Decent place for breakfast. The service was alright. With rating and all the hype, I thought it would be one of the best but my experience was just okay. + the waiter forgot my side order.

Such an amazing place!! The interior decor is very cute, paintings on the walls are beautiful, great costumer service. The waitress was outstanding. Food is delicious, good portions too. Fast service tho it was constant stream of costumers. Definitely recommend, the best breakfast place around!

The food tasted great. Specially the began burger. I also feel that the began burger meals is a totally worth it. 🤗 How ever the breakfast combo was little disappointing 🤭😭. My orange juice was missing and my toast. It was also not worth the price.

I got the steak for breakfast and it was like a brick. It taste just like rubber. My pancakes were good but overcooked. They were like blackened pancakes. This place use to be good but the quality has drastically diminished. I wasted of $46 because the food went straight to the garbage. I wouldnt even let my dog eat it.

I understand times are tough but you need to fire your staff. They could care less as Ive seen in other reviews about the businesses success or reputation.9/19 - Full staffing and ignored as soon as I walked in with my friend. It is seat yourself but there are no signs indicating so, definately dont expect employees to let you know, too difficult. We sat in a section with two waitstaff covering 7 tables with no more than 3 people at each table. We continue to be ignored as we watched 4 tables sat after us and still no menu. Finally a menu comes after said 4 tables get their drinks and put their orders in. We order 4 entrees- steak, `hash, french toast and goat cheese eggs & toast. We waited again patiently as it is a Sunday, for 45 minutes with all the waitstaff avoiding eye contact, finally my guy gets up and waves to the girls at the counter. They continue seating new tables as the other tables around us left. Our waitress eventually saunters over we asked if our food was on the way as it had been a very long time (we were sat at 10:55 BTW it is now 11:40) the waitress states it will be 5 minutes for our food. 10 minutes went by and the table that sat down 40 minutes after us were served their food (two eggs bennies).Either they forgot our order completely and kept telling us it was coming or just left it in the kitchen to get cold NO IDEA HOW THIS CAN HAPPEN- Ive been in the restaurant industry for 25 years...I get it but this is almost impossible to do so poorly. After about an hour of this, an empty coffee cup and with all the tables gone that came in at the same time as us it was time to get up and leave. I usually would have left in the first 10 minutes of this but I was trying to be patient. What a joke of a business. Cant say anything for the food because it never came. I can say it cant be good enough to ignore the terrible service.Will never attempt there again.

Wow… just wow! Best food from such a surprising little place in West Roxbury! Breakfast is out of this world… bread was light and crispy, choices were beyond amazing, flavor blew me away and I’ve seen most of the 50 states and visited more than 50 countries - including Michelin starred restaurants… this is up there with the best of them. Don’t miss it and don’t mind the wait… you may grow a few gray hairs waiting, but it’s worth it!

Many places around to eat but what it makes a difference is customer service and this place is beyond unacceptable! The waiters are rude, over the phone and in person…. They should get more help because they are busy and rushing and rude!

One of THE best brunch spots in Boston!! Besides the usual stuff that every diner has its Tahitian French toast with coconut and mango are a must to try!

Had a bacon Swiss burger. The burger first came with no bacon, lettuce or tomato. Wait person brought back to kitchen and came back with bacon on burger. I had to ask for the other items. The root beet soda taste was way off.Not real thrilled with the food.

I don’t typically write reviews but I saw reviews regarding unpleasant staff? I’ve never had an issue here. I usually get helped out by the same person and she always has a smile on her face. So kind and she’s so fast. I actually received the wrong omelette once (they had a huge catering order before me so I understand it’s hectic.) and I received my refund within 5 days (they offered me a new meal as well but I was out of the area.) you can tell everything is homemade. Thank you Rox. If your in the area please try- don’t let these reviews scare you!! The pancakes are so fresh as well. Corned beef too. Unreal.

I been here many times and I got to say the food is AMAZING! They make the best home fries! The staff are pretty good not even a long wait. They have a list where you can write your name and number so you can just walk away till it your turn to go inside. Honestly a really good restaurant.

Loved everything this place put in front of me. Best sausage links ever, same goes for the home fries! Great service to match as well.

I heard about this place from my co-workers. I went there on a Sunday morning which seemed to be a popular time. I didnt wait long for a seat. Its a small place with very friendly waiters who were attentive. The decor was cute.

Best bread on the planet! I ordered a second helping of just today because it was so good. And I usually have bread. Sandwiches are perfect. The JFK is a great sandwich. Fresh fruit was surprisingly good as well. Will be my go to breakfast place.

The waitress was terrible!! She was on her phone, brought us our food and we had to wait to get silverware. She got my husbands order wrong. Never came back to ask if anything was okay.

Covid helpful info: parallel street parking, no meters. Most times of the day you can find a spot near this location. Once you walk into the joint you will see a table with bags and you can grab it and go when you do take out. I know they were doing indoor seating when I went there but can’t remember if they had a table or two for sitting outside.A local favorite of mine for brunch food. I typically like to get the kind of breakfasts that come with a little bit of everything such as French toast/pancakes, eggs, sausages, etc. and it is delicious!! I also just recently tried an omelette and they put so much in but it was just the right amount and it tasted wonderful. Definitely would recommend!

No one ever answers the phone to place an order for pick up. This review is based on multiple attempts on different days calling several times... annoying to say the least!

Love the food, best home fries I’ve ever had. A local bakery provides the bread they use for their fantastic toast and they have so many menu options. The Irish foods on the menu fit the neighborhood feel. Can get busy very quickly so it’s best to go early. Lines can go down the street.

Had the pleasure of dining here with an Irish friend. The full irish breakfast was outstanding. Best cup of tea too! (It must have been Barrys)It was also school vacation and I had Ioved it! It was wonderful seeing families enjoying themselves. It is great to take time out and enjoy a good breakfast together. (I used to take my kids to Friendly!)Family moments that will last a lifetime. Love this dinner, its worth the wait, Staff is super friendly and food is even better. I love the corn beef hash. It is home made shredded corn beef w peppers and onions. It comes out nice and crispy. Ive had the California omelet a very healthy and light option. BTW they also give you great portions. Great experience everytime.

Amazing food

Super small and busy. Sitting at the bar was awkward because of the bar stools and no where to put our coats. The staff were great. The food was excellent. I didnt have any place to put my wallet since we were at the bar, and a drink spilled and got everything wet which was annoying, but we chose to sit there so... Would still go again!

Food is good. Service isnt so great but only because they are very busy. The place is a bit small to hold such a busy flow of customers. But i guess the food makes up for it. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Everything one would want in a diner. Clean! Sit down or take out GREAT FOOD. Breakfast + lunch. Street parking or local lots close by. A great healthy choices, or naughty French toast, fruit salad, beacon and cage free happy chicken eggs.Food to go- good to go. They pack it all up and dont forget anything.

Knew this was a fabulous breakfast place but have had lunch twice here now and it never disappoints. Benefit for low carb dieters...if you dont want potatoes, you get an extra egg in your omelet. Love to make my own southwestern omelet. Extra benefit, can bring my mother easily to the Rox who is wheelchair dependent. She loves it. Staff is so friendly and accomodating.

Didn’t smell like food was cooking when I went in ( first red flag), service was mediocre at best, and the food was bland and boring. Some people like that though apparently. The mimosa was pretty good though. I won’t be coming back though because I like spice and flavor in my food!!! So disappointing

AMAZING!!!I ordered the Western Omelette with home fries and toast. He ordered the Belgium Waffle with fruit.Let’s start with the bread, locally made in Roslindale — delicious! It has this savory taste to it, hmm!!The home fries were fantastic! Perfectly crisp and seasoned on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside!The Western Omelette was everything I could ask for, super cheesy just like i love it and the ham ... yum!!The Belgium Waffle with fruit was exquisite! The fruit, strawberry, banana & blueberries, were perfectly ripe. The waffle itself was delicious — fluffy on the inside and perfectly toasted on the outside.Our waitress, was the sweetest ever! Very attentive and precise. The moment I heard her say to another customer, “the usual?” And proceed to confirm, I was sold! Fair to say that we will be back!Thanks so much, Rox Diner!

Have been ordering Rox for years and recently have had a terrible experience that lead me to stop ordering from here. Staff got my order wrong and then grew upset that I wanted the correct one. Since we complained of the wrong order they have declined future orders from us. SO since THEY got the order wrong I can’t order from them anymore..very unprofessional.

Great breakfast. Been here many times now. Food is excellent, service has been great. There is a line on weekends, but the new sitting area helps somewhat. Worth the wait, as long as its not raining outside.

Probably the worst customer service ive ever had. We waited for about 8 minutes for somebody to greet us and that never even happened. If you want to wait for hours to be greeted and then probably another hour to be seated its probably a good place.

I CALLED THE ORDER IN! but of course everyone denied taking it.Also. They are now charging 10 cents for the bag your comes in Ridiculous!Done with this place.

They have a newish chef who has had a really good time being creative with new dishes. I am a huge fan of their salads around lunch. The local stuff gets me.Literally the only problem with this place is that there isnt enough seating to allow me to go there all the time.

Had a nice breakfast here, french toast is really good. Sadly, this location is not very equipped to handle larger parties. We had a party if seven and it took quite some time to coordinate getting us seated. Was well worth the wait though.

Small, cute diner. Has a local feel to it. There isnt that much room for waiting customers (although the the wait for a table itself wasnt very long). There are 2-3 small tables for two, and about 4 regular tables, plus a small bar. So come early if you want to find a seat. The food was quite good. The waitresses were so very kind. Credit/Debit accepted, high seat available for little ones.

Best Corned beef hash Ive had in a long time

I like Rox dinner because the food is great. All the time I go there, theres a line out the door because its so go. Every time I go there, my experience there always is great. Their service is good. They dont make mistakes. Their pancakes are great and just the way I like them, the edges are crispy. Their side dishes are sausage and bacon. Their decorations are really cool. In the West Roxbury location, they decorate it with posters and comic books and in the Newton location, there is this really cool juicer at the Rox dinner, the food comes out quickly but they dont rush it.

This a true diner, with great food and a cozy dining experience.
