I received a booster shot at the CVS in Target and the pharmacist was very kind and helpful, while I had a negative reaction to the shot he was checking in on me and assisting while I waited to feel better. The cashiers here have been kind and quick each time we have been, and the Starbucks employees at this Target location are great as well!
Great store overall, discovered today that they took down their whole LGBTQ card section. There were really cute cards, and I would love to buy them for different holidays and birthdays and such. But unfortunately target believes that queer people stop existing after the month of June.
They have a large parking lot, although its in a busy area so it can take some time to get in and out. Normally the store is clean, and theyve widened the aisles to make it easier to shop and stay socially distant.This review is specifically about the app purchase and pick-up option. I purchased some make-up as I was getting ready to go out of town for an event. Using the app was easy, and my order was ready within a few hours. Pick-up was easy enough, but when I got home I realized they had given me empty boxes without the products I ordered. Either the employee was in too much of a rush to notice the very light, empty boxes, or they had grabbed display cases not understanding the difference. So now Im out of that money and wasnt able to use the products for the event I am going too.If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Do not rely on pick-up purchases if you need something immediately or if you need them to grab you the correct items. Especially if theyre more expensive brands.
Great store. Parking lot was full but there was no line to get inside. A lot of staffs were working on June 9th at noon time. Customer service desk was holding on an item from Home Decor department which was very fast & quick to reserve over the phone before I drove over.Very clean and lots of cash registers were open.I think it’s one of the larger Target stores in comparison.
This place was huge. Very conveniently located to where we were staying. Had everything we needed.
I actually really like this location. Its the largest Target location Ive ever been to and is the size of a mall on the inside. This location partners with parking assistance to help their customers shopping experience beginning with the parking lot. The lot is huge and theres a lot of traffic with assistance. I love the set up of the store and all of the accomodations they have on the inside for their customers. Its literally a one stop shop.
Stopped in to make a quick GIFT return: “Good morning, I need to return this gift for credit, I was sent the barcode from the receipt if you need it” — employee scans my phone, then the item, and without saying anything or making any eye contact says “$x.xx back to the card” as the receipt is printing. How careless could you be, absolutely useless — but transaction complete so no use in even saying anything. Whole store seemed to be staffed by zombies, won’t be back.

Very large store. Plenty of room in aisles. Wide selection of products. Large parking lot when they finish the construction for now good luck with parking during busy hours.
Rodney in customer service was really unpleasant and unprofessional. Me and another family were asking him a question regarding the food area and he looked us dead in the face and rolled he eyes as he continued to type on the self check out register. I will say that I have always came to this Target it’s actually my favorite one thus far. Rodney has turned my shopping experience all the way around when putting this store first. Also never leave reviews but he needs to be spoken to about customer service. He was way to rude.
Target has great product selection and always has what I am looking for. The customer service is also unbeatable. When I went in on Monday evening the line was really long, but the customer service rep was super cheerful so it made the experience great. I love Target.

I really wish my order would have been ready upon the assigned arrival time. Target changed their food pickup policy without notice, and instead of me waiting on my friend shopping, this time she was waiting on me. Frustrating to say the least. For all the effort of placing the order ahead of time I could have just shopped for those items myself instead of standing there waiting for associates to complete the food portion of the order. I still love Target, though.Update: September 8, 2021So I have figured out a way to do my shopping more conveniently with the whole Order Pick-Up/Grocery items issue. Now I make my Target list in the app, select the items from all departments other than grocery, and place those in the cart and purchase for Order Pick-Up. With the remaining portion of the list being grocery items, I wait for the message telling me my order is ready for pickup. Once I get the message, I head over and do my grocery shopping in-store first, then head over to the pickup counter with my ID once thats done. I then present my ID to the Target associate who then retrieves my processed order. Shopping, check-out, and Order Pick-Up all together took less than 15 minutes! Cake!
The security here is consistently too aggressive. If I have five things to buy and it takes me more than a minute to get my bearings in a store this big, thats not a cue for security to start taking an interest in me. More importantly, Ive seen security talking about and tailing other customers who arent doing anything wrong. Its disturbing, and Target should reconsider its practices.
Shopping online and coming in to just pick up the order was easy and fast. The staff was courteous and organized and I felt good about not having to run around the store to look for the items. it made my shopping so much easier and less stressful!

Overall great selection but after a remodel couple of years ago, some departments got smaller and some very good products disappeared!Grocery department has staple products that cover most necessities but options for some items like bread got to a minimum selection. Same with car supplies.Beauty, Clothing, Baby Clothing, Household supplies and Pet areas offer great options at a wide range of prices.Kudo goes to the Pharmacy crew: best I have meet ever!

Customer service in the Emeryville, California location was rude to me when I tried to pickup my online order. Actually, the customer service department is located in the Returns and Exchange area. The customer service worker named, Bassell, gave me half my order, then told me to wait while he gets the other half of my order. Then his female co-worker approaches his spot and told me to step aside while she takes care of the line. There were other registers open and I didnt see why she claimed his spot. I told her I was currently being helped. And she insisted I move out the way and called the next customer. To my surprise I looked aside and saw Bassell working the next register with another customer. I told him that I only got half my order. And Im first in line. It should be more important to finishing pickup a customers order than going down a line quickly. Bassell yelled at me saying its more important to finish a line first; and someone else is in the back getting my order. I told him Ive been waiting a long time. And he asked if I wanted him to call his worker on his walkie? (Like Duh...isnt that a logical thing to do?) I just think he developed an attitude at the moment thinking that finishing the line is more important than giving me everything I ordered all at once.
This Target is out of everything all the time. the shelves are barren. there’s not a supply chain issue with dairy products last time i checked. what gives?

I visited this location yesterday, Dec. 5. It was a total disaster. On a day in which over 2800 covid-related deaths were recorded, this location was doing very little to protect its costumers from infection. No crowd-control (the store was packed) and no management of the checkout process (it was impossible to maintain 6 of distance. What a disappointment!
Maya, and Nina, members of the Starbucks team inside target are two of the best baristas in West Oakland/Emeryville. Maya is especially very helpful, always great to be recognized by an awesome employee and who remembers customers usuals. She always knows what my girlfriend wants!
12/17/2020 Right now the bay area is in the highest covid restriction of the year and theyre not even counting the people coming in. It was a zoo in here with every aisle overflowing with people. Found the manger who said they were using a virtual counter whatever that means, and showed me there were only an est. 480 people out of the 640 they were allowed. I went in and right back out, not even possible to keep distance with so many people packed in there. Also saw staff with only their mouths covered. Steer clear of this location.
Customer service is the main reason why I made the selected score. William the cashier was incredibly warm and helpful that I cant wait to go back to Target.
Aakiya (the target associate who helped with my return) was THE BEST! She made my return as seamless as possible and reinforces the idea that the Oakland-Emeryville store is my favorite Target in the Bay Area!
Im only giving them four stars because I had to deal with two employees one was a young lady I asked about a product that was listed online as in store and in stock she told me she was going to go look for it never came back there was a young man that was restocking I asked him about the same product he got on a digital handheld product tracker and verified that they had none of the products in store so I had a good antibiotic experience in the same day I guess it all depends on who you come in contact with that day

Workers are so rude it was 9:53 and they didn’t let us in then when we told them at ain’t 10 yet they let us in but once we got in workers kept telling us that they closed like I get it they want to go home but at the same time they can’t really let us in then rush us out like what kind of customer service is that and they need to start talking to customers right and I even told the workers that I was going to leave a review and they said we don’t care it don’t matter to us like ma guy you know customers pay your check but that’s it for me never going to this target again I’ll take my money where else

But for larger purchases, Im going to look at reviews in a few places first, so Target is on my list of sources but not a default.The remodel is finally done and everything looks great. The food section is much bigger, so Im more likely to find the things I need all in one place.

Im only giving this one star because I had to to leave a comment. Im from out of town so went to this store to get some hygiene and a few groceries. I had gotten a few things and on my way to the grocery section stopped to look at earrings when I was approached by loss prevention. The girl cause yes she was way younger than me said how are you I said fine and didnt think rtwice about it she then said we caught you in camera concealing something and we just want our items back. I couldnt believe it I proceeded to show her the contents of my purse and she realized she was wrong but still no apology after embarrassing me. So I would recommend everyone shop somewhere else.
My shopping experience today at Target Emeryville was easy and quick. With people not wanting to be in crowded areas or even inside a store unless necessary it was great that I could check-out quick and easy because I only had a handful of items. Deja was very polite and helpful she got me out of there quickly. and was multi tasking. She was doing an excellent job of scanning items and then arranging others to get in line so that she could take them next. Excellent service Target and excellent Service Deja! Keep up the good work!

During COVID I expect retailers to take several steps to keep shoppers safe. The store was completely overcrowded (a line outside started while I was inside; should have happened sooner). I counted 4 employees during my 15-min visit wearing masks below their nose and one without a mask at all (in the restroom; but she was still in her uniform, and COVID is spread anywhere). I am avoiding this Target completely now; the Alameda store seems to have better measures in place. I noticed they clean the thing you put your items on at check out between each person, and its less crowded.
The online application did NOT identify my store as not having curbside pickup. As a disabled person, it is extremely painful for me to walk anywhere.

Do not use the app for delivery from this Target or any other. A delivery window was provided and nothing was ever delivered, and no call or information. I had to call to get a refund. Just use Amazon. Target app is fraudulent.

The person that delivered my order could follow the directions I gave easily without having to contact me (which is usually the case). Also respected social distancing by setting my bags down and backing up for me to grab them.
Fast shipping to my house
I arrived at Target at 9:48pm and the doors were locked and they told me the store was closed, this is completely unacceptable when they close at 10:00pm. I asked for a supervisor and was told that there supervisor wasn’t there which was a lied then a employee told me it didn’t matter if there was a supervisor on duty they still wouldn’t let me in. He was rude and completely disrespectful. This unacceptable Target!!!

Sales are awesome deals! Parking can be challenging at times. Store pickup really helps save a lot of time, but what is this total bullsh*t of $2 bag fee?! Target really needs to allow an option to decline this fee just like self check out. I bring my own bags for self check out.

Theres just about everything you need for your home from household items and clothing to groceries and electronics. Great selection of toys. They have a Starbucks and CVS Pharmacy at this location. I found several clearance sales that were pretty decent. Our cashier was extremely friendly.The store is much bigger inside than it appears as you walk up.
Because the customer service was amazing Jesse really helped me out allot. I’ll most definitely come back soon. That young man Jesse was outstanding couldn’t ask for any better customer service.
Ease of purchase. Targets fast response to online order request. Communication status when order is available. Separate line for online order pick-up (no waiting in long lines). Order received exactly as requested. Didnt take long. I am a happy camper.
They close at 8, even though the hours on here say 9 and even when you call the store and the recording says 9, and even when you place an order to pick up and you call to confirm you can come pick it up still at 8:30 and they say yes....doesnt mean you can. It means youll waste your gas trying to get here and once youre here they stack carts at the entrances to passive aggressively say theyre closed but cant update their hours anywhere even though it takes more effort to have someone stack all those carts than it is to change your hours online or on the phone.
Despite fewer people in the store and parking lot, with the pandemic restrictions waiting in line to check out is slow, there are fewer people to help you, shelves are not as well stocked. I have noticed that even before the pandemic the selection of goods to buy has been decreasing.

6/27/2020: No signs, notices, or updates that theyre only doing curbside pickup despite their site and Google maps saying in-store shopping is on. Employees standing outside to tell people theyre closed were extremely rude and unnecessary. Management needs to put up a sign--itd do a better job than these punks standing outside giving everyone attitude like theyre the ones being inconvenienced as opposed to, you know, the people who wasted their time coming here.
Always have someone at the entrance with sanitizer or mask if needed.
(April 2) Arrived 20 minutes before their closing time and did not let me in. I just needed to pickup an online order and wouldnt at least let me pickup my item that was out of stock everywhere else (a Switch). I drove over a 100 miles for this just to be stopped at the door. There was no reason given, just that they were closing at 8 now. Cant find anything on the Target site or online about them closing an hour early, even their sign said that they closed at 9. Horrible store, horrible customer experience. 1/5 would waste not my time.

Target Emeryville has really stepped up during Covid. This is now my regular grocery place due to the care they have shown for customers during pandemic. Carts are ALWAYS cleaned between uses for past 4 months. Hand sanitizer now available before entering store. Masks alway worn by employees, required for customers. Always very clean, like they had deep cleaned night before. Lots of room so very little need to be close to others during the times I am there. Great Job, Target Emeryville !!!
