Our overall experience was great and Myra is a Angel!! She really loves her job and was very, very patient with us today. Answering all of my questions and assured him regarding the prescription. This place is the worst. I made appointments on line, which was recommended. I got to the appointment on time, was told need to check in back, then was told my husbands appointment was canceled because no confirmation via text, which I personally confirmed by me, mine went through but husband didnt and wouldnt be seen until hour and half. What is the point of having appointment? I wont be doing business here.

They have a older doctor there. Whatever you do do not see him. I had to keep coming back because the prescription was wrong. When he rechecked it was drastically different. Even now its still not right. So after months of dealing with this its still not right and they wont refund the original money. I recommend going somewhere.. anywhere else

The best selection of frames! I love accessorizing and my glasses are a huge part of my day obviously, I love being able to choose a variety of frames when it’s time. I’ve also had lenses replaced in past frames to keep a good selection on hand ;) the staff is willing to help when I need a quick adjustment or fit me in for repairs as needed. Thank you EGW!!!

The exam was a normal exam. But getting my frames ordered and picking my lenses was so easy with Myra helping me every step of the way. Giving me different price options so I could decide how much to spend. Couldnt say enough about her. A definite keeper for the company

Myra was absolutely incredible, and was so extremely helpful in the process of me getting new lenses for both of my frames. She figured I was military due to my gritty appearance, and applied my military discount to my order saving me some bucks, which I very very much appreciated! This is my second time getting glasses at Eyeglassworld. The first time it took them three tries to get it right. The second time my lenses have been falling out of frames 4 times with my main pare and the other set falls out every time I put them on.The man that helped? me threw the glasses back at me and said he did that on purpose! Where do you get these people???

Terrible customer service. Waited over 2 hours for eye exam. Receptionist did not even bother saying optomotrist was running behind. Finally got to go into exam room and then had to wait over 15 minutes for the doctor to show up. Then the exam took 25 minutes. Then had to wait to order the glasses. Never thought it would take half a day to order a pair of glasses.

Evangelia was very helpful to my son and I. Looking forward to getting the glasses tomorrow.

Horrible experience. They lie about prices and the glasses are made cheaply. Its definitely not same day either. This is one of the most unprofessional businesses I have ever been into, dirty, staff was ghetto and very rude. I will never give them my business again.

They sent out for lenses to put in my existing frames. $375.00 I picked them up and distance was much better than before but now my reading and closer vision was blurry. I was leaving out of state and there was no time to have them remade or see if the prescription was wrong, etc. The sales associate suggested it would be better to give it a bit of time to see if I adjusted to them and I agreed they were better for driving than the previous lenses. I need to travel 1300 miles from Ocala Florida to Hastings New York. I asked if I could go to an Eyeglass World in nearby Syracuse NY and she replied, oh Im sure. Well there is no Eyeglass World in the entire state of NY!!! The closest being in Pennsylvania 6 hours from me. I have emailed my concerns and asked for a solution or refund but have not gotten any response. I am here for several months or maybe permanently. To not be answered or offered a refund or satisfactory solution is terrible business.

I had a pair of Ray-Bans that needed repair and I called in, and got a polite person on the phone who answered my questions and directed me to go see a jeweler to repair my glass frames (since it was specifically a break in the metal frame)! Went quick and smooth and didn’t have any problems, honestly was surprised by the reviews I saw on here, my guess is old grumpy blind people are responsible for all the bad reviews. Some of the one stars don’t even make sense and I reported them! Anyways, they answered their phones and helped me out so 5/5 from me.

I been shopping at the Ocala location for over 6 years. I was more than impressed this time around . Vivian is an asset to your Eyeglass World in Ocala. She has more than Excellent customer service. She is very pleasant and knowledgeable. I give her 💯 %.

Appointment was at 11, waited an hour and a half. No one ever came to the door when I arrived. The staff is just rude, not friendly. I ordered contacts and it told me they were sent back and I still have yet to receive them after a month, I’ve tried to call but nobody ever picks up the phone.

When I went to get an exam, it said it was $89.99 for 2 pairs of glasses, I normally go to Americas Best, but unfortunately I could not get an appointment until Wednesday, which at the time was 4 days later, this company was able to get me in the same day and I assumed the $89.99 included the exam, just like Americas best but did not, $400 later I am still waiting for my glasses which were supposed to be shipped last Wednesday and come to fnd out they havent even shipped them out and wont be unrul tomorrow which means Ill be lucky if I get them by Wednesday, wish I would have left after the exam and gone to Americas Best! Much better value and would have been tge same amount of time because Americas Best is the same distance and could have had them the same day, very dissapointed and will never come back, hard lesson learned

They told me 68 dollars for the eye exam when I made the appt then when I come in they want to charge me for some flashing light to check behind the eye when I was told that the exam was enough to get the glasses. They should let people paying with cash know that their doing extra things I dont need. Bunch of thieves or absent minded either way they are in the wrong. 1 star. Beware of people overcharging.

I brought my spare glasses in to have the lens updated. They gave me a different frame with the new lenses. I know my own glasses but they insisted the frame was what I brought to them. It was not. Corporate customer care told me she believed the store and shouldnt I be happy to have new frames? I was not happy to get back a different frame. I showed pictures of my frames and the store still denied the fact that they gave me different frames. This shady switch, denial and lies upset me greatly. Corporate customer care told me I have no recourse. Of course my recourse is to never shop there again and to warn others that Eyeglass World Ocala is not to be trusted.

Went in was told eye exam was 69.00. After exam was charged 90.00. Then the gave me my prescription ordered my glasses for 159.00. Went hours later to pick up my glasses,the guy told me I should have just gotten reading glasses from the dollar store. So pretty much from start to finish I got scammed into spending money that I didnt need to for glasses. Ocala florida store. I was injured in an accident been out of work 3 months. And that money could have been spent in better ways. I DO NOT RECCOMEND ANYONE GO THERE. MAJOR RIPOFF SCAM!!!!

First pair of glasses were totally wrong prescription. Had to go back and speak with a very slow manager who took her time helping me get it corrected. Terrible attitude with me (not even an apology for their mistake). Told me glasses would be there Monday. Nope. Didn’t get them until the end of the week. Poor experience. Won’t be back. Update: Eyeglass World did contact me upon seeing my initial review and therefore I am now giving them three stars instead of one.

Place looks nice and remodel. Front desk service at eye exam was terrible. Person had attitude and was rude, not a people person. She’s dealing with public should at least be pleasant to interact with, needs people skills. I felt disrespected. Not asking to be amiable, just be pleasant. Looking for another place to go instead. I had to give it one star to be able to post review.

I have called numerous times in regards to my glasses that have of course already been paid for, and have been told numerous times that they have been received, but not cut yet. Its been over 15 days and still have not gotten my new glasses. I can hardly see out of my current ones. You would think after spending $200.00 on glasses they would try and get them to their customers ASAP. On that note, I will be looking for a new place to go once I FINALLY get my glasses. I am very unhappy with the lack of compassion, reason, and understanding from the Ocala location.

My eyeglasses broke, and I only needed new frames. I did not want the full service of check-up, lenses, etc. Didnt want to spend the money for all that stuff, and some places wont let you just change out lenses. They require you to have a prescription and do lenses plus frames. Others will tell you they dont have any frames for your type of lenses, though they themselves may not really know---and probably dont. The reality is they also want you to do lenses plus frames. They want the full-Monty. /// So someone recommended Eyeglass World to me. I went and tried them. First thing, they had a HUGE selection of frames, not behind a counter, and all fully accessible by me. This is very important, because its up to YOU to look through the frames and find something to fit your frames, and thats not always as easy as it sounds either! I was challenged, because Id had South Korean frames that were purchased overseas. The price range of frames was basically $79.99-$199.99. The main criteria was finding SOMETHING that fit my lenses. Because there were so many choices and so many different brands, I was finally able to find something in the $179.99 section, ONEIL brand. Not my first choice price-wise, but they looked to be a close fit to my old lenses, which was the priority. /// I was right. The woman who helped me--polite and helpful, though not friendly/personable--was able to fit my lenses very easily into the new frames. I had a new pair of reading glasses! Not for as cheap as Id hoped for. But despite the $179 price tag, still saving me at LEAST $125 from the additional cost of new lenses (I already had the eyeglass prescription from elsewhere, where Id had my eyes checked up too, $129.99, a high-brow place😐). I know that Eyeglass World still made a shiny penny off me without going for the full-Monty; and Im happy too; so that makes both of us!✊ /// In closing, I would warn any high-brows that this place is eyeglasses for the masses. So if you want that personalized service in a snappy looking environment, dont bother trying this place. If youre looking to save money and are willing to spend some time waiting then it may be worth your while. Even the full eye exam was only $69.99, which is half or better of what many high-end places charge you---nearly half of the $129.99 I paid elsewhere😑. Also, dont go in the evening after work. The place was absolutely filled with people from top to bottom! I just turned around and went home, it looked so hopeless (the downside of eyeglasses for the masses😁). However, I went back at 10 the next morning, browsed around and found my frames, and got waited on pretty quickly. Overall, I was happy but not dazzled when I left; and I have grown happier in this brief time of consumership, as I am slowly discovering how sturdy and durable these new frames promise to be---though still stinging a bit from that $179 price😬. Now, so long as EW doesnt send junk email to this email address I gave them, or sell it to others, they will keep their five stars!😉 Happy 2020 New Year to everybody!🤓

They gave me a mask when I went to purchase glasses. When I went to pick them up and didnt have a mask they turned me away. Why is it to purchase they give you a mask and when you go to pick them up they wont give you a mask? held my glasses hostage. Good sales mentality. Its not surprising they have a sign in front no firearms allowed. guess they have had worse problems. However, very nice sales person Eva. Management sucks wont be back.

So...I had lost my glasses in the ocean the day before yesterday, and it didn’t seem like anywhere was going to be able to get me glasses in one day. But despite all odds, Jennifer, at the Ocala location was perhaps the most incredible person ever. She made sure I got everything I needed, and she went above and beyond the call of duty to get me glasses in an incredibly quick fashion. And they’re great glasses too!

I am blind in the right eye and after an eye exam with them I was charged for both sides of my eyes and when I tried to explain that it was a situation but after explaining the situation to the manager on duty Megan, she took it upon herself to not only fix my issue but handle the situation properly and with the utmost respect. I was very pleased with how she dealt with my situation and this occurred on 8-06-19 at 6:30 pm. The reason why I specifically name a date and time is because I hope that if management above Megan like a district manager or office manager above her reads my postings and they will give her praise because she done a wonderful job handling my situation and this written into her file

There service over all has gone down hill. They dont have same day service, or they have excuses why not.I have to call to see if my glasses are in, of course they are.I also picked up two pair, and the guy just hands them to me. Doesnt fit them or see how they are at all.After add-ons there really not so well priced. Do yourself a service shop around.

Went with my wife to get her new glasses. They were very busy but very accommodating. Found her glasses got them ordered and done in less than an hour. They also checked her insurance to see what they pay.

I was just at the Ocala location. I went to pay for eyeglasses but upon arrival I was totally ignored. 20 minutes later one of the staff took my temperature and had me seated. I noticed everyone else was greeted when they enteredI asked a staff how long but she wa rude and unprofessional. Monday I picking up my prescription and taking my business elsewhere!!

I had never been to an Eyeglass World before, but I had an excellent experience from beginning to end. The staff was friendly, patient and thorough. I got my glasses a couple days earlier than expected and they were great! I would recommend them to everyone I know. In fact, my parents just went to the one in Ocala where I went because I praised them so highly. A+ for Eyeglass World 👍!

Called this location 2 days ago and said: I need new reading glasses. Eyeglass World asked me if I had prescription with me? No I said but Ive purchased numerous reading glasses from EW in the past.No problem, said EW rep. Just come in no appointment.So Steve and I drove 30 miles. When we got there they said previous prescription e paired and I needed an exam.Lazy phone employee could have checked and we wouldnt haven driven 60 miles for nothing.

Excellent knowledge and service from Patricia (the tech) helping me with ordering my glasses- she was precise, checked and double checked measurements- made sure I was satisfied with my options/ didn’t feel rushed or overpowered by sales gimmick- just great customer services!!!

Your customer service is a joke when you call the store the phone rings and rings I drive from over a hour away and I took the day off to come get glasses and contacts and my glasses came in wrong I still do not have the correct trial pair of contacts I have had to take 3 different days off work for nothing I will never come back what a joke

I had the exam went to pickup the glasses and couldnt see out of them,the wanted to do a reexam I told them no I wanted all my money back. Over $400 still have revived nothing Im still waiting on the $89 for the exam and over $300 from the glasses RJ Deaux...

Less than pleasant / Ocala Hwy 200.This is my first eye exam experience since retiring from the military. I chose to use eyeglass world over the VA or a military treatment facility out of geographical convenience.I walked in the door before my appointment and stopped at the COVID check desk. No one was there. A salesperson who was sitting alone told me someone would help me in a second. I stood there for 5 minutes before he came over, checked my temp and directed me to the back. There was no one in the waiting room but there were two people at the desk, one of which I assume could have been checking my temperature at the door.I was checked in and told my insurance (tricare) wouldnt cover the whole exam and I would need to pay 19.95 out of pocket. After following up with my insurance and eyeglass world, I found this was for retinal imaging. This felt very salesy, like if I was at a cell phone store or car lot.I arrived before my appointment but waited 50 minutes past my appointment to be seen.The Dr. was in fact awesome, and I would recommend him if he was at a different facility.When I left I was handed a prescription for lenses. After asking how I pick glasses, they said go look at glasses and someone on the sales floor will help me. This did not happen, and I walked around looking at glasses for about 10 minutes before leaving. (Ill prob order lenses online or swing by Walmart).Lastly.. My personal information is wrong on the prescription. My address and birthday are wrong. Not a big deal, but hopefully it wont stop me from getting glasses somewhere else.

This place is disgusting on all types of levels.hardly any type of precautions for covid-19 the receptionist was very rude. I was told that my insurance was taken there and then when I showed up for my appointment I was told to wait an hour because the doctor had to step out and then 45 minutes later I was then informed that they did not take my insurance. Which is a line of bull smack because other people with the same insurance have gone there prior and also its on my provider list. Dont go there youll be sorry... Everything is cramped when youre trying to look at glasses bc theyve booked too many appointments at once so youre almost fighting over ppl and the better frames

If you get an eye exam, they will not give you the PD unless you are ordering glasses through them .They are also incredibly slow, even with something as simple as a return. The staff arent that friendly either, as a first time of needing eyeglasses, they offered little to no education when I asked questions. Definitely will be avoiding and never spending a dime here again.Update: they have ONE person that is able to do returns. What an absolute waste of my time.

Everyone here was very nice and friendly, from taking my eye exam to helping me pick out the perfect frames! I got two pair, one regular and one sunglasses, and I wanted the rose lens for my sunglasses. They were professional and explained those arent best for blocking out sun, but offered to put the brown lenses in and dip them in the rose. I love, love, love my frames and I will definitely be back!!

Horrible place! For the starter this place is extremely slow. Had me on hold for 20 mins to find out why I haven’t gotten my glasses. Staff is just nice to you in beginning so they can get as much as they want out of you. Worst place to go to. Waste of money esp and time.

Love Eye Glass World. Me and my mother both get our glasses from here and have never been disappointed. The ladies and gentlemen here are fantastic. It may take a minute or two of a wait due to how busy they are but the service and exam is well worth it.

Well, it took 5 visits to the store and two revisions of the glasses my daughter purchased to finally get them right - but thanks to Jose, we are able to walk away with some degree of satisfaction. Most of the employees there dont seem to really care about what they do, how they do it or whether or not a customer is happy. The system of service is terrible - but would be quite easy to fix. They tell you to pick out your frames and have a seat at a station and someone will help you, but they have no idea who is first in line to be helped! For Petes sake, put up a number system or have people sign in when they are ready with their frame choices. Its not rocket science! We watched two people get helped ahead of us when we were definitely seated and ready before they were. Finally, when someone started to help a third later-comer, we spoke up. This scenario is totally avoidable. We cant say enough good things about Jose, though. He helped us several times during this week of trips to EW and was always professional, caring, knowledgeable and kind. Thanks, Jose! We probably wont ever head to EW again for glasses, but you made it so we at least didnt leave angry and empty-handed.

Overall very pleasant experience - prompt service for eye exam, glasses fitting, and very helpful staff throughout. The salesperson took the time to explain to me all the costs and benefits of different add-ons and lens materials as well as effort to make sure that everything fit well. She also helped me get two good pairs of glasses for the cost of one, even without good insurance.

Today I came in a few minutes before closing time due to working late and living in another county.My son originally received he glasses from another eyeglass world, unfortunately he broke his glasses and In the county we moved To theres no local location. After coming into Ocala store and Meeting Mrs.Myra and the other friendly staff member. It was worth the drive. They were so patient, so very friendly and had smiling faces. Had a good exam, Doctor was very informative. Ordered frames and glasses came in a reasonable amount of time. Love the new glasses and the office staff was pleasant when I contacted them about getting receipt for flex spending account. Will be back.

I am not one to write bad reviews but one thing I hate is bad attitudes. The staffs attitues over the phone lack the customer service skills that a business requires. Super condecending as if you are a bother. Reasonable prices but is it worth it?

Great service! I ordered my contacts over the phone and the person I spoke to was very polite and friendly. I got my contacts today and it hasnt even been a week. It means a lot to me because I hate wearing my glasses lol

A newly-remodeled, busy optical store with a large selection of frames and also offering in-house lens manufacting for speedy pick-up.

The eye doctor spent more time with me than any have in recent years. We went though at least 3 pairs of contacts before she was satisfied with the perscription and fit. I really appreciated that.
