I have been a loyal Meineke customer for years but should have listened to the multitude of 1-Star reviews. Dont waste your time with this Meineke. Will not accept the rewards points you have earned by being a loyal customer and the staff were very rude. Taking my business elsewhere.

Great location with easy service. I called around to a few places to repair a tire, and these folks offered to do it for ~$30. I dropped off my car and keys then spent the day out and about. I swung back around before closing and the work was nicely done.

I only had a car inspection. I cannot comment on any other service. But what I did experience was efficient and satisfactory.

This place is a total scam. I came in there yesterday with a clear intention to fix a car horn that stopped beeping (made an appointment online at the beginning of the week with description of the problem there as well). Was charged $169.99 upfront for some mysterious “labor,” which made me feel extremely weird because nowhere else charged me upfront before, and whatever other places charged me - they would always break it up in a bill showing what was used and performed. Here - nothing, but “labor” before anything was even done or looked at. Ended up wasting a day of my time for them to tell me to take it somewhere else (dealership to be specific) for the problem to be fixed. Absolutely nothing was fixed or done to my car, no refund was issued. If this isn’t a common problem and they suspected that they weren’t able to fix it there - they at least could have been honest and tell me about it before charging me a pretty substantial amount of money and making me wait for no reason. A complete waste of money and time, which could definitely be used on something worthy. Should have gone somewhere else on the first place. Extremely frustrated and will never recommend anyone going here, unless they have nothing better to do than flush their money down the drain and waste their precious time, which they will never get back.Totally useless scam of a place.

You will be overcharged for basic service. Check your receipts and use another location to avoid being scammed.

I had a lovely experience there was no wait time and they were done in 15 20 mins they just didnt change my sticker that show when to get another oil change

I sometime go here for an oil change but the other day I need it work on my muffler I appreciate the work they were quick and I appreciate that it was a little pricey but what can you do thank you

Made an appointment online and checked all that was needed w/online coupons; paid estimate and dropped off car. Picked up car; receipt shows they only completed 2 of 4 items I checked no explanation, also applied the least effective coupon (No Surprise)I like the convenience of it being within walking distance of my home but I will not return again. Lacking customer service and is over priced$$$Specifically asked for a battery check and today(the very next day) my battery is dead.🤬 Money wasted

The actual technicians were great the manager was the worst Ive ever encountered I was asking him questions about oil and he looked me right in the eye and lied to me and even when I gave him an opportunity to recant hes stuck with his lie telling me that my car could not use regular oil in order to upsell me instead of giving me the special oil deal. Veryvery disappointed.

Stay AWAY!!! You would do a better job using a YouTube video than they do at this sham of an autocare place. I went to them for battery installation and my check engine light began to flicker on and off. Once I call to see if they can fix it or at least give me a refund, of course the response is we didnt do anything . If you value your time and money, even in desperation...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!😩

I went in because my car window was not rolling up, the gentleman behind the counter said it would be $150 to diagnose the problem. I was in desperate need to have this issue fixed and of course I did not take the time to look at the reviews, which I hope everyone reads this because this place is NOT WORTH IT!!!! He tried to charge me an extra $280 to change a power window switch. At that point I just had to walk out and went to my usual mechanic who solved the issue quickly. I will never come back to this establishment Im honestly surprised they are still in business. I take blame for not reading the reviews beforehand, but they definitely raise their prices to who they see walking in the door. Do yourself a favor and go to your local mechanic they deserve the money way more than this place!!!!

Totally RIPPED OFF. A Bushing costing $9 that was easily accessible from the underside of the car turned into $769. Im 70. With a very bad back. Otherwise i could have fixed it myself. Complaints have been filed...small claims court awaits if they dont make it right.

Look, the work they did on my car was fine. I don’t have any problems with the quality, speed or care they took. All that was great. The thing that i didn’t understand was why not a single employee was wearing a mask during this pandemic. NOT ONE SINGLE EMPLOYEE WAS WEARING A MASK.That’s irresponsible at best, negligent and potentially harmful at worst. I don’t know if these are franchised locations but corporate really needs to get their act together and start enforcing proper safety protocols and encourage a culture of, you know, respecting your fellow human. For Christ’s sake you guys get it together.

They charged me $1200 for a tune up and they didn’t even do the work all. They gave me some new F air filters, Didn’t give me a invoice or nothing. When I went and confronted the manager he refused to give me my invoice and a refund. F this place bad business bad people

The service center performed an excellent job on my brakes for my vehicle.

I paid a $189 diagnositc fee, then they told me it would be $481 to fix a cracked hose. After they charged me $580 total, they told me it would be another $5000 to replace the engine that was bad. I spoke with 2 other mechanics that said they should know in advance if the engine was bad and not charge me $580 to tell me my car cant be fixed. I had to buy a whole other car. I tried to fight for my money back from my bank but lost the claim. WORST SERVICE EVER. If they want to refund my $481 I paid for a useless service I would be willing to give them more than 1 star....sincerely Ari Rothbaum...the girl in the wheelchair you took advantage of.....DISGRACEFUL!

I was happy with their customer service. I called on a Friday to make an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation and they were able to get me in right away. Everything was done quickly, I will bring my car back here for service again.

My car was serviced and done in a timely manner. However, there were no employees wearing masks or talking six feet apart. In addition, the manager didn’t let me know when my car was ready and I had to ask. The customer service is not the same.

Made an appointment and when I got there, none of the staff were wearing masks. I’ve been to this location in the past for oil changes and the service has been good, but I decided to take my car elsewhere today due to the lack of COVID-19 precautions.

Waited 3hours. Orginally came in for 1 sensor and oil change and i ended up paying 375 with an added change of air filter. It was too hot in the waiting room and i put my wallet on the table and there was hella ants. Everywhere. On the floor it was thousands on the counter floor. I literally got up an walked outside and waited standing up. Not returning.

No stars for this place I would not recommend going there I needed work done on my car last year and they charged me $1,000 all they did was change the hoses and now they refuse to give me an invoice to show what they have done this place is terrible would not waste my money here

Horrible pricing bad customer experience

When I went there (a Saturday afternoon in August 2017) they had time (I hadnt + the front brakes were completely gone on my wifes car) I found it excellent that they had announced a 50% for parts on brake repairs on a large sign right out of their front door. I mentioned this rebate when checking in, the quoted price seemed to be high but they were able to do it right away and they threw in some multi-point check. So I went for pads on rotors.After I got the car back and got the detailed receipt (before they only gave me a small receipt), I realized there was only a small rebate, definitely no 50% off parts. It was to late to claim this now it said on the receipt - a great scheme - congrats. On top: When I came home I realized that they hadnt even found that the brake lights!!! didnt work. (I didnt know that either). Great inspection guys! :-(Today I checked another shop in Walnut Creek (off all places definitely not a cheap suburb) It was a place with better star ratings and after receiving their quote I realized I also overpaid Meineke quite a bit. So IMHO the low ratings of this Meineke Car care Center are no coincidence. And my advice is as simple as this: AVOID!

Rude service. I got charged a mystery $10 additional filter fee because my car is foreign (Kia Optima), never had that happen before at a Meineke. They didnt give me a proper inspection form. They left my wheel lug key in the cupholder.Never coming back. Avoid this place, they do shoddy work.

Went to get turn signal and brake lights replaced...a month later the lights went out again. When I took my car back they told me it was a wiring issue and wanted to charge me $165 to run diagnostic. I ended up taking my car to the dealership. Turns out wrong bulbs were put in by Meineke causing the issue. Wiring harness was fine.

I’m always grateful to get an oil change in an hour. Having said that, I was alarmed that so few safety measures are in place. Not one staff member was wearing a mask — not even the front desk person. And no plexiglass to separate him from his customers, no hand sanitizer at the counter, nothing. There were three customers in the small waiting area, two of whom were not wearing masks. As a senior, this felt very risky to me so I walked around outside until my car was ready.Meineke claims to take customer safety seriously in the era of Covid19, but I saw absolutely no evidence of that yesterday.

Straight forward oil change. They didnt try to upsell me, which I appreciate. I was a walk in, they estimated it would take 45min to an hour and that was pretty accurate.I was concerned that, amidst the pandemic, none of the employees were wearing masks and there was no hand sanitizer around. Seemed a little reckless, all things considered.

They do good work but they make you feel like theyre trying to hustle you out your money and the prices are way to much for people having economic impact troubles right now

Some places advertise 10 minute oil change. This location gave me a 90 minute oil change. good customer service but seriously understaffed. If you value your time, find a different spot for a oil change.

They are always quick and communicate well about what’s going on with my car.

There wasn’t a long wait, sometimes I make an appointment but for this visit. I wanted in and was pleased to be out within half an hour ( 30 mins).I recommend meineke to my relatives, friends and strangers.

I presented a coupon to receive a discount on the high mileage oil change. It was for a package and the owner kept insisting that it only offered a basic package whereas the higher price would cover oil change plus topping off fluids despite a poster with the options saying otherwise. So he chose not to honor that. He also mentioned that my wiper blades were torn and that I would need to replace them and the price for both seemed extremely expensive especially after looking online to see how much they are, but assuming most of the cost is for labor. I have had so so service here before and after yesterday I will not be returning there again.

The technician was attentive, knowledgeable and courteous. The business was neat and organized. The prices held the door open for me as I made my exit.

The customer service when it comes to dealing with women is extremely poor. They dont explain things enough. They tell you the bare minimum and dont tell you things like price or what things mean unless you ask them. The guy who works the front desk is who Im referring to. Not someone who knows cars and it seems like he takes advantage of that. Or at least doesnt try to be helpful. The company needs someone who will give all the info associated with whatever they are telling you you need done so that there are no surprises. Thats very frustrating and misleading. I only come here to get an oil change. Have been coming here for years and every time its always something smh.

All staff never wear mask!!! no fresh air or A/c in the waiting room and I almost lost my consciousness by sitting there wearing mask for 30 mins~ the worst thing is the inspection fee will be 190 and it didnt solve Any problem! dont go this shop! please dont !

This is a wonderful business! The wait time is short - exactly as predicted. And the mechanics are careful & competent. I recommend the Meineke’s on Foothill & 35th in Oakland.

I have started using Meineke a lot more in the last couple of years for my oil change. I dont have to wait all day for it to be done, and they do what they need to do. Highly recommended.

This place surprised me in a very good way. The mechanics were very efficient and helpful. They didnt try to sell me anything more than the original oil change I asked. I got a very good technical report afterwards. $40 out the door for a premium synthetic oil change. Best $40 I ever spent on my car.

I came into the shop for a free diagnostic check coupon but he charged me for it cause I told him my car was misfiring. They couldnt find the misfire so I asked them to do a tune up, six hours later they finished but charged me almost $1100 for tune up and diagnostic. They charge two separate labor for tune up. 280 for spark plugs and 200 for wires not including parts. Why charge me twice for labor and spark plugs and wires are all in one tune up

Slow service here. While you wait there is a coffee machine however while I was here they were out of coffee cups and creamer the only thing you saw was a coffee maker and straws, that did not help me any. But after I waited a half an hour just to be seen I was then able to get my actual car business situated quickly

Went here November 2016. Paid for the oil change that is accompanied with the tire rotation. Asked the Male at the Register to have the mechanic let me know if I needed brakes, tires, and if one of my tires were somewhat flat. My visit took about 30min. When I asked had my tires even been rotated he lied and said they had and that I do not need brakes or tires (Havent gone back since and dont intend to). Were now in February. I had to buy new tires 2 weeks ago. Found out end of January that one of my tires had a slow leak. During the purchase of my new tires was told they my brakes had worn down and Id need both brakes and rotors. Meineke should be ashamed of the half a** service that they offer for outrageous prices. I recommend ONLY an oil change, if that.

Would not take here again, car broke down and was closest shop. Was told needed to run diagnostic for $140 to determine problem, asked if this was just pulling codes (which is done for free) or an actual diagnostic to determine the problem, was told it was an in depth diagnostic. 3 hours later, it was not a diagnostic, they didn’t know what the problem was, and had just pulled codes and was told to drive on it because they didn’t know what the problem was and come back when the check engine light appeared.Minutes later the car started shaking and smoke coming out and was told to not to drive on it (obviously). Wasted 3 hours of my day for them to pull just the codes for the check engine, and to be told they didn’t know what the problem was and had to take it to a dealership and wasted $150 on something that could have been free to get codes pulled anywhere. I should add the guy behind me had the same experience with a “diagnostic” and paid $140 to be told that there was nothing wrong with the car, although it was having issues driving, because the check engine light wasn’t on and there were no codes pulling. The mechanic didn’t even look at my car until the last few minutes while I was there and the guy up front was working on “diagnostics” who is clearly not a mechanicLoved our old Meineke store, but will not be coming back again. This store charges insane money for a “diagnostic” that is just pulling check engine codes, which Meineke does for free....

I went in for an oil change and wheel alignment. I was in and out within an hour and a half. Not bad at all for a Saturday afternoon.

Went in on 11/13/2018 do to master cylinder defect wanted to use my insurance to fix the problem so I was informed that the insurance would not cover the part with out a diagnostic For $ 140.00 he drove my vehicle around the block then put it up on the lift and then proceeded to tell me that my calipers and pins were stuck and not lubercated well when the brakes were done that was a blatant liar not sure how he came to this conclusion when they never removed the tire and had the nerve to ask if the person who put the brakes in was a real mechanic . I was charged $140.00 for nothing what type of so call diagnostics was that who knows FLAT OUT ROBBED. I would never give my time and/or money to this establishment ever again IN THIS LIFE AND/OR MY NEXT LIFE FOR THAT MATTER . If I ever find myself with someone who thinks they need to use this place I WILL GO IN MY OWN POCKET FOR A TOW AND/OR WHAT EVER IS NEED TO BYPASS THIS SO CALLED BUSINESS. I Give 0 stars not even one had to put one to post they get 0

Unapologetically horrendous service. There is the typical “customer service” in Oakland, which we all agree is pretty horrible, but service at this location is beyond horrific. From the time I pulled into the lot until the time that I left I observed a combination of incompetence, laziness, and a complete lack of positivity/professionalism. The manager was blatantly rude and exhibited no desire to provide customers with a positive experience. I will never return and will be reporting this location to Donlen.

Went to change my car oil, and and up changing the spark plugs. The oil change costs me $70 + 👍🏼BUT, for the Spark Plugs $209.95 plus tax!I find out that the Spark Plugs cost $59.96 for 4.The man charged me over $150.00 just to change it. He didnt explain me the cost of the Spark Plugs and the Labor cost. If o knew the Labor will cost me 3 times more I would bring it to a different place to put them.😡Also, I pay for the engine filter in front, just to find out I have to come NEXT week because they didnt have it. I told the man; why I have to payed now and that I didnt want them to put it then. His answer: sorry, I already ordered. You have to pay it.😡DEFINITELY not going to their shop EVER again!😡😡😡😡

They overcharge labor and light bulb prices. They have no actual receipt of how much the cost breaks down to. They just charge what they want how they feel like.

I went in here to get a quote for some work i needed done, and not only was the manager rude, but i sat in the waiting room for an hour and still didnt get a quote. screw this place. no customer service at all. if i could give this place a negative score i would. i wish midas would come back because these people suck.....

If I can give this plaze ZERO stars I would. The manager was very unclear on the pricing. I paid for a diagnosis and so when they called to inform me the next day that they completed the diagnosis they also informed me that they FIXED the problem with my vehicle and that it was running again. I get to the shop to pay them for the labor services THAT I NEVER REQUESTED because they said the car was running & fixed. The manager hands me the keys ONLY for me to get to my car and see that it wasnt in fact working AT ALL.. They had to keep my vehicle for a extra day and figure out what they did wrong only for them to fix the car again(which they finally did). So now the car is semi working better but not without them leaving with my fuses and leaving my trunk & interior ripped apart due to there malfunctions, so when I say this understand the sarcasm in my voice. Thank You so much for stealing over $1000 from me just to figure out I had bad wiring you guys are the greatest mechanic company ever GRADE: F+++++

Went here almost two weeks ago. I was told my brake switch needed to be changed in order for my car to shift gears. Waited 4 1/2 hours to be told that the wrong part was ordered. Went back a few days later when the right part was there supposedly it was changed I paid $176 and that wasnt the problem. Now Im told they would have to do a diagnostics and it will be another $100. Im so mad. I feel lime I have been played.

I went today to get one head light fixed I expected to pay $30 the most since headlights are not expensive. He quoted me at $42, I said never mind I think this is too expensive, mind you before I came to this location I called a complete different place and they have me an estimate of $25 with labor included, the only reason I stopped by is because the location was convenient. As I complain about the price he all of the sudden said he could charge me $10 less. I agreed since I was already there. However, the fact that they try to negociate the price right when I threaten to leave, let’s me know that they are shady and scam people. If they overcharge for a lightbulb I can imagine they must overcharge for everything else. I gave them a 2 star cause he replaced my light and charged me less after I complained. If you got it like that then come to this place as for me. Never again, taking my money elsewhere.

Made an appointment for ac refill and oil change for this location on there website put in my personal and truck info and they offered me some coupons when I came to my appointment they didn’t even at nothing about the coupons I had to say it and the ones I got from the website the manager said those don’t apply to hear and just up charges for everything.. all he said was no to this store, but clearly made and got the appointment and got coupons for this store.. scams scams scams never coming here again

They solved the problem of master brake cylinder that was defective. However, they overcharged for the work by a lot. Its only a $50. part that was replaced in a couple hours, but they charged $485. Thats outrageous!

I had them patch a tire this morning. They did it immediately, were courteous and price was fair. Id go back.

Attention please this place is a scam. I got a vehicle inspection. They said my running light has died which was ok just few minutes before. I agreed to change the light and paid unexpected payment for light, because I didn’t have time check what was going on there. Also i needed to pass the inspection. I am not sure that they really replaced the light or just plugged on it after they plugged off kk.

Yes I experienced the same as the gentleman said before.i went to get my brakes fixed they said my pin was stuck and they would have to break it. So I have to buy another caliper just like the last person said. Coaste $350

I came here to get my inspection done for Lyft. They have very poor quality inspection that they failed my car because of my tires. The manager told me that my tires hadnt had enough tooth high. Also, They told me that I had one bulb gone off. They asked me to change it with 40$. I absolutely didnt accept it. Its ridiculous to ask $40 for a bulb which costed me 50 cent to change it. Finally, They charged me 20 $ for horrible technic services to fail me from the test.What I did was, bought the bulb from Oreally, and changed the bulb by myself in two minutes then went to another company which accepted my tires because the filing company was measuring the size of the teeth from the side of my tires not from the middle. The other company gave me passed exam result. I had very bad experience at this company.

I went for lyft inspection a poor and unprofessional inspection stuff they asked for $70 to change bulb only even its worked when I came here and day before I did inspection with Preston they pass the bulbs but failed the tires now they pass the tires but failed the bulbs because $20 doesnt work for them and charged me $70 for nothing. Will never meet Meineken in my life.

Worst service i had i went for an oil change took them 3 hours and when i got my car bak my electric window button was broken they tried to say it was already like that plus the front guy in the front is rude not proffesional . Then another day i went to do an alignment and at the end they told me i needed $900 in parts and couldnt do the work and i still got charged $80 jus for an inspection ididnt ask for they play with your money big time !
