Im sorry but I have to edit my review. The place is clean, employees friendly, but almost $1300 for a radiator, upper and lower hoses and a cap at $140 an hour labor is not right, my front tag was sitting in. the drivers seat! My front bumper and headlight were damaged. I had my van towed and paid $440 for all they wanted to do. Labor for my Tesla model X is not that high, or my 2021 Mercedes 600, Im going to ask for an investigation into this practice and Covid cant be a reason for the charges.

10 minutes after driving away my hubcap fell off. My van gets 35 psi in front 49 psi in the back. Never deflated one wheel when they rotated the tires. The valve covers were only partially screwed on, really!!! To top it off I changed the oil myself the next time to discover they put 5.5 quarts in a 4.5 quart engine. This place is dangerous, avoid it, may save your vehicle and your life.Worst ever experience.

I had a 8am appointment and my vehicle did not get pulled back until 1015am just for them to tell me what I was already aware of. Then I was told that it would be another 30 mins to put a new tire on. SMH. Just a waste of my time that I so appreciate because of course I cannot stay another 30mins. No I will not return.

This place has horrible customer service. I had a 12:00pm appointment and said I would stay with my car until it was finished. I get there and Guillermo told me it would take 2.5 hours to even look at my car. I was also told that I would have to drop it off. This is not what I booked and if this is the case there’s no point in booking an appointment. This was a complete waste of time. I could have went elsewhere.

BUYER BEWARE$2100 damage done to my vehicle by Firestone and no compensationI had a brake inspection and warrantied wheel alignment inspection on 06/24/2021.Below is a numbered sequence of events upon picking up my car.1. The steering wheel and column were covered in grease smudges2. I put the key in the ignition and the horn began blaring3. After numerous removal and replacement of the key the blaring stopped and then the horn did not work. This became a constant intermittent issue between blaring horn or no horn.4. I went back to the shop and the techs had gone for the day.5. The manager could not figure out which fuse for the horn to take out and then could not get it out.6. At this point, I did not have confidence that whatever was done to my car would be properly handled by the Firestone service staff.7. I had an appointment at the dealerships service center for that week and decided to have it looked at there.8. The steering electric system had been somehow damaged and needed full replacement at a cost of over $2100.009. I contacted Firestone directly and had multiple conversations with a person in their claims dept.10. Six weeks later I was told management had decided there was nothing they could do11. Took it back and left the truck with them for a week while I went on vacation and when I picked up the truck the AC was still blowing hot air. Now their AC machine is apparently not working and hasnt been for weeks, so Ive been forced to take it to a different shop to fix what their technician was supposed to have done correctly.

I’ll start with the things I liked. It’s clean, the location is convenient, and most of the staff is decent. However, I’m pretty annoyed. I scheduled an oil change yesterday for this morning at 8 am. I took a screenshot of the confirmation. We showed up at 8 am, and the guy in front said “oh no your appointment is for TOMORROW at 8 am”. I told him I know I scheduled it for today. We went to the car, I found the screenshot in my phone, and went back in. I showed him that it was indeed scheduled for today at 8 am. He then uses the excuse “something must have gotten messed up”. We asked if we could still get it because we already drove over there and he said no because they need to get the filter for it. So basically I believe someone forgot to get the filter and he needed to cover it up by saying something happened in the system. He made us come back at 3:00 in the afternoon. So all in all we wasted 3 hours today driving back and forth twice plus the time we were there. You’d think they’d offer a discount or something because it was their mistake. The second thing that really annoyed me was that we wanted to use a coupon. When we came in the first time we showed him the coupon. He said ok. It was supposed to be $25. When it was time to pay we were charged $90. He said it was because the oil we needed wasn’t part of that promotion. That’s ridiculous, we asked and he said it was fine earlier. What if we wanted to pay cash and didn’t have that $90 on us because he said it would be $25?! You can’t jack the price up almost 4x the original price after we already double checked that it would be the cheaper price. At this point we just paid and left because we didn’t want to be there any longer. We won’t be going back there again.

Long time Firestone customer as they provide great service. First time at this location was November 2020 for an oil change and upon drop off was informed it would be an hour. At the 60 minute mark I checked with the service counter and was informed that they were still awaiting for delivery of my oil filter as the location had just changed ownership and the inventory was out of order as according to their records they had my filter in stock. Long story short it took 2 hours to get my oil changed. However, they gave me a great discount without me requesting to compensate for the delay. I returned in January to get another oil change, everything was back in order and I was in and out in 60 minutes. This may seem long compared to the quick oil change locations but Firestone has qualified mechanics and Ive always been happy with their service (oil change, tire replacement, alignment, etc.). This is a drastic difference from my experience from a quick oil change competitor nearby where I had to take my vehicle back two times as they overfilled or under-filled my oil causing several issues.

If there were a “zero star” or “a half star” rating option, I would give it to this Firestone location in Oak Park. I spent almost $2000, but they fixed all issues they found from my vehicle, EXCEPT for the issue I requested specifically. My vehicle created an unusual noise every time it was on the drive mode. I explained the issue to the staff and thought they would focus on it and fix it for me. However, after my vehicle was inspected by the staff, I got phone calls twice from the manager, and he addressed “other issues” they found in the car. He explained diligently about how those “other issues” are critical enough to cause safety issues. (OK, if “other issues” had to be fixed for the safety, I might as well let them do it, along with the issue I requested.)It ended up that they spent a whole day fixing my vehicle. However, guess what happened? When I picked up my car later the day, I found that they fixed ONLY the issues they found and explained to me on the phone. Shouldn’t they also have taken care of the major noise issue I pointed out? They didn’t!! The noise was still there! I had to explained the manager AGAIN about the noise issue, but he started to make excuses why they did not fix the issue I requested. He first said the noise was caused by the “rusty part” in my vehicle, which they could not do anything about. And then he emphasized that the noise would not cause any safety issue. (Excuse me? You charged me almost $2000 but only paid attention to issues you guys cared about!?) I did not believe the manager’s explanation, and I felt that I was being ripped off.A week later, I took my car to another auto repair shop and guess what? This shop fixed the issue promptly with only $25. They explained that the noise was caused by the exhaust pipe being bent. They fixed the bent pipe and problem solved! (That simple? How come did Firestone staff not find that?)While Firestone fixed “other issues”, which they thought were critical, why did they ignore the issue that really bothered me? Is it because the issue I requested was too “cheap” for them?I would say, the only reason why this Firestone location is still worth one star” is that it opens every day (including Sunday) with long hours. If you need “immediate care”, you probably have no choice. I was a little bit in a hurry that day so I did not spend too much time on reviewing this facility. If I had read the other customers’ reviews, I would not have let them do my car. So if you are thinking about taking your vehicle to this facility, please shop around first because Firestone would try to sell “other things” to you but this does not guarantee your vehicle will really be fixed!

Every single time I go here they are trying to overcharge me. If they would simply do honest business I would use them all the time. Then, I have the luxury of not requiring speedy service all the time. BUT it will take them two days to handle a 30 minute job, ROUTINELY, at least in my experience. My GF has had the same problems. If they could do a good job at a fair price they would have our business. But that does not seem to be their strategy. If I were you I would shop around. The best place I have found is Forest Park Auto, especially for older cars. Rich folks that dont worry about $$$ can probably go to Firestone and be happy. But if you dont have more dollars than sense I honestly recommend Mike at Forest Park Auto.

They discounted me about $50.00 to match the price which was great.I then waited around for over four hours for my vehicle. Not once did they come over and give me any updates. I had to approach them at the three hour mark to find out what was taking so long.I guess they only had 3 out of the 4 tires and were waiting on the 4th tire. How about let the customer know? I would have left and had better use of my day.The waiting area and bathroom was also very dirty. This is not normal so I am not sure what was up.Be prepared to hurry up and wait!

Never going back to Firestone, ever. I had an appointment yesterday at a different location (Elgin on Randall) for an Uber inspection, and arrived there EARLY. An hour and a half goes by (these inspections only take a half hour tops) and they hadnt even started it. Told the guy to give me my keys back (I think his name is Rob) and I left because they clearly didnt care that I had made an appointment to spend money there.Having been to this one in Oak Park before I decided to just bring it here. I called this location and told them Id be dropping the car off in the afternoon on Sunday and he said that was fine. When I got there, the place was locked up at 3:30 even though they dont close until 5. There were plenty of cars in the garage and sitting outside. Seems to me the whole crew decided to head home early for the day instead of working on all the cars that people are waiting for. I stood outside in the cold for 20 minutes calling the phone number and waiting to see if someone would answer the door, and ended up leaving. This is not the first time Ive had issues with Firestone and their service, and trying to swindle you into spending more money than necessary, but this was just ridiculous. This does not follow their so called honesty policy. Im done with you guys, I dont want a follow up. If you dont want my business then just tell me. Dont waste my time.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, TERRIBLE!HOW CAN FIRESTONE GET TIRES INSTALLATION WRONG?!?I bought a new set of tires here for my 2006 Lexus LS 430 in early September, and had a violent rattle from the new tires when I accelerated to 50 mph on the expressway. I returned the next day, and my car was kept two days to diagnose & fix what had gone wrong in the tire installation. After I retrieved my vehicle, i could accelerate, but it was clear to me that I had had a better ride with the worn tires I had replaced. And my rims looked unfamiliar. Two months later I had a flat tire, and discovered my Lexus lug wrench was missing. Firestone must have lost it repacking my spare from the previous ordeal. I bought a lug wrench, put on my old spare, and returned the flat tire to Firestone. Apparently a nail had caused the tire to unravel?! I had to pay $26 for a warranty replacement. With time and patience running low, I imply had the newest tire put in the trunk for a later mounting.Less than one month later, servicing my car at the Lexus dealership, I sought to have my new tire mounted to replace my old spare. They would not do it. Firestone had installed my new directional tire in the wrong direction! I went straight back to Firestone and the manager confirmed the mistake and took my newest tire in custody to reverse the direction. Im certain he remembered our past encounters. He was most rude when I had weeks before tried to express my bewilderment with being worst off with new tires than the old. His solution had been to sell me an upgraded, better tire. This time, I left the tire again and took his sheepish avoidance of eye contact as acknowledgement of embarrassment in place of what should have been apologies. I wanted to be treated like the valued customers our family had been, but I no longer expect that in the encounters at this manager. (Thats who he had told me he was).I expect to have this tire remounted in a day or so with my lessons learned. Dont ever again buy a full set of tires until its absolutely necessary. And when I do buy tires again, avoid Firestone like a plague. And if they cant do tires right, I would not trust them for anything else either.

They did the engine analysisand told me the analysis revealed a problem with the fuel induction system. They called and said I needed a radiator flush also but I declined. I told them to deal with the starting issue only. When they called me again my car still wouldnt start properly. They performed another analysis which I had to pay for. This time it was contaminated fuel. They drained the fuel system. I picked up my car and it ran until the next morning ( same problem). I called them, of course they said bring it back. I decided to take it to a dealer. They ran a analysis and found that the problem had nothing to do with the analysis Firestone gave me. I am cutting up my Firestone credit card. We had a terrible experience with this location. Our first and last.On November 26,18 we called to see if they were able to take in my car for new tires & installation. It was a freezing snowy day so we made it a point to check in first to see if it was possible. They said yes it would take a few hours. Great. I drop off the car, and at this time Im being quoted a different time range- fine. I could clearly see they were busy. Left there at 11:30 they said the car would be ready at 4pm. At 4:30 I called to check in they said they havent gotten to it yet. They would have it ready by closing (7pm) said okay.At 6:30 I receive a call and they immediately started bombarding me with questions. Did I buy the car new or used, were the tires ever rotated, etc I proceeded to answer. I did buy the car new. The tires have been rotated, why?! They were calling me to tell me they couldnt get one of the tires off... it would be additional labor cost now, they could try to torch it off but werent allowed to use that equipment that late and the car would not be ready until the following day. If the piece Broke off it would be additional charges as well. At this point its so late, so we asked to pick up the car and return the next day for them to finish the job.Once we got there and we looked at the tire it was very clear that they stripped it. This has nothing to do with rotating or new/old. In the years I owned the car there was never any issues with any of the tires. To make matters worse when they gave us the forth tire it was the completely wrong size. When we mentioned it all we received was a thats odd- thats not possible, due to the serial number” clearly and visually it was not the correct size. Our entire interaction with this establishment has been stressful and frustrating. We paid for a job that was never finished. I went online and wrote a review via their website, I received a response from Steven B on 11/29 he mentioned they will pass on the message to management (requested my contact info and invoice number) and I never received any correspondence after that. The lack of customer service we have experienced with this company is disappointing. I am writing this review now as we are still experiencing tire issues due to the terrible job that was provided by this establishment. Today, I have found out that they also never sealed the Tires. I am beyond astonished at how an establishment that specializes in tires, could do such poor of a job. I would not recommend anyone to take their car to this place.

AWFUL SERVICE - BEWARE THIS LOCATION!3 very bad experiences in 1 month. They do careless, slow work.(Full description below.)Go to the Firestone in Franklin Park for better, faster service. Twice they had to fix the problems that Firestone in Oak Park caused, without an appointment, same day.Oak Park Firestone is ALWAYS too busy to take good care of your car. Im not sure why, maybe the local residents assume that because it is a business within our wonderful village, it will be high quality? WRONG.They take forever to look your vehicle, their mechanics are either lazy or incompetent (both?), and the guy who answers the phone, while nice and friendly, will BS you about your cars status.Experience #1: The heat stopped working in my car. Brought it in Friday afternoon, with an appointment set up online. I told them that I needed my car back by Sunday end of day so I could get to work Monday. If they couldnt guarantee this, dont take the job. They said they could do that, and would call and update me on the status. All day Saturday I got no updates. Every time I called they said they were draining the coolant so they could replace it. Should be done today (Saturday). Didnt happen. Well, Sunday came, and it was the same response all day. It doesnt take that long to drain coolant. Cmon, just say you havent gotten to it and stop lying to me. In fact, they did not call me until 30 minutes before the place closed on Sunday to come get my car, and only because I called repeatedly and let them know I absolutely needed my car for work.Guess what - I started my car and yeah, the heat worked, but the POWER STEERING didnt work! Popped the hood and the fluid was down below the minimum required level! Called a mechanic over and he filled it, of course taking no responsibility. Said I might have a leak. 10 years Ive never had a power steering fluid leak, you take my car one weekend and the fluid is drained? Thats my fault... riiiiight. Oh and how did you not notice that the power steering is not working when you pulled it out to the parking lot???2nd Experience, the following week: My car wouldnt start, though the battery was practically new. I figured it was the starter. Had it towed in, then got the similar 2-day runaround over the phone. Sure enough I needed a new starter. When I got the car back, it started, but made a variety of unpleasant sounds. Then that whole week it would take several attempts to start, and would make odd sounds every time. Finally took it to another Firestone, they said it was a defective starter! Really?! Did you even test it before deciding you were done?3rd Experience, the following week: My wifes car battery died. Firestone replaced the battery. The next week she goes to get an emissions test and FAILS. Why? Because the Firestone mechanic yanked out a wire to the diagnostic system and failed to replace it. So again we have to go to another Firestone (Franklin Park) to get this simple fix, then head all the way back to the emissions test.My wife and I are both filing complaints to the HR department. This is shameful.

Firestone charged my $130 to put on a reservoir power steering hose. They had my car for six hours and they secured my new hose with bread ties. And to add insult to misery, a worker changed my wheels to summer wheels, but forgot to secure lugnuts to wheel before backing car out. Needless to say this caused damage to my brake caliper, but they swear they didnt do it. NEVER take your car to them!

Stopped in for a check engine light on, but unfortunately they dont read codes without an appointment. Next scheduled service for an engine diagnostic was in 2 days, I told him I would just take it to AutoZone and check the code for free and schedule any service if needed. Miraculously an appointment opened up in the afternoon in which the $89 to plug in a device and read code could be applied. Needless to say, I will stick with other shops in the area.
