We recently went here for dessert and were very impressed. The ice cream menu is vast with several options to suit any taste. Be prepared to wait as the line can form out of nowhere. We had lunch here the next day and liked the foot long hotdog and BLT. The BLT had tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, three slices of bread and 10+ slices of bacon. The food is good but the service is a bit slow.

The food was awesome as always, made fresh and fast, with polite and prompt service for a Togo order. Large Chef Salad and Large French Fries. Huge portions, enough for 4 servings of each, for under $20!

Would of given 5 but I was asked to please wait and I had no problem doing so. Sitting at the drive through window for 10 minutes before my order (a chocolate milkshake that was AWESOME) was even taken, I then observed an employee on his phone sitting down peeping through the window while the other guy was holding conversations with the people inside.

September 4, 2021 at approximately 1401 hours arrived 6554 Rivers Avenue Suite A location. Entered and approached counter. Clerk had to be told by other emotee that I was standing two feet in front of him. Had and easy order Chili cheese hot dog as a meal and an extra large fry and water. Charged for just the hot dog and a large fry. Received water cup. There was no one else in the business when I walked in, just employees.Asked if I wanted everything on my hotdog. What else is on a chili cheese hotdog? Confirmed that I wanted chili and cheese on a hotdog.20 minutes later, still waiting for a hot dog and large fry. Cook time on a dog is ten or less. Fries about the same.No leadership on shift. Bunch of kids being kids. Two folks in window, sometimes three. A guy who ordered AFTER me got his larger order first. Like 4 minutes after me.25 minutes still waiting.At 30 minutes, the cook confirmed that I wanted just chili and cheese on my Chili Cheese Hotdog.Used to be my favorite spot and best of the Ye Old Fashions. Now, wont come back.At $8.48 for a hotdog and one fry, I could have bought the ingredients, gone home and made this meal quicker and cheaper.I wont waste my time or money here.

They have vegan ice cream! Not the best Ive ever eaten, but I was still impressed that they had it as an option. The guys working were super nice; however, they had a really hard time keeping up with the orders..

There always seems to be lots of young guys working there(Rivers Ave).However, I never been treated with anything but the UTMOST RESPECT everytime I go there. Brian is a treasure. I look for him each time Im there. Great ice cream and oh my goodness the ONION RINGS❗❗❗🤤🤤🤤. LOVE THIS PLACE.

My wife and I were craving milkshakes and Ye Ole happened to be nearby!We pulled through the drive through a late Wednesday evening. We were surprised to see how packed it was! The wait wasnt too long and it was well worth it in the end.We got a pistachio and strawberry milkshake. I love that they offer almond milk and vegan options. I usually prefer almond over whole milk, so I requested my regular strawberry with almond milk and it was on point!The milkshakes were so good. Reasonably priced.Fun little spot! Definitely would come back!

Very slow service, obviously under staffed... And the ice cream was so melted from the get go that it was immediately running down the cone and making a huge mess. Definitely not worth $5.

I’ve been here plenty of times and it’s amazing but 8/9/21 the staff, service, EVERYTHING! Is OUT OF ORDER! (Mainly the female African American cook who makes it very clear “she doesn’t give a fuck” out loud every time the cashier ask for food for the customers ….And these CHILDREN that are staffed with NO type of care doesn’t makes it any better.

I ordered wings and a hamburger combo. Wings were nice and hot. Burger and fries were not. They obviously cooked the burger and fries too early.

Zero stars if I could.....At 4pm on a Saturday, I placed an online order that was charged to my card but not processed by the store. I arrived at the store to find my order cancelled and on-duty manager working double duty as the only cook on duty. 4 employees serving ice cream and no cook on duty. After waiting 15 minutes, just speak to about my cancelled -yet billed order, I left and when to another company. There is alot more things that I saw but I will just say, stay away from the Rivers Ave location until major changes are made. PS: Their website did great on refunding me.

I got a chocolate and mint chocolate chip scoop on a sugar cone. There were out of waffle cones 😥 but it was delicious anyway. Looked like they had a large menu of all kinds of good food. No photo I was busy eat before it melted.

Went in to order a banana split and some ice cream with my fiancee and my daughter. The banana split looked like a toddler did it, the guy who serviced us was clearly NOT trained. He had no idea what was on the banana split and was telling us there was an upcharge for additional toppings that came in it. My fiancee waited an additional 15 minutes for just butter pecan in a medium cup. My money was refunded but I dont like my overall experience. Being a business owner myself I wouldve never put someone on the front line servicing and helping my customers who isnt prepared. Not only was your employee incorrect with his information but he didnt apologize for wasting our time and we will NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE. WILL KEEP GOING TO THE DOWNTOWN LOCATION ONLY‼️

This was the first time we had been to this particular Ye Olde Fashioned, and it was not a great experience. Sure, it couldve been worse, but we saw a lot of employees who didnt care about their job. It was evident because they were wasting ingredients. Not amazing customer service either. This one definitely doesnt hold a candle to the others, but the ice cream is still the best 💜

Everyone is very polite and the food is great as well as the ice cream. My go to is the BLT but the patty melt is great, TRY THE FRIES they are amazing especially with a side of cheese sauce. You really can’t go wrong, they don’t mess around! This really is such a hidden gem to new comers of Charleston. A true mom and pop eatery. One thing that is my only criticism is that some of the teenagers could use better social skills and customer service in general. Nobody has been rude they just seem to be a little confused and aren’t clear when communicating.

Was super excited to try some vegan ice-cream! We get there and the place looks cute and we are happy to try this place. But we come in and wait for 20 minutes without anyone even saying hello or telling us they’ll be right with us. They weren’t even busy. Maybe 4 people in the whole place. We just left because we didn’t want to give money to somewhere who doesn’t even have the least bit of customer service. I don’t recommend.

Stay away from their night shift!!!This was doordash, orders were completely unorganized. No apparent manager to deligate or guide employees. Had two orders to pick up, waited 38 minutes for a chef salad because the woman bagging food was too busy arguing with the cook. As a former restaurant manager myself, its plain to see that their nightshift is lacking someone to maintain service at nights. Had this not been somebody elses food I was picking up, I wouldve walked out

If you arent very hungry, you might as well turn back now. You will not be able to finish these generous portions of food. And we havent even looked in the ice cream case yet. So many flavors too choose from, youll have the people behind you asking if they can go ahead of you. Youll kindly oblige, cause after all, important decisions are not to be rushed. Inevitability, you settle on Chocolate Chip Mint. Not because youre afraid of change, but because each bite transports you back to a simpler time when you and your family would head to Ye Old Fashioned for your ice cream fix. Enough said.

Needs to be restaffed with friendlier people. Also needs to be kept much cleaner. Use to love this place. Sad to see it falling apart.

This location is my least favorite. This evening I ordered online ahead of time so I could pick up food on my way into work. A chef salad and a sundae- i arrived ten minutes later than my promised pick up time, and it was busy. No problem- i get to the counter finally and say I have a pick up- they say my salad is ready, but the sundae has to be made- I say okay. Grab a seat and wait. watched about 9 customers walk in and get sundaes/ice cream to go as well as 2 uber eats drivers- so i go back to the counter and ask if it is quicker to walk in than to order online, generally speaking- they say it depends- and the original gal realizes im still waiting and starts my sundae- i finally get my food and go to work only to find they gave me french instead of ranch. So yep. Not great service and not a particularly friendly or apologetic staff... but the food and ice cream are tasty so if you dont mind a long wait or finding your own ranch dressing it worth it.

Ice cream was delicious but the sundae portions were enormous. Wish they had a small or mini sundae. Lots of hot fudge and whipped cream is great here.

I used grubhub to order a sundae and a mint chocolate shake. The sundae was absolutely delicious, the shake on the other hand was terrible. It didnt seem to have any dairy in it. It was incredibly light and almost watery, most likely wont get a shake again from here it was that bad.

After asking for a strawberry sundae and the server not asking me any questions, I got strawberry ice cream with wiped cream and a cherry... sorry but that isn’t a strawberry sundae and she didn’t seem to even care and my wife root beer float barely had any ice cream in it when we got to the car.I’ve been to other Ye Ole Fashioned Cafe & Ice Cream and the ice cream is great and so is the food but without good service... you’ll have no business from me or my friends.

I grew up in the low country and have always loved going to Ye Ole Fashioned. I live in GA now, but whenever I visit home I make it a point to make this a stop on our trip. The location in Summerville is awesome, the location in North Charleston on Rivers needs to be closed!! My kids were even commenting on employees not wearing face mask, dirty tables, using a dirty cloth to clean dirty table. I almost invited my daughters teammates to join us at this location. Needless to say our last visit to the N Charleston location.

The salad I had was delicious until I bit into a bedazzled stone from someone’s clothing. Sent an email and got a response from another location in which it is owned by someone else. Maybe I will get a response from Rivers Ave owner/manager soon!

Everything was extremely awesome!!! Teriyaki wings, icecream shake, and a banana split 🤤for breakfast...lol. The grub hub delivery 🚘driver was also so on point with delivery that I gave her an extra $5 on top of the credit card $7 prior tip. Definitely the right spot to try👍.

My steak and cheese was delicious, the waitress was very nice and made sure that the ice cream which was good was bagged separately from everything else.

A few of us went out to lunch, and 2 of us ordered the Super Club sandwich. While the overall quality of the sandwich was good, the lettuce on the sandwich was atrocious. Enclosed is a5 picture of the lettuce.Another member of my party ordered the Chef salad, which came with one very small cup of dressing. My friend was charged an extra 50 cents for the 2nd cup of dressing, which he felt shouldve been free, at request, considering how big the salad was.

This restaurant has deserved a one star rating from me for a while, and you’ll see why if you read this. Last night, I got a call to pick up a DoorDash order for one of my customers, and I walked toward the waiting area in the back where couriers are instructed to await pickup. So I think okay, no problem, the staff will prepare this order in a timely and orderly fashion — but as on many other occasions, that didn’t happen last night.Do you remember the waiting area I mentioned earlier? I waited patiently for the customer’s order for about fifteen minutes, and not once in that whole timespan did an employee ask who I was picking up for (I had my DoorDash mask on), and they didn’t listen when I checked up on the progress of the order. This staff is totally incompetent, lazy, and inefficient — the fact that I had to walk over to the ice cream freezers near the register to push them to begin preparing the food is unacceptable — and I would’ve fired each of the three employees on the spot if I witnessed what I witnessed. The employees in question are as follows:• Black male, red shirt, dreadlocks. Early to mid-twenties.• Black female, blue or red shirt, and blue/black braided hair.• White male, non-company hat and a collared shirt.The man with dreadlocks kept looking at me, not realizing that I am now talking to DoorDash because my deliveries are TIMED, which means I had to call them back and keep them in the loop on how grossly incompetent the kitchen staff were — in addition to informing the hungry customer that his ice cream was going to be nearly an hour late. The woman with braided hair was rude, lazy, and dragged her feet as she went from register to the back to bag an order. As she walked toward the drop-off area, I followed her and asked if the bag she was stapling was for DoorDash. She, rather snidely, said that it wasn’t.Next, I decide to take a seat in the waiting area. I strike up a conversation with the man sitting beside me, a bigger man, who said he had been waiting for his food for an HOUR — to which I jokingly replied that he could’ve flown from Charleston to Atlanta in that time. It’s a fact. So finally, the man with the dreadlocks comes back to the kitchen window, and I got his attention and sympathized with him that it was busy — but that I needed him to make my order, because my time is valuable.As a delivery partner on multiple platforms over the years, I’ve had plenty of issues with this eatery/ice cream shoppe; there was one time, with UberEats, that a restaurant employee (talk white male, slender) told me loudly that he was preparing my food, and “I can see you looking over here at me.” Do you wanna guess what the wait time was then? Between 30 and 45 minutes! I don’t care how busy it is — fifteen minutes is LONG ENOUGH to make three simple two-scoop ice creams. This restaurant is totally incompetent and 50% of the employees should be fired immediately.Thank you.

Only rating a four because there was over a 20 minute wait for chilli cheese fries and a small salad but it wasnt my food, it was my best friends so I cant rate the tasting or anything. When we went it there were only a few people but Im guessing the drive through was packed, because all of orders were sitting on the cabinet.

I have gone here for years anwas always happy, but my last 4 visits have been less than stellar. They have gotten things wrong every time! This last time was the last straw. We waited in line for 45 minutes just to place our order...we were only 3rd in line! Placed our order and we were asked to pull around so they could continue taking orders. It wasnt a large order! 2 small ice cream cups and 1 sundae. 20 MINUTES LATER they finally brought our order. We get home and BIG SURPRISE they got it wrong again!!! Even though the receipt had everything recorded correctly I got a sundae with just vanilla and hot fudge and a little cup of pecans on the side because they almost forgot (Asked for chocolate and strawberry w/pecans) I guess I should just be thankful that they even remembered my pecans! Im completely done with this location!

The food is okay but the service is subpar. When we went this evening, there were young kids “working” and they aimlessly walked around like they didn’t have customers. We waited in the drive-thru line 45 minutes and when we finally got to the drive thru window, we sat there 20 more minutes. We did not even get what we ordered. We ordered cookie dough ice cream and we were given pecan. We would have saved more time going out of the way to the Goose Creek location. Thoroughly disappointed, don’t waste your time here.

First time coming to this location and it will be the last. not friendly no customer service. Not sure of the cashiers name but he has facial piercings. I told him he doesn’t look happy to be here.

I absolutely LOVE this Ye Ole Fashioned! This is the first one my boyfriend took me to when I visited the area and I fell in love!Im not fond of the Summerville location, I left a separate review for it. But as for this location I love it! We actually drive all the way from Summerville to go to this one! We will be back for sure! The employees here are also very kind and do a great job here!
