Theresa is fantastic! She took the extra time to help me design my odd shaped kitchen into a great design. She was also able to provide quality kitchen cabinets within my budget. There were a couple of changes along the way and Theresa was extremely flexible and prompt in providing extra material and exchanging items.

My experience here was phenomenal! They are Low in staff but, thanks to a sweet young lady by the name kaylie she managed to clear out a crowd of people all waiting for her as fast as she could. Best of all she continue with a great attitude and a smile in her face. If you looking for professionalism go see her she designed our dream kitchen and just about down with everything will be back to buy some more.

Walked in and the front desk woman, she could of either being Dominican or African American, had the nastiest attitude. Didnt even greet me and my mother. Looked at us like we couldnt afford stuff from this place and didnt offer any sort of help. We walked out and purchased literally right down the block from them. Customer service is dead these days. So sad.

Our experience at Home Surplus was wonderful!! As soon as we met Teresa, we knew we were in good hands. From the start of this whole process, she showed she truly cared about designing our kitchen in a way that would be functional for us. She worked with us on every single detail and we couldnt be more thankful. She answered our very many questions and tolerated our visits day after day. After many years of doing business here, and many thousands spent. I have to say I am never coming back here again and it’s all over a $250 vanity. Vanity came damaged and when I went to exchange it the next day. I got nothing but the run around and accused that I damaged it. That they have never had a damaged piece come back before, very hard to believe. I felt very insulted and it was handled extremely unprofessional. Take your business somewhere else, if there’s a problem don’t expect them to make things right.

My wife and I had a great experience at the original Home Surplus in Keyport. We heard about their new store opening in North Bergen and decided to take the visit. They were able to replicate the same great product and experience from Keyport along with some other products that Ipex used to carry. OK, So last year I put a review on line about my experience in reference to Teresa and Ipex. But this year, other than Teresa still having her very pleasant, professional and helpful personality things have changed unbelievable worse. 1st. cabinet order came nearly 5 weeks after ordering which was about what was said. Mind you we had to pick them up due to their truck in repair shop. 8 of 16 that came were defective or damaged. 6 others were still being delayed. This delayed my install for the customer in a major way. Then the 2nd order of replacements for the damaged cabs. came nearly 2 to 3 weeks later along with a truck that they rented. Upon delivery the first 3 of 4 cabinets were once again damaged. So we had Miguel (great guy by the way) take them all back after speaking with Teresa, even good ones.... my customer and I were disgusted. So Now!! here we are 10 + weeks later and there are still 1 base, 2 uppers, and 2 cabinet doors still not delivered, or any word on when they will be coming for sure. Some where between 2nd and 3rd go around poor Teresa was no longer there at showroom? That was the only glue that was holding this place together. The lack of info., phone calls not getting picked up during bus. hrs., and the total unprofessionalism that has occurred since the past year of new ownership is disgraceful. I have shopped there for over 10 years and NEVER had these issues. But never again! They lost this contractor. BUYER BEWARE

DO NOT GO HERE FOR CABINETS!!!Please read entire reviewFirst of all, Theresa at home surplus was very helpful, but read on to hear about my experience.I ordered cabinets on Jan 7th. I was told 4-6 weeks, ok- no problem. So on Feb 17th, I was getting impatient waiting to hear about them arriving, so I come to find out some had arrived and went with my contractor to pick up what we could, because the store was without a delivery truck. Upon unboxing, 8 of the 16 we picked up were defective or damaged. We called about it and Theresa said they would call the company (Echelon Cabinets, I think).So part 2, we were supposed to get the defective ones remade and they would be in in a week. So now over 2 weeks later the replacements arrive. Once again, 3 out of the 4 we unboxed had defects or other damage from the factory. Now, without a kitchen for 2 months and I have to find cabinets. Thanks, home surplus.So anyone looking for a horrible experience, go to Home Surplus

Amazing staff, especially Teresa and service! I ordered around 50 gallons of Benjamin Moore paint for my house. The paint was ready quickly, and pick up was a breeze. When I came to pick it up the staff knew exactly which one was my order.I plan I’m ordering my doorknobs and kitchen cabinets from them too.

I stopped in for Benjamin Moore paint, and to my surprise, I found everything I needed for my bathroom. I found tiles, vanities and a beautiful shower door. Amazing!! I dont even know where to begin, I just moved into my place and I needed to repaint my whole thing. James, very nice man with a cool beard, helped me find the exact color I was looking for! If it wasnt for his honesty and truthful opinions on some of my boyfriends questionable choices, I wouldnt be very satisfied with my new walls. I went to Home Surplus and they really had beautiful stuff. I got my kitchen cabinets from the keyport store but I wanted to get replacement windows as well. Boy were they friendly. James, Teresa and Cristina are a fabulous team. Go there for what you need.

This has been the worst company I have ever dealt with. My contractor ordered windows and was promised a 3-4 week turnout. It has been over a month and the order is still not ready. My contractor has called numerous times to check on the status of the order but they never call back to let him know if it is ready. I called them furious today, they told me they were going to call me back to let me know if the order was ready and they never called. I had to call them again to ask. They are ill mannered, unprofessional, and careless about their customer satisfaction. Avoid this business at all costs.

First of all why are the employees not wearing masks!!! Are they immune to COVID? You ask your customers to wear a mask but yet you guys fail to do the same. The world is trying to contain the pandemic and here you guys are not wearing no masks, this the kind of behavior that prolongs the process of defeating COVID. I am very disturbed to see this behavior from a well established business.

Fantastic personalized service! I never write reviews, but... Teresa and James custom designed my kitchen, recommended great ideas, and handled all my change requests with white glove. Dealing with them made the remodeling experience stress free. I’m going there again now for windows and definitely recommend this place.

So few months ago I started looking in to kitchen remodeling and just stopped by to see what my options were. One of the guys that works there, James, gave me a pretty awesome price, some pointers and ideas. Few weeks later it all began.The whole process took a while, just like any other construction would, but James went above and beyond with exceptional customer service. Would use him over and over again!However, the guy for stone and tile that they deal with “Devine design” is a total d... b..., horrible people skills, calls you back 3 days later ( if you’re lucky ) to just set up the appointment to measure the surface... His response was “ You’re not the only one I deal with ...”?”, wasted another 3 weeks because of that d... !!!Long story short, I found another company right in town, “JJ Marble and Granite”! From start to finish amazing guys, work was done in 3 business days, amazing stone selection, just absolute pleasure to work with. Great prices, super professional and truly quality work! They had this amazing / gigantic stainless steel sink that came included with the price of stone. All came together so beautifully ❤️

I stumbled upon this place while going to the Walmart on Tannele Ave. When we passed by, I saw beautiful doors in the windows of Ipex Home Surplus. I stopped and was glad I did. Teresa and James were super helpful. I purchased a new vanity for my bathroom. It was beautiful, good quality and not expensive. When I am ready to do my next project, I will go to this place. Drove to this store because they were open until 7:00 pm. When I arrived at 6:30 pm, the doors were locked. Staff were in the building but did nothing to help me.Make sure to call before you come to this store. The operating hours online clearly are not correct.

Never order anything custom from them! Even going down in person and pointing to items that you want will not guarantee your order is accurate. They will order the wrong item, and then once you get it and tell them it’s wrong, they tell you that’s what you ordered, too bad, and “we don’t make mistakes”. I drove an hour and 20 minutes to their location, took their salesman directly to the cabinet that I wanted, color, style, and timeframe was discussed. He typed away, 10 minutes later, I get the invoice, and everything seems okay. The color listed on the invoice was close enough to what I thought the color would have been called, so I didn’t even second guess it, because just 10 minutes prior, I pointed and touched the one I wanted. 4 weeks later, my cabinets arrive, and they are the wrong color and style. But because they had it on the invoice that way, I am stuck with it. They want $2500 to swap them out, and that’s doing ME a favor. The “owner” Jim, is not professional. While trying to work out this issue, he tells me he has a customer and can’t talk to me anymore. I AM A CUSTOMER! He tells me he doesn’t make mistakes, and that I ordered it the way I got it. I wasn’t aware that I typed in the order, cashed the check I wrote him, and assembled all of this myself. Do not do business with these guys. They can’t admit when they made a mistake, and they don’t know how to handle it when they do.

IPEX has been my go to home supply store for nearly 20 years. Ive completed multiple renovations for myself and my family members with IPEX. Jimmy, James, Teresa and everyone have always been professional. They have treated me like family and their customer service has been unsurpassed with any minor issues. I cant thank them enough. I ordered windows for a new home, Teresa the Manager said it would come in 3-4 weeks, fast forward week 8 windows finally came in, wrong size, wrong type. Teresa Ross states the policy is no refund or exchange reordered new windows another 3 weeks charging us for their mistakes, Place is horrible stay away!!! Customer service is horrible call for an update never hear back!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!!!Where do I begin? Ill keep it short. 3 months to get my cabinets that were promised within 3 weeks. Got the mother of all runarounds. Finally after constant nagging on my part I got the call that everything was in and ready for delivery. Set up delivery date and had my wife waiting to receive it at the house. They told me that they wouldnt carry the pieces in. I then cancelled delivery and set up a pick up where I went to get them myself. I had to pay in full before even seeing anything. I also noticed that the display that we chose from was dismantled, possibly to complete our order. After waiting for someone in the warehouse to help us or give us the cabinets, one of their employees shows up with a hand truck and a bunch of opened and re-taped boxes that was complete mess. I asked him to help us load the truck and he replied, Haha, I dont work for you! Needless to say, all they cared about was getting paid. ZERO customer service, ZERO reliability. I will never return to that place!!!!!!! If I ran my business like that, Id be out of business.

Ipex Home Supply Deceive ConsumersI purchased a set of Armstrong cabinets from Ipex Home Supply (8825 Tonnelle Ave, North Bergen, NJ) in April 2013. The quality was astonishingly poor with deformed doors, side boards and damages on the back of the cabinets, among many others.The dealer has been repeatedly telling us that the cabinets were “made in USA”, that is the major reason I placed the order. Upon delivery, I saw the label on the box says assembled in USA with foreign components.Responding to our inquiry, the owner Teresa Ross said “foreign components could be one screw from outside the USA”. It is totally fraud. I paid more that $4,000, much higher than foreign cabinets.I am going through the process of complaining through the Division of Consumer Affairs in New Jersey. I wish I had never made this purchase.

Absolutely the worst place to buy cabinets! I purchased kitchen cabinets and was told that I would receive them in 2 weeks. It arrived 4 weeks later. Then one of the cabinets was not fully assembled. Davian was not helpful with telling me he would contact me and follow up with this. He never did, I had to continually follow up with him. Then he lied and said he spoke with the warehouse and it would be on the truck on wed. I called that Friday and he told me it should have been there Thursday and didnt know why it was not delivered. Then he proceeded to tell me that he was on top of it. Considering that I had to follow up with this company every step of the way, I just wanted to laugh at his ludicrous statement. Still waiting for the cabinet by the way. Lesson learn do not pay until all the cabinets are inspected. If there was an option for half a star, that would be the rating for this store.

In response to Piero Fasolo, the order was placed 5/10/17. While there was a major delay from my supplier, it did not take 3 months to come in. We received your order with some back orders which was not in our control. Every time you had called we were on the phone with our supplier trying to get answers. We had the delivery set up for you and only your wife was there to accept the delivery, but our policy for all deliveries are sidewalk only. It was not because we wanted to give you a hard time, we are just not allowed to go into any houses. You then advised us to wait for you to tell us which day you could accept the delivery, but then decided to pick up from us instead. As for the display coming down, that had nothing to do with completing your order. We removed the cabinets because it was sold as part of our display sale and because we are no longer using that supplier due to the issues in your review. The cabinets would have to come opened because they are assembled here and re wrapped in the packaging. That is how they all come, it does not mean they are used cabinets. The issue of the employee responding like that, if that did happen it was not brought to our attention while you were here in which we would have handled that kind of attitude immediately. We do not take that kind of response lightly and a past employee was fired for that because it was brought up immediately. Lastly, the issue with being paid, that is standard procedure. If any of our customers have any issues we do not run from them just because we got paid.
