Stopped in for cappuccino and cookies after going to the aquarium. Both were exquisite. (They even do the beautiful patterns in the foam.) Highly recommended. Theyve also carved out a nice, outdoor seating area with several tables and umbrellas.
Coffee here is great! Definitely a good place to grab breakfast!
I mean this is my first review of any restaurant... to say it was perfect is an understatement... I need to bring it to Maryland. The food was fresh and delicious... and the croissant the best ever
Simply THE best coffee in town. Add to that the fact that they bake amazing pastries and make great food means I stop here every day I visit Norwalk.
Been there several times, never had a pleasant experience. The baked goods and the coffee is good but the attitude is horrendous. The last time, the guy putting together my order wouldn’t listen when I kept telling him he had my order wrong. Then when he finally got it, he was even more annoyed with me. I don’t need special attention or even appreciation, just common courtesy. Done!
The food and the service here is excellent! Coffee is great too!
Amazingly good crepes, fresh baked pastries, and a delicious latte macchiato. The patio is a great atmosphere even with the road nearby. Inside is comfortable and inviting. A huge variety of pastries and desserts on display.
OMG! Such a great place! Such a warm and cozy place to sit and enjoy coffee (sooo good!), pastries, and crepes for breakfast! Best crepes ever! Large mural of an historic building in Hungary! Our waiter who took care of our refills, etc. said he actually took the photo! Very friendly and great service! Cafe Dolce definitely gets 5 stars from me!
Not to be missed when in Norwalk. Classic German pastries that were decadent, hot coffee, and, although I did not have any, the desserts looked scrumptious too. Small area of seating inside and out.
Have been coming here since they’ve opened years ago! Staff is always friendly and helpful. (Perhaps little known) fun fact, you can order some of their pastries (sliced cakes) as a whole for birthdays or other celebrations!
First time visit, its Saturday morning 11:10am and I walked in looking for a late breakfast. The man (possible owner) asked if he could help me. I was looking for what Id like and very rudely responds You know were closed right? I replied the door was open. So I dont think Ill be back. Thats not how to respond to anyone especially someone out of town.
The cafe is actually pretty big inside and they had a good assortment of cookies, cakes, and pastriesAs usual we ordered a small black coffee for the husband and a medium iced latte for me. Along with that we ordered a chocolate chip cookie and crescentThe crescent was delicious, it was the first time I’ve ever had one. It was a thin bread like crust filled with a cinnamon streusel and was delicious. The latte at first I though to myself great they just gave me a big glass of milk but it was also really good and the espresso was made correctly. The husband said the coffee was very good so that was a plus. The final cost was $11+ for a small coffee, medium latte, crescent, and chocolate chip cookie.
Espresso was very good. I only drink Espresso and tend to be a bit of a purest. Thanks
Always excellent and very friendly staff. Amazing coffee, spectacular pasties made fresh onsite, and a cool Parisian vibe. Love it!
Had lunch here on our way to Cape Cod to meet up with some friends. There was a nice, spaced out outdoor patio and the food was delicious! If I lived in the area, would definitely have this place in my rotation of regulars. There was also a variety in the items on the menu and plenty of vegetarian options.
Everything here is made with care. The espresso drinks are powerful; the pastries are excellent and varied; the entrees are delicious. The quality is consistent. Take a minute to look through the menu and the two pastry cases, as the selections change frequently, and ask what soups they have that day.The communal table in the center and the high-top ledge at the window mean that there is almost always somewhere to sit, no matter how popular the café is that day or how quickly the small tables fill up.Most of all, I appreciate the calm atmosphere of this family business. The staff are kind to everyone, including each other. They bring your order to your seat (which prevents me from spilling coffee on myself, a great bonus). It is a nice place to share breakfast/lunch with a friend, or to get some work done with a warm beverage close at hand. I also buy espresso beans there: they will grind the whole beans if you ask.
They get 5 stars in my book. Great every single time@
We love this cafe! Best breakfast in the area!
LOVE everything this place has to offer. Ive ordered cakes and pastries from them. Their tres leches is to die for. Went there today for lunch and enjoyed their savory dishes. They have a spinach feta crepe that I couldnt eat fast enough. Also their staff are so kind and generous.Because of covid they have an outdoor sitting area with a picket fence to enclose the space. Its in the parking lot but it doesnt feel like a parking lot. Even if its quiet long enough you feel like your eating pastries at a European or South American bakery.
Ah, Café Dolce...I had such high hopes for you. We came in too late to get anything but pastries and coffee. They stared daggers at us for even asking for coffee and were extremely rude. I thought it might be because we came in half an hour before they closed, it wasn’t. I am in the shopping center often and people who work there told me how happy they are another deli is opening so they no longer have to be subjected to the rude staff here. I don’t write this review to be mean, I am really just hoping someone reads it and uses it to improve the attitude of their staff. Having descent paninis doesn’t mean people will come back if they have a terrible experience here.
When I am in need of a snack, especially due to the limited supply of bamboo in the area, cafe dolce seems the appropriate place. Their baked goods are especially satisfying alongside a cup of coffee. Owners are eager to please which is a nice change from the zoo keepers at the national chain factories. The pastries are on the same level as any specialized bakery. You would be hard pressed to find better quality and taste.
Really good crepe breakfast sandwich. Nicely decorated, clean, and good pastries!
Rude owner, and mean to his employees yelling at them in front of customers
Went in there this morning. The guy at the front spent time chatting with the woman ahead of us, being hospitable with her. When we came to the register ( we are black and she was white) he immediately seemed annoyed when we were asking him about the pastries. He kept rushing us, speaking over us and then he then shoved the tap and pay almost in my face while I was putting in my pin. Hes beyond rude and doesnt treat customers equally. This is what happens with classless service that was learned in the farm fields of Italy.
Worth going back.
Impressed! Very good espresso and tasty pastry! Clean bathrooms too.
Great place. Lots of great pastries. You can call them to order and pick up in store. Many great Hungarian and other European style pastries and coffee.
The cashier guy may be the owner is extremely rude. I will never want to come back again ever. Bad experience and never want to support a business like this.
Every time Ive been here, the food has been fresh and delicious. Great staff and relaxing, hometown atmosphere. Favorite Saturday spot :)
Great food. Frirndly atmosphere. Lots of pastries to choose from. I come here almost every Saturday.
I can’t give you 5, respect your customers and your employees. yelling to them front us it’s not a good behave.
I went to this place this morning for coffee with a friend. I had a mocha latte and a cinnamon roll. Outdoor seating was available, so we sat there and our order was promptly brought out to us. Everything was fresh and tasted great.
If you are a coffe nut you will love this cute cafe. They have a wide variety of espresso drinks and teas. They even have cold drinks like milkshakes and lemonades. They alao have a lunch menu that inclues creps, paninis and in house made pastas! The main attraction in my opinion is their variety of sweet treats. I had the apple strudel and it was so amazing. Flakey crust and it was still warm from baking. You can take your order to go or you can sit in the dining area. There were fresh herbs on the table! This place is a solid 5 stars from service to food. I will be returning for sure.
Fantastic. Great pasteries, espresso and coffee. Friendly staff. Perfect spot to grab a bite.
Great coffee and sweet treats. Amazing salads and paninis. My husband and I stopped here on the way up to Maine from Maryland and it was right off the highway but way better quality than what you would find at a service center.
They dont bother to update their social media platforms when they randomly close for weeks. Drove 40 miles due to their misleading business hours posted on google, only to be greeted by a note on their door “sorry we closed for a week”
Wonderful pastries! A great breakfast stop off CT-15. Clean and friendly.
Great coffee shop in the area. Love my French Vanilla coffee and the outdoor tables. Staff very courteous. Truly recommend
The cashier guy maybe the owner is extremely rude. First time there said to myself maybe hes having a bad day, went back 3 weeks later same attitude never again will i walk in there!!!!!!!!
Sincerely the best coffee Ive had in the US. The roasts are done so well, the flavor is amazing, the crafted drinks are done masterfully as well. Very very good service. Incredibly polite. And the real killer is the food and pastries. Ive had about half the things on their food menu and I havent found anything I didnt like.
I love this place! The baked goods are fabulous! The chocolate croissant is one of the best Ive found in the United States outside of France and Belgium. Coffee is great. The salads and crepes are also awesome. Cant go wrong!
Great crepes, baked goods and coffee
Remarkable place. The pastries are delightful. Friend recommended that I try Cafe Dolce. A+
This little cafe was delicious. Grabbed a prosciutto and salami panini with a pineapple lemonade. Both were awesome! All of the coffee looked great (can’t drink coffee anymore unfortunately). Pastries looked delectable and the service was awesome. Friendly staff, very attentive, happy to help you. So many choices for snacks or meals. Definitely give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve seen one negative review and none of them hat was stated in that review was applicable. Never been here before today, but will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.
Popular cafe with cool atmosphere. Good choices for salads and sandwiches. Freshly made crepes. Amazing coffee. Lots of pastries, which include healthy options. Super friendly staff. Definitely recommend
The food was good, but the owner was extremely rude in regards to our allergies. Basically said if we died from an allergic reaction due to his lack of cleanliness, it would be on us.
I am writing this while I am here now and I am very happy with their food. I ordered the chicken Cesar salad and it was amazing. The chicken was great. It was definitely worth the extra money. I would also recommend their crepes. My siblings were very happy with them. I strongly recommend coming here for a quick lunch or breakfast.
Excellent food! Always delicious

I used to love Cafe Dolce and Ive referred them often. My recent experience was extremely unpleasant however . I was there 23 minutes before closing and asked the girl if it was okay to sit down and eat. She said okay and took an order for cappuccino and crepes. There was no one else in the cafe at the time. I sat down to a lovely cappuccino on a very rainy day and waited for some crepes. I finished my cappuccino and went to the ladies room.I returned to a takeout container with two very anemic looking crepesI asked the guy behind the counter as I understood to be eating in .(the food looked very anemic, cold and tasteless but I said nothing..clearly they wanted to leave) He was extremely rude and belligerentI ve met the owner several times before and I know they all work very hard But this tall slender person who seems to be the manager was extremely rudeThere were two other people having coffee by then One of which was a young lady that had had dialogue with him and seemed to be waiting for him. Clearly he had other business to attend toI was so disgusted with his rudeness I returned the anemic looking crepes untouched and walked out the door. There is enough going on in this world without being insulted when going into establishment .We are all feeling the stressIve seen this guy be wired and rude before in there ALL they had to say was they werent taking any orders for food when I walked in.I would then have enjoyed a lovely cappuccino in the rain and left quietly
Great coffee with a friendly proprietor teaching a new barista who did great!
Wow! Delicious pastries! Love the spinach and feta! Great customer service and excellent coffee! I’ll be back!

D E L I C I O U S !Coffee is great, and anything you want to eat is delicious. Pastries, sweet or savory breakfast treats, crepes, paninis, and any dessert treats(cupcakes, cookies, cakes). Wonderful service, 2 owners/chefs and the whole staff are very helpful. Clean, fresh, cordial atmosphere. Worth stopping by anytime you can.
Oh my gosh—carve a little time and have a seat with a cortado and a blueberry pastry! This place has it all—excellent coffee, amazing pastries, and a cozy, low-key vibe. Plus, it’s family run so everything is kind and thoughtful.
Today My first but not my last experience! Who knew banana oatmeal cookies existed. I loved the coffee too. Next time a real meal! Loved the gentleman on the register with beautiful blue eyes! Very patient and funny.
The best bakery around!
Great pastries, crepes, omelets, good coffee.
This is a wonderful coffee place with always freshly made food. As in delicious lunch and dinner food. Freshly made in house pastries and cakes and super nice staff. We live across town but come here for a great meal and are never disappointed. Specials are always awesome.
Delicious pastries. Great coffee/espresso drinks and matcha lattes. The hot menu is also a favorite including sweet and salty crepes. The owners are really friendly and make sure that you are well served. Overall, would recommend to anyone looking for a sit down meal or a quick coffee drink.
Id give them 6 stars if I could! Been stopping there a few times a year on the journey between Philadelphia and Boston. Its about halfway. Once they were out of the dinner special but when they saw my disappointment, they made me FRESH PASTA! Their cold brew set up is mesmerizing. The desserts are flaky and light and understated and amazing. The soups are complex and satisfying. I cant believe that after all these years they havent moved out of the strip mall!
GREAT. Pastries! They even made a pastry that they dont carry anymore, which was great because every year I ask for those kifli s instead of birthday cake!!!We love this place!!!
Very nice addition to the neighbourhood. Great food with upscale Italian flavour. Terrific pastries. One of the few places around to get a real cup of tea. Friendly attentive service. Quiet. One should try it.
Coffee was poor giving false impression being “good” coffee. I have been to countless top notch cafes given 90+ reviews by Coffee Review. Baked goods and pastries were exceptions and delicious. Customer service was poor where a guy push my hand away to serve me pastries. Also the cashier was rude not handing back change to my hand but tossing them on the counter. The high ratings are misleading ranked by amateurs and snobs distracted by baked items rather than the focus: coffee! Your business is not a cafe despite your expensive equipments. You do a disservice to the companies that make the equipments. It takes an expert to do it right especially good coffee and customer relations. George Howell would be disappointed. You need improvement and I am never returning.
Just had a delicious macchiato and croissant at Cafe Dolce. You can tell everything is homemade and very fresh. Staff was super friendly and quick! Very nice breakfast/lunch spot! I definitely recommend this place and will certainly be back!
Had the prosciutto panini! Great surprise
The pastries here were excellent! I wish it was local to me, as I would be a frequent visitor. Coffee was good too, but this combination of pastry and coffee led to a great start to the day.
A great find just off the Merritt Parkway (Exit 40A). Delicious soups, crepes, paninis, desserts and probably everything else. We were travelling thru from DC to Maine and happened to stop here on our way north. We were so impressed that we made a point of stopping again on our way south a week later. Cafe Dolce will be our lunch spot on the trip to/from Maine for years to come.
I love this place. Boutique coffee shop with the best small roast coffee in Norwalk. Amazing pastries and light food too. Staff is super friendly.
Let’s just say I’m not easily wowed! But this place has taken my ‘wow’ and turned it up the dial a couple thousand notches! You want great food drinks or pastries go here! Great atmosphere and wonderful ambience! It’s the total package: Fantastic owners, staff equally charming and super friendly, best food! I love style - unique interior design and all that stuff and Cafe Dolce knocks this right out of the park! WOWED? I’d say! Enough said!
Great place. Very rustic and chic.A little on the pricey side, but the products are of the very best quality - you get what you pay for.Would definitely go back
DELICIOUS!! Always fresh baked good and all types of coffee, tea and even smoothies!! You wont be disappointed... a must stop, you will thank me later
Great food. server needs to relax.
Met up with a bunch of mom friends and their kiddos for morning coffee date. Its small, but the large common table was free, and we maxed it out! Staff was very fast and accommodating. Lots of good food options for all sorts of diet types, and very clean. Would love to see more coffee shops with kid friendly spaces, but obviously understand that some places just dont have enough space for it!

Bad customer service.
Chocolate rolls are to die for. A must try.
Espresso beverages and breakfast crepes were terrific! Beautiful aesthetic, great service. So glad we stopped in. Grabbed some tasty pastry for the road. Would definitely go back next time in town!
Fantastic little place! Stopped in on a road trip and had an amazing cortado, latte, filled croissant and cake with my partner. Fantastic coffee and delicious baked goods.
THANK YOU, Cafe Dolce, for providing a refuge from the Dunkin Donuts epidemic in this area. I stayed in Norwalk for one night, and wow, I can’t believe the people here don’t stage an uprising against the endless sea of chains and strip malls. Thank you for bringing cappuccino and crepes into the suburban wilderness! May all beings be thereby uplifted! Customers, be sure to ask for a side of greens to complement your ham and eggs breakfast crepe.
Terrific pastries and excellent coffee
Nice little shop to get coffee or cappuccino
Great little cafe! The apple-strudel and coffee were both very good. All the pastries looked amazing, it was hard to choose! Very friendly too. Id definitely go again.
Those cakes are to die for. I love stopping here and picking up a slice to take home to have with tea - it really completes my day off when I do!
