I loved it there— there was an outdoor seating and it was very calming. My daughter got the lemon tart, and it was kind of hard to break, and it was a little on the sour side. Otherwise that, she loved it. My other daughter got the strawberry banana smoothie, and it was too smooth in my opinion, so I think they should make it a little more icy. The service was awesome!! My daughter wanted chocolate but is allergic to peanuts and the person there recommended to her some chocolates that she might like. There were so many choices! I got the iced latte and it was great! So I had a pretty good experience.

Nice little coffee, pastries and chocolates shop in downtown Northbrook. They use Illiys coffee which is not bad. Prices are a bit on the high side, not unreasonable given the location and clientele. Customer service was meh, not sure if the girl behind the counter was just having a bad day. Had an almond Croissant, which was pretty good, not too sweet or over almonds, just right.

Excellent food - the croissants taste like Paris. I have tried sandwiches, crepes and quiches and everything is outstanding. And the Honey Lavender Latte is perfect. Staff is very knowledgeable and a delight. Highly recommend.

I placed an online order for a strawberry banana smoothie and Belgium waffle. It was ready very fast. And sadly we threw almost all of it away. My kid wouldn’t eat the smoothie. I tried it and it tasted weird. The waffle was hard as a rock. It was entirely inedible which makes no sense because we picked it up right away and brought it across the street to eat it. That’s just the food. The showcase of chocolate inside had flies everywhere in the open case. I wasted $20 on a smootbie and a waffle.

Its been over a year and honestly I day dream about this place. Coffee was absolutely amazing. The macaroons were to die for. Make the trip if you havent yet. They are the bomb

Currently the only cafe for a while in this area ever since the Starbucks near by closed down. Unsure if it’s the only cafe in Northbrook right now. Menu is delicious, but the seating is limited. Luckily there is a park right next to it with plenty of benches and places to sit.

I saw a woman with something delicious-looking on her plate so i asked the cashier, whats that? i want that. she replied, i dont know. so i ordered a strawberry crepe. it was just kind of whatever. i have had better street crepes. my iced coffee was good though

On 01/13, I placed an order for two sandwiches; the sandwiches should include egg as ordered. When I arrived home (20) mins away from the location, there was no egg. I called the store to explain the situation, and the person that answered the phone offered to remake the sandwiches. I say no because I would not drive 40 minutes again (20 back and forth) to pick up another sandwich. She then offers to add a note for me to pick up the sandwiches next time at no charge.A week later, I call to place the order for the replacement sandwiches and 2 drinks. When I get to the store to pick up the items, to my surprise, the store manager told me that she will charge for the sandwiches but not for the eggs. At the start, I thought that it was a joke... This is not how you make up for a previous bad customer service experience.She then told me that the last order was correct multiple times... while I was telling her that no, that the previous was not correct, the order was wrong because the sandwiches I ordered had egg and the ones I was handled did not. She then repeated that because the eggs were the only thing missed, she gave me the eggs for free this time... In this entire conversation, she was rude, unapologetic, and not understanding at all.

The mocha Java had the made-on-the-spot hot cocoa I had heard about from a friend AND espresso - a wonderful combination. The traditional savory crepe reminded me of the Greek crepes at this tiny shop in London. I really appreciated the flavors!

The smell of fresh baked goods, coffee, and chocolate alone is worth 5 stars. Excellent coffee, service and eats. Will be back to try more.

Coffee and crepes are delicious but I would suggest ordering items in season, strawberries in June, apples in fall etc. Recently I got the apple cinnamon crepe and it was amazing. Not too strong on cinnamon with drizzle of good carmel sauce, just perfect.

Service is not very good. Was waiting in line and the person taking care of customers took care of 3 customers behind me before me because they were regulars, guess who wont be a regular, treat all of your clients like they matter, it will change your business!

Great little place in the middle of everything and i wouldnt have noticed it. Had the pumpkin cinnamon French toast: bangin! Had the creole chicken and waffle: bangin! By the time I was full and satisfied, I noticed they had juice bar list, next time Im in the area Ill stop by again.

Thank goodness! I absolutely love the Chicago location in downtown and was thrilled to find one north of the City. The staff are friendly and the treats are delightful. If you are in the mood for specialty coffee, crepes, Belgian waffles, European chocolates, and just a cup of joe, Leonidas is the place to be.

Nice service. Deliciously strong coffee and a small amount of chocolate in the croissant. A little smokey interior from deep fryers or some type of heating element in the kitchen made my eyes burn.

I’m currently writing this review from the emergency room. I ordered a brie and apple crepe and haven’t been able to eat anything since. I’ve got the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had in my life. Safe to say I will never come back and I’ll probably never eat a crepe again.

The manager was rude and they keep messing up my order. They forgot to put eggs on my sandwich. Customer service is not good.

The chocolates here a simply divine. I thought the coffee would be an after thought but it held its own. They have a diverse menu of offerings I love their crepes too, really i love everything here, everything!

The first time I had this chocolate was in Amsterdam. I was so excited to find the place when I came home to the United States. I want to buy everything there. The pastries are amazing. They bake them fresh there.

I had Bruxelles (omelette) and warm cider. I would rate both of them average tasting. The cider was served in a mason jar an there was a nice amount.

Its a super cozy, clean and tasty cafe. Its not big, so even if its full, it doesnt look crowded. its like a family type coffee shop plus delicious and huge freshly in your front made crepes, lots of chocolate flavours and shapes. OMG, i liked it so much, i felt like somewhere in Italy or Belgium.

This is a great place in downtown Northbrook to come for a drink and a snack. They have different types of hot chocolate, made to order lattes and coffee, and lots of sweets options. It is more expensive than a chain coffee place but you get what you pay for in quality. Its a small space so cant accommodate a big group but the staff is always very friendly and helpful.

I used to love this place and often went for crepes. Last visit disappointed though. Portions became smaller and crepe itself did not taste good. Service is good.

I stopped in for a double expresso and to try some of their chocolate. The chocolate tastes amazing!! Plus the large selection will have you wanting to buy it all. The double expresso was served hot and was very tasty The people behind the counter were extremely helpful and courteous. A must stop for the chocolate and coffee conasseuir.

Nice atmosphere and the food was okay, but severely understaffed. Came in with a friend and he was done with his breakfast before my meal was served. One employee was working and she had to ring up, prepare food and drinks and clean. The crepe was bland and the yolk of the egg on the croque madame was hard. Whats the point of having an egg on a sandwich if its not runny?

These are the same very chocolates that I enjoyed at Grand Place in Brussels! Apparently they are imported directly from Brussels to Chicago. Leonidas is famous in using 100% cocoa butter with no preservatives. Try Manon Cafe or the new 100th anniversary chocolates. Moderately priced as compared to domestic or Swiss alternatives.

I have always come this establishment for several years and even though the workers are always different (high turnover, I wonder why?) the service has been good. Until today! The woman who is working today 12-09-18 is the most rude and incompetent person I have met. Asked for a frappé and it was tasteless, the fraise waffle was bad and she was not even friendly. If she doesn’t know or wants to serve people. She shouldn’t be working in a service business. Very disappointed Of this experience. Hopefully, this woman learns how to be a good waitress!

Yummy.. Tried the original Belgian waffle for first time. Like it. I kicked myself though not ordered it with chocolate.. Arrgghh.. Next time for sure. The cappuccino however is not as good as I expected. The bean a bit acid. It is hard to judge the coffee now because I drink Jamaican blue mountain at home everyday. So unless they serve a good coffee the taste will be pale compare to blue mountain.
