My husband and I really liked the italian baguette! So delicious! We got some of the their pastries and everything was sooo good! We will definitely go back. The ladies were so nice too!

Beautiful place, delicious everything! So authentic so French!I would give it 10 stars but why the weird hours?? That’s not consistent. Closed two days a week .. open only have day one day .. why? Why not just have regular hours and open and close like a normal bakery.Again other than this, this is your place to go to for fresh fresh French bake goods!

This bakery is phenomenal. It is owned and run by actual French people so everything is authentic and so so tasty! Get the vanilla chocolate eclair. It will improve your life.

I found both the sweet and savory delicious. They had something for everyone there, I enjoyed their eclair and (vegetarian) Brie sandwich- the fresh baguette added to the experience.I felt welcomed there, although I came at an inopportune time, within a half hour of closing. Still, we were encouraged to stay and enjoy. Im glad I did, to give this delicious food my full attention. While leaving, I was reminded:See, you have time to enjoy your food.

An authentic French Bakery. Only 4 people could be inside of Bakery due to COVID-19. Had an almond croissant, a strawberry tart, and a savory brioche and all of them were so good. Highly recommended.

This french bakery is delicious. Fresh-made pastries and seasonal favorites can always be found in the glass case inside. Be warned, if it’s popular, get here early!They also sell coffee, tea and sandwiches and have a beautiful loft dining space upstairs with a wall of windows and great natural light with several tables where you can enjoy your choices and hang out for a while.You can pre-order holiday and special occasion cakes from them too. Delicious authentic French patisserie. Cant wait to return. Almond croissant and sausage turnover are my favorite. The guava tart was rich and delicious. The baguette was crusty with a soft center. Yummy!!

First visit after 2 years.La brioche is a 100% authentic French Bakery, trust me. Even the customer service is like in France : I’ve the feeling to bother them and the cashier/owner was like rude. I know I’m not the only one with that feeling. Just say “Good Morning!”, that’s the minimum…Plain croissant and chocolate croissant are the best around, but expensive for what it is.The french baguette are good but average if you compare it to the french standard ( if I were if France, will not buy it again after testing). My wife french baguette are better and less expensive too. In addition, there is only one type of baguette, which is surprising (baguette Blanche).Frankly, the general taste is good and we enjoyed the breakfast, but with more attention, smile and better customer service, we would certainly come back more often and accept to pay the price, like in. other very good bakery around (the bakehouse at Chelsea in Norfolk for example). Smile, be happy, you’re in Virginia!

This little French pastry shop/bakery in the Neon District is simply delightful. The food is authentic and amazing, the service is superb, and the shop itself is cute and neat as a pin. If you want a baguette, a croissant, or a thousand other French delights, you simply cant pass it up.

Havent been to any bakeries in France, so I cant really compare. Actually, never even been to France. But I can tell you this, one of the best bakeries Ive ever been to. Highly recommend the baguettes. Youll never go back to the store bought ones.

This place is such a wonderful find!!! It was started by a french couple who are absolutely delightful. They were so hospitable and delightful to chat with.I was torn between the croissant or the baguette sandwich. In the end I opted for their ham & cheese baguette sandwich and I was not disappointed. As a matter of fact its a decent size sandwich and I planned to save half for later ... It was so good I couldnt stop and ate the whole thing! The baguette was fresh, nice crunch on the outside but soft on inside. I wish I had bought another baguette to eat with dinner!The chocolate madeleine is more a matter of preference. Just think dry version of a brownie, but lighter choc flavor with chocolate chunks. My friend loved it but I probably will choose a different desert next time.And there are so many options to choose from!!! Between fresh made croissants (theyre made fresh daily), macarons, pastries, and fruit flavored items. I can visualize all the yummies but just cant remember all the names. But I will definitely be back!You will not be disappointed!

As a bakers wife I am a little biased when it comes to good croissants, but this was perfect! We also bought a baguette that was perfectly crusty on the outside but soft in the middle. The upstairs seating was beautiful with the light coming in from the windows. Definitely a spot to check out if you are in the Neon district!

Upon walking in I dont know if I was greeted by the staff or the fresh baked aroma first! We had an almond chocolate croissant, a strawberry tart, and a fresh baguette and they were all delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here whenever you are in downtown Norfolk and youre looking for some tasty, fresh baked treats!

I’ve been here too many times to count. Spent entire afternoons here... lunch... dessert and coffee... with family and friends. Never have trouble finding free parking. Never rushed. Plenty of cozy seating. Hear French spoken by patrons and staff every time I’m here. I feel like it’s a treat and a privilege to “enter their world.” I’m not a coffee drinker but love even their black coffee! No bitterness! Compliments their desserts so well. I’ve been hesitant to post because I dread the day I won’t be able to get a table!

This place is so delightful. The wave of sweetness fills the air. I was greeted with smiles and the display case showing golden delights.I got a croissant and the flat apple. The croissant was complex. It was fragile and crispy like glass on the outside. I didnt want to break it. But, it was heavy with flavor. Tender layers sheathed with the golden brown exterior. The flat apple was sweet and sticky. Its buttery. The edges had a slightly burnt tastiness. A perfect foil to the apple filling.I cant wait to go back to try the breakfast options. If youre ever in Norfolk, stop in this place!

This was my first visit to this sparkling bright spot in Norfolks NEON District, but it may become a regular stop, diet be damned! Absolutely divine pastries! The smell of freshly baked bread is intoxicating, add the smell of chocolate and now you know what Heaven is!I selected an assortment of fabulous pastries to take to work: chocolate eclairs, almond croissants, chocolatines, macarons, mini tarts, and french meringues. Yes, I was THE most popular person in my workplace!The proprietor and his wife are both adorably French and they clearly live what they do. I HIGHLY recommend that you make the trip to La Brioche, where you will find Paris right here in Norfolk!

La Brioche is the best bakery! Customer service is great, and the baguettes, oh my! When I went back to France 2 years ago (I’m French by the way), I was constantly comparing the baguettes to the ones from La Brioche, and not many compared! The crust is perfect and the inside is to die for. But let’s talk about the pasteries: amazing! The passion tart is their new wonder and I can’t help but dream about it! The croissants and chocolatines (pain au chocolat for us French 😉) are fluffy and delicious. They do so many different varieties of tarts, cakes, sandwiches, lunch items and breakfast items, it’s always hard to pick one. They’re all good! And don’t get me started with the eclairs… anyway, from one French customer, I promise you you will not regret it. I saw people saying it’s a bit pricey, but when you know everything is fresh, done with organic and safe ingredients, and made with so much love, you just look over it. This is my happy place. This is my home away from home. Come say hi and enjoy a coffee with a raisin turnover! ☕️ 🥐 🥖 and take a baguette home, like French people do!

I wanted to try everything. I will definitely be back for more! The tart had a creamy light filling and lovely glazed strawberries with a crust that tasted like a crisp sugar cookie. The staff was friendly and helpful. Upstairs, there is an airy space with a huge window and lots of comfy seating. Its a perfect place for a coffee date!

Simply delicious! Everything here is delicious! Coffee, bread, pastries and sandwiches! I highly recommend a stop here for a baguette or a sandwich or croque monsieur. Not far from downtown and an easy walk even from Waterside. This is a great morning spot when all the items are super fresh and plentiful. If you are working or visiting downtown stop by before work and enjoy during the day.

I had an excellent cappuccino. The baguette was soft, fresh and crispy. Loved it. The cinnamon crisp was flaky, light and not too sweet. The ladies were very patiently explaining what was in each dessert. Very serviceable. Recommend. Will have to come back to try the croissants and other desserts.

I was so excited to try this place! Good bread and pastries are my ultimate weakness and having been in Paris I was dying to stop by La Brioche! They did not disappoint! I had the Croque Monsieur and my boyfriend had the chicken salad sandwich on a fresh baguette. Both were amazing! The chicken salad was the best I’ve ever had. Took home an assortment of croissants and eclairs and they were equally delicious. I could’ve eaten the whole box myself! Will definitely be back as I’ve heard wonders about their coffee and quiche. Wish this place was closer to my house, I’d eat there every day!

The french bread is divine and the service was really good. I do think $2.50 is pricy for a macaron, and I wish they sold the chocolates individually, though.

I saw this place on Instagram. So this morning I went there to buy some bakery for breakfast. Every single pastry was not fresh neither tasty. Now my husband and I have a stomach pain.

The croissants were super good. My wife tried the lemon tart and although it was good we both agreed that the lemon flavor was too intense for us. We want to try the breads, which looked really good. Service was good. Would definitely go again for the croissants and to try other pastries.

Came in for some madeleines and to use the restroom. The staff werent nice to me or the couple in front of me, but they werent outwardly nasty either. The flavor of the cookies was good.

The baguettes were authentic and the woman who worked there was very nice. I shouldve gone back for some desserts because the eclairs looked delicious.

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious treats!

We got nearly one of everything this morning and it was all tops. The Paris-Brest was particularly special. The croissants are authentic, which I believe is probably unique in this area.

Youre met at the entrance with the smell of fresh baked pastries and breads, just before a warm greeting from the owners. Food is great...coffee is rich and strong; just how I like it. As a big plus, I just found out that theyre preparing to add a wine and cheese menu as well. Cozy atmosphere too!

My friends and I ordered 5 different menu items and every single one was amazingly well done. From the flaky pastries to the savory croque monsieur,your tastebuds will think you died and went to France!

Everything at La Brioche is made from scratch and delicious. The baguettes are amazing as are all of the different pastries that are available. This is a very wonderful place with very friendly staff.

Amazing! If you want fabulous pastries this is the place. I had the best croissant Ive ever had anywhere, including Paris. Two French sisters are responsible for this bit of heaven that opened in March 2019. I highly recommend you go there.

Great traditional french bakery. Croissants are perfectly buttery and flaky. And the baguettes(my personal favorite) are incredible. I could eat 2 a day if my diet allowed it.

Four of us had lunch and dessert here. Everything on the sandwhiches was incredibly fresh and the bread was to die for. It was tough to pick only one dessert, and we each picked something different but enjoyed every bite. The staff was helpful and friendly. Yum, will definitely go back!

Really special NO KIDDING French bakery right in the heart of the Neon District on Norfork. The staff is attentive and great to speak with. Pastries were OUTSTANDING. Didnt have a sandwich, but will next time. Very much worth the trip!

Ive been coming here for a while, and my experience whenever I roll up at this bakery is always a wonderful one. The flavors, and the quality of their goods really show off. This is a proper boulangerie at the heart of the NEON District that I can always count on to get my fix of bread or of their sweets. I always feel welcomed by the warm customer service and if youre in town, you should do yourself a favor and swing by this spot.
