I have been going to the book exchange for years. They have a great selection of gently used books, movies, and records. It is also a good way to trade in your unused items for store credit.

Hey guys, I came in to buy book IV of The Wheel of Time. Thanks for calling around to your other stores looking for a copy. I thought I would have hit up a big box store or go through Amazon.Low and behold I found another local bookstore, AFK.Being new in town I would have appreciated the heads up about this sweet shop.I will for sure be back to your establishment. I am just surprised that there may not be a code of solidarity between local book sellers here, in Norfolk.

I am rating this store 5 stars, because the folks inside were super friendly! They also gave a fair store-credit exchange for my CDs! I will say that their record selection was really slim, which was the most disappointing thing. They had lots of books, CDs, cassettes, and 45 singles to choose from, though. So, if youre looking for albums, you probably wont find much (though they do get some in from time to time), but youll find a good selection and price of anything else. Great selection & staff helped us find what we were looking for quickly. They offer store credits for report cards - $5 for A/B honor roll & $10 for all As so my rising 2nd grader was very excited to spend his money!

Moderate book selection. Would be great if they had a larger selection of naval history, American history, leadership books. Might I suggest the Department of Navy CNO reading list??FANTASTIC prices tho!I bought 4 books!

This is my go-to bookstore. Store credit given for trading books is excellent. There are amazing prices- you could easily get ~5 books for ~$25. Theres always a great selection, too, something for everyone. The books are organised by genre including a section of new-arrival books at the front.

WOW! It looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside and Ive driven by it for years BUT finally went in a few weeks ago and I am VERY impressed!Well organized, clean and staff is super helpful.If you have a lot of books to drop off you can leave them and they will call you when they have your total. The best part for me is any books they wont give you credit for they will donate for you! No need to make an additional trip to the thrift store!

I am so glad to find the book exchange. I had a box full of books to exchange and they gave me store credit so that I could get more books. I got a book for me and a few books for my granddaughter.

Where else can you trade in your used books in exchange for other like-new ones? Exactly. Theyve got a great store with a huge selection of books, DVDs, CDs and records. They take in trades daily so there are always items coming into the store! Friendly staff that will help you find whatever youre looking for. If they dont have an item, they can order it for you.

Wouldnt take any of my books because they werent popular enough. They also have a terrible selection.

Overpriced, small variety to choose from. The staff pick and choose who to greet and ask who needs help, which stood out as it was my first time there. Record variety is not worth viewing, trust me. I’d recommend looking at other thrift book shops.

I found the store very well laid out, they had a good selection of a wide variety of topics. I was looking for fantasy/ sci-fi for my 12 year old daughter (got her Enders Game by OSC) several Bobbsey Twins books for my 10 year old and had a good browse through everything else. Will stop in again soon.

Nice place. Well-organized, super comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. Parking lot is awesome, with lots of space. Theyre open later than most bookstores, which is helpful for those of us who keep odd hours. They have two stores and the staff will check the other stores inventory and get something the next day if they dont have it on-prem.

I cant say enough positive things about this place! First off, its a wonderful concept: bring your books, DVDs, or CDs/Vinyl in for store credit. Then use that store credit to find something new to you! Even if you dont have store credit, prices are half off list price and a great deal. Store was very inviting, clean, and well organized. They even have a small childrens play area with toys that came very much in handy to entertain my almost 2 year old. Employees were beyond friendly and helpful. I could spend hours here. Highly recommended!

This is a great place to pick up a used copy of a book youve been looking for at a lower price than you will find most anywhere else. All of the books they have are in great condition for used books too! They even have comic books! They may not always have the books youre looking for, but are willing to keep an eye out for one if you ask them to. Also on site you can pick up a movie, a cd or even vinyl records for a great price. Tired of having movies or books you dont want anymore lying around? Bring them here for store credit towards a book or movie youre missing and theyll happily take what you have. You can also donate any the store wont take to charities through this location as well. So whether youre looking to sell or buy, come check them out!

I personally love this place! Me and my sister are really the only people in my family that have “time” to read. But oh boy this place is like a dream come true!

Small selection but at least its quality reads. My wife and i come to shop here at least once a month. They are really good to students too. Bring in your As and Bs and you get credits towards your purchases. I think that is really awesome.

Visit this book store and you will be amazed and overwhelmed at the number of books to choose from...its loaded with books!None are tattered and well-used. Most books actually seem to be new. The genres of books are hugs! And the prices are beyond compare at such reductions that you will likely leave with an armful.Good parking in front of the Book Exchange. Awfully nice employees. Its a wonderful store to visit!

Very good. Lots of new books as well as used. New are marked half price. They give credit if you bring your books in. Helpful staff, found kids books for my daughter.

Good selection and organization. Friendly staff. I think 50% of the retail sticker price is their standard price, which I think is a bit pricey for used books but still worth it.

Its ok. They have a nice variety, but some of the conditions of the books dont warrant only half off publishing price. Then some of the newer paperbacks you can buy new at the same price they offer as half off. Personally for a big lover of books, this would only be a stop if I cant find something elsewhere or they have one of their donations sales. However, for others this may be the perfect store.

The employees at The Book Exchange are always very helpful and friendly. They have a great selection of various items including books(obviously), music, and DVDs. I love the charity drive they do every month or so as well. It is always nice to see the owner, John, helping out and working hard. He is always friendly and excited about the store and the area and Cassie, Sam, and Kama are always ready to help me find a book whenever I need some assistance. Great staff, great environment, and great selection. Well done Book Exchange keep it up!

One of the nicer used media stores in the area. I wasnt able to sell any of my books for cash, but I received a good amount of store credit to use at either this location or at the Virginia Beach location, which was nice. Everything seemed to be pretty well organized, and I was happy that my trade-in went through quickly enough even with having a couple of trade-ins in front of me in line.

They have good used kids book with half price! I bought few kids book and I found some art drowning book for my son! He really liked it. They are small place but clean and you can find some good book. It was good experience for us.

I love love love this store. I stop on my lunch break to trade in books Ive finished and buy new ones. Be aware, if your books are well loved they wont accept them in trade unless they come from the store.

I love this book store! There are many current books available plus all sorts of books previously published. Ive yet to visit and not taken home at least four books at really awesome prices.

I love this bookstore. Two of my kids are starting to read and they go through lots of books. Here I can trade the books they read back in for new ones they havent. Theyve become much better readers.

Just moved to the area and my client ask me to bring them here. I found it to be very nice and clean movies, books, DVDS and CDs all in order of genre

Soooo many wonderful books to choose from and all great quality.

Seems to be difficult to exchange books anymore. Last several attempts, my current books which are in good shape were not accepted. Today, I took 15 books in to exchange and 3 were accepted. Also selection seems limited. Does not seem worth my time.

I think I just found a corner of heaven! Wonderful place- great selection and pleasant staff. I will be back.

Clean place and good place to go if youre really just looking for something to read but not sure what you want to read. This is also the place to go if youre looking for a really old CD to burn that isnt at the library.
