This was my 1st time here. My son recommended it. They were very friendly and professional. They were very honest and told me my brakes really didnt need any work. However they changed the brake fluid which hadnt been changed in many years. I would definitely return here

Regular maintenance done annually and, if they find something in additional to that, it’s identified and explained on what it is and if they can fix it. I have a 2014 Ford Focus and it was time to have shocks and struts replaced. They kept the car a day and had it ready. It rides smoothly and I know I got my money’s worth. Thanks Costa Auto Care. I have been coming to this place for over 10 years. I took a long break since I bought a new car that has a service warranty but I needed some tire work. I had a leak in my rear shock absorber and b/c it was still under warranty Costa Auto Care & Tire replaced it at no charge. Even though Honda of Oakland service department technician had previously informed me that one of my rear shock absorber was definitely leaking and the other ones was leaking just a little bit. When Costa Auto Cate & Tire checked for a leak, only one of the rear shock absorbers was leaking, Costa graciously went ahead and replaced both rear shock absorbers. Michael Costa, one of the owners, later showed me the old 2 shock absorbers so that I could see that, indeed, only one of the old shock absorbers was leaking. I took photos of the old shock absorbers so that when I return to the Honda of Oakland Service department I can show their service technician & service manager that they misinformed me about the shock absorber that was “leaking a little” as I could clearly see today that it was NOT leaking at all.Keep up the good & honest work that you do Costa Auto Care & Repair! If you buy your tires via TireRack this is one of the best tire centers to have them installed by. You even have the option for TireRack to deliver directly to them you just take your car in for installation. Best wheel alignment I ever had dead on straight wheel alignment no off center steering wheel or anything like that. They pay attention to so many details even dealerships miss.

I love this auto shop! I unfortunately had a flat tire on Friday night and I went to Costa’s first thing Saturday morning and they repaired my tire and I was on my way in 30 minutes! My family snd I have used them for years! Nothing beats an honest auto body shop. They’re the best!

So..... I came home from Business Costco this morning and to my surprise there was a bolt in my right front tire, I didnt want to remove the bolt because it was completely embedded in the tire. Greeted right away at reception when I dropped my car in the morning. Received a report of services required by early afternoon with details and photo images. Michael spoke with me on the phone to discuss the report, and costs and recommendations. Work was completed by end of day the next day. Greeted right away again at reception when picking up my car. Costa Auto Care does excellent work at fair prices, and I trust them for their integrity and the quality of their work. I like that they are a family business as well.

I love Costa Auto Care so much that I literally still come here even from San Francisco because I care about my car maintenance and I want it to be done by people who care and are honest. I just left and honestly I could not say enough good things about this company, being a family run business Its clear that they care about the integrity of what they do and honestly I feel Like I can trust them, which as a woman walking into mechanic is kind of tricky. I have definitely worked with mechanics in the past who felt like they were ripping me off and Costa never does that theyre always very upfront about pricing honest about your different options and whats high priority to get replaced. I brought my 07 Toyota Camry to Costa Auto Care and Tire after having several different mechanics/auto shops attempt to diagnose the issues I was having. I was referred to CAC&T by one of the mechanics that was unable to confidently diagnose the cause of my vehicle shaking, VSC system light and check engine light. When I first arrived to bring my car in they were fully booked for a week. So I scheduled an appointment to bring my car in the following week. I could tell they were a legitimate shop by the systems they had in place. They input my info into a computer right inside the garage and confirmed my appointment. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by Maria the office manager. She was very friendly and welcoming. Their computers had just frozen, but she was able to still get me checked in. Olando was the lead mechanic/owner who was overseeing my diagnosis. The price of the diagnosis was higher than I have been charged elsewhere. $180!! Which is why I considered giving them 4 stars instead of 5. At this point I was willing to try anything. I needed my car to be safe. I drive to Newark from Oakland 5 nights a week in the middle of the night for my overnight shift. Of course I was reassured that if they werent able to figure out the problem that I wouldnt be charged anything. They were able to figure it out and complete the work the same day. I opted to wait on some of the work, because the price was out of my budget. They offered me a financing option with a 3rd party finance company they work with, with zero interest if paid in 3 months. I decided to wait until I could afford it, find somewhere cheaper, or have a family member do it (since it is a more simpler problem to fix). I may end up bringing it back to them though cause they were great!! Their work comes with a 3yr/36,000 mile warranty (I believe those were the terms). I would definitely recommend Costa Auto Care and Tire to anyone in the Oakland/San Leandro area and beyond.

The staff is friendly and easy to talk to, they were communicative and clear about recommended services, quick in executing the service, and very fair with their pricing. I had my car shipped from TX and appeared to have some trouble with it drifting on the hwy. I expressed my concerns to Michael and although they were busy, he took the time to diagnose the vehicle, discuss it with me in great detail, provide his recommendations, and complete the work. I went in for a smog check which went great and really quickly. I mentioned that I could not see very well at night and Olando suggested I upgrade to the Ultra Bright Headlights so I did and they work wonderfully!

I usually keep my cars for 10 years and have literally been coming here since 1992. I honestly trust them more than my dealership; and rightfully so, as just recently, my dealership tried to sell me brakes for 700.00; they are [pads] at 2mm and need to be replaced...Michael forwards me pic of pad. Just eyeballing it w/o even reading the measurements on the spacer, I could tell the pads were at 4mm +. he also confirmed that a problem that Id been complaining about, which my dealership cant replicate and says is fine (after recent 22 pt inspection); its under warranty, is actually a problem, which he also sent pictures of...any mechanic in training would notice it, without any diagnostic machine, but since Im a wan I guess they thought I would not. My dealership would rather have me driving unsafe to save a buck. I thank Costa Auto / Michael for potentially saving me and my childs life, as I wouldnve taken the dealerships word other wise.

I’ve been bringing my vehicles to Costa for a few years now. This is a family-owned busines. Maria, Michael, Olando and their team provide consistently excellent services.On this particular occasion I had noticed a slight oil leak under my car. Costa last serviced my vehicle in July so I wasn’t sure if I had a new issue or if it was related to my previous service. Before I brought the car in I stopped by the shop explaining what I was seeing. Michael put the car on the rack, validated there was a leak, and told me if it was related to the prior service they would take care of it as warranty repair. My appointment was on Tuesday and the car was ready before noon the next day. Turns out a gasket had crimped causing the leak.I love the customer service! I’ve never felt pressured to getting unnecessary services by this staff. As far as I’m concerned you get what you ask for. Costa is as fair and reasonable as they come in my book. I couldn’t receive better service if you ask me.

These folks are great. Honest, reliable, reasonably priced, and theyre taking advantage of the latest technology to keep customers informed, like by sending the results of multi-point inspections to you via an app that shows you exactly whats going on. We all struggle to find local car repair shops that we can trust; well, look no more. The team at Costa does it right. I like this shop. Its clean, organized and the guys that run it are so caring about what they do. I only came to get some tirerack tires installed and was treated really well. I had an appointment and they jumped right on it and worked to keep the time low. They offered and I accepted a quick alignment check (as they should) and quickly showed me why the old tires had some bad inside wear. This all made sense and I agreed to add an alignment on. Less than 30 minutes later, the wheels were aimed in the right direction (well above minimums) and I was on my way.

The work done is exceptional. I never had any problems from any service rendered. Its a family owned business, and they are passionate about what they do, and they care about their customers. This is the best & most trustworthy place Ive had repairs & maintenance done by. I was skeptical when I first tried them due to prior experiences at other places but from the phone to walking in the door.. Their service was and still is excellent. They explained everything that was wrong with my car along with the process and the different options to fix them. They didnt try to upsell or over sale anything. Ive been coming to Costa Auto Care for over 5 years now and thought it might be time for a review. I feel extremely blessed that I found this wonderful family owned business. Having a mechanic you can trust is really important, especially when you have an older car and you like to keep it well maintained. I cant emphasize enough how much I trust these guys. Theyve gone well above and beyond the call of duty helping me out with my car over the years and Im happy to say that its in amazing condition despite it being almost 20 years old and having 210,000+ miles on it. But excellent work, trustworthiness and reliability aside, the Costa family are also wonderful people to the extent that I know them. Everyone is always very friendly, happy to be of help, take their time answering your questions and making sure everythings taken care of perfectly no matter how busy they are even when you dont have a scheduled appointment. And in this day and age, its really nice to go into a business where everyone knows your name and remembers little details youve shared over the years. Im moving away soon and I can only hope and pray I find another mechanic business as wonderful as this one. Im actually planning on scheduling major services when I come back up here to visit.
