I just picked up my first new boat from Norfolk Marine on Friday. I ordered it about 3 months ago and the transaction has been pretty smooth. My salesman Tyler has been great and Captain Pat went out for a sea trial with me when I picked it up. Walt and the guys in the parts department have been great so far also. Overall I had a great experience and I will be back!

Excellent experience purchasing our first boat. Tim was a transparent and straight forward sales agent. Jordan was an excellent Captain and did a great job taking us out on a test drive and educating us about the boat. He also delivered it and was great helping us secure it to our dock while were waiting for our boat lift to be adjusted. Highly recommend Norfolk Marine.

The scheduling of repairs and follow up is horrible. Brought my boat in for a fuel issue and was told 1 to 2 weeks for repairs. Called at 2 weeks and was told I was 4th in line. Called at 3 weeks and they still coukdnt give me a service date only that I should be happy because other clients were waiting 8 weeks. Extremely poor customer service. Picked up boat and found a reliable service facility who worked it right in and fixed my issue. Shop around and avoid this place if you can.
I was looking for a sweet 16 but the didnt have any of them.
They will be more than happy to take your money for a new boat. However should you need help after that, you will be treated like you are wasting time.

My sales guy was Paul Wentworth and he did a awsome job, They were very accommodating and answered all my questions and got me a great rate for financing, unfortunately the boat I wanted was out of stock but if I ever purchase another one I won’t hesitate to contact them!

Great service department! Boat owners know its hard to find quality service for their engines and electrical. Save yourself the trouble of asking around and go to Norfolk Marine, especially if youre running on Yamaha engines. They take pride in their service. You can count on them to take care of your boat as if it were their own.
The two gentlemen in the parts department go above and beyond to help you out. Was having problems with the steering on my boat. They took the time to show me the exact Parts I need it and explain to me how to install them. Top-notch service!
The parts people were excellent the service manager was a piece of well I cant say that word I was treated very rudely In for a store thats been in business that along with their customer base and youre in there spendin money you should not be treated like that Ill never go back I order online.

I was in the market for our first pontoon boat and talked to Jason Murphy at a local boat show about what they offer. He was very knowledgeable and willing to work with us to find the perfect boat for our needs. We ended up ordering a custom boat, and Jason walked us through the process painlessly, and the price was very reasonable. Once the boat arrived, his staff was great in the delivery process, and the following service intervals that needed to be done. I highly recommend Norfolk Marine for any boating needs, whether buying a boat or for service.
Brought them my Sea Hunt powered by a Yamaha motor which is what they are “certified” to work on and sell. My motor was bogging down at high RPMs. Lee recommended a full fuel service including all filters, injector cleaning and fuel tank scrub. Gave them approval to perform all recommended work. My boat ran great for two trips in the fall. Filled my gas tank and added the two additives they recommended and stored for the winter. Brought my boat out this spring and on the first trip it acted the exact same way as it did before they performed the fuel service. Called their service department and got Matt. Matt informed me I’d have to pull my boat out of the water and trailer it to Norfolk marine to be put on the queue and their backlog was at least a month out. They also recommended I speak with USA Fuels which is who they use for their fuel tank cleaning. I checked my fuel as directed by USA Fuels and the fuel checked out fine. I replaced the water fuel separator myself just to make sure. Finally talked Matt into getting me on their schedule for a mobile mechanic to come out which he said was 3 weeks out. I was told if the mobile mechanic were to find something wrong internal to my motor I would still have to pull the boat out of the water and trailer it to Norfolk marine and wait on their backlog. Completely unacceptable. Called another Yamaha certified mobile mechanic who got to my boat within a week and found a completely clogged VST fuel filter which Norfolk marine had replaced less than 50 gallons and 10 hours of motor run time. The other mobile mechanic performed all work with the boat in the water. Called Lee back to explain what had been found and was told there was nothing he could do because “He’s not going to pay someone else bill”. I never asked for him to pay someone else’s bill all I wanted was for them to make it right in a way that they saw fit. Lee’s response was to get an attitude and blame me for asking them to make it right. They’ve lost my business and I advise prospective customers to beware!
Great place for your boating needs
I have had Norfolk Marine work on several boats over the years and have always received great service and advice. The work is always done in a timely manner and at a very fair price. It is hard to find a boat dealership that has the capability of Norfolk Marine, would recommend them to anyone.
Norfolk Marine serviced a prior boat I owned the first time, the right way while others couldnt figure out the issue. The service was reasonably price, timely and done correctly. Will only use Norfolk Marine for service in the future. In addition, recently purchased a pontoon and Norfolk Marine answered all of my questions during a 3 year period, never once pushed me to buy, and was extremely professional during the whole process. Recommend to all!

This Spring I purchased a 25.5 Sea Hunt from Norfolk Marine. After my experience, I pulled the owner aside and explained this was the easiest and most pleasant purchase experience Ive had in years. I live in Annapolis, Maryland and some of these dealers have poor attitudes and communication; to me this is half of the battle. Instead of a condescending sales pitch, I was walked through every step of the process and put in a boat that was perfect for me and my needs....not what they wanted to push or unload. This is why I made the trek from Annapolis, MD to Norfolk, VA. Top notch company, staff and process.

Bought a new Grady-White 275 Freedom from Jason and the crew at Norfolk Marine, and from start to finish, the process couldnt have been smoother. The sale, the follow up service, the upgrades (electronics, outriggers) to the boat all were handled seamlessly. When a glitch developed with the factory-installed radio, they immediately and without question switched it out. All in all, a great company that I plan to continue doing business with for years.
Do not buy a boat from this place. I called to by a boat from here and the sales rep said dont buy a boat from them bc they are not a local dealer in my area and then hung up the phone. Bad sales. Stay away

Second boat purchase...same experience. We really took notice of the vast inventory that Norfolk Marine carries at this years Virginia Beach boat show. In fact we couldnt stop thinking about the options and quality that the Sea Hunt line offers today. We reached out to Jason and he welcomed us to his store to discuss the different options available. No pressure, no effort to upsell us on anything. He made sure to inform us on the options that we really must have. We took delivery of our Ultra 235 SE in May.The delivery process was even more thorough. The Norfolk Marine team made sure that the boat was prepped and in the water in days, so that our family could begin enjoying this beautiful boat. We couldnt be more pleased and continue to refer anyone who asks to Norfolk Marine. We hardly go anywhere, that someone doesnt come over to check out our boat because its so damn good looking. Let me tell you! Im young and have an old boat (94) all original. That means I have problems that need good solid advise/guidance and all that without a crippling bill. Ive dealt with some of the worst people you could have imagined bc of the stigma Im not worth the time of most. Walt helped me out on more occasions than I can count. Hes gone the extra mile every time Ive come to him ... Best customer service anyone could ask for. I drive further out of my way just to buy parts and fluids bc of this. If you need solid advise (even if you dont want to hear the advice), or anything you need for your boat, this is certainly the place to go!

Service department says they took fuel sample and my tank and gas checked out ok...... But no. My gas tank was totally contaminated.....

This is a tough one. Owner (Jason) helped me with my purchase and was a great experience! Service however has been a bomb thus far. Long way to drive from Newport News for crappy and lazy service. Sad because thats not how Jason operates.
Bought a Gamefish 25 from these guys a few years ago-- Jason and Tyler were phenomenal--- service has been great ever since. Cant recommend them highly enough.

My cousin bought a boat from these guys a 24-foot Carolina Skiff had it about a year-and-a-half and the fiberglass from the bottom started coming off with the 5-year warranty that is a Hall warranty they still wouldnt replace it told me I had to go through my insurance it should be my insurance problem if there was a defect in the Carolina Skiff heres pictures to prove
