shop also took care of my partys bridesmaids dresses. All dresses were all a great success, and we couldnt have done it without this place!!!

I called rather last minute to have my wedding gown, which I bought elsewhere, adjusted. Not only as La Sposa Bridal quick to reply, they were also so nice and sweet to me. I was in a complete panic that my gown wouldnt fit, but they were calm and assured me it would all work out. The gown now fits perfectly and looks like how I imagined it would. I would recommend friends to go here for their gowns in the future. The prices were great, and the service was more than I could have hoped for. I am so glad to have found them!!

I cannot recommend La Sposa Bridal enough! Margarita was so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. I went to a number of bridal stores in the area, and my experience at La Sposa was by far the best. The first dress I ordered (from another store) came in defective and Margarita was able to rush order a new dress and do the alterations in just a week! I highly recommend that you to go her for a wedding gown, alterations, and/or bridesmaid dresses.

The owner is an absolute gem! We found a dress online that we wanted to try on and she ordered us a sample to try. We loved it so we ordered them all thru La Sposa. The owner diligently followed up with the dress manufacturer on timing. Then, she did a fantastic job on alterations. Love La Sposa!

My cousin is getting married in a little over a week and of course I the procrastinator that I am waited until last minute to get my alterations done. I called yesterday and Margarita was able fit me into her schedule this morning and will have my dress finished next Wednesday. Clearly going above and beyond to satisfy her customer! I’ve been to soo many places to go dress shopping and was starting to feel a little sad I hadn’t come across anything I was looking for. My MOH made this appointment and I am so glad she did!!Margarita was outstanding! I almost had a hard time believing what exactly she was selling, she was so confident and looking around I didn’t have the same confidence. She brought us in the back, showed us 3-4 dresses and I went to try them on.The very first dress I tried on was magic and “the one”. I was blown away- I really found the dress on the first try, my hope and excitement was restored immediately. It was a dress I’d probably seen online before but definitely passed over. She was able to look at me and know exactly what I was interested in and what would work with my body- something I don’t think I even knew fully. The prices were fantastic (under budget) and so is her tailoring handiwork.All of the dressing room walls are covered in thank you cards and I’ll certainly be sending one to her for her involvement. I would recommend this place to anyone! It’s absolutely worth the look!

La Sposa is an incredible shop for alterations! I moved to Boston from Illinois before my wedding and I had to find a shop to do external alterations on my own wedding dress as well as my bridesmaid dress for another wedding. I was so nervous to have someone new working with my dress, but Margherita was amazing! She was patient and kind with me, especially when I was worried about it not fitting. She made all the right alterations for such a fair price, and was very professional and friendly. Its always impressive to see someone who loves what they do and does it very well. You can tell her work is very much a part of who she is, and it shows in the outcome. Id highly recommend working with her!

Margherita and Maria are the best at what they do. From the moment I met and spoke with them, I knew they would do an amazing job altering my daughter Jackies dress. Even though the dress needed to be taken in a lot and the design was unique, with a bolero overlay and an asymmetrical line to it, they did a fabulous job. Jackie looked gorgeous and the dress fit her perfectly! I would highly recommend La Sposa in Newton for any bride who wants to look and feel like a princess on her wedding day!

I found Margarita at La Sposa and she is night and day compared to other local shops and dress makers! I feel beyond lucky as a bride to have met such a kindhearted and hard working woman. I came to her with only 10 days left before my wedding, to fix work from someone else vs. alter a new dress - and she was more than willing to make me feel like the most important bride (I witnessed this same care towards her other brides too!). She took on a BIG task within days of talking and made all my fears and stress disappear. My dress is everything I had dreamed of, she actually listens to you and cares about making it everything you envisioned. Her work is flawless and was done so quickly. I was more than shocked with her pricing too and I hope it is fair to her! Another near-by bridal seamstress tell you it will be a certain cost and then surprise you later with a much different quote. Although, going into this process I wasnt worried too much with the alteration costs - IF they were warranted to make my dress perfect but I could not justify the inflation in the nearby shop, I also didnt realize just how crazy they were until I met Margarita. Margarita has made this whole process easy and I wish I could have only met her several months ago! She will always have a special place in my heart. My family has seen a difference in me when it comes to talking about my dress and our big day! Thank you Margarita & La Sposa, #1 all around in my book!

La Sposa is a great little shop! I came in with a bridesmaid dress I got elsewhere and they were able to hem and let out the dress since I was post partum with 2 weeks till the wedding and it fit perfect ! Thank you la Sposa !

It is a cute little boutique that at first you feel has nothing relevant and new and then you are greeted by the nicest woman who love what they do and have being doing their jobs with pride for more than 20 years. I was asked just a couple questions including budget and was brought two dresses. Long story short the first dress I tried on and I fell in love I was pinned for my alterations right that moment as well. I could not be more thankful and happy with my decision and experience. Thank you Margherita for being wonderful and so personable. I cant wait to wear the dress of my dreams when I marry the man of my dreams!!

I just purchased my wedding gown at La Sposa and was so pleased with the experience. I had no idea what I wanted for a dress style and she helped me find the perfect one for me. She also picked out the perfect veil to go with my gown. Loved working with Margarita and her entire team at LaSposa Bridal. This was the first place I went dress shopping for my wedding and fell in love with the third dress I tried on. I loved the bottom of the gown, but the top was not at all what I wanted. Margarita saw the potential in the dress and basically rebuilt the entire top of the dress from scratch for me. She dropped the waist line, added extra lace and the sleeves that I wanted. The end product is a completely custom dress at an amazingly reasonable price.Working with Margarita was wonderful. I was so surprised to see the negative reviews on here. After getting my dress here, all my bridesmaid dresses were purchased here, and my Mother in Law bought her dress here as well. We all couldnt be happier with the price, tailoring and end result.We all love LaSposa, and will be back here as often as we can in the future.

We had 3 days to find a wedding dress for my beautiful fiance, and Margherita at La Sposa bridal delivered a masterpiece! Margherita and La Sposa did what no other bridal shop could do! Can you imagine, pregnant and 3 days to go with no hope! We went everywhere I mean all of them. Found fitted and perfect in record time with record results! I am blessed to have found La Sposa bridal and I love Margherita and will never forget the miracle!

Margherita and her staff were amazing. They knew exactly what dress I was looking for and what would look best on my body. Their customer service was great. They were nice and caring every time. Margherita cares about brides and their dresses and will do whatever she can to make sure that it comes out right! She was excellent fitting the dress and the alterations were perfect. Margherita is truly a master of her craft !! I was recommended to her by a friend of mine who also had her wedding dress altered by Margherita last summer and I so do not regret deciding to come to her! She is so sweet and accommodating and you can tell she truly loves what she does. I initially only wanted my dress to be hemmed and taken out but even those were not easy tasks. My dress had 5 layers of tulle and lace that she would have to cut through and she did it perfectly. She was very meticulous and detailed with the measurements- she had me come back two times after the initial measurements just to make sure that it was right. I then wanted the mesh panel removed from the neck/chest area of my dress and she also did that wonderfully. She preserved the lace detailing and it seemed like the dress came without the mesh. After removing the mesh panel the shoulders of my dress had to be altered as welll and she built more of a lace shoulder on both sides for me so that it would stay properly. My dress is everything I imagined it would be and after this experience I wouldnt trust anyone else but her for alterations . I highly recommend her and definitely will be coming back to her in the future !

La Sposa is a hidden gem! I knew from the moment I called the salon that I would be in good hands with Margherita and Maria. We were given all of their attention during our appointment. They listened to my thoughts during the whole process and guided me right to the dress of my dreams! The quality of the dresses is excellent and very affordable. They pay very careful attention to detail.I had visited a big box store before this and was met with hurried consultants, inexperienced consultants, and emails with guidelines dictating how many family members could come with me. I had family visiting from out of town for my dress shopping experience. After receiving these daunting emails from other salons, I asked Margherita if 4 people was too many to bring. She kindly responded, Bring everyone, it is a family affair!We were warmly welcomed and it made the experience exactly what I had hoped for! Within a half hour I had found my dream dress, a beautiful belt, and a matching veil. They managed to fit the dress and accessories all into our price point. And if this experience isnt telling enough, I am beyond excited to have Margherita doing my alterations. She is incredibly experienced which is shown through the many customer thank yous posted around the salon. When she spoke about the alterations, I knew my dress would fit perfectly. I felt like I was the only bride-to-be in the boutique. The saleswomen were treating me like their own daughter!!!!They made me feel so comfortable and were extremely helpful and patient on such a busy Saturday afternoon.I wasnt able to have anyone come with me. I needed opinions. Even the other brides moms were very thoughtful.I had visited other bridal shops & department stores to find The dress. When I asked if dresses could be altered in different ways such as the poof reduced or sleeves added, I was told NO in most uncertain terms. Just plain rudeness!!!!!! Im not one to take up peoples time. I have a degree in Fashion Merchandising & have worked in large department store to small specialty shops.I felt like I was taking up the salespeoples time. I felt like they had no time for my questions. La Sposa was a very different experience. I dont know why I didnt come here first as I brought my BFF here 24+ years ago where she found her gorgeous gown. I also live in Newton & often drive by.I would tell any bride to please go to La Sposa first. You will be treated like you are very important.I understand this review sounds a bit too mushy. It was my experience along with my BFFs experience all those yrs ago. Im positive that you will have that same experience!!

If I could give this place no stars I would.The shop owner is rude, has no respect for your time, and does not do the professional work she claims she does when altering a dress. She ordered my dress 2-3 sizes too big, forcing me to pay an absurd amount of money to get it fixed. She changed my pick up time TWICE and my dress was only done 2 days before my wedding.The top did not fit (it was too big,) there was a huge hole when I picked it up that had to be mended, and EVERYWHERE that she had to sew you saw the lines and thread. It was the biggest rip off ever.Long story short: I recommend not going here. It will only give you unneeded stress and honestly no one should have to deal with someone as rude and unprofessional as the shop owner.

I had previously written a rave review about La Sposa and the owner. A long time ago I bought one of my prom dresses from Margherita and have been numerous times over the years for dress alterations. I kept going back because the location is convenient and Ive always been pleased with the results. After my last visit I was asked to write a review online and I happily obliged. However, after years of positive experiences, I could not believe how my mother was treated when I recommended she go to Margherita for a dress alteration. I am getting married this year and did not get my gown at La Sposa. It was not personal, I just fell in love with something somewhere else. As soon as Margherita found out that her dress was a Mother-Of-The-Bride dress and that I did not get my gown from her, she couldnt let it go. She made my mother feel uncomfortable with her comments (which I will graciously not mention here) and completely spoiled what should have been an especially happy occasion. From that moment on, all interactions were short and rude. I am so disappointed to be writing this review and even more so that I will need to find a new seamstress the next time I need an alteration. That being said, I feel that Ive been objective and while I have no critique of Margheritas work, I do not respect the harsh and unprofessional way she treated my Mother. If you care about your customer experience, please find another place.

Margherita is awesome. I was recommended by my friend who also had alterations done by Margherita. She had a week to fix a last minute dress for my friend and it came out beautiful. My dress was very difficult to alter because the boutique ordered it several sizes too large despite taking my measurements beforehand and had several layers of tulle, lace, etc. Margherita did such an awesome job and it was exactly how i envisioned it to be as the end product. Shes very meticulous and she definitely cares about each and every alteration she makes. She often tells stories about customers who have come in the past and how other alteration places would mess up a dress and she would be the one to fix it. Although this seems boastful the way she told it definitely was not. She wanted to portray the fact that she cared and that she took time to fix every dress. She made me come back a few times because she didnt want to cut a part of the dress after altering the other parts as once you cut you will never get that part of the dress back. I loved the fact that she was very open about my alterations, even the part where she struggled on figuring out how to alter certain parts. Shes also open to any suggestions on how I wanted it to fit. I can tell shes a very hard worker. Some might be a little put off since Margheritas personality is a little blunt and terse but shes a very sweet lady. I highly recommend Margherita to any one who wants alterations. Even after I paid her and left with my dress, Margherita was willing to add a bustle to my dress for free. I initially told her not to put it on because I would be switching dresses but changed my mind one week before the wedding. She added the bustle the weekend before my wedding and I left with my dress the same day.

I cannot say enough positive things about La Sposa and Margherita. The store carries a wide selection of dresses in a range of budgets. Margherita was always quick to answer phone calls, provide advice and perform alterations. As any bride knows (and brides-to-be quickly find out!), alterations are almost more important than the actual gown and I could not have been happier with the way my gown fit. Margherita had to do a fair amount to the dress (including adding a side panel, hemming 8 inches off, taking up straps) and not only did the dress fit perfectly, but you would never know that it had been altered! She also did a beautiful job refurbishing my mothers veil so that it coordinated with my dress. It may be a smaller shop, but trust me, if youre looking for quality work, visit La Sposa. It made a huge difference that I wasnt tripping over my dress or pulling it up all night, I felt beautiful and my wedding wouldnt have been so perfect without Margherita.

Great store, with lots of cool brand. They have unique designs and they also have trendy dresses. They also have great sales going on.
